Wind echoed inside of the abandoned mall, the bastion of capitalism where dollars and goods were once exchanged for the most meager of experiences. Pushing the doors open revealed the musty, dust laden air that hung low as the empty mall sprawled in front of her. But some shuffling came from behind one of the old kiosks whose monitors were forever pitch black and abandoned. Clacks of heels echoed around as the creaks and groans of old foundation and metal came from further down. The small figure soon stuck her head out from her hiding spot as a bespectacled pink head of hair looked over at Dalton. "O-Oh. You're not one of them..." Vanilla said with a terrified expression, stepping out and walking closer to Dalton. He was taller than she was, though not by much. Maybe she was even shorter because of her own heeled footwear. The woman waved, though turned back behind her as something on the floor above them had caused a sudden noise. "Sorry if I scared you. I'm...technically not really even supposed to be here as a shopkeeper. I just came to search for somebody."The brit went back to Dalton and his husbando with a pleased smile, attempting not to see too jumpy from going on her own inside of the mall. "I'm Vanilla by the way."Dalton Chua

Vanilla watched as the woman stared at her with an intimidating glare. Even though she had greeted her as warm as anybody else, she still looked as if the woman had a blood vendetta against her. It wasn't exactly known why the woman had hated her so much. The tiny woman began to open her mouth and begin apologizing before her hand was raised by the customer. She was certain that this woman was going to start chopping off fingers or something and Vanilla started to freak out until... The sensation of lips against her hand had caused her to freeze in panic, her brain slowly registering the events that had just happened. This woman just kissed her hand and spoken French? Her face began to turn red in response, beginning with her cheeks and slowly spreading through her head. "E-Eh?!?!?!"It took a few more moments for her to understand what Lafey had wished to buy from her, as her mind was a whirlwind of constant stimuli and repeating the hand kiss. She had taken some minor French lessons long ago, but nothing that could begin to question this woman. All that she could blurt out was opening her phone and nodding her head up and down. "Y-Yes! Um,. I'll get it now. J-Just give me 80 Points."lafey

The bell above the door rung out while Vanilla sat in the back room that was connected to the area behind the front counter. She had been in the middle of a good book when the first customer in a while had come into her store/home that it took her by surprise people tended to remember she was there. From the sounds of their voice, it sounded like they were quite the kind of person to really be a pain to deal with at times. She knew that long and annoyed groan anywhere. "Oh, I'm coming! Hold on!"She walked out into the main store to see a tall, imposing woman that had was expecting service of any kind. She readjusted her glasses that had slid down her nose before offering a kind but tired smile up at her with a stifled yawn. "Sorry, I was catching some shut eye. I've been pretty busy after the recent Halloween events and more. I'm Vanilla, the owner of the store. Is there anything I can help you with?" She asked, her store menu popping up for the woman. lafey

It was through their combined efforts that the skeleton menace would finally come to an end. The lands surrounding Andy's restaurant would slowly be restored to their former glory, as the rolling green scenery grew over the places of dead grass and other unsightly places. It was rather comforting in a way, enough so that Vanilla's eyes widened in amazement that she had managed to hold her own for such a mission. "We...did it!" she said in an exhausted tone. Her smaller body wasn't used to the euphoria of after combat bliss. The calming sensation that came once the danger had passed and one could breathe normally for a change. She placed her weapon back into her bag and spun around to face Andy while the rest of the lands surrounding the place reverted back to normal. "Good work. I'm not one to do this type of thing again, but I will admit that it was interesting, in a way." She imagined herself in armor like Tali, or with a sword like Summer's. Her pretty pink hair holding that samurai sword quite fierce. Vanilla wondered how she was doing before shaking her head. Andy did have a good point. Vanilla hadn't heard from Jeanne or Kitty for quite some time, let alone most members of E2C. She had to wonder how they would be doing, but being heads of the guild, there was a lot that could be going on. Andy seemed to be announcing his departure from the guild as he extended his hand to her. Vanilla smiled, meeting his and shaking it up and down with a smile. "I'd love to meet up with you again someday. I'll let Jeanne and Kitty know about you leaving, even if they may not be around now. I'll come and drop by every now and again, but please keep safe. If you ever need anything, I'll be around."Vanilla beamed at Andy and wished him well before leaving Andy and his restaurant behind her. Andy Larsen

"I did, but it's just another random chance class, but with pachinko this time. Useful, but way more non combat focused. I'm hoping to get something for a makeover soon. Maybe make me less of a shrimp." Vailla answered about the question to her subclass. She had visited Asia while on her travels and found a lot of their gachapon machines rather cute. Ironically, it had been one of the pachinko parlors that had been what her subclass was based on. "M-Maybe I could find a teacher...I haven't seen Tali in a while, and he must be pretty good at fighting, even without his class. I can't carry anything like a sword his size, mind you, but something like a knife is fine."Vanilla looked a little shocked when Andy complimented her combat prowess. She had brushed it off as just a simple ability that was used to get her out of trouble. But when used on allies, it had its uses. This did make her reconsider being a non combat related job, although the woman did have to stop and wonder about that. She could barely survive a punch thrown at her, let alone an entire dungeon's worth of baddies. Still, she'd keep it under consideration. Andy's swing did make him able to cleave straight through skeletons, a feat that brought joy to her lips. "Right! Let's mop them up quick and get on with the tea."Vanilla threw her weapon at the next few skeletons, bouncing it off of their bodies. Its surrounding damage had been significant enough to cause them to stumble back, followed by her using the edge to sever their heads from their bony bodies once she had caught it again. Her little confidence boost had done wonders, as she quickly pushed her way to more, swinging her weapon around to damage the last few remaining skeletons. Andy Larsen

Vanilla was standing in the middle of skeleton central, clutching the handle of her weapon for dear life as Andy did his best to help her along with her attacks and style. It was really the only time she could partake in combat like this, and she was thankful they were weak enough enemies. The shopkeep, glanced back up at the other man while he cleared through another skeleton. "Oh? Thank you. Maybe I should see about starting combat classes or something. I don't really get to leave the shop often. It's why I came here anyway."She'd toss her weapon at another small group of skeletons before then gently holding onto Andy's weapon. "Wait, let me try and help." Vanilla's hands emit a soft light as Andy's weapon would suddenly glow. A soft hum could be heard as it's power had increased from her abilities. "There, that should help you a little bit. It's the only thing I can do at the moment though."Andy LarsenArmament - The user picks a weapon to use this ability on. When the weapon is chosen it will gain a soft glow to it the color of the weapon. The glow makes it feel like the weapon is alive and singing. While this ability is active, damage from that weapon is increased by one rank. This ability will only work on one weapon at a time. It lasts four four posts with a four post cooldown.

Oh, she was doing something good? That was new! Vanilla looked up in admiration at Andy, happy to hear that she had done something right for a change! The small shopkeeper hadn't had the most thorough background in combat, especially with her small stature, but she could dive between zombies and evade capture fairly easily. Vanilla spun her weapon around anxiously, eyeing the zombies that were still an incoming problem. "Thanks. Definitely not built for fighting though."Andy went on about how he had called for help from the guild in some attempt to push back whatever creatures were interfering on his front lawn. The army of the undead were still uprooting themselves onto his lawn as the other two seemed to be on their own in terms of support. "It would appear so." Vanilla said to Andy with a huff. "I don't think the others are coming, so we'll have to deal with this ourselves...somehow."She frowned and would force back an incoming skeleton by stabbing her shuriken through its head then pulling it out to throw around her in a curve. The large weapon mowed down a few skeletons in its wake before then returning to the woman's hand. "Any plans to deal with them on such a widespread level?"Andy Larsen

The skeleton hadn't appreciated her flailing her weapon about and poised ready to strike her down then and there had it not been for the timely intervention of a knife embedding itself in the skeletons head. On contact, it crumbled from having its life force entirely drained. Vanilla spun her head around just in time to catch Andy offing another skeleton nearby as he made his presence known to her. He kept the skeletons at bay while offering from sage words of advice to the shopkeeper. "Easy for you to say. I've barely fought anything before. Usually running away just works fine."Vanilla couldn't really calm herself fully, but enough to take in how dire the situation was. She looked down at her weapon and felt a little shorted in terms of defending herself. Why couldn't she get a cool sword like that? Regardless, there were skeletons to unalive. The small woman bound forward at the closest skeleton and aimed her next attack at the creatures head. It didn't do much given her power, but the sudden shift had caused her victim to seize in place as it tried to straighten its head back. Vanilla lunged again, shoving the blade into the neck to fully severe it as a puff of dust and a collapsing skeleton would signal a job done. "So I take it that this isn't your idea of a welcome party?" Vanilla asked, glancing back at the man. "Where are all of them coming from anyway? Did you set up on a graveyard or something?"Andy Larsen

Vanilla had been en route to Andy's farm, the first real steps outside of Unison Central in quite some time. Goodness, maybe she should take some time to get out of her shop every now and again! The tiny shopkeeper didn't really expect to be caught up in anything on a mundane visit to a guildmate's property. But here they were! She had been outside fully when some of the area had suddenly changed to fit the times they were experiencing. Trees dying rapidly as bits of land would decay into a sickly state. "Is this part of the party?" Vanilla asked, turning around just in time to see the tombstones shooting out of the ground. It was a cute lawn decoration, at least until skeletons began to uproot themselves from the ground. Now Vanilla was a lot of things, a shopkeeper, a business owner. What she wasn't was a dedicated fighter, somebody who honed their skills in tackling beasts of all sizes. So when this shown itself on her doorstep, she could only hurry to the door and beat on it in the hopes Andy was inside. "A-Andy! I kind of need you right now! Your lawn's being invaded by the Undead!"As some approached, she yelped and dug into her bag for something that could help. It took some digging for a moment until her salvation presented itself as...a huge shuriken? It was pretty large for some kind projectile, but it would make due for what she would use it for. Vanilla swung it around her, damaging some of the skeletons with a weak attack but buying her some time. "Any time now Andyyyy!"Andy Larsen

The night sky hung above Vanilla, as the tiny woman had been walking for what felt like an eternity now. Fumbling to push her glasses back up to the bridge of her nose, she found herself down to only fragments of the metal sheet that had been some mere fragments here and there, on the account of the worms getting more hostile at night. No longer could she walk by unscathed without risking being swallowed by one of these things. The fangs shot up from the upturned ground and pierced through her metal sheets if she took too long making her way to the next outcropping of rocks, to which there were no more. All there was beyond her were uninterrupted hillsides of grass and flora.
"Damn it, I haven't found that portal yet. And I'm all out of rocks..."
Vanilla huffed as she was at an impasse. There wasn't much else to do now.
She could wait until morning until the worms calmed down. And then be stuck here. Or she could head backward and find a new direction to go. And lose the one thing that was protecting her from the worms.
Vanilla frowned at her current predicament. There wasn't some kind of way out of this, was there? All she could do was to carry on and see how much longer she could go on like this. With her fragments of scrap in hand, the woman would step onto the ground with a chunk of scrap metal that wasn't much larger than her own body. Then, the next sheet was placed down as she stepped onto that one. She then retrieved the first item and placed that one down in front of the metal item that she had set down and so on.
And there it was. A blue portal just over across the field. Vanilla smiled upon spotting it and doubled her efforts, at least until one of the sand worms would charge straight towards her, opening its maw out of the ground to then swallow the metal fragments whole. Not fully exposed to the elements, Vanilla began to make a mad dash to the portal. She took off her heels and began to make her way all the wait towards her goal. Behind her, the sound of roaring worms and shuffling dirt could be heard.
"Yep! Definitely not like trains."
One worm dove right for her as Vanilla dove right just in time. The assaulter and crashed into another predator worm that had been vying for its chance to take the morsel that was Vanilla. The two began to feud, screaming at one another while the others continued to run alongside the woman. But the escape portal was right in her sight. Vanilla dove straight in just as they all converged on her, only for her body to vanish inside of the exit and cause all three worms to smash together, looking wildly for their prey.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Couldn't even leave me gloves..."
Vanilla had taken turns making her own little makeshift route all the way across this strange little desert-like field as whatever was in the ground would circle around her, ready to turn her into a bite sized snack. The task of walking across the hot metal roofing tile, jumping onto the nearest section of the earth that wasn't on a rock, and then quickly retrieving her metal plate was nothing short of painfully tedious.
Emphasis on the painful part.
Vanilla sat down on the roof after some time, as the sun had spent the majority of the day, beating down on top of the younger business owner as she tried to catch her breath and give her hands a break. Even if the temperature had come down from its hot afternoon, the metal had retained the heat and had been slow to really cool down. With the worms still circling around the area nearby, all seemed a little bit lost for Vanilla. Was she going to end up stuck in here like this?
Just then, her phone vibrated! With a text from Earth-chan!
"This better be worth it..." Vanilla sighed and picked herself on two feet again before continuing her slow crawl across the grasslands for the portal. Hopefully the metal sheet would last long enough...

The door opened as Vanilla came face to face with the man from before. She recognized that spiffy looking suit from anywhere, having recalled that mysterious man that came in some time ago. This time she could see him, which maybe was some kind of extension of a mutual business relationship. "Ah, welcome back. It's wonderful to see a familiar face around here." The man was even here ordering a lootbox again. "It would be my pleasure. Here."
Vanilla got her phone out and brought up the shop menu to purchase a lootbox, as a Jeanne themed side window opened to display the luck meter. The small woman would make the purchase and wait with baited anticipation.
