Mid-way to taking the logs back with Jimmy, Mikael realized that he would not have been able to do this at all prior to coming to this new world of theirs. His strength had been good prior, having made sure to keep himself in shape. However, with this new stat system, his body was working in leaps and bounds in comparison.

Speaking of which, he also realized that this would be the first time he would be meeting other players in a bit. Having taken a small hiatus, going through the Draco Isles, he had lost some contact with the world. Though he has been making good progress. His levels have been going on the up and up recently, and he was hoping to keep it up as the days and months pass by.

Arriving back at the camp, he rolled the logs towards a corner close to the construction site. Having Jimmy help him made it much easier to be sure. Wiping off the sweat from his brow, he made his way back to Dee Dee and the rest of their visitors.

"Oh, I hope everything has been good here!" He smiled at them all, before turning his attention to the dark-haired woman who had winked at him earlier. "Oh, are you from Paris by chance? I heard a french accent in your greeting earlier." He was curious what she thought of the new developments in Paris, especially as it was now a hub of activity!

The other woman was speaking to Dee Dee, so he felt a bit awkward trying to intrude.

The task of eliminating a giant that was terrorizing the townfolk? Mikael was certainly one to volunteer for that mission! He had found himself in a small slump, trying to find ways to continue his growth, when he stumbled upon this specific request in the communiy forum. Having this quick and easy way to communicate with everyone and anyone in the world made it so much easier to gather people for a cause. A much better and more useful use of social media if he had ever seen one.

Taking care to both sling his shield behind him, and placing his sword on his hip, he made the trek towards the supposed castle wherehe would meet this person. Jonas, he was called. Perhaps he could enlighten him more of the situation. After all, Mikael knew that as a tank, it would be best for him to know about his enemy in advance to be able to counter it with more ease.

After an hour of trekking through the village, and then towards the castle, Mikael found himself staring at the imposing structure. No matter how much time he had spent around castles and forts, he would never truly leave behind the awe he felt during his first sight of them.

Waving up to the person who was at the main entrance, he greeted, "Hello there! I'm Mikael, and I hope to help out in eliminating this threat!" He beamed, before looking towards the catsle. "Do you have any more information about the beast?" Mikael ased, before continuing, "Whenever you're ready, I can take the lead as the tank. We can talk while moving if you'd prefer?" He was excited, though he wouldn't show it. What sort of mythical creature would they be fighting?

Mikael was running late. That was not something that was usual for the man. No, Kael was always on time. But then again, the reason for his lateness was justifiable. At least, he would like to say that it was. After all, a good deed done was not something to scoff at, right? No, certainly not. He was just hoping that he was not late to the party. This was his first mission with the rest of his guild, after all.

Arriving with a huff at the entrance of the warehouse, Kael smied apologetically. "I'm sorry for being late. I ran across a kid with a kite that was stuck on a tree." He scratched the back of his head, which then resulted to a few leaves falling from his messed-up hair. "Oh! Hi Andy, and you too Dee Dee!" Mikael grinned at his two friends, before bowing to the lady in front of him, who could only be his boss. Or at least, one of his bosses.

Mikael smiled at their introductions, as well as waving towards Andy. It had been a bit since he saw the man, and he was happy that Andy was still safe and sound. And stronger, more than likely! He was happy for his friend. Without thought, he strode towards Andy and helf out his hand for a shake, "It's good to see you, my friend. It looks like you've grown stronger since last we met!" This meant that Kael must also do his best to grow!

"A lot of tank never hurt anybody!" He chuckled, before starting the conversation about what they were capable of. "My class is aggression-based. I take on the attention of the creatures, and punish them if they stray their attentions away from me." He was a beat-up tank, as some have called him. A tank where taking the beating was his job, figuratively and literally. He was good at it though.

He turned his attention towards the others, listening intently to their own explanantions. He was sure that he knew what Andy can do, although he was sure that the man has grown since. Andy might just having something or another up his sleeve that Kael did not know about at all, and that would be interesting indeed! Also, being here amongst other tanks gave him a sense of camaraderie. After all, he had met few tanks in his short lifetime here in this new world.

Mikael had been looking for something to do. In truth, the man had found himself in a rut. After all of the things he has done so far, he still found himself stuck on the fact that he still felt the need to grow. Those around him seemed to be happy with the life that they had made in this world. Him? For Mikael, this world was an opporturnity. For a new life, a better one. And he was damned well going to make sure he was going to do his best to achieve it. But how?

It was then a new notification popped up. Browsing though the system, he found himself face to face with a message. An advertisement for Ender Island? He had seen this place mentioned before. Was it by Idir? He had been an interesting man, though his words still made Kael doubt his own views of the world. No matter. With a quick note, he made his way towards the Waygate. A person name Giovanni seemed to have responded prior to him.

Arriving just as a woman arrived herself, presumably the "Natalya" he had seen who had posted the advertisement, he smiled and waved. "Hello there! I saw the ad for Ender, and I was hoping you wouldn't mind having a tank tag along." He bowed as a greeting, before holding out his hand, first to Natalya, and then to Giovanni. "My name's Mikael, Kael for short."

Mikael let his hand slide to the hilt of his new sword, while making sure his shield was properly fastened to his back. The book that held his armor would be used later, as per usual. For now, however, he would keep himself focused. This was his chance to prove himself, after all. Ender Island, a new dawn for Mikael.

What he saw as he door opened truly marveled the man.

The view from the top of the world, as he would like to describe it, was both exhilirating, and daunting. Mikael found himself truly seeing Paris for the first time. It was one thing to see Paris through the streets, and another to see it from above. The view from the elevator did not do the city justice.

To a historian, however, he found himself interested in the landmarks he could see from this vantage point. There were many places he wished to visit to be sure, but this way, he could see the structures from above, and well as how each structure was designed. He smiled as he started jotting down notes in his small notebook, making sure to sketch the things he found to be most interesting, and keeping track of the various streets he would like to explore.

An offer for a luncheon was declined by Kael, instead focusing on his own musings. He would not stop until he had every single detail he had wanted jotted down. As he finished the last sketch, he smiled to himself, realizing that his right hand was now very sore. Shaking it off, he turned around towards the elevator.

"Woah!" He whispered to himself as the elevator started its motions. From what he could see, the Eiffel Tower was either maintained well during the event that caused all of this madness, or perhaps the "system" recreated and restored this monument to its most pristine condition. Every single system within worked like a charm, and he could neither here a squeek, nor a whine.

He turned towards the view, and marvelled his ascent. The skylines of the city of Paris made for a beautiful back drop. From his vantage point, he saw just how the city itself sprawled from the cetrepoint, a testament to the historical expansion of industrial wonder known as the metropolis. Through these winding streets, one can see how the city expanded and grew as the industrial age took hold of the world by storm!

Mikael kept his eyes forward, though he couldn't help but tap his fingers on the rail. While the trip to the top was something he was looking forward to, he was more interested in the history this structure had in store within. Immediately, he turned to the attendant and started asking questions.

The attendant was charming, polite, and very accomodating. They made sure to answer Mikael's every question, though the man was sure that the attendant must have been starting to get annoyed with his incessant "whys". It just so happens that the elevator dinged, and they were now at the top of the structure!

He had not thought that one of the missions in this place is to head up the Eiffel Tower and to enjoy the view offered by the magnificent structure. Well, he was not one to complain, especially when it gave him official reason to enjoy a day in Paris. He felt as if these past few weeks had been spent too much in battlefields. He needed a breath of fresh air.

He strode towards the magnificent structure, star-struck by both its architechture and its history. He felt the historian within him shiver in delight. There was no time like the present!

His first few steps took him towards the elevator. It seems to be working, and is a marvel in and of itself. He waved towards the attendant, before stepping in, after showing them the mission in which he had been tasked to do. Mikael nodded at Dee Dee's explanantion. Of course pets could grow! Well, summons that is. Mikael had not thought about that at all, and found himself looking at Kramer, the dragon. Would that summon grow to be larger? Larger than its size already? Now that would truly be fearsome!

"That's amazing Dee Dee, and you too, Jimmy!" He gave them both a thumbs up. Just as he was about to head to work once more, having grabbed the axe, he found himself looking up towards a gorgeous woman. He smiled at her politely, and before he could respond in kind to her greeting, another person popped up!

Kael turned to Dee Dee, before turning back to the two women. "Hello there, my name's Mikael. Kael for short." He introduced himself, before smiling brightly at them both. He gestured towards Dee Dee, "I'm helping my friend Dee Dee build this...building?" He remember her calling it a modular, though he was unsure if he was remembering correctly.

After a short pause, he continued, "Well, you both are more than welcome to help me if you'd like! Though I'm sure Dee Dee has some other plans..." Perhaps she might feed them, and entertain the second lady who seemed to know Dee Dee somewhat. "In any case, let me take my leave for a few."

Making his way alongside Jimmy, Kael got to work. He had taken down three trees before realizing just how hot it was. Kael turned to Jimmy and smiled, "Perhaps we should take these logs back to Dee Dee, and then take a small break, hey buddy?" Perhaps a cool drink would do him good! One by one, he would haul the logs back towards where the construction was happening.

The girl's comments stung, but he knew he should have been much more careful. This is more especially while he was out in the wild. But then again, he had been processing his level ups, which, to be fair, he should have done prior. But then again, he had been distracted, especially after his talk with the man known as Idir. He had said many things which made Kael question his own views about the world.

"I...uh, yeah, no, you're right. I just got distracted." He smiled at the girl, before turning to his own level ups. He made sure everything was good to go. "I usually don't panic. Nor caught off-guard, really. I was just a bit more distracted than I usually am." The name she gave him, however, was not one he was familiar with. "As for this Hikari, I'm afraid I can't help you." He gave her a small bow in apology.

When she introduced herself, Mikael smiled brightly. "It's so good to meet you, Noelle." Just as he was about to continue, however, he felt the rumbling through the ground. Noelle's warnings were coming to fruition.

Kael didn't even miss a beat. He grabbed three items from his inventory. The first was the storybook, which he opened immediately, bathing him in a bright light. The second and third were quickly held tightly in each hand, a sword and a shield. The dragon-like creature which appeared sent shivers down Kael's spine. He knew this was not going to be an easy fight.

Not running in head first was the best decision, and his next best decision was rolling to the side, behind a large tree, when he saw the creature charging some sort of attack. The attack split the tree he was hiding behind in half. With grim determination, Mikael stepped forward, ready to take the dragon. "Hey, Noelle. I'm a tank class, so I can do my best to take the hits if you could try to do some damage to it?" He spoke softly, eyes never leaving the dragon as he traced ts moves, ready to dodge if and when needed.

After all, the church had some repairs to be done, and he was the one who assisted the parish priest and local volunteers. He flexed the gauntlets, and found it to be very flexible. Breathable too! It seems that magic was truly at work. Gripping his Retributionist's Blade in one hand, and his Cross of Mercy inhis other, he felt much more prepared.

Dee Dee's signal alerted him of the danger abroad. Without thought, mostly his instinct, Kael took position at the head of the group. From what he could see, it seems that there was one boar that was ready to take them on, after its friends got taken up by Dee Dee's mines.

This was his task, his role "Come on then! Show me what you're made of, boar!" Mikael taunted the creature, his shield and his armor at the ready to take on the hits. His sword was ready to strike as well, though he was sure that his allies would have the damage all covered. His job was to take the attention, and therefore the hits when necessary.

The first thing he felt was shame. And then embarassment. And then curiosity. And then shame once again.

Mikael's face would redden, before he tried catching himself. "H-hey, sorry. I was expecting a monster of some sort, and...yeah..." He felt so bad, and tried apologizing as best as he could. "I really am sorry, it's my first time adventuring out here by myself, and I was told that it can get really dangerous in these parts." At least, that was what Idir had mentioned.

He turned around, looking at his surroundings, before sighing in relief. It seems that there was nothing nearby, at least nothing he could sense. "Ah, I was also caught at an opportune moment. Leveling up and all." Mikael gestured in front of him, before finalizing his decisions. "Sorry, I haven't caught your name. I'm Mikael, Kael for short!" He held out his hand for a shake.

Mikael was stunned by everything and everyone. There were so many people gathered in one place, and though some of them were familiar faces, others were scary looking, and some were quite odd. Though, to be fair, Mikael knew he was odd looking himself. Especially since he was strutting around in his newfound armour.

He listened to the spiel provided, before nodding along with the things he agreed with. But of course, joining a guild such as this must have some catches. Tithes for one, though he felt the term was a bit archaic and had lots of negative connotation. But the perks sounded really good. Too good.

"Ah, yes, if we were to choose a stat. Perhaps vitality or defense? The first would help with survivability of everyone, of course. The latter is more selfish of me." He grinned sheepishly at his suggestion.
