The system still made little to no sense even after being awake for two weeks and having working to understand what she could do. Noelle had to think that there was really just something seriously wrong with the head of the person that was running this whole joke. She hated this new reality, but her understanding of stoicism was something that was necessary for her to survive so the silver haired girl didn't actually complain much about the new world order. Even if it was anything, but orderly.
Walking the coast she had plenty of room for vision, but she also wasn't moving completely out in the open. Her umbrella was closed in hand and ready to go for her good abilities, but she really needed to reach a place that was safer. Even the people she had met so far were absolutely abnormal. That one man, he wasn't a bad guy for sure... but he was so damn strange. Some kind of scholar of nature who had a serious complex about the cycles of nature working as intended.
Earnestly she was likely safer with him, but he had disappeared on her and she had already been planning to move away and out towards the coast. Following the weather patterns for signs of higher moisture gathering. Her movement was constant, she had nothing better to do after all, but it was dreadfully boring and talking to herself was something they considered completely off the table.
The Echo Fabricator would look back and forth again. She was not going to let herself go crazy. She would find something... someone... anyone... please.

"This looks nothing like the California I remember." Natalya muttered as she wandered along the coastline. She made sure to keep an internal note of how long she had been walking as well as making sure to walk in a straight line since it was far too easy to get lost in a desert with no landmarks. She had no wish to die out here and her body to be feasted upon by the beasts here.[break][break]
She was taking this free time that she had to go explore the changes made around the world; helped by those handling little teleportation travel and this was one of her first stops. She figured that it would be best to start with what she was familiar with and had initially gone to Russia but that had ended very badly as that had been transformed into a mist-filled valley of undead and automatons.[break][break]
"Given how strong the weakest of them was, it'll be a while before I can safely journey through the motherland. I'll have to do a lot more training." she mused as she gazed out into the sea.

Hana was getting pretty good at this driving thing, she thought. Or maybe she was just getting used to this particular pickup? It was certainly easier to drive than the tractor. She didn't really think of it as 'her' truck, but she'd used it a few times while near LA. She kept the key in her inventory, but it wasn't like she bothered to lock the doors, since one of the windows was broken. There just weren't many people properly licensed to drive vehicles, so she wasn't really worried it would disappear.

"Maybe I should do another box delivery while I'm here?" Hana thought out loud to herself, while enjoying the scenery and working on her driving skills. It was much easier out here, away from the city, without so many stalled cars or fallen buildings. The ocean to one side not only looked nice, but made navigation much more relaxed than following the system's directions.

The site of one small figure walking along the coast caught her attention, but only caused her to slow down. Spotting a second, similarly short person around the next curve brought her to a stop. Hana wasn't quite sure what to do for a moment.

Eventually she put the truck in park, honked the horn, and leaned out of the window to wave to the two travelers, smiling brightly. Although it seemed like the two each wouldn't realize the other was there until they approached the truck and left the obstructing bit of landscape behind.

They were frankly baffled by the notion that people had already earned so many points that they could have freely shoved currency towards the gaining of a vehicle again. She would have given up an arm for that license... probably. She really had to stop raising red flags in her own head thinking such morbid thoughts. Tiredly she would wave, only to realize she had been... really close to another person as well actually.

Her voice was honestly closer to sarcasm then it was anything else and she internally slapped herself for the stupid question. Approaching she would give a small wave to both, her large heavy raingear a standout for the current landscapem even moreso then her pale skin and white hair for someone so young in appearance. They weren't immediately trusting still though as they kept their distance from both of the girls here looking between them with a cool gaze. Still not openly hostile, just cautious. Natalya found her peace was interrupted by the sound of a car driving down the coast. The sound was surprising as Natalya had learned very early on that all electronics were no longer functioning. This included things like guns, buildings, and even cars; unless one decided to spend the points to purchase the license.[break][break]
"Even in the middle of the apocalypse, capitalism still finds a way to thrive. It honestly should be surprised at this point." she muttered under her breath as she turned, curious to see who would be driving.[break][break]
The car that pulled up had seen better days. One of the windows was completely gone with dust and dirt streaking the sides. "Unsightly." was all that she could think of as the car pulled to a stop and a woman waved at her and the other woman that she had been ignoring previously.[break][break]
She spared a glance over at the other woman at her passive-aggressive comment before visibly dismissing her in only the way someone of a highborn class could to someone they found beneath them.[break][break]
"You honestly can't be expecting me to get into...that can you? Not even counting the fact that you are a complete stranger." she stated, her Russian accent coming across thickly as she spoke.

Ah, the sunny shores of California. It was her second time back here and already, Vanilla was interested to see what the rest of this place had in store. Despite the majority of people currently being blinked out of existence, the city was still a paradise for capitalism as ever. So of course, it had attracted the littlest aspiring business owner here more than ever. Vanilla was still a bit stumped on where to open her business at, having visited all sorts of places. Seoul had been pretty cool, all things considered, but Vanilla wasn't the biggest fan of the incident where a mecha had almost squished her. While a good story, she preferred to be human shaped instead of pancake shaped. She wandered around the streets of the city on her part sightseeing part looking at locations to open up shop at that weren't too far into enemy territory or in danger of being robbed. Grrr, things were a lot more annoying to do when you didn't have any sort of way of getting around this place faster. It was like that everywhere, with electronics and vehicles just flat out not working. So when Vanilla's ears heard the sound of a car being driven close by, her curiosity had been thrown into overdrive. Somebody had actually paid the amount of money to not get a car, not even find one, but to be able to turn on the engine for one?! That was almost a thousand points, and it was far more money than she had made in profit even just wandering around and doing odd jobs! The short woman skittered across the way to peak out at whoever was driving the vehicle as her eyes caught on three woman she had never met or seen before. They were all gathering inside of a beaten down looking truck that was at least functionable, all things considered. Thoughts ran amok in her head. She could seriously cover a lot more ground in that thing than walking the entire way. But were the group willing to put up with a fresh face? Time would certainly tell! But if she waited too long, this was going to be gone forever. So Vanilla summoned up her courage and ran towards the vehicle with her arms waving as high as could be. "W-Wait up!" The girl called out in an accent that was drenched in tea of being so English. She called out to the truck gang, who would look up to see a woman that couldn't be over 4'3" that was scurrying up with her hands up and trying to catch their attention. Once she was close enough, Vanilla would try and reason with them. "Ah-I'm not an enemy or armed. I'm just a merchant looking for a ride. "Uh, well, you're not on the road, so I don't think I'd run you over, no." Hana blinked at the strange question. She didn't seem like that bad of a driver, did she? This girl in the raincoat reminded her of Corsen. But more talkative. Which wasn't a high bar to clear.

"Um, hello! I'm Hana, and-" She was cut off as Natalya questioned her. "...well, not if you don't want to? I was just on my way back to the Safe Zone in LA, and I saw you were both headed what way, so..." This wasn't exactly how Hana had expected this conversation to go.

And then, a voice from the other (non-coastal) side of the truck made her turn to look across the passenger's seat to the new arrival. "Huh? Um, sure! The more the merrier, right?" She beamed happily at the request. This was more in line with what she'd expected. "The door's unlocked." The passenger's side window of the brown pickup truck was also broken, so there wasn't much stopping her from getting in anyway.

After that, Hana turned to look through her open window at Noelle and Natalya. "Well, if you want a ride to LA, I guess the back of the truck is still available! Oh, I can play us some music, too!"

One girl had a truck, another had somehow been just ahead of her out of sight, still shocked on that one she was, another had come from even further inland... four ladies, one truck. Something about this just seemed very off to Noelle but she wasn't about to complain to the three here about how weird all these people converging at once was. Actually, Noelle was going to call this system tomfoolery.

"Sure, I'll take a ride. I'm not gonna pretend this is normal though," Noelle would state unsummoning her umbrella to her inventory. She could be trusting see? She could totally trust a random truck driver and two other complete strangers. No issues, none, none whatsoever. Walking forward up to the truck she looked between the other two and with a blank expression opened the front passenger seat, "Shotgun."

Fastening a seat belt almost felt foreign to the girl as she locked herself in. Noelle would lean her elbow on the door rest and look over at her new ride, "Noelle Washington, Seattle Survivor, and Climatologist. I'd say its good to meet you, but Im desperate and this is honestly great. Its still weird seeing four people and a truck after three weeks of silence... except that one weird dude." "They just keep popping up like weeds," Natalya thought disparagingly as another girl came running up at the sound of a truck. "Do none of them have any shred of self-preservation?"[break][break]
The new girl was one of incredibly short stature to the point that Natalya wasn't even sure if she topped over the 4-foot range. "You'd think someone of English origins would be more sensible." She continued her observations before deciding that it wouldn't hurt to travel with them for a bit. She needed to form as many connections as she could, especially in the early days.[break][break]
"Well since everyone else is doing so, I might as well. Safety in numbers and all that." she said with a sigh before climbing into the back, waiting for the truck to take off toward L.A. "Natalya Romanov."

To her luck, the women in the truck didn't point guns or weapons at her, or even try to kill her! In fact, the driver welcomed her into their little squad. This caused the English woman to beam at the other girls, doing her best to let her envy at their height and figure to go unnoticed (or at least as much as possible). There was a stoic, hooded woman that looked towards the rest of the girls there, likely figuring out who would go where on the truck. Not wanting to be too much of a hassle, Vanilla would look at the bed of the truck. "Ah-I don't mind sitting in the back, if it helps. I don't take up that much space anyway." The pink haired woman slowly climbed into the back of the vehicle while everyone else would get ready for themselves. "How did you find a working truck, anyway? these things are pretty rare from what I hear." Vanilla commented, stretching her legs out while scaling the side of the truck. It likely would have been a typical step over for any other person but that was a perk of being short. Every little hill was a mountain to conquer. Once everything got moving and they were on the road, the woman pushed her large glasses back up to the bridge of her nose. Come to think of it, the driver was pretty young. Like Vanilla looked like a quarter of her age but even then, she at least had a driver's license back home. "You can, ah, drive...Right?" Regardless of the answer, a free ride was a free ride. So the girl enjoyed her time with the others. When it came time to introduce herself, she'd beam at everyone present. "Vanilla, but Nilla's fine. And yes, that is my actual name. My mom's a bit weird with our names. I have a brother named Biscotti among others." she said, offering a smirk. "I'm an Enchanter searching for a place to open my store in the future. "Oh, well, I think it's nice to meet you, Noelle. You didn't, um, walk all the way here from Seattle, I hope?" Hana was fairly certain that was rather far away. Unless the geography in between had shifted significantly, which was actually a possibility.

As the others began to pile into the back of the pickup, she opened a small window behind the the cab's seats, making it easier to speak to them. "I hope it's not too uncomfortable, Miss Natalya." Hana paused for a moment, thinking. "...why's that name sound so familiar?" The final passenger distracted her from that train of thought with a question.

"Oh, a lot of them still work, if you find one in one piece. Someone might've already siphoned the fuel, though." She'd had to do that often enough herself, now. "You just need one of the new licenses, and they're kinda expensive." Hana nodded and smiled at the other girl wearing glasses, before facing forwards again. "I've gotten pretty good at it over the last couple of months!"

Hana got the truck back in drive and pointed the right way, slowly accelerating before reaching a comfortable speed. There were still stalled cars and other obstacles to consider, but she'd already driven this way out of town, so she was prepared. "Nice to meet you too, Miss Vanilla!" The teen had to speak up a bit, now. "No problem! Oh, music!" The truck was just the right age to have a CD player as well as a data port, which she was quite happy about.

With another smile to Noelle in the cab next to her, Hana reached over and hit the play button, turning up the volume a bit as somewhat poppy rock music began to play. With no speakers in the bed of the truck, the other two would only hear what escaped through the open windows. "It's in Japanese, but uh, I guess that doesn't matter anymore."
