Hikari nodded as Dee Dee gave her a thumbs up. She was happy that her small friend was safe and very curious as to the advantages of being her height. It seems that there are advantages to being small in stature after all. Hikari knew that she would have hit the wall if she had gotten caught in that trap, though unlikely nowadays due to her speedy reactions.

"That's true. It seems the traps themselves are generic in their form, though we haven't seen any monsters come up at all. I feel like dungeons such as these would have monsters roaming around. Perhaps they're part of other traps?" She mused, lifting her sword before sheathing both in a flourish.

She followed Dee Dee, before they paused at a stone. She took a peek at it a moment, before nodding.

"Let me check it this time." Hikari hit the stone, before moving into the corridor. There was a short delay, before blades appeared high and low, beginning to saw their way towards Hikari. The woman, for her part, only shrugged and spun, doing a roll mid-air in between the high and the low blades. When she got to the other side, Hikari turned back to Dee Dee. "Safe! Though that was a time-delay trap, I believe?"

Hikari turned her attention back to the guild's current base as she stepped through the portal. It still looked the same as usual, and she was quite happy that it did. Neo-Tokyo was still considered one of the most dangerous places in the world, and therefore anything can happen to their little safe haven. She was just glad that Earth-chan had not turned its attention to them.

Looking at Sylvia, she smiled. "Welcome to ANTHEM's home base. At least, this is our current one." She knew that they were on the verge of retaking her old ancestral home to become a base of sorts. Perhaps once that is completed, Hikari and Sylvia might relocate themselves there. It would be nice to live in her father's room for a change, especially since she knew it would piss him off if he were still alive.

Looking back at the building, she saw the very person she had been hoping to see. "Ah, Hana." She waved to the woman, before bringing up Sylvia with her slowly. "Sylvia, that is Hana, our guild leader. I'm sure she'd be more than happy to set you up with us. And you as well." She ended that with a small nod to Sylvia's summon catgirl maid.

Hikari watched as Dee Dee kept moving forward. She was about to warn her, but before she could, the trap sprung on her.

There was a moment when Hikari stood stock still, watching everything happen in slow motion. She unsheathed her swords Murakumo and Habakiri, and was ready to pounce after the woman before she saw her almost hitting what looked to be a trap...wall? Was the point of all this to make a person splat? Now that was entirely mean.

"Let's go check up on your master." Hikari leapt forward in unrelenting speed, smashing through the wall with both of her swords, before landing in front of Dee Dee. She looked at the woman, who seemed roughed up, but otherwise find, before nodding.

"Have to be careful there, Dee Dee." She stared forward, towards one of the forks they had taken previously. "Do you want to take the lead on this one? Be careful though..." She left it off as she Kairi slithered into existence, covering her master's body with its own as though for protection.

Hikari nodded and watched as the spikes shifted itself back to what it was previously. This dungeon was not made to be hard at all. Rather, it was trapped in a way that people who were not careful, or those with not high enough stats. Hikari knew that her reflexes would've been fast enough to avoid the trap. For others, however? That might not likely be the case.

Turning her attention back to Dee Dee's observations, she nodded before moving on.

"I feel like the walls are man-made, or at least, it was made by an entity. Nature never made straight lines. Which means a lot of the traps might be on the wall." She continued on, before stopping at a corridor which they had not gone through. It was barren, except for the torches around. And it was quiet, too quiet.

Turning her attention back to Dee Dee, she pointed forward. "Like that, for example. You almost can see the trap, but you just don't know when or where it would tripped."

Hikari turned towards the maze once more, though she lingered a moment at the room itself to survey what they have wrought. It looks like, as she had thought prior, that the cave was man-made looking to look as though it was natural. There were just too many straight lines along the edges of the wall for it to have been made by nature.

She paused a moment, before following Dee Dee.

"Keep sharp, I'm sure there are more traps we were not able to trigger." She looked ahead, before slowly making her way forward. "Also, I feel as though Earth-chan is not one to make this maze the same twice in a row for people. With how this world works, nothing is ever that easy...perhaps we can document the traps we see instead?" This world operated on the premise of "Survival of the Fittest", but in levels and stats. Hikari would not be surprised to find that this maze changed with every single attempt.

Turning a small corner, she peered at the ground for a moment, before waving Dee Dee over. "Look here, is that..." There were holes on the ground, and something glinted within those holes. "Those are spike traps, right?"

Hikari watched as the guardian crumbled. She wasn't sure what Dee Dee had done, though from what it looked like, she had summoned a spectral copy of the guardian to finish it off. It was poetic in its own way, especially with how much the guardian seemed to have damaged Dee Dee and her summons. Just desserts.

When Dee Dee handed her a tomato, she obliged. Hikari took the tomato from her and took a bite. It was delicious, as expected. She felt her health going up, and the pains she had been experiencing decreasing in intensity. Oh she could still feel it, of course. But the way the world works now, stat system and all, changed how people "healed" from their aches, pains, and wounds.

"Thank you, Dee Dee. Are all of your summons alright?" She looked towards the summons. Kairi herself was hiding for now, Hikari made sure that she wasn't out and about for dangerous bosses such as these. Perhaps in the next boss fight, her healing services might be required.

"I think we're done here, though..." She looked towards the exit, but then paused. "Did you want to take a look around before we head on?"

Hikari looked around, surveying the damage done from her attacks. It looks like the guardian was slowly losing strength and ground, which meant that they were doing damage. Pains shot through her back as she shifted around atop the guardian, before she squashed it aside. It was no time to dwell on her injuries, time was at stake here when it comes to defeating this boss.

All of a sudden, Hikari felt something boost her stats. She looked at her status screen, and realized that one of Dee Dee's buffs had been placed on her. She had seen and used this buff before, understanding that her next attack is going to deal a lot of damage. And there was little time to spare as she watched one of Dee Dee's summons being taken into the guardian's grasps.

"Oh no you don't." Hikari warned as she leapt over the guardian, raising Murakumo, and slamming it down onto the guardian's arm that had grasped Dee Dee's summon. It cracked the arm, and then shattered it whole, leaving the guardian with one less arm.

Hikari followed it up with Daitsuren being shoved straight into the guardian's chest, cracking its exterior. The amount of damage done to the guardian was enough to make it fall to its knees, but not enough to stop it from attacking Hikari, who could not do much but take the hit.

The woman flew backwards, landing on the ground softly as she righted herself midair. "Last hit, Dee Dee!" She shouted, hoping that Dee Dee and her summons could take it down now with all the damage it had sustained from all of her attacks.

Hikari looked on as the golem was about to grab Dee Dee. She was about to jump towards Dee Dee, getting into the path of the reaching hand, before Dee Dee seemed to have done something that stopped the creature. Instead, it paused, before bellowing as the sound reverberated throughout the cave.

Then it did something Hikari thought to be easy to dodge. IT lifted its leg, and stomped. At first, Hikari felt the tremors only, before the shock came afterwards as she flew off the golem. She quickly pivoted in mid-air, and instead of hitting the wall face first, she used it as a springboard to land onto the ground gently.
[break][break]
She could feel bruising on her leg as she shifted, and pain shot through her back when she moved. It seems that the shock and tremor of the stomp had affected her more than just having been thrown off. She had not taken this extensive of a damage for a long while now, and it made her feel...alive.

"Going high again!." She announced, using the extended leg of the guardian as a springboard up towards its head. It tried to smash her with its fist, but Hikari's speed was too much for it and the guardian missed by a hair.
[break][break]
Once on top of the guardian's head, Hikari drew Murakumo and stabbed it and its twin, Habakiri, onto the guardian's head. With a flick of her hand, Daitsuren unsheathed and would strike the guardian's shoulder, trying to pin it in place like a wedge. "Try that on for size." Hikari jumped off after, soaring away as she watched the guardian take her damage, and now hunt for its victim.

Looking towards the now-moving golem in front of them. She watched as it opened itself, and glowered at them. It flexed its stone fingers, as though getting ready for a fight, while it shook off the dust that had accumulated on it since time immemorial. Turning her attention to the cave walls, she realized that fighting around the golem was going to be too difficult, so instead...

"Dee Dee, I'm taking the high ground." She announced, before running towards the golem. Midway, she rushed to a wall and started running up and over the golem. The guardian had been moving towards their position, but with Hikari's speed, she was able to meet up more than halfway towards them.
[break][break]
Hikari propelled herself towards the guardian, using the momentum of running up the wall to land herself on its shoulder. With a flourish, she stabbed the creature on its head with Murakumo, while using Habakiri to stab into the creature's shoulders, using it as a sort of anchor for her as she rode the golem.
[break][break]
"See how you like this." She said to herself, before making a gesture and closing her fist, channeling fear and causing spectral claws to rip into the golem, cleansing two instances of [Delirium] caused by her aura and her attack to deal damage using Nightmare's Promise.

She kept herself on edge, however, ready to jump or sprint away when the golem turned its attention towards her.

Most of the villagers cheered at the hunt, especially since this giant deer could feel them for at least a week while waiting for their harvest. Their smaller numbers made sharing much easier. Hikari watched in horror as Dee Dee was chased by the logs. She had not thought that the girl wouldn't have some way of dealing with it, and therefore had made her move. Now, in hindsight, Dee Dee's utility skills have always been something to do with her summons.

Feeling bad, Hikari raced forward, shouting, "I'm coming, Dee Dee!" She held her sword aloft, realizing quickly that the path was sloped down, and it gave the logs even more momentum. Hikari growled under her breath, before slicing the first log, shattering it as she moved forward, thinning away the logs as it barreled to Dee Dee.

She couldn't stop the impact, though she was there to dig Dee Dee out. Her swords, Murakumo and Habakiri, made quick work of the first few logs, shattering them as she used her entire power to go through the logs. It wouldn't take long for Dee Dee herself to dig her way out, letting Hikari sigh in relief at seeing the woman.

"Thank goodness you're safe, Dee Dee. I should've done more to help you there. I apologize." She bowed her head in apology, before turning her attention forward once more. Perhaps there was more? She listened carefully, before nodding in satisfaction that there wasn't. "Shall we continue?"

Her strides quickly took her to an antechamber of some sort. It was larger, and certainly roomier. In the middle of the cave room stood what looked to be a guardian of sorts. And at the very end was the entrance to...somewhere.

Hikari's steps made no sound as they kept going, though she was very wary of the ground beneath her, and the walls surrounding them. The cave walls were less cave-like. This was certainly carved out, crudely, but still man-made. Perhaps this was meant to take someone's attention away from potential traps, especially along the walls. Speaking of...

She heard the click first. Kairi was on edge, and Hikari immediately pulled out her blades as the first arrows whizzed by. She saw them coming, and deflected some while letting the others whiz past her harmlessly. She weaved through the arrows like water, unscathed.

"Ah, just as I thou-" She heard another click. This time, she had little time to fully dodge as she weaved to the right, causing whatever the projectile was to miss her, but not without damage. She felt the icing hit her cheek as a streak of what looked to be pie icing splattered onto the wall behind them. The streak on her cheek was light, but still quite an embarrassment.

"I suppose this is Earth-chan's idea of a joke?" She glowered a moment, before wiping away the streak. After a few more turns, they encountered another fork in the road. "Ah...let's see..." Hikari held out her finger, just like before, and gauged the air. "This way." She finally said confidently, turning left this time.

It didn't take long for them to trigger another trap. This time, it was down low as Hikari realized logs were rolling on the ground, trying to take adventurers out by their shins. Hikari immediately leaped onto the walls and used it as though it were the floor, confidently walking and leaping from one side to the other, aided by her swords' ability.

Hikari nodded, smiling as Dee Dee appeared. She was very grateful that the woman was available and at the very least, close by. The woman was one of the few she could trust when it came to more difficult missions, which was becoming her daily, or weekly, excursion. With the way she has grown these past few months, the damage and her abilities now were far from what she had once been.

She opened up her system messaging, before putting it into one side so that her vision would not impeded. It would be in her periphery, which would catch her attention if Dee Dee sent her a message.

"I have the messaging set up. Shall we?" Hikari nodded as she took the lead into the Outer Maze. "I brought an escape route as well, just in case. Although I'm sure we will be fine!" She smiled at the woman as they descended into the pseudo-darkness.

The maze itself was lighted by torches, making dim shadows that made the place visible, but only just. The path led forward, before a fork made Hikari stop a moment. She looked around, before lifting a finger after placing it on her lips. "Just looking to see where the airflow is going..." She paused, before smiling. "This way." She pointed to the right, before looking at Dee Dee. "I feel like there might be traps from here on out. So be careful, yeah?" Kairi wrapped herself around Hikari, as though a body armor, as they progressed.

For now, Hikari tended to baby her, keeping her out of battle due to her less than ideal stats. [break][break] "People like those are ones you want to keep close. They are many who would not have treated you as well, and I'm happy that good people still exist in this world...well, in the previous world before all of this." Hikari waved her hand around, and sighed. She had friends she missed too, though she might not be as open about it. She trusted her two team mates. They seemed capable enough. What she didn't trust was the possibility of other distractions that might veer the deer off its tracks. That was simply not acceptable. [break][break] As she got close to the trap site, Hikari smiled. The deer shot towards the trap with ease, and was quickly caught and bound. Hikari herself jumped down from the trees, giving a small smile to both Sylvia and her summon. Lowering herself to check on the deer, she held her sword aloft and quickly ended its life. A quick end was always preferable. [break][break] "You both did a good job. Thank you." Hikari nodded to both the woman and the cat-girl, before raising her hand. Slowly, Kairi slithered into existence, spreading her wings as though stretching. "I was thinking we might just take this deer back to the village. Perhaps they can butcher it themselves in a cleaner fashion? What do you think?"[break][break] "And then perhaps, on our walk back, you can tell me more about the people you once served. Perhaps I can help you look for them." Hikari was not one to selflessly help people, but she would keep an eye and ear out if asked.
