Mikael had been looking at his system for a bit, sitting down in one of the less frequented areas of the Draco Islands. From what he had been told, this area should be safe. Well, safe enough as he was warned. There was still an off chance that some other creature might stumble upon him and those in the surrounding areas. However, Mikael himself felt equipped enough to run away as fast as possible if required. He was no coward, but he was definitely someone who believed in preserving life, especially his own.

Just as he was about to press enter into his level ups, and make the choices he needed to choose, he found himself being watched. It was at the back of his spine. He felt it first, before even noticing that the bushes were moving ever so slightly. Then again, the bushes here were almost as tall as people. It reminded him of a corn maze, but not quite.

Mikael heard shuffling, and then as one sound left the vicinity, another started. He turned towards where the other sound had been coming from, possibly another person in the area walking around, and stared hard. He wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be someone who was going to jump him.

If and when the person showed their face, Mikael would scream in fright!

It was quite annoying when you were looking for people in unexplored territory. Mostly because it meant there was no paths to take and the overgrown vegetation of Draco Islands made Noelle feel about at home as an artic animal in a desert. She was just as gloomy as the sound of rain that perpetually fell around her would indicate and the open umbrella allowed for sound like water on a hard tarp to bounce and echo. She wasn't exactly subtle in terms of position, and she wasn't sure she should of been.

As they cleared another bush they would enter into an interesting little clearing, though mostly only because a man who looked like he had been painted to be her polar opposite was in the clearing, and he was... screaming. That was a great first impression, for a hulk of a young man. Looking around and seeing he was alone she would form a peace sign with her hands and give him a slightly cringed look, "Yo. You don't have to scream, I know I'm gloomy looking but I'm not that scary."

The first thing he felt was shame. And then embarassment. And then curiosity. And then shame once again.

Mikael's face would redden, before he tried catching himself. "H-hey, sorry. I was expecting a monster of some sort, and...yeah..." He felt so bad, and tried apologizing as best as he could. "I really am sorry, it's my first time adventuring out here by myself, and I was told that it can get really dangerous in these parts." At least, that was what Idir had mentioned.

He turned around, looking at his surroundings, before sighing in relief. It seems that there was nothing nearby, at least nothing he could sense. "Ah, I was also caught at an opportune moment. Leveling up and all." Mikael gestured in front of him, before finalizing his decisions. "Sorry, I haven't caught your name. I'm Mikael, Kael for short!" He held out his hand for a shake.

"I promise, I don't scream at people regularly..." He trailed off, one hand scratching the back of his head awkwardly, with a big smile plastered on his face. The usual Kael that most knew and have met.

Noelle was doing her best to keep her face from giving him a concerned look, easy enough to do with her WIL. Shrugging she shifted her umbrella as she listened to him, the rain never stopping its fall from nowhere around her, though the ground stayed dry. A good sign it was not truly raining. Reaching out a pale hand she would shake the young man's hand with no firmness to her grip at all.

"If you're gonna be that jumpy, you have no real business out here levelled or not Kael. Fear and Panic get people killed pretty fact nowadays. Anyways, if your good you know where I can find a Hikari around here? She bought this big egg and Im doing some courier work to bring it to her," Noelle would state bluntly. Nonchalant as she could be, Noelle seemed to stare out with no love for the scenery. Someone who had had days where they would simply go through the motions would know the look well; someone drenched in pure displeasure by their situation. Though in contrast it seemed constant with Noelle.

"Name's Noelle by the way, don't get too attached to it though. Unless your a SIGMA member you probably wont see me unless your running across Rory... and I usually have my hands full dealing with that idiots whims without more people," Noelle would then look up, her crystal blue eyes chilling as they pierced into Mikael. Stepping back she would look left and right lowering her umbrella before Mikael the pattern of a sandstorm began to twist in his vision, memories of fright coming to surface in his mind. Though in the same sense he would suddenly feel an intense feeling of Vigor entering his body, "Speaking of don't get scared, we got company it looks like. Get your shit together buddy."[break]

The girl's comments stung, but he knew he should have been much more careful. This is more especially while he was out in the wild. But then again, he had been processing his level ups, which, to be fair, he should have done prior. But then again, he had been distracted, especially after his talk with the man known as Idir. He had said many things which made Kael question his own views about the world.

"I...uh, yeah, no, you're right. I just got distracted." He smiled at the girl, before turning to his own level ups. He made sure everything was good to go. "I usually don't panic. Nor caught off-guard, really. I was just a bit more distracted than I usually am." The name she gave him, however, was not one he was familiar with. "As for this Hikari, I'm afraid I can't help you." He gave her a small bow in apology.

When she introduced herself, Mikael smiled brightly. "It's so good to meet you, Noelle." Just as he was about to continue, however, he felt the rumbling through the ground. Noelle's warnings were coming to fruition.

Kael didn't even miss a beat. He grabbed three items from his inventory. The first was the storybook, which he opened immediately, bathing him in a bright light. The second and third were quickly held tightly in each hand, a sword and a shield. The dragon-like creature which appeared sent shivers down Kael's spine. He knew this was not going to be an easy fight.

Not running in head first was the best decision, and his next best decision was rolling to the side, behind a large tree, when he saw the creature charging some sort of attack. The attack split the tree he was hiding behind in half. With grim determination, Mikael stepped forward, ready to take the dragon. "Hey, Noelle. I'm a tank class, so I can do my best to take the hits if you could try to do some damage to it?" He spoke softly, eyes never leaving the dragon as he traced ts moves, ready to dodge if and when needed.

Noelle could do very little except laugh bitterly at the words that Mikael spoke as the rain around her picked up heavily. It was the worse case scenario in terms of how long this would take, and time meant that it was going to get dangerous. Though time also meant her strength grew rather then diminished, that did not mean to much in the grand scheme of things. Turning her umbrella to the the dragon and spun it to show a rainy pattern before it, a golden chain appearing around the dragons neck tightening in place as the rain around her glimmered purple and bombarded the dragon. Only to do, well, nothing. In truth that attack had not been planned to strike the creature down, but to layer on her debuffs.

"Bearer of bad news, as always here. I'm also a tank, though I''m quite heavily focused on cycling debuffs and buffs on others, kind of like how I raised your defense and lowered your speed Kael. I also hope your Willpower is good cause, I am awful at not affecting allies with one of my abilities and it could make things bad for you..."

Stepping in front of the attack and opening her umbrella the rain around her would begin to swirl into her like a halo into the eye of the storm as the beam was forcibly bent into Noelle herself. The attack being eaten by her umbrella thanks to its potent shielding and the not so obvious existance of the type weakness. Though both dragon or Noelle could know they were both the same variance of element, judging their existance as a shelter or gift wasn't public knowledge either could judge.[break]

Buffs and debuffs...this was something Mikael was unused to. Or perhaps he had just not been introduced to them as much as the rest of the class capabilities he's seen. Oh he knew about buffs, though he had thought that it was more people self-buffing themselves. This certainly wasn;t the case, especially as the woman told her of what she had done to him.

Them both being a tank, however, was something that unfortunate. From what he could gather from the woman, however, perhaos her debuffs could help in their limited offensive capabilities. And so, he gave Noelle and small smile and responded, "I'm more of a head-first kind of tank. So perhaps you can do work in the backline, while I slowly chip away at the creature?" He took up his shield, and started running.

When he got close enough to the recovering dagon, reeling from its attack, Mikael launched himself forwards. His sword was in his hand, he thrusted it forward, aiming for the dragon's eye. He barely struck, cutting through the cheek and knicking the eye enough to cause the dragon to bleed. It certainly wasn't happy.

Perhaps it was on instinct, but the drgaon reared its head, and sent another lightning breath attack. This time, Mikael took it head on, immediately using one of his core abilities to nullify the damage. It was a gamble, but it seems that the damage for this specific attack was just enough for his defensive capabilities to absorb,

As he held his ground, sword ready to strike once more, he waited in earnest for Noelle's own actions.

Noelle watched the display of the young man for a moment, but rolled her eyes at his words. She couldn't quite get what formation he was trying for, but it clearly would not work. They either engaged as one or fell apart, that was clear as day to her. Pointing her umbrella at the dragon this time she spun it to show the pattern of a Sunny Day, a second golden chain wrapping its neck as she layered yet another debuff onto the poor beast. Waltzing forward with a slow, but assured pace, Noelle would pause as she got just a bit behind Mikael.

"Oh yeah, sure sure let me just find my non-existent ranged damage options that won't hit you too. Im a damn illusionist buddy! I'm about as close to a back-liner as you are buddy. Just more brain then muscle," Noelle would state as a spray of rain would run down off their jacket and spray in a cone up into the dragon with a shocking level of success. The attack seeming to leave it fairly softened as she would push further forward, needing only a couple feet before Noelle would sink their surroundings into deep black and white like a film noir, what was unseen was the wave of pure misery that accompanied it, though the bleeding eyes of the dragon give a sort of black ichorous tale from where it had been caught up.

"Seeing why I can't be behind you yet dude?" Noelle would call as she opened the Umbrella and spun it and gathered water to block a physical bash from the dragon. That meant the Sorrow Tag hadn't taken, but that was fine. The debuffs that mattered were skewed in the correct fashion. She would have her strongest attack back soon too.[break]

When the woman started doing their thing, Mikael could only watch in silence. It seems that his assumptions were wrong. After all, when they had said that they cycle buffs and debuffs, he had immediately thought that they do that ranged. To be fair, it wasn't properly explained, though perhaps there was no time to properly explain anything. That doesn't mean they had to be this rude, however.

"Ah, sorry. I assumed you cycled your buffs and debuffs at ranged." He apologized, before turning his attention towards the beast. He held his sword high, before racing to cut the dragon once again. "I thought you might soften this creature up so that I can slice through its scales with more ease." Retributionist's Blade attempted to carve through the creature once more.

The creature was none too happy, however. And even with the woman's skills affecting it in such a way that it was weakened, it still had the capacity to respond with its attacks. It started to spark, its mouth raised and poised, before sending another bolt of electricity towards them.

On instinct, Mikael jumped forward and caught the attack with his shield. It took the attack head-on, and Mikael could feel himself being pushed back a moment, before the streaking electricity died down.

"We'll have to finish it soon before it could do more damage." Mikael cursed, knowing that worst came to worst, the creature must have a trump card. It must have some sort of attack that can push their already high momentum back. That was out of the question.
