[nospaces] [attr="class","dal2tempy"] [attr="class","dal2reescroll"] In his search for some new clothes for his Husbando Dalton found himself in the parking lot of a large abandoned mall. Well, that wasn't the only reason why he was here. On the way, the system decided to grace him with the bane of all gamers: the fetch quest. [break][break] Apparently, items created by the system paled in comparison to those that were made by hand or before everything happened. Or so the quest-giver said in the mission description. They were looking for a bag of coffee that existed before. It seemed easy enough since he was going to an area where he'd be able to find the item anyway so he decided to accept it. [break][break] Noel took the lead as the pair entered the enormous building. Thankfully his first Husbando was a tank so Dalton didn't have to worry about much besides a surprise attack. Hopefully. With it being a C-rank Mission he'd likely have to deal with some sort of obstacle. With one having a bat in hand and the other an old handheld console they ventured forth to search for clothes... and coffee. Wind echoed inside of the abandoned mall, the bastion of capitalism where dollars and goods were once exchanged for the most meager of experiences. Pushing the doors open revealed the musty, dust laden air that hung low as the empty mall sprawled in front of her. But some shuffling came from behind one of the old kiosks whose monitors were forever pitch black and abandoned. Clacks of heels echoed around as the creaks and groans of old foundation and metal came from further down. The small figure soon stuck her head out from her hiding spot as a bespectacled pink head of hair looked over at Dalton. "O-Oh. You're not one of them..." Vanilla said with a terrified expression, stepping out and walking closer to Dalton. He was taller than she was, though not by much. Maybe she was even shorter because of her own heeled footwear. The woman waved, though turned back behind her as something on the floor above them had caused a sudden noise. "Sorry if I scared you. I'm...technically not really even supposed to be here as a shopkeeper. I just came to search for somebody."The brit went back to Dalton and his husbando with a pleased smile, attempting not to see too jumpy from going on her own inside of the mall. He hadn't noticed the woman until she startled him by suddenly speaking. What happened next was an unfortunate accident as she had indeed scared the poor man holding a console. Her voice caused him to jump and yelp. When she came closer he pressed a button on his item sending a bright flash in her direction. After which he promptly ran to hide behind Noel. [break][break] The trading card that flew into Dalton's hand confirmed that what she said was true. She wasn't a monster, but a player just like him. Still, he wasn't sure about this new woman. His suspicious glaring was interrupted by another noise behind her which he promptly flashed his camera at again. The flash was much more concentrated and almost looked like a laser as it shot forward into the ground. [break][break] While their summoner was being a nervous wreck, Noel glanced back and forth between the two short pink-haired people. The resemblance was uncanny. They were so similar they may as well be twins! They even dressed alike! “Yo Dalton! You never told me you had a sister!” Wait did she just introduce herself? Maybe they weren't siblings... [break][break] Dalton sighed and began typing a message for Noel on his system menu. “Oh uh... He wants to know who you're looking for. I'm Noel by the way.” He slung his bat over his shoulder with one arm and reached out to shake her hand with the other. The sound of Dalton's scream and yelp had caused Vanilla to jump back and yelping in return. The two little players just scared by one another, certainly not helping the allegations about the two of them being related. The pink haired brit clutched her chest while trying to calm herself, not helped by how Dalton flashed his camera at her and blinded her for half a minute. "Ah! Fuck!" She cursed loudly, rubbing her eyes behind the thick rimmed spectacles. "What the hell was that for? I'm not an enemy!"Just when eyesight was coming back, Vanilla could see another man hurrying over to the two of them. Beside one another, she couldn't really fight the comment of the two of them being related. If another world or universe, it was possible that he was a long lost sibling that she wasn't aware of until just now. All he needed was an unfortunate name based after a dessert and Dalton would be a perfect fit. Vanilla flashed a look to the other boy before then going back to the taller, red haired man following behind Dalton. "Noel, Dalton, nice to meet you both. Just try and not flash me again, please?"She fussed to herself, pushed the glasses back up the bridge of her nose and then shook Noel's hand. "I'm looking for somebody important to me. She's a woman, tall, short black hair. Here's a photo." Vanilla scrolled on her phone for a bit and then pulled up the picture in question. "Her name's Caitlyn. Dalton felt bad for the poor woman after he temporarily blinded her. Her cursing was a bit much but understandable. He likely would have done the same if he was in her situation. While peeking his head out from behind Noel, he stammered out a response before ducking back behind his protector. “S-sorry...”Noel gave a heart chuckle as he shook Vanilla's hand. “Hey now! I only do that sort of thing to my Summoner!” After the somewhat lewd remark he winked at the short woman. At the same time, the hand wrapped around hers became a few degrees warmer. The hothead's intention was clear, prompting a jab in the side from the short man behind him. He loved making his Summoner jealous. Dalton on the other hand was thoroughly embarrassed by his antics. Especially so after Vanilla asked the pair if they'd seen someone important to her. Presumably her girlfriend from the way she spoke about her. After carefully inspecting the picture Noel responded. “Nah, haven't seen her. We're about to go look around here for some coffee if you want to join us though!” His summoner nodded along as he invited the woman along with them. She didn't seem like a threat and the more eyes looking for coffee the better. vanilla |
