"If only this world is destroyed and recreated into something that I can take advantage of. Not a zombie apocalypse kind of shit, but anything like a video game."[break][break] It's as if muttering those words suddenly summon some kind of a holographic blue window in front of her. There, she witnessed everything. From a being who called themselves "Earth" telling them to F things up to giving them a class so they could survive against the monsters. Arcana was aghast at what she witnessed. But then again, she was driving on 4 hours of no sleep. I'll choose..."[break][break] Her eyes were starting to get heavy as she began to fall face-first on the floor. But it was only the sound of the beep that woke her up. "Well, it's not like whoever that Earth-chan was won't let me do a do-over. Might as well get by what I have. Before she knew it, Arin wasn't in her apartment anymore. Heck, she knew she wasn't in London anymore! She was in some kind of a central square in some sort of dark and gloomy city that reminded her of those Victorian Gothic comics she saw. The crowd was hushed and the lights above the seats dimmed. Jonas smiled as he felt the familiar braid of rope in his hands. He pulled along with the other stagehands and opened the curtains for the show to begin. The play felt so short. It seemed like he only blinked and he was closing the curtains. The crowd was cheering and clapping, but it was soon replaced by confused chatter as video game screens appeared before them like pop-up ads.

It was unusual for the theater to do an event like this unannounced and even more unusual that they wouldn't tell the staff. Why would they do it right after another show too? Typically they reserved a special day for something like this. The staff discussed all these questions and more as the director and ushers tried to calm everyone down. Jonas inspected the message during the commotion and decided to play along.

Almost immediately Jonas heard a loud ringing in his head and he fell to the ground. The last thing he saw before he passed out was his panicked coworkers surrounding him. When he awoke the ringing was still there but slowly subsided. He got up off the ground and examined his new surroundings to find he was in some sort of Gothic-inspired city. Was it another set? How much time and money did the theater spend getting this all setup? And why did they kidnap him?!

The numbers on her phone screen almost laughed at Sidney as her suspicions were confirmed. It was 3:14 AM, and she had been cleaning the theaters by herself for two hours now without making a dent in them. Looking around, the futility of this task slowly set in. Opening nights were always horrid, but the unprecedented number of her employees that called in "sick" made tonight in particular hell on earth. "I’ll finish this later today..." Her voice was barely a murmur, as she was already planning the team meeting. Figuring out the best way to let them know that despite how they feel about the MCU, the world is, in fact, not ending and they can wait a day to see the movie instead of skipping work. [break][break] By the time she had committed to memory the employees who she had personally seen in seats at the premiere that night, her autopilot had taken her all the way to her car. Sitting down in the driver’s seat, she was hit with an all-too-familiar feeling. The quickening of her breath, the thumping of her heart as the highway called to her—an always present temptation to fuel her desire, no, her need for adrenaline. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. "No, Sidney. You’ve been doing so well recently. You have a stable life now; you don’t need the thrill anymore." Opening her eyes, she was surprised to see a floating text box staring at her. Not only she was far suddenly dropped in this strange town without warning (the strange game window didn't count as one), but she had nothing but her clothes (which she was relieved about since wearing in her pajamas would be deadly and embarrassing), her trusty tarot cards, and purple smartphone. When she used the latter, she unsurprisingly got no signal from where she was right now. But what was surprising was that all of her apps, including her gacha games were gone. Only Tetris and Pong, causing her to groan in frustration.[break][break]
"Damn it. Did that guy have to delete my games, too? I'm going to miss all of my dailies." Arin sighed while switching her smartphone with her tarot deck and took the cards out of the small cardboard box to shuffle it. "Chaos and fortune... That's what Earth said. I wonder what it's like living in this strange new world?"[break][break]
Before she could draw a card from her tarot deck, she briefly flinched when she heard someone screaming.[break][break]

Arin turned around and saw that she wasn't alone. A young man with a ponytail and a pale-looking woman who seemed to be excited for some reason despite their current circumstances. Seeing this, Arin groaned in frustration again. "Probably living like The Tower right now, then. Don't they have a solo tutorial or something?"[break][break]
But her frustrations didn't seem to end there. The three displaced people suddenly feel a small quake around them. Arin turned and her eyes widened to see the concrete floor cracked. What emerged were several skeletons in leather, modern clothes, and armor as they raised their weapons and screeched upon noticing them.[break][break]
"Well, this is one freakin' day. No sleep, no time to process what the hell is going on." Arin turned to the two people nearby. "Hey! If you two are done gawking, I suggest both of you start running!"[break][break]
This seemed all too real. Arin didn't know if this was real or not. She didn't know if the possibility of death was real if they fail this tutorial. One thing was certain for her.[break][break]
She was grinning ear to ear as she started running. This might be her big break. Jonas said he'd play along, but what did that even mean? The System Message tasked him with escaping the square within twelve hours so the best course of action would be... What? Come on think there has to be some idea in your big empty head. He could go into one of the buildings and try to get a high viewpoint to see where to go. Yes, that would work!

Oh, wait... Couldn't he just call for help? Why is he bothering with trying to come up with a plan to try to escape? Jonas grabbed his phone out of his pocket and checked to see if he had service. If he wasn't taken too far he'd be fine. Unfortunately for him, the indicator at the top of the screen didn't display even a single bar. Looks like he was on his own trying to figure this out.

Or was he? From out of the corner of his eye he saw another light cut through the darkness of the night to signal him that he wasn't alone. To his surprise, the girl with the phone wasn't his only companion as Jonas noticed a pale woman nearby. She looked a bit too much like she was a denizen of this town for his liking. Were they both in the audience and taken too? He didn't recognize either of them, but that wasn't unusual unless they were frequent visitors.

Jonas became curious about the girl when she mentioned something about a tutorial. Maybe she wasn't a PC in the LARP, but an NPC meant to help guide him and the pale woman. If she was indeed a PC as well. Just as he opened his mouth to ask the girl about what she meant by a tutorial he was cut off by a low rumbling. Of all things it was done by the ground beginning to shake and the sudden jolt caused him to curse the Earth and almost made him lose his balance. He wondered how the theater could manage to afford something like this.

Before he could speak Jonas was struck speechless by what happened next. The ground cracked open and a mass of skeletons began pouring out like Hell itself was dumping its leftover bones into the trash bin that was this town. That was an unfair assumption. He'd barely even seen the place. Then again, it was spitting out dead things like a cat showing off its latest kill. The makeup on the actors was amazing. Or were they puppets? Animatronics? Whatever it was he didn't need to worry about any real danger since this wasn't a real situation.

Suddenly he could hear the girl yelling at him and the pale woman to run. Yep, she was an NPC and the pale woman was likely a PC judging by what he just heard. As the girl started to book it Jonas shrugged and followed her. It was as good a plan as any. Luckily he was dressed for the occasion in his tank top covered by a crop top, some basketball shorts, and sneakers. He motioned for the pale woman to follow as he took off running after the girl. "What do you mean by the tutorial," he asked the girl as they ran. It was best to play along after all.

All Arin could do was dodge as many skeletons as she could while scanning around her surroundings. While she wanted to see what kind of abilities she has as a Fortuneteller right now, she doubted that this tutorial won't give her time to rest. She already lost where the other girl was, but she has no time to dwell on that right now. However, the other problem was the young man with her. It seemed like he didn't understand what was happening right and she didn't want any useless people dragging her down.[break][break]
"Don't you get it, mister? We're forced to play this strange death game and if we don't take it seriously, we'll be dead-dead here!" Arin shouted before kicking a skeleton about to ambush her. "If you want to keep denying everything, then be my guest. But I don't take cowards who don't accept their new lives here."[break][break]
Before she knew it, Arin was punching, kicking, and dodging many skeletons standing in her way. At this rate, she wouldn't be able to shake off her undead pursuers. Then she made a decision. She then took out her tarot deck and drew a card from it. "Fortuneteller is related to these kinds of cards, right? I hate to be a believer, but..."[break][break]
She tossed the card she drew and shouted, "The Fool! Get me out of this hellhole or whatever you do!"[break][break]

Watching Arcana move was a surprise. She was much more in shape than she initially seemed. Good for her. Jonas followed her at a brisk pace and dodged a few skeletons coming his way. He took a few moments to look at the Class that he was assigned by the Game Masters. He bobbed and weaved between the 'dead' trying to swipe at him as they got close. Who knew fighting people with duct tape swords in a field would come in handy one day? She was quite rude for an NPC. Though maybe it was only her character. It wouldn't be fair to judge her based on how her character reacts to a hostile situation. Also, some people like that sort of thing. She seemed fairly adept at fighting too seeing how she was able to swat away the skeletons. Jonas didn't want to harm anybody if they were actors and he may have to pay for damages if he broke a puppet, or whatever they were. “Alright alright fine. I'll try a bit harder.” Almost as soon as it came out of his mouth more skeletons began to swarm the two of them. It seemed that Arcana's defense wouldn't last for long, however. She was eventually swarmed by the undead and Jonas couldn't help but wonder if this was the end of the tutorial mentor. He couldn't believe his eyes when she threw a card into the air and began flying after it. Once again he was amazed at the budget of the theater. Jonas didn't even see the harness on her. Judging by her reaction she was just as surprised as he was. He began to wonder if maybe this wasn't a LARP. Nah surely she's just a good actress. Jonas was distracted by the display before him and didn't notice the skeletons catching up to him. One of them swiped out at his leg causing him to tumble to the ground. It was only when he looked back to see what happened that he noticed how many undead had been following him. He threw his arms up in front of his face to protect himself from the skeletons encroaching on him. “I'm so screwed!” Jonas yelled out knowing that this was likely the end for his character. What happened next was something beyond his wildest expectations. The sound coming out of his mouth turned into a wave of multi-colored lights and crashed into the crowd in front of him. They were knocked to the ground by the force and Jonas knew for sure this time that all of this was real. Yet after using one of her tarot cards out of desperation, she was having some second thoughts after she recovered from being pulled from her thrown card. Not only she got out from the mob of skeletons unscathed, but after recovering her The Fool card, it somehow greyed out. "Well, didn't expect this card to save my life." As she kicked another skeleton out of her way, she inspected her deck one more time as she placed The Fool card back at the bottom.[break][break]
"Okay, that's one point for my new power." She then drew another card and smiled when she saw the face of it. "Let's see if this one is even more useful than the first."[break][break]
Arin quickly tossed the card to the mob of skeletons coming toward her. When she did, funnels made of energy suddenly appear and as the card passed through it, the speed suddenly grow faster as it launched towards the skeletons before exploding on impact. Arin was shocked when she saw this as she stood there witnessing the explosion made from her card.[break][break]
"Whoa..." Arin muttered. "Now that's what I call a skill." She noticed her card coming back to her from the smoke and once she caught it, not only it was also greyed out, but it looked unscathed from it. "And it's reusable, too. That beats trying to find this deck again. Losing one of them means amputating my friend's arms."[break][break]
However, she was interrupted by Jonas's scream as she turned to see him let out a wave of multi-colored lights that pushed the mob of skeletons that knocked them out in pieces. She mentally complimented him on his ability, but she frowned that he didn't seem to understand his situation. "Geez... You are really slow as a snail," she muttered. "Those are skeletons and they are out to kill us. For real. We're not in some VRMMO shit or wherever we are, you know."[break][break]
She wished they were in one, but she was still in her small black jacket, purple shirt, black shorts, and boots that she wore back in her apartment and she doubted pinching or stabbing herself would be good indicators that they were in a video game or something. Either way, she felt that there was no way everything was all bytes and data. Jonas was far too engrossed in his own situation to pay attention to what Arcana was doing during this whole debacle. Perhaps if he did he would have admired how his companion was able to destroy a hoard of skeletons. Or maybe his mind would be stuck in the same loop it was now as it tried to make sense of what was going on. His thoughts kept cycling between 'this shouldn't be possible' and 'I just shot a shockwave out of my mouth'. Jonas was finally knocked out of his stupor by Arcana berating him again. It took him a second to process what was being said to him. He hurriedly got himself to his feet before giving a rush response. “VRMMO? I think you watch a bit too much anime.” It was an obvious front to try to make himself feel a bit better about what was going on. It didn't help. He turned towards the mass of skeletons as they were slowly regaining their footing and stomped his foot on the ground. As expected another wave of lights burst forth from his foot in the direction of the skeletons. After this final hit, the hoard stopped moving and Jonas could finally relax a bit. Not that it was likely to last long. He turned his attention back to Arcana now that he confirmed that this was indeed real. That made this whole thing worse. What could have possibly happened for people to gain powers like this? Why are skeletons walking around? Maybe it's the apocalypse. There's no use standing here thinking about it. It's time to find out what was going on. “Fine. This is all real. Now where do we go? "I wish I can rush in and deal with the "heart of the lich". But laying the land should be a good move," Arcana said to Jonas before punching a nearby skeleton (and almost breaking her fist). "Even if we managed to escape before the 12-hour limit is up, I doubt this tutorial might not be kind to us newbies."[break][break]
She looked around her surroundings, but her dodging and punching the skeletons were impeding her attempts. Growling, Arcana grabbed a Three of Coins card and shouted, "Hey, can you stop pestering us for one second?!"[break][break]
As soon as she tossed the card, it suddenly grew larger and turned into some kind of an energy shield that blocked most of the skeletons coming towards her. Seeing this was enough for her to sigh as she turned to Jonas again. "Just so you know, I had no idea what that card does until now."[break][break]
She then continued scanning around the area until she saw the top of the largest building nearby. "Let's try climbing that building. We should be able to see where that heart is and hopefully avoid some skeletons for a while. And no, you don't have much of a choice."[break][break]

Jonas couldn't help but smirk when Arcana huffed. The comment made him feel slightly better after all. Hopefully, she didn't take it too personally as they'd need to work together to survive here. Getting on her bad side wasn't the best idea. Although that ship may have already sailed.

He winced at the sound of Arcana's fist slamming into a skeleton. That must have hurt. “Yeah this tutorial so far has been a real killer. If we can find somewhere with a door maybe we can breathe for a bit.” While Arcana was dodging and punching skeletons Jonas was fighting off his own share of mobs. He wasn't a fighter by any means and was struggling to hold his ground until his partner threw up a wall to ward off the horde. He was relieved until she mentioned that it happened by chance.

Now wasn't the time to be annoyed at little things as there were much larger problems to worry about. Jonas looked around the area and noticed the building after Arcana pointed it out. It looked like as good a spot as any. “I'm not sure trying to fight against whatever is creating this horde of skeletons is the best idea. Maybe we should just run for it after we get a lay of the land.” He began to run towards the potential haven. Even if only a temporary one.

She didn't know why, but she was starting to like her job class. As the explosion started to clear up, the young girl started running and shouted to Jonas, "Come on! Those skeletons will come back with more friends if we don't pick up the pace!"[break][break]
She opened the door and rushed inside the building. The inside was dark with no lights due to the lack of power and many broken furniture and appliances were scattered from the opened rooms. As much as Arin wanted to check them out, she continued running as she headed up the stairs with her hopes that the guy might follow.[break][break]

Jonas was glad to see her agree with him, albeit reluctantly. There was no way they were ready to take on the boss yet. After another attack from the girl, she began running towards the building. Thankfully she wasn't stubborn enough to try to take on the horde as well. He was a bit annoyed that she was telling him to get a move on when she was the one that wanted to stick around and fight. He let out a sigh before following Arcana into the building and slamming the door shut behind them.

Before he even had time to catch his breath Arcana was already on the move again. Maybe she was mad at him. She was sure in a hurry to get to the top of the building. While trailing behind her Jonas could hear a groaning coming from one of the rooms that she brazenly bypassed. It sent a chill down his spine and he wondered if he should just ignore it. But what if it was the pale girl? He couldn't just leave her.

“Hey Arcana wait up! I heard something! I'm going to go check if it's the pale girl!” Jonas cupped his hands over his hand and yelled at the girl to make sure she could hear him. He nodded, satisfied with himself, and opened the door to the room the groan came from. He stood behind the door as he did so and didn't dare to peek in immediately for fear of what may happen. It was something he'd seen on a cop TV show. After a few seconds of the door being open he poked his head out from behind the door to see what was inside.

Her pale skin clashes against the wave of black hair flowing down her shoulders. Every movement brings with it the sound of clacking bone as she seeks to regain the youth that was taken from her. Her voice is dry and she's prone to coughing fits every now and again. A bright lavender color is visible from her chest when her magic is used. [break][break] [Basic] Attacks - 1 rank [PWR][break][break] Siphon Life - Through her twisted magic, the Lich drains the life from her target, stealing their [VIT] based on her [MAGI] stat. Her weakened state makes this once feared spell a fraction of it's former glory and take 2 posts to begin affecting its target. [break][break] Summon Brittle Skeleton - Summons a small group of three skeleton minions. These are laughably weak when alone, but grow in strength as more are created. Each skeleton is Level 01 with a 3 in every stat.[break][break] - x - x - x - x - x - [break][break] As Jonas opened the door into the room, he'd be treated to quite the sight indeed. A pale faced woman in a tattered cloak and loose robes. One arm of hers was extended onto the body of another person, the gender unable to be identified from his perspective. This pale woman had a hand on the body, but unlike the rest of her, this extension of her hand was all bone! [break][break] A soft and eerie green light came from this bone hand as the corpse slowly withered away until nothing but bone remained. Conversely, the woman's form was gaining a more healthy complexion but still pale. Her bone hand had fully reformed as muscle and viscera snaked around bone to reform fully once again. [break][break] "Ugh, I need more..." She murmured to herself, clutching her chest as another weak groan came over her. Jonas hadn't been seen yet, even as he stuck his head inside of the room. But it wasn't soon after the fact that her head would twist around to face him, a sickening sound of bones cracking with the woman's eye glued onto him. "You...You'll do."[break][break] The ground shook as three skeleton began to crawl out of the ground, floorboards burst out as they'd slowly make their way towards Jonas.
