 On this significant day, the atmosphere was abuzz with anticipation and excitement. ”Ya like jazz? Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talkin’ about!” Rory had worn a pretty simple brown suit to the SIGMA guild’s big debut. Honestly, it was just something Noelle had dragged him along to check out. “Spectral Investigations Guild of Mysteriously Anomalous” was a really weird name, and one that in itself was kind of confusing. Rory had to give it to them though- on brand for a guild like that! Once he had actually sat down and given it a good examination, he found that SIGMA aligned pretty well with what he wanted. Explorers of the mysterious and unknown… his face twisted into his iconic grin as he thought about it. The more he went out and investigated strange places… THE MORE LOOT HE COULD FIND! ”SIGN ME UP!”The guild had some history behind it, but as far as Rory could tell, it was essentially being restarted from the ground up after an expedition into the Devil’s Triangle zone. He had been there himself, so that worked for him, and hell– the Guild had a pretty impressive tower to boot. SIGMA was made up of six Divisions that were all going to work in unison, but signing up for the Investigations Division was a no brainer for him. ”Yes, mwahahahaha! You can count on me to go out there and find all sorts of things!” With Noelle as his number 2, Rory was really getting excited to start taking the world by storm. And that was absolutely worth celebrating! Before today, Rory had only seen the Leader of SIGMA wearing a mask. It was a surprise to him to see the man remove it and introduce himself as Tommy. ”Tommy, I gotta say- I like the choice in music”

Noelle was not completely convinced to join a guild when she had caught wind of SIGMA, but she had liked the sound of the structure and its general vibe as a paranormal investigations group. Though joining the Investigation team had been brought about the fact that she often simply followed after Rory mindlessly because he actually went out of his way to see the world and she enjoyed his adventurous attitude even if she also hated his guts thoroughly as one could given they were tolerable of him to an incredible degree. Like having a doofy golden retriever while being incredibly allergic to dogs, the conflict of interest didn't stop the dog from being a favorable pet overall.

Having come to the opening ceremony in partial because of their applications Noelle had not expected something so incredibly formal as this. Rory had come in a suit, but Noelle had simply put away her umbrella and removed the rain effect that it caused. Leaving her simply looking partially soaked from within her raincoat, refusing to fit to a formal dress code she had not known about past what was generally formal. Her raincoat generally recolored to make it look like a closed off trenchcoat over black slacks, "Rory keep you voice down moron, this is a really high class looking event. Your gonna ruin the job prospect if you go around shoulding the entire time."

This was followed by a sigh as she turned to the new voice looking blank as always. Though something about the man before her was incredibly unnerving, to a point that those that were perceptive would notice the pale lady would pale ever so slightly more. Tommy was unnaturally beautiful, in a way that ran a chill down her spine, and it was not the kind sort of stimulus. Keeping her mouth shut she looked to Rory only to see the boy had practically chained himself as the gentlemenly type near immediately... simp.[break]

Sebastian gave himself one last check in the mirror, ensuring that his outfit was perfect before he teleported over to New York. He had received a notice that Enigma was hosting some sort of shindig for his guild and the teen assassin decided to attend, just in case he decided to join the guild.[break][break]
Snagging a champagne glass, Sebastian maneuvered himself into a corner while stealthy releasing his spawn to occupy the vents and shadowed areas of the room. Just because he was here with benign intentions didn't mean that he wouldn't take the opportunity to gather some information. as well as stake out the best spots to escape from. At least, that was his thought process before catching sight of one of the most beautiful individuals he'd seen in his life. He was tall, probably 6'1 or 6'2 with vaguely asian features. Hana hadn't had a reason to dress up for a while! Not since the concert, really. And she'd repurposed her stage outfit as something like her signature look, so it wasn't really very impressive anymore. Thankfully she actually owned a shower and closet and everything now, so she'd been able to properly prepare once she'd received her invitation.

A nice, simple black dress she'd been able to scrounge up from the area around Tokyo, near her own Guild base. Nothing too revealing either, especially with a matching jacket on top. Somewhat ruining the look was the fact that she was clearly wearing some sort of exercise outfit underneath it, but...this wasn't a Safe Zone. If Earth-chan decided to ruin things, she wanted to be ready to fight, just in case.

Looking around the surprisingly busy room, she only recognized one face so far, waving at Noelle with a smile. However, after last time, she had a feeling the other girl would prefer Hana keep her distance. So she continued to mingle, spotting Sebastian and waving to him as well! Although he was busy, talking to...a model or something?

This caught her attention for a moment, blinking behind her glasses, before she continued on. Maybe that was one of Enigma's new recruits? Hidden in an alleyway around the corner from the building rested a man in his early 20s. Valentine found himself astral projecting at this time, having propped his body up in such a position to flee if need be. Right now he found himself in New York because some guild was having some type of introductory party. After having gone to the hub and looked up some info about them as well as the ever-present "word of mouth" conversations in the safer areas of Player's in the city, he thought this could be worth looking into.[break][break]
Valentine's astral body searched throughout the party grounds, so far so good. His core ability was something he held close to his heart, it was the core of who he was and from which he built everything else when it came to battling. It saved his life more times than he could count, and for that he was grateful. However, it was rare that he found himself doing such a thing as today. He uses his astral projection to scope out a party of Player's beforehand. It made him feel like something akin to a spy, and he couldn't help but crack a smile in his astral body as he did. He watched the small social interactions here and there and took stock of some of the more interesting people. Like his physical body, his astral body was dressed in the garb of an expensive thousand-dollar suit. He could never afford one before everything went topsy-turvey, at least not without going into debt. However, nowadays it was nothing more than a simple five-finger discount, and considering he had one of his hideouts in Manhattan finding one in his size was pretty easy. The hard part was finding a tailor that was still around. "An expensive suit doesn't mean shit if it isn't tailored," is what his dad used to say. The thought of whom brought a tinge of sadness to his heart.[break][break]
He was quickly snapped out of his reminiscing by the sight of someone practically fawning over a masked man. Valentine thought it was interesting, but having scoped out the place a bit Valentine deemed it relatively safe. Thus his physical body began to move. He willed it to walk to the front entrance and through. He enjoyed this aspect of his ability, being able to move his physical body as his astral projected, having a 3rd person view of his own body while also being able to have a first-person view of his own body was pretty trippy. At first, he was terrified, the ability was confusing to manage when he first got it, It took months of reclusive training just for him to use it proficiently, and even longer to use it alongside his subclass. Not to mention the constant nausea and headaches. Thankfully now all that was over, and he was stronger for it. [break][break]
He sent a quick message to his brother Saint Claire, "Hey Clairy, Everything looks okay thus far, I'm going on. I'll try and make it nice, Hit ya back later." He sent the message, then focused his attention back to the party as his sleepwalking body finally made it to his position. [break][break]
Most probably thought it was odd for some guy to be smoothly walking through a crowd of people with his eyes closed, especially when he didn't bump into a single person but most at this point had seen stranger things. Once Valentine's physical body reached his astral body, he stepped backward into it. His eyes fluttered open and he gave a warm smile to those around him as he mused the words "So fancy. Most people here… yeah, he had no idea who they were. He saw someone slouching around and giggled to himself; clearly he wasn’t the ONLY one enjoying himself here. After watching them for a moment, however, something clicked in his mind. He beckoned to Noelle, before nodding over to the guy. ”Looks like I’m not the only one havin’ a good time, right? Noelle was never one for parties when she was in college. She had been the type that went home from school and watched TV with her little brother. A homebody type with an adventurous, if gloomy spirit was a good way to look at Noelle, and frankly she was trying to change. Change just happened to suck a donkey sized.... that train of thought was a bit too crude. Looking around she would notice Hana and the wave as they made contact and that was reason enough to part ways with Rory for the time being.

As unluck would have it, Rory too had found someone he wanted to go talk with and Noelle wasn't going to stop him from socializing at a social event. She wasn't a babysitter 24/7 after all. As the buff came, Noelle almost out of habit would lower her umbrella from her inventory and open it to spin sunshine into Rory's pep and step, "Careful over there, I'm gonna head to talk with Hana."

Noelle's response was short as the crime duo broke apart and Noelle would approach Hana from across the way, "Didn't expect to see ANTHEM's guild leader here, Tommy over there pay you to sing or something?" Noelle would ask as she got closer, their expression marginally less gloomy, more laid back and relaxed then usual. Though that may have been the fact she got away from the terrifying gaze of the guildleader.[break]

Hana had been simply enjoying the band, watching them play, when Noelle approached. "Hmm?" It took her a moment to catch up with what had been said, smiling at the thought. "Oh, no, I've never actually gotten paid to perform. I guess the videos I uploaded made money...but that wasn't why I made them." She looked upwards for a moment as she reminisced, before shaking her head and returning to the moment.

After another moment, she suddenly grinned. "If you ever wanna go shopping for a new outfit though, let me know! I mean, it's less shopping and more, uh, scavenging...but, you know what I mean." Hana gave her jacket pocket a pat, as if she were checking for something, before remembering the whole inventory thing. "I also got this, uh, magic dressing room item recently too, that has a lot of clothes inside. If you ever wanna see it!" She realized she might be getting a bit too excited and talkative for Noelle's tastes, so suddenly shut her mouth and smoothed her dress, smiling quietly.

Noelle took a moment to take everything in. Her upsettingly expressionless face not giving any indicitation that she was listening outside of the eye contacts and the continued eye contact. It was rare they decided to socialize with anyone, but when the only people you knew were either annoying or terrifying, you tended to choose the last option which was talking to the least intimidating individual in the room from a 'I know that person' sort of view. Noelle was no different in that aspect at all.

Noelle waited for what she recognized was Hana thinking she was over-talking. Noelle wanted the girl to keep talking, it was an easy excuse not to answer, rude as that may have sounded if they said it out loud, Noelle was not one for conversation most times preferring short conversation... Rory was a forced exception, "Tommy... the guild leader? Kinda unnerving, but Rory seems relaxed so I don't see a reason to freakout. Moron he is, Rory has pretty good judgement if you stay around him enough just really bad at showing it... ever."

Noelle would shake her head at a thought and force themself to keep talking, "Not really though, if there is there are enough players here that I don't think the threat will be too severe, though without... certain time periods Rory and I are essentially just a sad auxillary. If your wondering why Im mentioning him, cause I realized I am, its because the system has cosmically cursed me for working with him," Noelle would say pulling up the skill realizing she should probably just get out of this awkward spot by showing what she was dealing with that skill, "Anyways, the outfit is cute but I'm afraid I have no sense of fashion, I came from Seattle so sweaters, rain coats, pants, and boots were always my go to since its rains more or less everyday. I prefer to keep it that way, about all I have left from home is what I'm wearing anyways."[break][break]
Noelle was just killing this conversation... with a full clip... all to the head. If it wasn't obvious she was horrible at conversation when others were talking, it become readily apparent when someone talked to her one on one.

Valentine did a quick glance around before he stifled a fake yawn and let his eyes close back shut, his astral body once again left his physical one and he found himself moving about the room trying to scope out those around him, his attention landed on two young ladies, one of whom he was sure he had heard about, not from the people around him but from simple word of mouth, to his understanding, she was the leader of a guild called ANTHEM, at least... He thought so, he wasn't all too sure, but she fit the description of the preliminary information Saint Claire had given him. [break][break]
Moving his astral body about, Valentine decided to put himself slightly center of the two girls, the one in the raincoat... Which was odd considering it wasn't raining at the moment, and the guild leader, he let his astral body rest there in an attempt to eavesdrop on their conversation. He didn't know what information he'd gain, if any at all but he figured making a few rounds around the room chatter would give him something to work with, or hopefully something that may be of value.[break][break]
Then he saw a familiar face, Rory, the quirky gambler from a rescue mission he had partook in what seemed to be ages ago. Valentine's sleeping face held no true expression outside of the fact that he was, well, asleep. That said his groggy sleeping voice that echoed from his lips still conveyed a sense of joy and cheer as he spoke to Rory. His eyes shut still he held out a hand to the man, "Ha, Rory, fancy seeing you here, it has been a minute, how are you?" He said his words slightly slurred toward the end as his steady breathing escaped from his sleepwalking body. [break][break]
