Hikari was not surprised to see her friend come in using her interestingly looking space ship. Nor was she surprised to see the woman come in with her summons. They were her constant companions after all, and Hikari had not failed to see her without her summons out. It was a good idea then for her to have another table prepared.

"Please, Dee Dee, sit. You are in my care now." She smiled, before waving for the server to bring Dee Dee whatever she ordered. The expense will be paid for later on, and Hikari will make sure she covered the bill. She had worked hard for this luxury, after all, and it was only fair for her to share these luxuries with the friends she had made along the way. Especially those who had taught her everything she knew so far.

"I wanted to share with you some information I found out recently. I feel as though this is an important one, especially since it happened close to a supposed safe zone." Hikari took a sip of her drink, waiting for Dee Dee to get settled with her order, before continuing. "I recently took up a mission to gather supplies, but the resistance we found was neither nature nor monster." She paused then, looking Dee Dee deep in her eyes, "It was man. There has been an increase in activity recently of scavengers targeting players unawares, especially new players it seems." That was what she had gathered from those who had tried to attack her at least. Andy had been with her, but she knew immediately that without the man, she would have been a sitting duck.

[attr="class","hikareescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] With both Shotsuren and Daitsuren unsheathed, Hikari was finally ready to fight in earnest. The fact that her swords only came out as one had seen enough combat can be frustrating at times. However, she would not let it get to her. Instead. she would focus on the fight ahead, and every other subsequent fight. After all, there was nothing to be gained in complaining. [break][break] This new monster was a sight, and it seems as though it can even buff its smaller allies. However, it was good that Hikari had already taken care of the two goblin slingers. She would now face this new opponent. Though not as experienced, she would rely on her wits and speed. At least, that was the plan. [break][break] "Let me soften him up for you, Dee Dee." She said over the noise, before flicking her fan. Shotsuren and Daitsuren immediately went into action. Without even so much as a sound, the two swords made their way to the already-injured goblin leader. Just as Dee Dee mentioned, slashes are better than stabs. They were meatier, and her swords can certainly get stuck. [break][break] Two slashes, on both the Achilles heels. Hikari immediately looked towards disabling her opponent. After all, a goblin who can't move is a dead goblin, no matter the size nor strength. And even better, Hikari can dance around such an incapacitated creature. [break][break] The hits landed, though it failed to bring the monster down. It was, however, bleeding profusely on its heel, making it roar in frustration as it ambled its way towards Hikari, who dodged to the side as it lifted its club and smashed it down. With the goblin leader bleeding profusely from its injury, especially where the injury is located, it slowed it down to where Hikari's speed was enough to keep her safe. For now. [break] |

Hikari nodded at Dee Dee's words, realizing that this might be an uphill battle indeed. However, they would be fine. At least, that was what she assumed. Even then, with Dee Dee's summons alongside, they should be alright. Besides, Hikari knew she has a fail safe if things go wrong. Her last core ability was usable soon, and while she might not want to use it, she might have to later on.

"Lead the way." She followed along the route they took, having Dee Dee take the lead while she followed behind. She made sure to clean up behind them, however. The bats have not let up, and Hikari had to cull a few of them as they went through the halls. Without pause, her blades would cut through the air, and only the sound of shrieking animals would be the sign that they had it a mark.

As time flew by, Hikari realized that they've delved deeper than she had gone to before. This far, the catacombs should have been unpassable. At least, that was what she had been told by the tour guide. However, this was a new world, a new Paris, and a new catacomb. As they delved deeper and deeper, Hikari became even more curious as to what this new catacomb had within its belly? What was it hiding?

When Dee Dee stopped, peeked, and then reported back what she saw, Hikari smiled slightly. It seems their true challenge was now here. That was a lot of corpses to fight, and Hikari was sure she would be forced to use her last core ability against it. Even then, it would not be an easy fight to begin with.

"Whenever you are ready, Dee Dee, I shall follow." She nodded, "Kenmyoren is ready to taste its first blood tonight." Hikari grinned at the thought, and her last and most powerful sword shook with excitement.

Hikari was here for a reason today. Having contacted Dee Dee, she was hoping to see how the woman has been doing so far, as well as ask her about her subclass. She had not know that subclasses were a thing, and was hoping to ask how it interacted with her main class, and how she was able to get one in the first place. Though, to be fair, that was not the main reason she was here right now, sipping tea, and waiting for the woman and her summons.

In truth, she had wanted to share some information she had been able to gather in her recent adventures around the world. She was hoping the information can be used in her guide, to help those who have just arrived, as well as support veterans who continue to adventure around the world.

"Yes, please. Prepare another set for my friend. As well as a table for her summons." The server acquiesced to her requests, and immediately made space for Dee Dee's summons. As well, another plate setting and a drink menu was placed in front of her seat. Hikari had chosen a patio for their meeting, making sure that Dee Dee's summons have a place for their own. Since Dee Dee had treated her to her cooking prior, she was repaying her kindness by buying her a meal.

There was a time when Hikari would not have taken on this mission at all. In truth, she was still loathed to take this mission. And yet, she wanted to continue to grow. She knew that she was currently not at her best, and the only way to gain the levels she wanted to gain was to do some missions. And so, here she was.

Flicking her fan open, she walked straight and narrow towards her destination. She supposed it was better this way, especially since she chose the opportune moment to take this quest. Doing this with others might make this less horrid, and certainly easier to manage. Even with her new levels, she wasn't sure if she can solo missions. Perhaps some time down the road, she might try. For now, however, it would do well for her to meet new people, as well as work with them.

"Hello." Hikari greeted the two that had arrived prior to herself. Both the man and the woman were recognizable to her, though it was the man who she recognized first. "Andy, it is good to see you again." She bowed to the man, before turning to the woman, "And it is nice to meet you as well. We are in both of your care." She bowed again, her swords floating just behind her.

[attr="class","hikareescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] With one of Dee Dee's summons helping, Hikari was able to recover herself. The problem was that, while Dee Dee's summon slowed down the one that had attacked Hikari, it also showed her that the previous goblin had not perished just yet. With a growl, Hikari opened her fan once more, and decided that enough was enough. [break][break] With a sudden urge to kill, Hikari got up and flicked her fan forward. In a blink of an eye, Shotsuren soared through the air once more. She would have to deal with the previous thought-dead goblin first, after all. While the other goblin singed in pained from Dee Dee's dragon summon, she needed to take advantage. [break][break] "Just stop getting up, please." She whispered to herself as Shotsuren shot straight forward to the goblin that was trying to get up. It didn't give the goblin any breathing room at all. Instead, Hikari's sword would pierce through the same wound in which is had first gone through. It ripped through the goblin's heart, straight through its body, making a larger hole than it previously had. [break][break] With that, her second sword finally unsheathed. Daitsuren gleamed in the light, and Hikari grinned. She did not pause at all. Instead, her fan was already in motion, cutting forward as it sent Daitsuren straight towards the second goblin, who had put out the fire than Dee Dee's summon had started on it. No recovery time was provided. Daitsuren, the stronger of the two swords, pierced the goblin on its head, impaling itself on the goblin's forehead. [break][break] Hikari was just about to sigh in relief, when a roar resounded. It seems the large goblin is finally ready to play. [break] |

As the fight winded down, Hikari finally realized that the system had provided her an option for her level ups. It seems as though she had reached level ten, a five level up from where she had been prior. Perhaps killing the skeletons, plus her previous experiences, have finally caught up with her. This was good news, as her stats finally are looking closer to the mission rank.

"Thank you for the food." She bowed, before chowing down on the meal she got. It seems that Dee Dee herself got stronger, which was always good for their part. "I feel comfortable going deeper into the catacombs. I've been here once before as a teenager, but of course, those were different times." And that had been a guided tour, though she was sure she did not go this far into the catacombs prior.

"My level seems to have updated as well. It's a bit lower than I thought, though my main stats are now up-to-par." In that they are now C Rank, which makes this so much easier. As well, Two of her three swords are now out and ready. "As well, I gained a new ability." And the fact that her third sword, Kenmyoren, has finally been unsheathed for the first time.

Her sandwich was quickly eaten, and she enjoyed every bite. Dee Dee's cooking has proved to be a boon in this case. "With my third sword finally unsheathed, I am more than ready to take on what comes next." Kenmyoren was her strongest sword, still untested, but certainly the most formidable. The only one that can match is her Ougi - Yuudachi, which she might not be using this time around. The destructive capabilities is a bit too much in such a cloistered area.

In fact, she worked so well with her summons that she had already taken out three of the six goblins without any problems whatsoever. One day she hoped to match their prowess. For now, however, she would have to make do with what she can do. [break][break] She didn't need to look twice when two more goblins emerged from the shrubbery. Instead of being clothed in armor, they wore scrappy leather, and held slings. These two must be their ranged combatants, and most likely not their most seasoned warriors. The problem was, they were still missing the big boss, the large goblin had not arrived. [break][break] She flicked her fan, and immediately went into combat. Shotsuren was sent towards the first goblin, who, in his surprise, took the short sword straight their heart. Her sword, however, was stuck to the first goblin, leaving her defenseless at the moment. [break][break] "Ah, well this is awkward." She sighed, before having to leap to the side as the second slinging goblin sent a stone at her. At the very least, it seems as though she can manage. With a flick of her fan, she tried to get Shotsuren unstuck. However, the sword would not budge one inch. Another stone was slung, and this time it hit her on her thigh, making her grunt in pain as she stumbled. "That is no way to treat a lady." She bristled, forcing Shotsuren free and ready to strike. Hikari watched as the woman got to work. Having the summons definitely made things easier. Especially since the summons worked as though they were individuals in their own right. They made their attacks, and could take hits in their own right. Fighting alongside them must be a godsend, and having them basically made them your constant partner in missions. Perhaps she truly needed to look towards obtaining her own summon one day.

Speaking of which, she needed to deal with the rest of the skeletons. These ones seem to be the easier ones to take out. She expected something more later on, and possibly use whatever the system gave her as a level up reward. For now, her swords were ready. Lifting up her fan, she got ready for her next move.

She needed to take out out three, hey? This would be a task, though she was sure she can manage. She just needed them to line up. With a glint of her fan, she started her dance.

Hikari was not the focus. Dee Dee and her summons were doing all of that for her. Her swords, however, were another matter. With a flick of her fan, lined up Shotsuren and Daitsuren. The first sword flew in an arc, and caught the attention of the remaining skeletons. It flew thrice around the small area, weaving the skeletons together as they tried to chase the flying light object. That was part of the plan, after all.

"Right there. Line them up, and..." With a flick of her fan once more, Shotsuren sliced through the air and cracked the skulls of the three remaining skeletons. Daitsuren was waiting, and with another flick, the longer sword pierced through the lined up skeleton's already weakened skulls. They shattered easily after Shotsuren's work.

"Oh, how lovely" She smirked at her work, before looking towards Dee Dee.

Upon entering the establishment, Hikari immediately knew that it wasn't as intimidating as she first thought. Pubs and bars were places where she would not have gone to without thought, and without prior planning. As well, the venue must first be canvassed by those who worked for her. Perhaps her head of security. No, this was not an establishment she would have normally gone to.

A quick order, and a quick seat, she turned her attention towards the door. This was the first place she had actually sat down and eaten at. She ordered their special, something along the lines of a sandwich? It didn't matter. After Dee Dee's hamburger, everything else might not taste the same.

After getting her wine, though crude and definitely not up to par, Hikari relaxed and sat herself watching the door. She was hopping she wouldn't see anybody from her old life, though that was always a possibility. It was the reason why she had been avoiding Japan. She didn't want to risk it, although Japan is apparently a dangerous place to be in right now, especially Tokyo.

There was truth in Dee Dee's words. All the fighting, the running, the climbing, and the walking that people do nowadays were on a different level when compared to what people had been used to prior. The energy required to sustain such physical exertions were certainly more than what most are used to consuming. Therefore, having a good and complete, especially healthy diet is very important for peak performance.

"I have been eating food from the system. I suppose it has the proper nutrition, although I've never really cared for the taste." Whatever works, that was what Hikari had thought. She had not had the opportunity of meeting anybody who had the capacity to cook. Nor had she had the notion of finding player-made restaurants. Convenience was her motto at that point.

"I can see how people can miss this. This is amazing." She complimented Dee Dee, before finishing up her meal. She had not had this kind of meal in forever, on occasion in the old world, but certainly never here. "I can definitely see why you have a lot of regulars. Hikari was patient in all matters, especially when it came to combat. She nodded at Dee Dee's plan, and got ready to pounce at the opportunity presented. She did not move an inch as Dee Dee did her job, while her swords were trained forward, ready to shatter and break the skulls of the skeletons that will be within their sights soon.

It was good that Hikari did not have to be in the frontlines. Being safe in the rear, while controlling her swords with her fan, made everything much safer for the woman. Besides, projectiles are easily dodged at this range, especially as she continues to grow her speed.

Once the skeletons were in range, Hikari burst into action. With a flick of her fan, both Shotsuren and Daitsuren immediately hurtled their way towards two different skeletons. Shotsuren found its mark on a skeleton that had been previously attacked, and immediately shattered its skull. Daitsuren found its way into the eye socket, and then out the back of the skull of another skeleton.

Both of her swords came back to her, and she held herself ready for her next assault.

When Dee Dee mentioned levels, Hikari immediately turned to her menu and looked. To her surprise, it had a specific message detailing how she had leveled up, and her actual level will be updated in a moment. It seems that killing those bats had triggered a level up for her, though now she wasn't sure which level she would be at now.

"The difficult part with answering that question is that I just leveled up, and the system says it is currently updating my current level. Though, I can certainly say I am in the eleven range." She typed into the messaging system as requested, before turning her attention towards the skeletons.

"Speaking of which, we might be able to herd them forward, and then funnel them to your summons and my sword." She can stay in the backline, after all. "I will strike where the skeletons are open, while your summons do what they do best." They were all formidable, and Hikari had seen them in action. With her support, they should be able to wipe this group out. The skirmish shouldn't be too bad.

Shotsuren already unsheathed, and Daitsuren followed suit. Both swords were at the ready, gleaming as they were immediately both aimed at two skeletons. Shatter the skull, that was her plan. For that to work, she needed to be precise with her movements.

Within was a store of knowledge that had been compiled by the woman herself, as well as her friends who might have contributed. Hikari learned about monsters, terrain, and tactics from just one night of studying its pages. Goblins were one of the ones she had looked at briefly. [break][break] "I know a brief summary." She responded in kind, before taking up with the formation. Instead of disrupting what the summon group already had, she made herself useful by taking up the rear. Her swords were floating beside and behind her to deter any attacks, and illicit and easier response from her. [break][break] Comfortable where she was, she responded, "I will take up the rear guard, supporting you." Hikari bowed slightly. "I trust your expertise more, and the teamwork of your summons is impeccable. Instead, my swords will strike when appropriate and with precision. I can control them from afar." She then opened up her fan and started moving it back and forth, generating a small gust of air that seemed to make stir the floating swords around her.
