”WOOO!” Rory raised his fists to the air as the final of the beasts went down, thanks to a combination of EVERYONE’S attacks and abilities all working together. Tali seemed to have even more weapons than Rory ever realized, making this whole thing really just one big piece of cake. Now all they had to do was- ”Oh damn, the water.” The man shook his head as he remembered- they were in the middle of a sea! Looking out ahead of them, they were almost at shore at least. His shoulders slumped as the desert vanished from around him…. Why couldn’t it have lasted just a little longer?! ”At least we’ve almost made it! I can’t wait to get off of this thing… and look, there’s the dock!” As their ship finally came to a stop, Rory was the first to bolt off of it, run up the dock, and hug the solid ground beneath them. ”Hallelujah! Ender Island at last! Oh sweet sweet ground, how I’ve missed your solid support…”As the others joined him, Rory brushed himself off and held a hand out to Noelle. ”Looks like you put that thing to good use! I’m sure it’ll be in good hands one day.” He beckoned with his palm for the umbrella back and grinned. ”One day.””Well guys, looks like we have even more to go through now… and if I’m not mistaken, I see a market up ahead! Hehehe…” Rory nodded to Tali and Vanilla, happy to have seen the man in good health and to have met a new person. Ender Island seemed like it would be the start of some new beginnings, and he couldn’t wait to check it out! — dantalion Noelle vanillaPARTYWIDE -1 LUCK DEBUFF

Everything concidered, Rory had already been thinking about starting up a guild to gain access to all these perks, but he had been left a little unsure… That was, up until reading about the Guild Shop. Knowledge of that upgrade was exactly what he needed to push him over the edge towards actually investing the money into one.
This meant there was suddenly so much for him to think about. Where would he even make one?! Maybe LA could host a hall… but with it being a [Safe Zone], maybe that wasn’t the greatest idea after all; it would turn many of the upgrades into a waste. [High Risk] zones could be an option too… but that had the opposite problem- he wouldn’t even be able to set up before getting attacked in one, that much was almost guaranteed!
With those out of the question, his choices were narrowed down quite a bit. Maybe Ender Island could be an option? It was dangerous, but it’d mean he’d be close to all the action going on but not close enough to be under constant threat. There were a lottt of people there, however, so maybe somewhere like [Draco Islands] was worth considering instead. Similar biome, but more tropical, and MUCH less populated.
But what was he thinking, Rory was getting way ahead of himself here! Flipping back to the chapter about basic guild stages, Rory read through the section about actually starting a guild. Unless he had a place already under control, it didn’t look like they started with buildings. That was going to be kind of annoying, but workable. The REALLY annoying part, however, was the cost to buy a guild.
One thousand points?! That was insane! If that was the cost, he might just have to suck it up and save for quite a while… But wait a minute, that wasn’t the only way? Apparently, there was some kind of super rare drop for a Mysterious Medallion Half item. Rory hadn’t come across any himself, but it seemed as though some players had discovered that by combining the halves, a guild could be formed with two people! There were even shops where you could buy half of a medallion outright, literally halving the price.
That seemed like a much better option, which led Rory to his next point… Did he even know anyone that would start a guild with him?! He couldn’t just go out and trust some random stranger, what if they tried to screw him over?! Even of the people he knew, there weren’t many people he trusted THAT well… A lightbulb suddenly went off as the perfect person popped into his mind.
”Nyke!”
Rory hopped up, ignoring the shushing this time as he rushed out of the library. Nyke was just the kind of person he could trust with something like this. Dependable, adventurous, trustworthy- they even made a good team in combat! Running all the way back to the waypoint, Rory now had a new goal in mind, a friend to locate with the most important sales pitch of them all.
They needed to start a guild together!

The first chapter of the book went over the various stages that a Guild could have. These seemed to mostly just determine how big a Guild was, so Rory wasn’t too concerned with it, though there were a couple of interesting pieces of information he learned. The first, was that just by completing appropriately difficult Missions, people could reduce the price it cost to upgrade to the next stage. Simple enough, but the next part was even more interesting.
”Ohoho, free mystery chests? Sign me up!” As the missions were completed and filled out the progress bar for a guild, they could also unlock a special mystery chest. This seemed to be a bit harder than just qualifying for the discounts, but in Rory’s eyes it absolutely sounded like a worthy endeavor. After all, it was free loot that came with a discount! Money, money, and more money were the only words Rory could think of as he read it.
Where the first chapter described the basic guild rank upgrades, chapter two went in depth on various upgrades that were available for a guild to unlock. There was a lot of quality of life stuff here, and surprisingly… almost all of it sounded kind of useful. There were combat themed ones, like cannons or barriers to protect a guild- Rory didn’t know how often guilds got assaulted, but that definitely sounded like something useful in case of a battle! Besides just combat, there were also upgrades that were useful to more everyday use. One of them granted a special Synergy effect to guild members, and a bunch of them came with free things when you unlocked them! ”It’s too good, its too good, I’m gonna cry.”
Rory dotted a napkin along his eyes before continuing to read. About the upgrades available. There were combat upgrades, personal upgrades, and then… ”It keeps getting better! Mission boards… extra branches… and a STORE?! FINALLY THE MEAT OF WHAT I-” From all the noise he was making, Rory got shushed by pretty much everyone else in the library all at once. ”S-sorry…”
The guild store sounded like the most useful upgrade of them all. Rory was quiet now, but the grin on his face said more than enough. This upgrade… was a way to generate passive income!

The two previous information hubs had covered information Rory already knew, just from a more detailed perspective. This room, however, was completely new to him. It covered information about Guilds, something he had heard of but never encountered or really needed to know more about before now.
Where Parties were temporary groups of a small amount of players, Guilds were permanent groups that could be much much larger in number. Due to their permanent nature, Guilds had much more and varied bonuses than what a party could provide. Unique synergies and buffs, missions, shops, almost anything imaginable could be done with a Guild… with enough investment, they were almost like their own miniature town!
The part that stuck out the most to Rory, of course, was that Guilds could also generate their own income. He felt a wicked smile cross his face as an idea began to form in his mind, a money scheme to beat all money schemes (and suddenly, he also realized where the MELODY part of his class had come from.) Eager to learn more about this entire Guild system, Rory left this main-introductory hall and went up to a higher level of the building.
Books and computers that filled the area made this look like a much more traditional library. Where the area below went into some details about a subject, this Record Hall had everything. It took him a moment to find the area dedicated to Guilds, but once he did, Rory felt like he had discovered a gold mine.
The Guild Records looked like they had been very meticulously organized, chopped up into even further subsections of information. Crouching down to be sure he read EVERY SINGLE book title to find one he wanted, Rory had a little bit of difficulty at first. Due to the nature of this place having information on everything, much of the info here was about specific player-made guilds and the public information on them. That was nice and all, sure, but not what he needed right now. Running his finger along the spines of the wall, finally he found what he was looking for.
[The Guild Shop: An All-Encompassing Guide to The Guild Shop for a Total Beginner]
Huh. Very specific. As he pulled the book from its shelf. Dust flew up into the air. Yuck… it didn’t seem like anyone had touched this thing since- well, ever! As brushed it off and finally opened the book, Rory groaned when he saw the table of contents. When the title said All-Encompassing, it really meant it. With a heavy sigh, he propped his back against the wall and began reading.

It turned out the layout and flow of information here ran pretty well together. The next section he found himself in was explaining the [Party] system, ways that people could officially group together during combat, missions, or for whatever other reason they’d like. While people could just do things without being in a party, there were added benefits to it. Being able to track things about your partymates was a big part of that, but the most interesting thing was [Party Synergy].
Rory had experienced a couple synergies for himself already, but it was nice to see just how they worked and all the different kinds they are. Most of these were things he would rarely find applied to him, if ever, but it could definitely be useful for picking out what sort of people he partied up with. [Healthy Amount] seemed like it was the easiest to qualify for, only requiring a group of 4 people, and granting a 15% stat boost to everything.
New to Rory, however, was that there was a better version of that synergy. [Full House] applied when just two more people joined together to form a party of six. From what he was reading, it seemed like six was the maximum party size, and it granted a whopping 30% buff to all stats for free. As someone that dealt in buffs and debuffs himself, he knew that the effect on its own wasn’t that powerful- but once more and more effects started to add up, that 30% was really going to make a difference!
Some of the synergies he could NEVER take advantage of, such as the [Zootopia] one that only applied to summon/pet based classes. Thinking about how DeeDee fought, it might be nice to have a pet for himself one day, but that still wouldn’t qualify him for the buff. There was a [Black and White] synergy that required a light-based and a dark-based class to be in a party together, and while some of Rory’s skills did have somewhat of a dark aura around them, he’d by no means call that a demonic class. Chaotic, sure, but that was a completely different thing!
Just because they wouldn’t all work didn’t mean that there weren’t some other useful synergies to keep in mind. There was one called [Holy Trinity] that would activate when a GIFT, SHELTER, and MELODY class were all in a party together, meaning he just needed to link up with a GIFT and SHELTER to gain that buff! Another synergy seemed fairly simple, though he wasn’t quite sure where he would fit into it yet. The [Balanced] synergy required an physical DPS, ranged DPS, Tank, and magic user to all be in a party together… Rory definitely had all magical abilities, but most of them were pretty tanky too. Did that mean he qualified for both? Maybe he could even pick and choose when it came up… Yet another thing to look into in the future.
Glancing through the rest of the synergies, there weren’t many more that stuck out to Rory. When he was finished with those, he turned back to once again head for the next section of knowledge.

Rory’s own anchor was finally explained once he reached the MELODY section. MELODY enemies were associated with a darker blue color, and the enemies tended to be casters or mages. The actual classes with MELODY anchors seemed to be similar, either mages or some kind of support role. Comparing it to Rory’s own Chaos Roller class, that definitely checked out.
An interesting thing about the MELODY anchor was that, where GIFTS and SHELTERS had items and places, MELODY was more about incorporeal things like memories or emotions. Rory wasn’t really sure how that applied to the Chaos Roller class; he had been something of a gambler, sure, but in his mind it made more sense for that to be some kind of SHELTER. He could see something more coin-based being a GIFT class… maybe that’s what the elusive [Gold Dollar] class was all about. He wiped a tear from his eye as he moved onto the next section. Maybe one day that class would show up once again…
CONNECTION anchors were the next in the hall. Conceptually, they seemed pretty simple: CONNECTION was based on the connections a person had with another. The information on the subject went on to describe how some connections weren’t with someone a person literally knew, but could be with other things such as their favorite animal, a history figure, or even a fictional character. Evey kind of gave that vibe with her class, but that was neither here nor there.
The way that CONNECTIONS appeared in their abilities seemed to be primary based on summoning or formshifting/empowerment. Yup, that also checked out. DeeDee was the one who immediately came to mind for Rory, an almost text-book example of a CONNECTION based class. In monsters, they tended to have yellow color schemes and be summoners theirselves, such as a hornet that could summon more of its swarm. Pack monsters like wolves that roved together could also be a CONNECTION anchor, interestingly enough, though Rory hadn’t yet ran into anything like that.
Polar opposite to that was the DISSECTION anchor. Where CONNECTION seemed to be about friendship and caring, DISSECTION was about loss and pain. Nyke was a dissection, and he had his fair share of debuffs to inflict. Reading this was a little unsettling though… it really made him hope everything was okay behind the scenes. Debuffers and assassins were the most common monsters of this anchor, and usually had some shade of purple as their color. Just like they were opposite in themes, DISSECTION and CONNECTION were opposed elementally- each were extra effective against their opposite.
Finally finishing his circle around the room, Rory faced the FRAGMENT section. This was by far the smallest section and the one with the least information, and for good reason. Rory couldn’t think of a time when he’d even HEARD of a FRAGMENT anchor, they were so rare! Even the information listed was only about monsters, with almost no actual Classes to compare it to. For monsters, the FRAGMENTS were usually presented as cyan in color, or occasionally even rainbow. They were in a category all of their own, with no anchor that was effective or weak against it.
Rory kept thinking about the FRAGMENTS as he left the Anchor hall. He honestly wouldn’t even think they were real if it wasn’t for the monsters others had fought with that Anchor. With the subject still fresh on his mind, he turned the corner to inter the next section of this Tutorial Hall.

As he walked through the vast hall of this ANCHORS area, Rory could already tell there was a lot going on here. He was kinda thankful for the way it was laid out, however. Instead of just having books or pages to read, it was almost like going through a museum, with various displays, murals, and holograms to explain what was going on here.
Again picking a side and moving down, Rory decided to start from the left. This section had a red vibe to it, and seemed to be focused on GIFT anchors specifically. It had a basic overview section talking about how every class had an anchor of a specific type that worked in an almost elemental system of effectiveness against each other. For the case of GIFT specifically, those classes were strong against SHELTER and weak to MELODY. Rory rubbed his own hand to his chin as he absorbed the information. With his own class being MELODY, gifts were something that didn’t really give him much trouble, and this was the reason why.
Beyond just the effectiveness against other anchors, it also went into some of the traits of GIFTS. In monsters, a GIFT usually had some shade of red as its primary coloring. For classes, however, the key giveaway for a GIFT was that they all had some kind of physical object that their powers seemed to manifest from. Thinking about some of the other gift users he had met before, the information checked out. Tali had his weapons... Noelle had her umbrella… Evey was a GIFT, but he wasn’t sure what her item was. Maybe that suit?
Beyond their item, GIFTS tended to play similar roles, both in Classes and in Monsters. Of course, since they were themed around an object, that meant that most GIFTS were usually warriors of some kind. Definitely checked out in Tali’s case… Beyond just the physical fighters, people who channeled energy through their item was also relatively common. Rory hadn’t really met anyone like that yet, but it definitely made sense that it would work that way.
Moving on, next in the room was an explanation about SHELTER anchors. These usually were monsters with hues of green, and where GIFTS were based on items, SHELTERS were based on places. This was a bit more difficult for Rory to place in his mind. While he had fought SHELTER monsters before, he couldn’t really think of any people he knew with a SHELTER class.
He really needed to expand his circles soon, because SHELTERS were a pain in the ass to deal with thanks to its matchup. GIFTS were strong against them, sure, but MELODY was weaker against the SHELTER anchors- and that meant Rory himself. It explained that they usually had features focused on tanking and hunkering down in an area, so maybe investing in some items that could break [DEF] would help him deal with them…

Changing his route, it wasn’t long before Rory came across his destination. This so-called “Player Central”seemed to be much more geared towards those adventurers who traveled throughout the world. At a glance, he could see it was separated into three main sections. There was an area that looked kind of like a big outdoor gymnasium, with field after field of various combat dummies, test courses, and practice simulations to fight against.
As Rory walked past it, he realized this was another place he would need to visit in the future. Though his class didn’t have much direct offense yet, that didn’t mean he shouldn’t be working on his skills. Actually, it kinda meant the opposite… he didn’t have as many options as other people when it came to dealing damage, so he needed to put in even more effort to help out a team and keep himself alive. With the targets that were set up here, this was definitely a good spot to practice throws with his [Draw Four] ability, but overall this was an area he’d return to once he had an actual weapon to train with.
Where that area was focused on the Combat and Survival Classes, the next one seemed to be more about various types of Crafters and Merchants. Obviously there were some sus looking people in the area trying to make a quick buck for their Class, but most of the area seemed to be full of various crafting stations and workshops. Rory already knew that most people didn’t have access to things like that, and the population here was almost a tenth of how many people filled the combat section–but that just made their work even more valuable. There was more to fighting than just natural abilities, after all. Getting some more items and gear under his belt was another thing Rory added to his to-do list.
The final area of this Player Central was what Rory had been looking for the whole time. It was set up like a big library, an area just full of information and little “Tutorials” to help people get their bearings in this world. He was glad to see that most of the higher level people here seemed friendly; there were plenty of people around trying to give pointers and advice to the newbies and lower-leveled players, especially when people shared similar classes.
Rory wasn’t too worried about chatting it up with someone today, so instead of stopping to chat with anyone he simply made his way inside the building. Even on the inside, the long halls of books, computers, and teachers seemed to go on infinitely, with a different section for what seemed to be every category someone could think of. Hmmm… He didn’t want to overload the information he was learning here, so it would probably be smart to try and tackle things in some kind of order. Rory started in the left-most side of the building, stepping into a hall with a large “ANCHORS” sign hung over it.

The waypoint shimmered as Rory stepped out of it, into a zone he hadn’t really paid much mind to before. The Hub instantly had a different vibe to it from other parts of the world, so much so that it didn’t even seem like it WAS a part of the planet. A virtual city, so-to-speak, full of the essentials of this world. Though Rory hadn’t played too many games, it really reminded him of the hub areas in big RPGs and MMOs… probably where Earth-chan got the idea for it.
Rory was starting to face challenges that were harder and harder in the world, so instead of just throwing points into level ups, he wanted to learn all he could to gain an upper hand. Where better to learn such a thing than here? Ever since that so-called Tutorial with Nyke and Tali, this was a whole new world, literally. It wasn’t like he could just use all the prior knowledge he had from his life to make his way through it, some things just worked completely differently now. Things would never be the same again.
He hadn’t brought much with him here considering it was a [Safezone], not even his protective coat. It was nice, sure, but the smell of booze was just sooo bad sometimes. As he walked through the streets, Rory saw all kinds of buildings. Restaurants with food from cultures all over the world. Hotel after hotel with various commodities and quality of life features. With most of the Earth being hyper dangerous now, he couldn’t help but how many refugees now called those hotels home.
There was an entertainment district as well, something that he hadn’t really expected to see here. Really, it was super-encompassing, having places from libraries to theaters to bars to arcades. Man, Earth-chan really wasn’t playing around with all they put into this. But should that surprise him? It seemed like it had total control over… well, everything! Was this safezone having so many quality of life enhancements really such a hard thing to believe?
For as neat of an area as it was (and definitely a place he made a mental note to come back to one day), this wasn’t why Rory had come here. He needed information, and glancing at a map told him exactly where he needed to go.

As everyone fought, Tali gave a warning about an incoming debuff. Rory was confused at first, but once the man blew his horn he knew EXACTLY what was going on thanks to his [Scoping The Odds] passive. All the remaining monsters received a debuff to their [DEF] and [PWR], something that would only further cement their odds of winning here. The only downside, however, was that this also affected the other party members. Rory smirked as he threw both hands in the air, a spectral coin flipping above each. ”No Tali, that was a GREAT IDEA!” Activating his [Coin Flipper] ability, the Chaos Roller was able to flip the debuff on both Noelle and Vanilla to even FURTHER enhance their [DEF] and [PWR]. Rory also had the debuff affect him, but only barely- little enough that he decided it’d be best just to save his remaining coin flip in case a new need arises for it. With Tali and Rory standing back-to-back, Noelle providing extra support and defense, and Vanilla buffing up Tali even further, the battle finally clicked in Rory’s head. No, not just this battle, but combat in general. Fighting against waves of mobs with trustworthy teammates on your side, this was how it was meant to be! His grin changed to a smile, but not one of monetary wealth and sly behavior; this one was a smile of teamwork and camaraderie! ”Alright everyone, we’re almost there! Just a little longer!” Glancing out to the sea of sand ahead of them, Rory could tell they were getting really close to Ender Island now. Victory was really within their clutches! One of the remaining forsaken, the dark assassin monster that kept appearing and reappearing and being a general pain in the butt, finally popped up again. This time, it leapt out of the sand right next to Tali (No doubt a puddle if Rory’s mind wasn’t muddled), keeping its lower-half submerged while Slashing at the Apocalypse Knight’s ankles to try and cripple him. As it did so, however, the Roulette Wheel above them once again spun. ”Tsk tsk tsk! You should know better by now!” As the wheel stopped, the monster’s attack was reflected back to it--a gaping slash across its own chest that knocked it fully out of its hiding spot and out into the open, finally vulnerable. dantalion Noelle vanilla {STATS ETC}PARTY SYNERGIES: [Healthy Amount] -----STATS----- PWR: 13 (E) -> +5% = 14 (E) DEF: 21 (D -> +5% +1 Rank = 22 (C) SPD: 11 (E) -> +15% -1 Rank = 12 (F) MAG: 11 (E) -> +15% = 12 (E) VIT: 11 (E) -> +15% = 12 (E) WIL: 51 (B) -> +15% = 59 (B) LUK: -1

Val explained that his class was actually allowing him to sleep walk… interesting. Rory was meeting people with all kind of weird classes, but hey- at least it helped them scout! He found some survivors up ahead, and monsters as well. Rory was about ready for a fight when the man suggested he would lead them away and summoned a spear to his hand. As they car with the survivor inside came into view, Rory saw that the monsters themselves were massive, giant wolves trying to bust inside. ”Oh, y’know what? Yeah, that sounds like a great plan!” Though Rory himself wouldn’t be much help in that fight, by having the wolves lured away he could focus on helping the people. It was convenient for him, but was actually a genuinely good plan! Aliyah took to the air to follow after Val and make sure he was alright, while Rory and Alana made their way to the car. As he got close, he could already hear the screaming kids inside. ”oh god that sounds fun…” Sure enough, a mother and her two young children were inside, hunkered down and obviously quite scared. ”Someone order a rescue?”Despite his an Alana’s attempts to get her to open the door, the mom didn’t seem to hear them over the screaming. ”Perfect…” This was an annoying situation… Rory wished they could just bust the windows in to get the family out, but he didn’t really have any ability that could do that, nor did he want to risk hurting those inside. ”You don’t have any toys do you?” He certainly didn’t bring any, and it seemed like he was out of luck with Alana as well. Hmm… Searching his coat pockets, Rory found nothing but lint. The only things he had with him were his pretty pink parasol and the unlucky coin. They weren’t exactly coins, but maybe they could serve that purpose here. ”Woah look! Isn’t this cool!” Rory hated dealing with kids, but he didn’t really have a lot to work with here. He took his coin into his hand and twirled it in between his fingers up at the window. Though the face was simple, the coin itself glimmered, glinted, and glowed with all the colors of the rainbow. As Rory made his way along a path in the English Countryside, he suddenly felt a tingle along his neck. "Hm? Hmmm. My money senses are tingling..." Stopping to turn and glance around the area, nothing really seemed to signify money being nearby. There wasn't really even anything around, just forests and hills. "No, that can't be right!"
Activating his passive ability to scan the area for any active buffs, Rory finally spotted something when glancing at a large tree that sat alone at the top of a hill. A group of three large hornets were hiding in its leaves, all with a [Protector] Buff active. Looking at at the base of the tree, Rory noticed something glimmering in the light. A smirk crept up along his face as he changed his path, marching up towards the hill.
He crouched down once he got closer. Sure enough, at the base of the tree sat a big ol' chest. Rory's heart went aflutter at the sight. His mind went wild with ideas and theory's about all the money and wealth and valuable things that could be hidden inside! The hornets had come out of the leaves now, seemingly alerted that someone was in the area. Hm... annoying. Glancing at the buff they had again, Rory found out some very useful information.
[Protector: While within range of your nest, [DEF] is +3 Ranks]
As someone with very few means of attack for himself, fighting against a group of monsters with such a high stat boost was going to be nearly impossible. Despite this, the mans wicked grin grew even wider as he saw the buff, because for him... this meant the fight was going to be a cake walk. Standing up, Rory walked toward the nest unafraid.
"HEY YOU LITTLE SHITS! THAT TREASURE BELONGS TO ME!" He felt like a Yakuza boss just rolling up to the scene like that, but it certainly caught the hornets by surprise. They all suddenly turned to face him, BUZZING in a rhythm that almost made it sound like they were laughing. "NOTHING GETS IN BETWEEN ME AND TREASURE!" With that announcement, the bugs charged, all three of them flying out in a B-line straight for the man.
"HAHAHA! You fell for it!" Throwing his hands in the air, three coins flew out from Rory's hand. His [Coin Flipper] activated back to back to back, flipping the +3 [DEF] each of the hornets had to to a -3 [DEF] debuff in an instant. With the stage set, Rory flipped his wrists, sending out a barrage of cards at the bugs. A Hearts card hit one bug as he twirled, defeating it. He did a pirouette as a Clubs card sliced through the second hornet. Finally, with a bow, the king of Diamonds split the last hornet in half, RIGHT AT THE SAME moment that it stuck its stinger into his forehead.
"Thank you, thank you! Now..." Rushing over to the chest, Rory's face was swollen from the sting, but he didn't even care. Pain was fleeting, Wealth was forever! until he spent it With a look of success painted all over his face, the man eagerly flipped the top of the chest open. "Come to Papa!"

[attr="class","rorytextbox"] [attr="class","rorytext"] Rory was whistling as he made his way through Unison Central. His most recent shopping trip got him a box of scrap and a sandwich…. Maybe not the nicest things in the world, but hey- at least he was out here circulating currency. ”I know what I need… just a bit more Luck!” [break][break] Taking out his [Coin of Fickle Fate], Rory closed his eyes as he tossed it up into the air. ”Hiyah! C’mon baby gimme somethin’ good!” It twirled and flipped over on itself a whole seven times in the air, with each flip shining bright as a different color of the rainbow. When it finally landed on the back of his hand, Rory raised it up to his face.[break][break] ”C’mon…” When he opened his eyes, he saw… tails. ”NOO!” He didn’t need his buff-sensing eyes to tell him that his luck had been debuffed. With a big sigh, he slumped his shoulders as he looked the coin over in his hands. ”Maybe… just maybeeee… this thing doesn’t have my best interests in mind.” [break][break] The man walked ahead another block, pondering it over before coming to a full stop. ”Y’know what, yeah! I don’t need this thing! I can make my OWN luck!” Turning in the street, Rory looked at the various shops around him. Some were plainer than others, but one caused a wicked grin to curl across his face as he spotted it. [break][break] ”NIKOLAS' MAGICAL MYSTERY SHOP, hmm… let’s see what kind of mystery’s they deal in.” Rory made his way inside, taking a brief glance through the shop's wares before making his way to the owner. Yes, with all the different options available here, this seemed like just the kinda place he was looking for! [break][break] As it turned out, this place even had access to the Forge! That was unexpected… Rory thought back to the woman he had found himself with back when he fought Santa, the one who had made the coin to begin with. Hmmm…. Maybe fate was on his side after all.[break][break] ”Hello good sir, what a wonderful shop you have! I couldn’t help but notice you have access to The Forge as well? That’s awesome, what a great thing to be able to do! I’m envious, believe me.” Rory crouched over the counter, lowering his voice as he pulled out his coin to show to Nik. ”But y’know what it’s missing? Check this thing out.”[break][break] Rory let the man examine the coin as he explained what it did. ”This is a bona fide Forge made coin, using loot straight out of a world-boss fight. I should know, I was there! Now, you seem like a smart man, so this next part should catch your ears if it hasn’t already… It's a Luck booster. I don’t just mean in a superstitious way, no- it boosts the stat [LUCK] itself! It’s conditional in how it does so, but I mean hey.. How often do you find something that can do that?”[break][break] Rory again leaned in closer to the man, lowering his voice even further. ”Now here’s the real kicker. For the right price, I’m willing to part with it. I know, I know such a thing is easily worth thousands of points, but I see the value in this shop of yours, Nik. It’s not every day you bump into someone with Forge access! So how about this.” [break][break] Placing the coin on the counter between them, Rory tilted his head back in thought before looking back at the man with a wicked grin on his face. ”I’ll give you a discount here and part with it for, let’s say, 750 points. No, actually for you Nik, 600 should do… okay okay, you got me, I’ll even let it go for just a measly 550 points and a free forge usage~!” [break][break] Rory held the coin towards the man at the edge of his hand, physically showing how close it was to being let go. ”For someone with such an eye for wonderful magical items such as yourself, I’m sure that’s a reasonable price~!”[break][break] Template by: Nano[newclass=.rory]position:relative; height:600px; width:500px; background:#9d3e31; padding:2px; border-radius:100px 5px 5px 5px; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorypic] position:absolute; height:250px; width:500px; background: linear-gradient(-90deg, #9d3e31, transparent), url("https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/620772057935773710/1057438891336020029/rory.webp") no-repeat center; border-radius:100px 0px 0px; [/newclass] [newclass=.roryicon] height:100px;width:100px;background-image:url("https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/620772057935773710/1051400938050551909/image.png"); border-radius: 50px 50px 50px 50px; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorypkmnlist] width:20px; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorypkmn] position:relative; top:0px; right:-220px; height: 30px; width: 30px; padding:2px; margin:2px; background-color: #bbb; border-radius: 50%; display: inline-block; background-color:#9d3e31; border:solid 1px #736c51; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorytextbox] height:310px; width:260px; position:relative; right:100px; top:10px; padding:20px; background:#fff; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorytext] overflow:auto; text-align:justify; height:310px; font-size:12px; font-family: 'Roboto', sans-serif; color:#56535A; padding:5px; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorytext b] color:#9d3e31; [/newclass] [newclass=.roryside] position:absolute; top:490px; right:-10px; background:transparent; width:190px; padding:10px; max-height:70px; text-align:justify; overflow:auto; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorynotebox] position:absolute; top:390px; right:10px; background:#fff; border:solid 1px #736c51; width:150px; padding:10px; height:182px; overflow:auto; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorynotes] height:175px; overflow:auto; font-size:12px; text-align:justify; font-family: 'Roboto', sans-serif; color:#56535A; padding:3px; [/newclass] [newclass=.roryiconholder] border-radius:100px 100px 100px 100px; border:solid 1px #736c51; padding:10px; border-right-color: #FFFFFF; position:absolute; right:40px; top:260px; background:transparent; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorytext::-webkit-scrollbar] width:2px;background-color:#313131;border:#fff 1px solid; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorytext::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb] width:2px;background-color:#736c51; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorynotes::-webkit-scrollbar] width:2px;background-color:#313131;border:#fff 1px solid; [/newclass] [newclass=.rorynotes::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb] width:2px;background-color:#736c51; [/newclass] [googlefont=Roboto]

"What the hell is this?" Rory found himself a quaint little shop in Unison Central that seemed pretty diverse for what all it held inside of it. The outside of Kitty's reminded him almost of like something you'd find in a fairy tale, and just like in a story, it definitely seemed bigger on the inside.
At first the shop seemed to primarily be a library, but as he wandered through it Rory quickly realized there was more to it than just books. Like the big chain-bookstore from most of the cities he had lived in before the world changed, it even had its own little cafe inside too! More than that, however, there was a tiny shop within it that had its own little thing going on. A mini-market!
It gave the vibes of a shop that would rotate its stock out as time went on, but for now it mostly seemed to have various crafting supplies. Hmm... none of that would really help Rory for the time being while he was still focusing on getting himself set-up in the world, but one of the items really just perplexed him. "...is it just trash?"
Powder and burnt left-overs in a pile was something that really made him scratch his head. Reading the sign near it, Rory saw that it was MEANT to be some scrap left behind from an experiment. "Why would anyone wanna buy this..?" It HAD to be trash, and with how cheap it was?! Surely it had just been left behind, placed on the counter instead of being thrown away!
"..."
Although... this new world was weird. Rory tossed his coin, flipping a whole 7 times in the air before landing. Checking the coin it... Was heads! Luck seemed to be kn his side today... and opportunities seemed to lie in places you'd least expect them. Was this something worth taking a gamble with? As cheap as it was, maybe he could even pawn it off again if nothing could be done with the item... A creepy grin spread across Rory's face as he slammed his hand down on the counter to scoop up the scrap.
"YEAH, I'M GONNA BUY THIS FAILED REACTION!"
...As it turned out, the item actually WAS just scrap, not for sale. "O-oh. Um. I'll take the metal bits then..." Buyer's remorse kicked in instantly for the man. He was embarrassed by his mistake, and mostly just bought the bits so as to not upset the little girl that seemed to be running the shop. Defeated by the woes of capitalism, Rory made his way to Kitty's cafe for a quick snack before heading out again. The cafe seemed like it automatically dispensed its food, but he didn't mind that- really it didn't matter what he got, he just wanted something to bring him back up!

"Center? Woah, pretty neat! Haha, why would I run from something like that?" Noelle spun her umbrella in such a way that made Rory see rocks, sand and wind in its panels. Even when he looked away from the umbrella, the illusion persisted, Letting him hear the sound of the dunes. His eyes itched from the sandy wind, and the hues of this building and vegetation within it all seemed to shift to a more desert-esq tone. "Hmpf. Deserter."[break][break]
Rory jumped from the sound behind him, quickly flipping around to find the voice. "Wh-what'd you say?" There was no way anyone here would say such a thing out of nowhere... right? Rory thought he was confident in that, but even the wind itself seemed to carry harsh laughs directed at him. "I.. what?" The man's grip tightened around his pretty pink umbrella, but when he looked toward the item, he instead saw a pretty pink rifle in its place. [break][break]
He coughed, caught up on himself for forgetting to let out his held breath. This... this wasn't right! A pop-up appeared in front of Rory, telling him that an effect had given him +DEF and -SPD. He didn't really know what was going on, but the pop-up suddenly reminded him of his class and its abilities. A coin suddenly appeared in Rory's hand as he threw it forcibly onto the ground, activating his Coin Flipper and changing the effect to increase his speed. [break][break]
As soon as the effect activated, Rory ran. There was a battle happening around him, but… everywhere he went, so too did the sand. He tried hiding behind a pillar, but the sound of flames made him run even more- this time right into the face of a spider. [break][break]
There was barely a moment to think before the spider spat at him, covering Rory in a web it spat at him. ”GWAH!” With nowhere to run to, and nowhere to hide, Rory activated the ability of his coat.[break][break]
The webs that the spider spat at him were overtaken by his OWN webs. They shot out from the inside of his coat, but not at the spider- instead, the coat spun him in place as more and more webbing accumulated, placing him in a vaguely person-shaped cocoon. [break][break]
