His new acquaintance just kept getting stranger. In addition to the constant rain, she looked like she belonged in an old noir film. Jonas half expected to hear a deep-voiced narrator start describing how she was picking up trash on the streets much like she wish she could with criminals, or something like that. He wondered what sort of Class she had to be able to do something like that.

Thankfully an opportunity came up for him to ask. Jonas smiled at her odd expression. At least he got something out of her. “I guess you could call me a bard. I'm officially a Vibration Wizard, but people don't understand when I say that. What about you, Noelle?” It seemed that she was trying to force out some energy for him. He hadn't meant it like that, but it would be awkward to mention that now. Wouldn't it?

While the pair worked their way through the blanket of trash on the ground Jonas started to use the ability that scored him points throughout the day. Not only did it soothe those around him, but it allowed him to keep singing by healing his own throat. It was truly a blessing and he hoped it worked as well on her as it did on him.

“All of life's colors turn to grey, then you turn around, and you smile my way. Suddenly all my problems disappear on cue. All because of you. Storm clouds are circling around, but I won't let that shit drag me down. So I'll be singing, I'll be singing, I'll be singing, I'll be singing, I'll be singing in the rain.” Maybe it wasn't quite what the girl was used to song-wise, but he felt it was appropriate at the moment. The words spilled out of his mouth as bright rainbow music notes floated around himself and the girl. Of course, once they got close to her they turned to multiple shades of grey, but that didn't matter. The low vibrations emitted from the notes soothed their bodies. Jonas hoped that this would lift her spirits somewhat.

Even after all his busking Jonas still didn't have quite enough money to level up. It was an unfortunate circumstance, but one he had to live with. Most people were too interested in using their money to buy the fantastic goods for sale to throw him a few points for his performance.

So here he was picking up trash on the street like someone doing community service. A bag in one hand and a long poker in the other. He even had plastic gloves to cover them both in case, god forbid, he ever had to touch something. Not that he would. As Jonas plucked leftover items from the ground he was extra careful to make sure he didn't physically touch whatever it was.

He was told to meet with someone, but whether it be due to his reluctance for the job or the slow pace at which he placed items into his bag he hadn't seen them yet. At least until Jonas noticed a woman with a bag like his. Instead of a pokey stick though she had an umbrella. It must have been sharp to poke through the trash.

For some reason, she seemed to be even more miserable than he was. As he approached Jonas waved at the girl and called out to her. Of course, he forgot to take the stick out of his hand while doing so causing it to flail about. “Hello! I think we're supposed to be working together!”

From his vantage point on the bench, Jonas could see many interesting characters in the crowd. A woman in a gaudy jacket that he wanted to steal for himself. A man wearing a mask. Or at least that's what he assumed they were based on their clothing. Last, but certainly not least, a well-dressed woman with three large swords floating behind her. There were all kinds of people in this new world, but this group seemed particularly odd and well intimidating.

Jonas couldn't help but overhear the conversation between the three before they shouted their song suggestions. There wasn't much to be said however the word Guild piqued his interest. He knew what it meant in game terms, but who knows how it would work here? He'd have to take the chance to talk to them after he was done.

The woman in the jacket suggested a beautiful song that Jonas knew well. She was the one who mentioned Guilds so it would be best to impress her if possible. If not for the person in the mask tipping them a few points he would have likely chosen the first suggestion he got. He accepted the trade happily and bowed to them. “I appreciate the patronage, my friend.” Although his choice was cemented for a brief moment he thought about playing some Mozart just to appease the woman with the swords. Surely she wouldn't do anything with such a large crowd nearby, right?

It started as a low rumble in his chest. Within a few seconds, the vibrations spread throughout his body causing it to shake rapidly. A few bystanders voiced their concerns, but they were quickly quelled by Jonas. “Please, please! There is no cause for alarm! This is all part of the show!” With that being said he spread his arms out to his sides causing the vibrations once held within his body to be unleashed into the air and ground nearby. Those in the audience that had been to a concert before may recognize the feeling of being near a large speaker. The way you can feel every note shake the ground and resonate in your bones.

The sound of a guitar playing spread throughout the area and before long it was accompanied by a jazz band. It was playing a familiar tune to many present, but especially to the person in the mask. As Jonas opened his mouth to sing the voice that came out of the young man's mouth was quite unexpected for most of the audience. The woman's voice that erupted out was one that obviously didn't belong to him, but whether it was a benefit of his class or a natural talent of his the people around seemed to enjoy it regardless. Well, all except a few small-minded people who grumbled needlessly.

With each word Jonas sang multi-colored lines of music scores floated out and filled the sky above the crowd. Slowly the worries of the day started to fade away, the aches from walking through Paris, and the grumbling of naysayers faded away into his words. “Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars. Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars. In other words, hold my hand. In other words, baby, kiss me.” While he sang Jonas reached a hand out to the person who requested the song.

Jonas couldn't help but smirk when Arcana huffed. The comment made him feel slightly better after all. Hopefully, she didn't take it too personally as they'd need to work together to survive here. Getting on her bad side wasn't the best idea. Although that ship may have already sailed.

He winced at the sound of Arcana's fist slamming into a skeleton. That must have hurt. “Yeah this tutorial so far has been a real killer. If we can find somewhere with a door maybe we can breathe for a bit.” While Arcana was dodging and punching skeletons Jonas was fighting off his own share of mobs. He wasn't a fighter by any means and was struggling to hold his ground until his partner threw up a wall to ward off the horde. He was relieved until she mentioned that it happened by chance.

Now wasn't the time to be annoyed at little things as there were much larger problems to worry about. Jonas looked around the area and noticed the building after Arcana pointed it out. It looked like as good a spot as any. “I'm not sure trying to fight against whatever is creating this horde of skeletons is the best idea. Maybe we should just run for it after we get a lay of the land.” He began to run towards the potential haven. Even if only a temporary one.

Jonas said he'd play along, but what did that even mean? The System Message tasked him with escaping the square within twelve hours so the best course of action would be... What? Come on think there has to be some idea in your big empty head. He could go into one of the buildings and try to get a high viewpoint to see where to go. Yes, that would work!

Oh, wait... Couldn't he just call for help? Why is he bothering with trying to come up with a plan to try to escape? Jonas grabbed his phone out of his pocket and checked to see if he had service. If he wasn't taken too far he'd be fine. Unfortunately for him, the indicator at the top of the screen didn't display even a single bar. Looks like he was on his own trying to figure this out.

Or was he? From out of the corner of his eye he saw another light cut through the darkness of the night to signal him that he wasn't alone. To his surprise, the girl with the phone wasn't his only companion as Jonas noticed a pale woman nearby. She looked a bit too much like she was a denizen of this town for his liking. Were they both in the audience and taken too? He didn't recognize either of them, but that wasn't unusual unless they were frequent visitors.

Jonas became curious about the girl when she mentioned something about a tutorial. Maybe she wasn't a PC in the LARP, but an NPC meant to help guide him and the pale woman. If she was indeed a PC as well. Just as he opened his mouth to ask the girl about what she meant by a tutorial he was cut off by a low rumbling. Of all things it was done by the ground beginning to shake and the sudden jolt caused him to curse the Earth and almost made him lose his balance. He wondered how the theater could manage to afford something like this.

Before he could speak Jonas was struck speechless by what happened next. The ground cracked open and a mass of skeletons began pouring out like Hell itself was dumping its leftover bones into the trash bin that was this town. That was an unfair assumption. He'd barely even seen the place. Then again, it was spitting out dead things like a cat showing off its latest kill. The makeup on the actors was amazing. Or were they puppets? Animatronics? Whatever it was he didn't need to worry about any real danger since this wasn't a real situation.

Suddenly he could hear the girl yelling at him and the pale woman to run. Yep, she was an NPC and the pale woman was likely a PC judging by what he just heard. As the girl started to book it Jonas shrugged and followed her. It was as good a plan as any. Luckily he was dressed for the occasion in his tank top covered by a crop top, some basketball shorts, and sneakers. He motioned for the pale woman to follow as he took off running after the girl. "What do you mean by the tutorial," he asked the girl as they ran. It was best to play along after all.
