As expected Idir finished up the monster that landed near them due to Jonas' attack. The claws of their transformation ripped through the fishman just as they did the others. Looks like they won with four to Lowell's three.

Not that Jonas saw it happen. He was much too focused on cheering up the non-combatants of the group. His plan to bring up the spirits of the woman and the girl at her side worked too. At least he thought so. He didn't manage to catch Kitty's smile, but he hoped that he was able to get through to her.

With the battle now over the vibrations of Jonas' song condensed into colorful magic notes that danced around him for a moment. They floated over to each of his teammates and their summons before delving into their chests. The vibrations coursing through their bodies felt and sounded similar to a cat's purr as the ability healed their wounds.

“A break sounds good. I think the little one's been through enough for today.” Not that he was particularly worried about the girl herself, but instead what she could provide. If she was too overwhelmed after having been brought here by him it wouldn't look good.

As much as he hated to admit it Arcana was right. At least partly. There were a lot of strange things in this new world that didn't make sense. Things that his logical mind couldn't comprehend. Things that seemed just the slightest bit off, but not in a way that he could put his finger on. Not that Jonas would ever give her the satisfaction of knowing that.

He scoffed at the woman's attempt at belittling him. “Squishy bard my ass! I bet my defenses are better than yours, Arcana! You may be a battlemage, but I'm a damn tank!” It was a boast he was particularly confident in. He pounded his fist against his chest a couple of times as if to emphasize that fact. When they did their tutorial together it would have stung a bit, but now it didn't hurt a bit! Despite his small frame, he was surprisingly sturdy.

As Jonas guessed it was Enigma that was running the surveys. It made sense with their guild focusing on collecting information. At least from what he remembered from their conversation. The place sounded like the CIA. The Guildmaster dressed like they were part of it too... Maybe they were a FED before.

Unfortunately for Hana, Jonas seemed rather unimpressed with her transformation. He'd become somewhat jaded in a way during the short time he was in the new world. The fantastical abilities that everyone had no longer surprised the frowny-faced man.

While Hana was being spooky as heck and phasing her hand through his hat Jonas couldn't help but wonder... “Hey Hana all these Guilds have been running huge events lately. When's it gonna be our turn to put on one of these shindigs?” It was a rather blunt question. With his Guildmaster being a performer he imagined she would have thrown her hat into the ring already. It seemed unlike her to not go for that opportunity.

Then came the question of what creature they wanted to survey. There was only one thing he had in mind. The creature that he'd been searching for since his trip to Ender Island. Without a second thought, Jonas quickly blurted out, “Merfolk!” How could he choose anything else? With Hana guiding them through The Devil's Triangle he'd be able to meet them this time for sure, right?...

For a moment his frown turned into his normal resting bitch face. “Alright Hana lead the way. Where should we go first?” The system seemed to answer him for her. In it's own weird way of course. A game screen containing a mission suddenly popped up for the group. 'The Lost Spirit's Requiem: Find the spirit and help it pass to the other side.'

It didn't take long for his frown to return to his face as he read his new task. He wasn't a damn exorcist. Looks like his search for merfolk will be delayed once again. Unless they managed to find one along the way. “I have a new item that we can use as a radar to look for things. What do we wanna do first?”

Jonas came to the mystical island called The Devil's Triangle in hopes of finding an actual merfolk. He'd heard that Ender Island had some, but after going there all he ended up finding was a bunch of fishmen. Not only was that a bust, but he had to spend time dealing with some annoying guys so the whole day was a wash. Now he was here looking ridiculous in his giant wizard's hat hoping he could find the creatures he was looking for.

As he sat on a rock near the dock he pulled out an old iPod. He managed to find it in a shop somewhere during his time in Paris. With all the trading going on it was easy to find what he wanted. It was a simple device, but one that Jonas was more accustomed to using than the interface of the system. He ran his thumb along the circle control until the song he wanted scrolled onto the screen that was displayed in front of him.

After hitting play the song came through his Magi-Pods causing the vibrations to run through his body. Releasing them into the air caused a soft piano to be heard in the area. Jonas' plan to attract the creatures residing in The Devil's Triangle was a simple one. Merfolk were known for their magnificent voices so if he sang a song then it should attract them. At least he hoped it would. Who knows what else may come running instead?

A high-pitched nearly operatic woman's voice emanated from his mouth. “Oh no soul. And no name. And no story. What a shame. Cruel existence was only a sham.” He slowly raised an arm in front of him. “Oh Saint Peter let me in. You must know where I've been. Won't you tell me at last who I am?” As he repeated the last three words of the line he could hear the sounds of others approaching.

Jonas hadn't meant to cause the girl any sort of harm, but it seemed his words had some sort of effect on her. Or at least that's what he assumed was happening as she curled into the fetal position. The shield he created followed her of course. He didn't know the idea of potentially losing some of the items that were donated would affect her this much. Maybe he'd apologize later if he remembered when this was over.

Out of nowhere the floor of the warehouse turned into a bounce house likely due to the abilities of one of the Stonks. He doubt that Hana or Hikari would have such an ability much less use it to hamper themselves like this. Thankfully Jonas hadn't so much as took a step forward after he attacked. The others weren't so lucky.

His teammates handled themselves so well that he wondered if he even needed to be here. At least he was useful in protecting Jeanne-Marie, but was that necessary when the other two could take care of the Stonks by themselves? They hadn't even been injured yet so he couldn't heal them. The only thing Jonas could do was conjure another ball of vibrations before launching it at the Fuzzy Stonk that was attacking Hikari.

Much to Jonas' dismay it seemed that the battle didn't do anything to dampen Idir and Lowell's... enthusiasm. It only seemed to enhance it. Typical men. Why'd he have to get paired up with these two of all people? He was loud when he fought, but it had a purpose and sounded nice to listen to, unlike their screaming.

At least Dee Dee seemed to be doing their job quietly. Not that they had much of a choice. Jonas wasn't sure if she couldn't speak or didn't want to, but he was glad nonetheless. She even took care of the creatures that pulled themselves back out of the water and were heading toward Jeanne-Marie and Kitty once again. Maybe they weren't so bad after all.

With the others covered that just left three of the fishmen charging at Jonas. Well two of them ran forward while a third in the back started flinging starfish at him like shuriken. “Aloha ē, aloha ē. 'Ano'ai ke aloha ē.” He stomped his foot on the ground causing another burst of sand to fly into the air in front of him. Instead of falling back down to be absorbed back into the beach the sand swirled together and condensed into two large balls. The bottoms of them continuously dripped sand down that floated back to the top of the ball to rejoin it again like some sort of lava lamp.

The starfish that flew at him impacted the structures and slowly made their way through. They didn't make it much farther though as they poked out the back and harmlessly fell to the ground in front of him. Meanwhile, the other two gradually drew closer as the sound of drums and string instruments played to drown out the two fools symbolically fighting for dominance. The fishmen only made it halfway before a multi-colored construct in the shape of a roller coaster car ran over the pair and left them as a pile on the ground. Two weaklings down.

It didn't stop there and continued to fly until it impacted the starfish-flinging creature. The thing was plastered on the front of the car until it abruptly disappeared when it was a certain range from Jonas. His final fishmen went flying over toward the competing party members. Oh well. Not his problem anymore and it would give the two of them a tiebreaker. He wasn't sure which he'd like to hear less. Them complaining about a tie or complaining that they lost.

Jonas took a moment to scan the rest of the battlefield until he saw Jeanne-Marie and Kitty in their positions. They were being protected by Dee Dee's menagerie, but that didn't make the child any less scared of the situation. Or at least that's what it looked like to him. The others could deal with the last of the enemies. He had something else in mind: securing his meal ticket. The girl had supplied him with some interesting items thus far and he'd like that to continue.

With that in mind, he made his way over to the non-combatants of the group. For his plan, Jonas would have liked one of Dee Dee's creatures to join him, but they were too busy protecting the girls to worry about his antics. He made sure to give a wide berth to the pets as he ran to Jeanne-Marie. Once he arrived he would lean down to meet her eye level before speaking. “Don't worry Jeanne-Marie. Just focus on me and Kitty and everything will be alright.” He stood up before spinning around and performing various silly dance moves that he thought would entertain her or make her laugh.

Once again Jeanne-Marie produced an item from who knows where. It makes sense that she could carry around one of those quarter machines you find in supermarkets. She was a merchant after all. Jonas didn't expect an entire sheathed sword to appear from within. Not to mention the confetti.

Sometimes it was easy to forget that one of the leaders of a merchant guild was indeed an actual child. With the way she could so eloquently string words together, one could hardly tell her age if not for her voice and stature. Seeing her run off with her arms out like an airplane he half expected her to start blowing raspberries to make the accompanying sound effects. It was somewhat unexpected from the girl.

As Jonas followed Jeanne-Marie to the correct door his body began vibrating at an intense rate. Nothing that Hana and Hikari hadn't seen before, but this time with a new effect. Each step he took caused cracks in the ground around his feet as the frequencies running through his body permeated the earth. When he lifted his hand and closed his fist two hexagonal-shaped crystals burst from the cracks behind him. One floated over to Jeanne-Marie while the other stayed near him. “Better watch your step when we're leaving.”

Upon entering the warehouse and laying eyes on the Stonks Jonas was somewhat confused at what he saw. Did they just absorb some of the donations? Crap. They were already off to a bad start. “You don't think defeating these things will break the items, right?” Whatever. It's not like there was anything they could do about it now. They'd just have to stop them before they ate even more items.

It didn't take long for Hana and Hikari to jump into action. Once again people were transforming. What the hell was with everyone transforming? Did so many people really hate what they were so much they wanted to turn into something different? It wasn't all that unusual to want a different life or to be a different person, but the number of people Jonas had met like this lately was concerning. Whatever that's their own problem.

Hana started playing a song from the same artist that she mentioned when they first met. The same artist who made the song that they sang together. Didn't she have some variety in music? She probably expected him to play along and be her backup singer again or something. Well, Jonas wouldn't be content with that this time around. She'd follow his lead this time.

He put his arms out to his sides and the vibrations held within his body unleashed into the air. The upbeat and electronic music produced by Jonas blended with the song played by Hana. When he opened his mouth the Japanese words that poured out created an energy made of shifting colors that filled an invisible orb like water filled a balloon. Not that he knew what any of the words meant before the auto-translate feature did its magic. After it created a full sphere the vibrations shot toward the Stonk with the fuzzy behind.
