Hikari paused a moment, before smiling as she stood in front of what looked to be a maze. She had been tipped off by the System that there was some form of dungeon here, one of a kind, and the first one to have popped up since Hikari herself had been sent back to this world from god knows where. To Hikari, this was a challenge worth attempting, and something she was sure she would enjoy. If not for the combat, then for the experience of beating it.

The cavern which housed this maze looked to old, yet sturdy enough. Hikari knew she wouldn't have to worry about cave ins at all. Pausing a moment, she opened up her System messaging to try and find a nearby person whom she knew, and one name stood out.

Dee Dee, I seem to have stumbled upon a dungeon. Since you're close-by, would you like to tackle it with me? She paused a moment, before continuing the message, I'll be waiting for you by the entrance. She sent the message, before settling herself for a short wait.

The family was not known to her, though she had heard of the name. They weren't as tied to the Eastern markets perhaps, or had little dealings with Japan in general. Which was, while rare, not unlikely. Many of the European countries and their aristocracy held themselves from investing in foreign powers, at least ones that were not close enough for them to watch over. [break][break] "I'm sorry to say that I only know of the family by name." She shook her head slightly. "Though I'm sure you must be happy to not be in service anymore, hm?" She smiled at Sylvia, before now slowly looking towards the pathways set before her. "I'll be back." Hikari took off silently. [break][break] The woman was a predator on the hunt for her prey. She was not one to shy away from the grueling work and instead was fond of using her skills. So much so that she started to bound through the trees, using an uprooted tree as a springboard to get onto a hanging branch, before jumping from tree to tree. Curiously, all of her movements were silent, unheard, and unnoticed. She spotted the deer and smirked. It was far at all. [break][break] It's close. Are you ready? Hikari sent a message to Sylvia through the System. Once she responds, Hikari would drive the creature towards the general area where she had left the woman at, and hopefully towards their trap. She looked at her a moment, studying her features, before asking "Are you, perhaps, a maid from a prominent family?" She followed it up, "If you were, perhaps I knew of them?" She had had quite a few maids prior, while her father kept a butler as though he were an European aristocrat. It was one of the practices that had proliferated in the Japanese aristocracy prior to, and just after World War Two. [break][break] "Of course, you need not answer. I am too curious, it seems..." She trailed off, before holding out her sword, and letting the other three float beside her. "In any case, we shouldn't have any problems skinning, nor cutting up the animal. My swords should be able to handle it." It wouldn't be pretty cuts, but it would do. "Or perhaps we can just take it back whole, let the villages do with it as they will." She would shrug at that, before looking towards where the cat-girl seems to have found tracks. [break][break] Hikari turned her attention to the fresh tracks, and quickly fell in step with them. She made sure to be wearing her crown, giving her an advantage over tracking and from being detected by the wild animal. "Perhaps we can lure it with berries. What do you think, Sylvia?" Turning her attention to the woman, she gave her a tilting smile. "And then, you can lay the traps out as I subtly lead the deer here using this." She pointed towards her Crown of Antlers. [break] |

Hikari looked into the mirror, and it wasn't her face that stared back at her. No, it was of someone else, and it irked her to no end. Was this Earth-Chan's idea of a joke? If it was, then she was certainly not laughing. One of the things she took pride in was her appearance, of who she was, and how it can never be truly taken away from her. And yet...

Though, if she were being honest, this face was certainly beautiful. Well-shaped and framed by beautiful white-blonde hair, Hikair felt slightly jealous. She squashed it down, however, unwilling to let herself spiral down. Instead, she looked up as she a sound caught her attention.

"Hana?" Hikari spoke up as she saw her guild master poke her head out of her apartment. She paused a moment as she let her guild master answer whatever message she got, walking towards the woman with curiosity etched on her face. "It looks like you're prepping to head out. Perhaps I can join you." She asked, knowing that she was nothing anyway, and therefore this was a more than valid way of spending her day.

If and when she gets her guild master's consent, she will head out with her. Kairi would curl herself up around Hikari, the Angelic Serpent cradling its face into her master's.

Hikari strolled through the streets of London aimlessly. She had just finished a mission in Paris, and was hoping to get some form of rest and relaxation before looking towards her next quarry. The woman had been hard at work recently, and her level gains show it. She held out her hand, and a serpentine dragon materialized. Kairi had been wanting this as well, though Hikari blamed it on the young nature of her summon.

And so, here she was. And yet, as she turned a corner, a message popped up. Another roll for the Halloween event? She shook her head, before clicking and closing the window, not even bothering to look at the result.

She didn't notice her height changing, nor her hair, eyes, and her body.

Rounding another corner, she found herself looking at a few familiar faces. Contemplating for a second, she nodded to herself before striding forward. "Hello Dee Dee...and friends?" She tentatively asked, smiling though realizing that her voice sounded different. "I..." Dread dropped in her stomach, and she quickly opened up her inventory to grab a mirror.

"I see that the System is pulling a fast one on me. Changing my appearance? Truly?" She scoffed, now looking like a princess of some sort. "I apologize Dee Dee and friends. This isn't what I usually look like. My name is Hikari, Uesugi Hikari." She bowed towards everyone slightly, before letting Kairi come forward. "And this Angelic Serpent is Kairi. Say hello, little one." Kairi would unfold her wings and bowed, as though copying her summoner.

[break][break] She looked forward, before nodding. "I'm thinking we can set-up traps for this mission. That way we're not running after creatures, which can be quite tedious." Hikari watched as the giant skeleton crumbled into nothingness. She nodded to herself, before turning her attention back to Dee Dee. She looked knackered, and very much not in commission anymore. Hikari herself felt no better, but she was managing somehow. Perhaps it was the adrenaline still coursing through her. And the fact that Kairi was now snuggling up to her, using her healing aura to soothe her aches and pains.

She started making her way to Dee Dee. She paused only to pick off two straggler skeletons which tried to stab her. A quick one-two with Murakumo and her fist made quick work of them.

"Dee Dee, I hope you're feeling alright?" She asked as she finally got to the girl. "I suppose this was the Halloween Trick by the System?" Hikari looked around, her now-sheathed sword staying by her side.

Taking a glance around, she reassured people who were still lingering. Those around her who had been hiding were now starting to emerge from their hiding spots. While those who had fought were coming back, bruised but alive. The skeletons themselves weren't too much of a threat, however, they were very dangerous when in a hoard. "I think it's time we went on our way." Hikari looked around, satisfied that everything seemed to be safe now.

Hikari started her way towards where people had pointed her towards. She had been procuring keys to this "forge", and she was curious as to what the fanfare was. She knew that this place could make items stronger, better, and more useful than what they were now. Hikari looked towards the sword slung on her hip, and smiled.

She was here for a reason, after all. As she passed through the various smithies, all empty and broken, she finally found herself staring at the only smithy that looked open. The door was closed to her. Hikari walked forward, before a prompt stopped her. She opened her inventory to reveal the two half keys. It became a single key, before letting her inside the door.

She had been taking some time off in the countryside, especially after going through an onslaught of missions just to level up. Perhaps she had been taking things a bit too seriously, looking to keep gaining levels and surpassing those she knew and have kept acquaintances with. And yet, this was a world that valued strength, and she was not one to be caught lacking. [break][break] And of course, this was the reason why she was standing outside of this tiny village, waiting for her partner for the mission she just accepted. It was a simple hunting mission, and Hikari knew that it would be a breeze for her. However, she was going to get points from this mission, so it truly wasn't a waste of time. Menial tasks were relaxing for her. She was never one to idle, after all. [break][break] She brushed her hand against her new dress, a qipao, and smiled. It was a beautiful make, and one she was sure would be very useful indeed. Her sword, Murakumo, was on her side as per usual, while her swords floated aimlessly around her. Hikari felt the buff on her. The message from Dee Dee made it even more concrete as a message appeared on her screen. She glanced at her swords, realizing that there was only one ability she could use in order to fully utilize this buff from Dee Dee. The excitement shot through her system, and she grinned.

The limits to her class were unbound, and she was sure that her ability might just cause too much destruction. And yet, as she watched the huge skeleton amble forward, Hikari knew that the risk was worth it. Lives were at stake, and she was not going to go down without a fight. Not when she could do something about it.

She sheathed Murakumo, and started jumping and gliding through the roof tops. The sword was nifty in the sense that it gave her such flexibility with movement. The archers kept shooting at her, and they kept missing. Her only focus was getting to the giant skeleton. She sent a quick message to Dee Dee, Good luck, and don't worry. I'll deal with this giant one.

When she got close enough, Hikari's swords all sheathed themselves. The giant skeleton didn't even notice her, being so small when compared to its size. Hikari took it in stride and held out her hand. "Ougi - Yuudachi." The sky darkened, and celestial swords started raining down on the giant skeleton. Unlike before, Hikari could feel the tremendous amount of power that was added to her attack. It shredded the beast into oblivion, making it scream in pain as it turned to dust under the assault.

Hikari wanted Kurai to experience combat at a higher level. But at the same time, she knew that these sentries were far out-leveling her brother. However, that didn't mean Kurai was useless. Hikari knew that perhaps she and Hana could soften up the third for Kurai to take the kill.

She took her sword, before dashing forward. Hikari saw Hana doing the same and only nodded to herself. At the very least, Kurai had the support of two higher-level people. She was confident in her abilities, although having Hana here with her made her feel much more comfortable. She knew that she could trust her guild master to have her back, or in this case, her brother's.

"Kurai, get ready!" Hikari shot past Kurai, before taking Murakumo. She dodged at one of its swings, before getting underneath and propelling herself upwards. She sliced through the sentry's arm clean through. It made the sentry bot stagger toward Hana.

This opened the sentry bot to an attack. She hoped that Kurai would take it. IF not, Daitsuren was already on stand-by, ready to slice through the robot's neck before she followed it up with Murakumo.

All the while, Hikari turned her attention towards the home itself. There were sentry bots, yes, but what did the home contain? There must be more robots inside ready to pounce on them. Sentient AI that were ready to massacre those who trespassed. She maintained a grip on her sword, blood boiling at the thought. This was her home, and no matter what, she was going to reclaim it. The System was not going to take anything else from her. She hated her father, but she hated being controlled even more. And this "System" proved itself to be much more terrifying than her father.

Hikari looked towards her friend, before chuckling, "Oh, it's fine. To be honest, there are less and less classy places that exist in this world. Class equals not having rats run around at your feet these days." The woman smiled, a rare one, before turning her attention around the place.

She nodded as Ravenna talked of getting her ass kicked. That was bound to happen to everyone now and then. "It'll be fine. You're here, which means you can go back tomorrow and kick their asses." That was Hikari's mentality, at least. "There's only up when you're down right?"

Nodding towards the barkeep, before two drinks were delivered to them. Their finest, Hikari assumed. "This round's on me." Taking the drink, she took a sip. It was passable, at the very least.

"So, besides today, how's life going?" It was a day-to-day basis for a lot of people, especially those who were actively trying to obtain levels. "I hope there haven't been too many hearts broken by you these past few weeks?" Hikari smiled coyly at the woman, before turning her attention towards the people around them. Ravenna was a beautiful woman, and she certainly attracted attention. It was one of the things she enjoyed, watching the woman wrap men around her fingers.

A Continuation of Gutter Crawl Mission Thread

From the corner of her eye, Hikari can see Dee Dee's summon doing their best in eliminating the threats around them. She was eternally grateful for their help. It was just so interesting to see how one person can technically do so many things with the amount of summons they have. It was like having four arms, but better.

For her part, Hikari quickly dispatched one more skeleton. She eyed those in front, and considered herself lucky that this was a lower ranked mission. If it were higher, the chances of her being able to dodge these arrows would be lower. Her core worked very well when her SPD stat was higher than her opponents, and it was working wonders right now.

Taking a page from Dee Dee, Hikari sent Kairi forward. Her summon blasted the skeleton archer with her breath attack, before Hikari followed it up with Murakumo slicing through it. She hopped, skipped, and jumped around, using Daitsuren and Kenmyoren to dispatch two others, before crushing one with a shadowed claw.

When she heard Dee Dee's voice, she paused to smile. She had heard it before, though it must have been once only. It was a screech, something that irked her, but it was always great to hear Dee Dee. Suddenly, movement in front caught her attention. Just beyond the street, a lumbering giant was heading towards them. Hikari frowned, before shouting at Dee Dee, "Dee Dee! Look over there!" The giant skeleton turned the corner, slowly lumbering towards them. It was the size of a tall building, and certainly a challenge to take down for any regular citizen. Good thing Hikari and Dee Dee were anything but.
