"Yeah, uh huh, yep, yeah, I've got it. Jeez, Clairy! I said I've got it handled, if there's any info that can be found about her around there you know I'll find it," Valentine said, letting out a small sigh before finishing with a "Yeah, I love you too bro, wai- What do you mean I'm 2 hours late?" Then he was kicked into the waypoint, a strong roundhouse by his brother and the only words mused out Saint Claire's mouth were "Roadhouse!" Followed by obnoxious laughter.[break][break]

"You fucker!" Valentine screamed as he had finished passing through the waypoint, the momentary flash of light plaguing his vision before it came fully back into focus. He glanced around to see he was back in New York City, oh how he missed it, not really, at least not since the world went to shit and Clairy got tired of raiding shopping centers with him for clothes.[break][break]

Moving swiftly Valentine pressed his knees to the ground, and astral projected, before standing his physical body upright. He checked the interior of this so-called 'League's temporary headquarters' and he spotted three people all of whom seemed pretty normal to him, in the world has gone to shit but you've managed to keep some of your sanity kind of way, anyway. [break][break]

Valentine made his way into the headquarters with his physical body, waiting for it to catch up to his astral one who had been standing far enough to see rather than overhear the conversation amongst the trio. Valentine eventually stepped into the spot his astral body rested, his eyes fluttered open as his two "bodies" became one again and he walked he placed both his hands in the ear. "Uh, I come in peace?" He said with a slightly uncertain tone. Clearing his throat he quickly followed up with, "if you're peaceful to me that is," he gave a wide grin.[break][break]

Pressing his fingers to the bridge of his nose before letting out a small sigh. He let his long braids shake to the side, a byproduct of his head shaking from left to right as he glanced up slowly at the others who had now stood in front of him and been unceremoniously subjected to his cheesy late arrival thanks to his younger brother. Granted Clairy had just found out about the mission and had to verify it before he passed it along, it couldn't have all been easy or speedy. [break][break]

"Name's Valentine, but I go by Val or Qupid too, I'm a scout first and foremost and have a little bit of experience with a spear," he said with a calm tone.[break][break]

"I'm here to join this mission, I have a personal reason as to doing so, but I'll do my best to stick to the most efficient method of saving others," Valentine chimed on before bowing slightly. "I look forward to working with you all," he placed his right hand on his hip, relaxed, and then waited for the others to respond.

It seemed that one of the players didn't take kindly to the man's tone as the other woman rose to her feet and walked out. Aliyah was kind of surprised that she would leave the citizens on their own like that but didn't speak up about it. The other two members at least spoke up in their agreement so it seemed that their group was now a trio.[break][break]

"Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated." The man nodded at them in thanks before he was called out of the room, leaving them with Alana. With that part done, the group then set off with Alana leading them toward their section.[break][break]

Aliyah kept glancing at Valentine, confused as he seemed to be sleepwalking. She was tempted to wake him up, but since he wasn't tripping over any of the debris that had fallen in the street, she left it. She was taken by slight surprise when he pointed at her but composed herself as she answered the question.[break][break]

"I'm a tamer. More specifically a bird tamer. What about you Rory?' she asked, not sure if he had mentioned it earlier.[break][break]

Meanwhile, a few blocks away, a mother, her young son, and her infant child were trapped inside a car, praying that someone would come to save them. A pack of 5 wolves circled the car, letting out growls and pouncing against the doors and windows, slowly cracking them as hunger burned in their eyes.[break][break]

Valentine's head bobbed up and down slowly in retort to Rory asking him if he was okay. He took note of the guy's class, bad luck that had apparently been spread to all of them, and the fact that his class was called Chaos Roller and that Aliyah's class was tamer based and specialized in birds. He thought that was interesting and wondered how both played out in battle. "My class lets me see in the distance by sleepwalking essentially," he muttered, before following up with "It's strange but effective for scouting," he said forcing his body to smile before it quickly dropped. "survivors spotted in the distance, large wolves as well,"[break][break]

Valentine's physical body stopped as his astral body had come upon the creatures surrounding the car, they looked like large wolves, the system named them "Dire Wolves," a little on the nose, but that wasn't the issue. His physical body dug into his inventory producing an odd-looking spear, one that was clearly not normal. It was a spear that was made of a black oily metal that radiated red sparks of lightning. It had a long thin-bladed spear tip with several notches in it. If anything the spear looked sinister, cruel even, as if it was designed to dish out the most hurt possible, and it was.[break][break]

His physical body muttered, "Stay back, I'll go first take care of drawing the aggro of the wolves. We're only on the outskirts now, but things tend to get worse the deeper we go into the city, and the further we go into the buildings or beneath it," Valentine's tone was certain, though dreary as it was. He had spent enough time in New York looking for his sister all this time, not to mention setting up a couple of bases in some of the other boroughs. Primarily around Times Square and Central Park, though he had ventured enough to know his words held merit to them.[break][break]

He took out a deep breath and let it out before running forward, he wasn't the fastest, that much was oblivious, he figured he'd stay that way for now until he needed to funnel points into his speed. Which he planned to do... Eventually. Valentine held his spear out in front of him aiming for one of the feral dire wolves, a shard of ice formed above it, misting the air around it as it funneled itself into a replica of the spear in his hands. The ice spear then rocketed forward, moving just about as fast as him crashing into an unsuspecting dire wolf.[break][break]

The wolf yelped in pain before being flung back into another wolf and slumping over, it looked drained as red lightning danced around its body where the spear had struck. The other dire wolves made their way toward him three of them pouncing at once and all three were cut down by quick slashes of his spear. His movements were practiced but crude, like someone who had only trained in the spear for a couple of months. Simple and basic movements, but effective, and with each strike, Valentine like the poison of the spear inject into them. [break][break]

All the wolves were weary of him now, making distance but circling him as they occasionally faltered from the shock of red lightning coursing through their bodies alongside the poison and the bleeding wounds. Valentine wanted the wolves' attention on him for now, that way the others could either support or focus on trying to get the children, especially as Valentine decided to start making a run for it in the opposite direction of the car, sending his astral body ahead of him to scout out for potential dangerous only for him to realize he was heading toward a dead end.[break][break]
