As Andy walked down the street toward where he was supposed to the others assigned to the mission he saw a familiar face. Waiting under the streetlight as if in an old French film was Hana. Her jacket with the annoying face of Earth-chan on it helped the image. Although normally it would be a long trench coat or fur-lined coat, it would have to do. All she was missing was a cigarette. [break][break] When she looked around the street he waved at her to get her attention. Andy wasn't sure if she'd remember him since they'd only met once before, but seeing her again sent a shiver down his spine. He hadn't forgotten how uncomfortable he was during their last meeting. For him at least. Hopefully this time it would go better. From what he remembered of Hana she was strong so they shouldn't have to worry about much. Or at least she should be if she's a guild leader. [break][break] “Oh Westley how wrong you were. I hope we meet a better fate than he did in that swamp.” Andy chuckled. “You ready to exterminate some rats?” |

There was a time when Hikari would not have taken on this mission at all. In truth, she was still loathed to take this mission. And yet, she wanted to continue to grow. She knew that she was currently not at her best, and the only way to gain the levels she wanted to gain was to do some missions. And so, here she was.

Flicking her fan open, she walked straight and narrow towards her destination. She supposed it was better this way, especially since she chose the opportune moment to take this quest. Doing this with others might make this less horrid, and certainly easier to manage. Even with her new levels, she wasn't sure if she can solo missions. Perhaps some time down the road, she might try. For now, however, it would do well for her to meet new people, as well as work with them.

"Hello." Hikari greeted the two that had arrived prior to herself. Both the man and the woman were recognizable to her, though it was the man who she recognized first. "Ugh, rats. At least we don't have to go into the sewers or anything this time." She made a face at the memory of her last trip to Paris. "Oh, it's Miss Hikari! Nice to see you again!" Hana bowed properly in return, smiling again on the way up.

"So, how do we wanna do this? Just head down an alley? Or, like, find somewhere else they're all grouped up?" She'd been taking the lead a lot lately, which she was prepared to do again, but maybe they had some better ideas than to just rush in and start smacking giant rats around.

Andy was glad that the woman remembered him. Hana seemed to brighten up when he approached so she remembered him fondly thankfully. However, his smile drooped when she asked who Westley was. “Hey Hana. Uh... Westley from the movie? The Prince Groom?” Maybe it was a joke he didn't get. “Oh we don't? I thought that going into the sewer would be the most likely place to find rats. Or a subway station maybe?”[break][break] When Andy heard the sound of a fan opening behind him he felt a sudden chill. Hearing her voice only confirmed what he already knew. She was here. While having a guild leader on his side would make this mission a breeze having Hikari with him only ensured success. He wasn't sure what Hana could do, but the other woman was a born hunter. He nodded to her in response to her greeting. “It's good to see you again as well, Hikari.”[break][break] “I thought we were going to go into the sewers. Alleys work too. Hikari looked towards both of her companions for this mission and smiled. Perhaps this will be an easier mission after all. Andy was someone he had already worked with, and was very good at what he did. Though she really didn't know much of what he can do, besides being really quick with his knife. Hana, being a guild leader, was expected to be the strongest of them all. Hikari was excited to see what the woman can do.

"Perhaps we can make our lives easier by setting up a bait for the rats. We can funnel them in one area, and then deal with them as a whole." She looked inquiringly at the two, before shrugging, "Although I don't have any means to bait them, unfortunately. "Movie?" Hana looked confused for a moment, before the conversation continued on. "No sewers, please..." The musician shook her head at the suggestion, making quite the face. "Subway would be better! If we split up, it shouldn't be for long. Just to, like, reposition and then, uh, surround them." She was sure there was a better way to explain that, but she was still figuring out the whole leadership thing.

Hikari's suggestion got Hana nodding. "Right, something like that." She took a moment to think it over. "...if Dee Dee was here, she'd probably have a bunch of tomatoes to put out for them. I've got some food in my inventory, but..." The teen perked up. "Ah, Mr. Andy, you probably have ingredients and stuff we could use, right?"

Seeming confident with this plan of attack, she looked around the area again. There was definitely signs of rat activity in the area. She could see them...and smell them. "Miss Hikari can go around the long way here, to come out on the other side of that alley. Mr. Andy can walk in and set up a little snack. And when the rats come out to investigate, Miss Hikari can pop out!" She held out her hands, as a pair of gloves equipped from her inventory.

"I'll fly down and smash 'em, so Mr. Andy won't be alone for long." A moment later, a rather large battle hammer popped into existence, held in both of her hands. The head seemed to be made of some gigantic bone. "This should be easy enough that I don't need to transform or do anything else special for it, I bet." The teen smiled brightly to the two of them, ready to move forward with this plan of attack if they both approved.

Andy decided it was best to just move on from the subject of the movie. Hana didn't seem to know what he was talking about and there were more important matters at hand. She was also very averse to the sewers for some reason. Perhaps she had a bad experience the last time she came to Paris or maybe something to do with rats? [break][break] At least Hikari had a good idea. Andy was loathe to waste ingredients on bait for street rats, but at the moment he didn't have a much better idea. “Yeah I have something we can use,” he grumbled as he pulled some stew meat from his inventory. Even though it was lower quality just tossing it away like this hurt. “Sounds like a plan. I'll put out the bait and we'll attack when they come.” He couldn't help but grimace when he called the food bait. He was curious about what Hana meant by transforming, but it was most likely a part of her Class. The large hammer was a bit out of place on the girl and caused him to raise an eyebrow. She was much stronger than she looked. [break][break] After confirming the area that they wanted to fight in Andy scattered the cubed meat on the ground to attract the rats. Once he was satisfied he found a hiding place nearby to ambush the rats from. This seemed to be a trend when he worked with Hikari. It took more time for the rats to catch the scent of the fresh meat compared to something that was rotting, but eventually, they came. Six of them. An easy task for a party of three. [break][break] Andy pulled the Spell Blade from his back and prepared himself to attack the pests. Once they were in place he jumped from his spot toward the nearest rat. "Now!" As he swung the blade down into its side dark red letters filled the arc with the word 'psychoneuroendocrinological'. The rat let out a loud squeak as it fell to the ground. One down. His new weapon worked just as well as expected. |

The plan was sound, and looking at Hana, it seems as though she had more up her sleeve than what she had initially thought. She nodded at her every word, listening carefully while peeking at the map. It would be wise for Hikari to keep distance, at least to start. She'll have to move with caution, though she had complete faith in her allies. Andy was good with his knives, and Hana, well you don't become a guild leader by not being strong in your own right.

"That sounds like a sound plan." She responded, before looking towards Andy, "I'm sure we can find a replacement ingredient later on. We can go on a hunt for some meat if you'd like." Hikari nodded towards the man, before making her way around the area.

Hana had said something about transforming. Hikari would have wanted to see this transformation, and she might just ask the woman about that later on. For now, she focused on the task at hand. Hiding just beneath the shadows of the building, she watched as the bait struck gold. In total, there were five. When Andy struck, so did she.

Shotsuren was already out, and with a flick of her fan, it sailed towards its intended target. It stabbed a rat in its eye, though the rat itself still thrashed around. Hikari stepped forward, and she unfolded her other fan. The otherworldly flame from Onibi-sensu floated towards the thrashing rat. The heat from it signed its fur, before ultimately making the rat shiver in pain and then collapsing into its death. Hikari stood silently by the shadows, eyes gleaming as she eyed her next target.

Hana hoped Andy wasn't too upset about wasting resources. Dee Dee had a magic tomato for her food cart, so she'd just assumed he had some sort of replenishing ingredients for his class as well. As the other two headed out, she bent slightly before hopping into the air, sound waves emanating from her sneakers as she bounded through the air. Half jogging, half jumping, but it allowed her to quickly climb above the alleyway.

Hikari circled around to get in position as well, while Andy laid the trap and found a hiding place of his own. She merely hovered above, keeping an eye out. Smiling as the oversized rodents began to venture out of the shadows to investigate the free food. The chef cried out as he attacked, and Hikari appeared right on time. Now Hana needed to join them!

"Incoming!" That was all the warning the two received, before she entered the alley. Well, her hammer entered first, squashing one rat into the ground well before she dove back down. Strangely the creature simply exploded into a pile of fur and a detached tail, rather than anything more gruesome.

"Now, how many more are left? Three?" The musician zipped past Andy to grab the tail of another beast that'd been preparing to pounce on him. With a grunt, she flung it up into the air, little legs flailing. "Two?" Readying her hammer to wait for the unlucky rat to descend back into range.

Hikari's attempt to soothe him was surprising after his last experience with the woman. He'd thought she was simply cold and vicious, but maybe there was more to her than he thought. “Thank you Hikari. I think I'll take you up on that.” That wasn't the only surprise, however. Suddenly Hana started jumping around like a rabbit while holding that enormous hammer. [break][break] The plan worked well as his companions took down a rat of their own. Once again Hana did something out of the ordinary as the rat she squashed seemingly vanished and was replaced by bits of fur. Where had all the meat gone? Andy didn't have time to worry about that though as there were three more rats to deal with. Well, two since Hana got her hands on a second one. [break][break] After seeing their friends get quickly taken down in brutal ways the last two rats began to scurry away. Not that Andy would allow that to happen. It was time to show Hana that she wasn't the only one who could jump around like an anime character. His eyes glowed with a dark red light as a large skinning knife appeared in his other hand. He crouched down on the ground before springing up into the air toward his prey. [break][break] While he descended he scanned the rat's body for a red spot to aim for. The arc of his sword spelled out 'Floccinaucinihilipilification' as it swung down into the rat's back along with his skinning knife. It split the fleeing animal in two as Andy landed. “Two left now!” |

Swinging her hammer like a bat, the rat Hana had hefted into the air was now sent flying, rocketing into the sky until it disappeared with a faint twinkle. She turned her attention back to the alley as Andy zipped off towards his own prey. The blonde was rather surprised to see him moving like that. Was it the shoes?

"Just one left!" Andy had stopped the escape of one rat, but another had taken its chance to flee while they were distracted. "Ah, not so fast!" Hana pulled the hammer behind her, before waving for Andy to move to the side. "Look out!"

After a moment, the reason why became clear. As she began to lift the hammer up, the handle extended...further and further, the head of the weapon rising far above the nearby building as it too grew larger. By the time the growth had finished, she was able to bring the business end of the weapon down on the rat that had exited down the far end of the alley, smashing it into the open street. "Got it! Uh, sorry!" The hammer popped out of existence as she stored it back in her inventory to get it out of Andy's way.

No sooner did Andy slay the rat in front of him than Hana piped up letting him know she took out another one. Most likely the one she threw into the air just moments before. The other rat next to him began to bolt and his companion spoke up again. He looked up to see what she was talking about, expecting another rat. [break][break] It certainly wasn't a rat. [break][break] Andy quickly ducked out of the way of the oncoming hammer. Had he been slower he may have gotten hit by it, but what was the use of bickering? She apologized anyway. Why spoil a good night? It was almost over anyways since Hana crushed the last rat. [break][break] Once the hammer was safely stored back in her inventory Andy walked over to her. “No need to be sorry. Everything turned out fine after all. I can see why you're a Guild Master.” He looked around to make sure nothing was hiding. “Looks like we're all done. Let's get out of here.” |
