Jonas squinted his eyes and glared at Arcana after she answered his question. “What? Witches are just humans with magic. They aren't a creature. Besides you basically are one already!” Maybe she sustained a brain injury from her fall during the tutorial. Who answers a witch when asked what mythical creature they want to be?

While Arcana's answer was dumb Hanas was... concerning... She demonstrated earlier that she could turn into some sort of specter, but it was odd to hear someone say they wanted to be a ghost. Jonas hoped his Guildmaster didn't have any plans of dying any time soon. “Yeah flying is pretty cool huh? I can ride my shield, but it's not really the same thing.”

For once Arcana had a good point. They had an actual job to do here. With all the observations out of the way, they could get down to business. Thankfully Hana was paying attention and had a good idea of what to do. “Sounds easy enough.” A hum ran through his body permeating the ground around Jonas until four hexagonal crystalline-shaped objects rose from the earth. After lying them horizontally in the air he then picked up a few of the items scattered around the area before using the shields to hold them. It was much easier than carrying each of them after all. “So to the portal we go?”

The new world was so strange. It seemed like each area had its own physics, weather, or time of day. Now things could just change on a whim? Jonas wasn't really the type to play video games outside of rhythm and dancing games or the ones that came with the fake guitars. Was this what they were like?

After he caused the 3D map he was using to disappear a popup appeared in front of his eyes to let him know the mission was officially completed. Finally, the mission was over with and they could return to the base. Or not. It seemed that Hana had another idea. Jonas had to suppress a groan when she suggested they go visit the nearby farm. “Yeah sure. I'm in if there's food.” At least there's that.

He couldn't help but frown when she mentioned he probably could have handled the mission by himself. With how many enemies there were and his limited offensive capabilities Jonas doubted that was the case. The shields floating around the area fell to the ground and crumbled before he spoke again. “Yeah I'll be getting my subclass soon too. I hope it's something good. Alright, let's finish this up so we can get our rewards.”

Jonas was surprised when Hana joined his song. He knew she was a good guitar player, but didn't expect her to be able to jump in during the middle of a song. Whether she knew the song already or was able to pick up on the music it was impressive nonetheless. Playing an instrument in the middle of battle wasn't exactly easy.

As expected Hana easily destroyed the clump of skeletons. With an ability very similar to his own that he hadn't seen before. At least not to this extent. Mostly Jonas had seen her punching enemies or bashing them with her guitar. It shouldn't have been a surprise, but he couldn't help the wave of inferiority that washed over him. That quickly faded as Hana busted out a pose that looked like something ripped straight from an anime. Or musical theater. Maybe it wasn't as bad as his first impression made him believe.

Thankfully it looked like things had finished up in record time. The tombstones were swallowed up by the ground and light began to shine over the once cursed area. “Strange. Is it dawn already or did the event just make it dark?” As he fell from the air and landed on the ground the song quietly faded away. Jonas then activated his sonar one more time to confirm that the mission was actually over.

While Jonas was happy that his Guildmaster complemented his ability he couldn't help but wonder why she didn't do so before. It's not like this was her first time seeing him use it. They'd been together during the incident with the stonks after all. Whatever. At least Hana had good taste in something.

When the guitar she was using as a weapon struck the skeleton it sent an almost physical pain through his body. The sound created was something out of a nightmare. Jonas could never understand how rockers could smash an instrument on the ground during their shows. Poor things.

As Hana finished off another enemy the radar disappeared for a brief moment before he reactivated the item. When it blipped back into existence he could see that red dots multiplied from the skeletons crawling out of the woodwork. Damn things never seemed to stop spawning just like before. Thankfully the ones they slew didn't seem to be getting back up at least.

Jonas wasn't sure if the enemies were actually weak or if Hana was just mowing through them due to her overwhelming level advantage. Either way as a small group approached him he figured it was a good opportunity to test out his newest ability. What better opportunity than with someone overpowered here to protect him if things went wrong?

“You're running and trying, you're trying to hide, and you're wondering why you can't get free.” The words quickly spilled out of his mouth and coated his body in a thin film of iridescent colors before Jonas shot forward like a bullet at the horde. Speed of Sound didn't make him too much faster at the moment, but it was still enough to deal with the slow undead. As he bobbed and weaved through the group the vibrations surrounding him damaged the first skeletons he encountered.

Once he made it through he turned back to see how the group of enemies had fared against his attack. As expected it didn't so much as make a dent on the majority of them. Jonas jumped backward when they began making their way towards him once more. With a kick against the air, he propelled himself out of reach of their attacks.

“He's like a curse. He's like a drug.” Unlike the balls of vibrations that were sent out before a continuous stream of multicolored rings was launched at the group causing two of them to shatter like glass. Now that was more like it.

Jonas somewhat regretted his choice in asking Hana if she knew anything other than Japanese music when she began singing country. Somehow she managed to pinpoint one of his least favorite genres of music. It wasn't even a good song like one of the upbeat ones or country rock. When the vehicle stopped and she announced they arrived he let out an, “Oh thank god,” under his breath.

The site of their newest mission looked like something straight out of a haunt. If he didn't know any better Jonas would have thought their targets were just scare actors. “Does it have to? This place is cool. Could probably turn it into some sort of tourist attraction.” While his Guildmaster was all sunshine and rainbows he wore a mostly neutral expression as usual. As neutral as one could get with RBF anyway.

As much as he wished the area could keep its spooky new theme the idea of free points was too enticing. Once again Hana would probably do most of the work so it really would be free points for Jonas. Not that he'd give up the chance to show off. To that end, he came equipped with his best items... even though they made him look ridiculous. A wizard's hat, a suit that was too tight, and a belt that read 'BAMF' on the buckle.

“Alright let's do this quickly. I've already dealt with more than my fair share of skeletons,” he said as he moved towards the tombstones. Jonas expected the skeletons to pop out of the graves any second. He hit a button on the old iPod he used to control his menu to activate his Magi-Pods. A pulse of vibrations ran down his body and through the ground. Soon after a screen similar to a sonar on a boat appeared in front of him. A pulse of vibrations was sent out continuously to alert the pair of any incoming enemies with a red dot on the map.
