The wind touches the small patch of grasslands that Vanilla had found herself whisked to on behest of a paper on the help wanted section of the virtual bulletin board. While she hadn't exactly been one of the best people to go about defeating monsters by herself, she was positive that her skills in herbology and picking plants faired better than killing. The small crafter walked along the trodden path to the area where the poster had posted where she would be able to find him. Certainly there wasn't exactly a lot that she could expect from a random stranger, even mores o with this game afoot. For all she knew, this could be some kind of trap. A way to lure innocent, low level players into close proximity with a higher level person and then kidnap them or worse! Gah, but she also needed to take this job for the money anyway. Oh, what a cruel world!
Her feet took her across the way as she hiked up the mountains only to find a silhouette on top of some of the rock formations around the feet of the forest. Vanilla stopped to look from afar. She debated just turning around and maybe saying that she got caught up in something else and couldn't attend. But then what if this guy was the vindictive type that was going to hunt her down and kill her? She couldn't leave now, not while he was waiting here for her! Vanilla let out a conflicted exhale before making her down from the rocky hill towards the man. As she traveled closer, she could make out bits and pieces of him across the span of seconds. His clothing, the hair, even his posture. Once she was close enough, Vanilla continued on until she was stopped or until she was a few feet from the man. Whichever would come first.
"Are you the one who asked for help with that herb collecting job?" Vanilla asked sheepishly, though still forcing herself to be up front and polite with the blonde man in front of her. She brought up her phone to check the thread again before she'd look up at him after adjusting her spectacles. Should the man look at the woman, he'd find a runt of a woman whose height barely touched the five foot mark. She looked more ready to attend school than she did to go and pick herbs out of the ground, but hey! Vanilla was here and had two hands. So that put her above the list of most other people. "I'm Vanilla. It's, uh, nice to meet you."

Ah, Paris. The city of love, romanticism and a sense of superiority over the over countries of Europe. Yet as Vanilla walked through the streets of the once grand capital, she couldn't help but feel a tad homesick. Her home in Britain hadn't exactly been the best socio or economic wise. Her roommates and her were almost always struggling in some way, shape or form. But there was a sense of how such little things she had grown to miss dearly ever since falling into this world. She sat with one arm inside of her cardigan the other held her phone. Her large glasses halfway down her face with both pupils staring at her status screen. It was hardly a productive use of her time, even as much as Vanilla so wanted the group DM to open up again. What the woman would have given to see a new message in the group chat, to see their names pop up again and ask where she was, if they wanted to hang and to just eat pizza do do normal stuff for a change. '...Merry Christmas, guys.'But Vanilla knew better than to believe in such a hope. A sniffle came from her nose. She wiped the tears on her sleeve for however many times she had done so and sat the phone down before just leaning back and debating on what to do. The brisk walk she had been out on had turned out to be somewhat troubled. The reminder of her situation had allowed a sense of lethargy to overtake her small form as the streets were as quiet as ever. Since the portal had opened, she willingly came to see Paris for the first time, and almost debated staying as crazy as it sounded. But Vanilla couldn't bring herself to do so out of some strange emotion she couldn't decipher. It was like exhaustion mixed with doubt and around six other motions. A hand hovered over her right arm as it clenched around the wrist out of habit. Vanilla cursed quietly to herself at being unable to shake this feeling from her head. It was why she kept herself busy or thinking of something. To push this dreadful thing away. 'No use in just sitting here. I should just find something to do.' She exhaled, picking herself up from the bench. Two feet touched the ground once more as their own gave way to their tour across Paris. It was somewhat hard to really shake this feeling in this empty town. While not entirely devoid of a populace, it no doubt was a shadow of its former beauty before Earth-chan had helped turn this place into yet another strange zone. It was only by her luck that she wasn't being chased by another kind of monster again. Vanilla didn't exactly trust the game to keep its rules consistent if things got boring, and for all she knew, this was just one big session of some entity having fun before getting bored with its game and throwing it away. She continued across the way, lost in her own thoughts while looking up at a path that had been overlooked by the resting stone gargoyles that were above. 'Good thing you guys don't seem to live human meat too much.' So meticulously carved, and terrifying to look at even from down below. Vanilla walked about with her head in the clouds, eyes glued to their distinct snouts and inhuman features. It reminded her of those creepy Halloween cookies that were all the rage when she was younger. At the spookiest time of year, everything in her family's café would be as terrifying as their tax record. Little bat cookies with devilish tails and that scent of pumpkin greeting you as you opened the door. Her mind lingered on thoughts from a time before she had came to Paris for the time being. With Vanilla distracted enough, she'd continue walking with her mind focusing on more delicious scents and smells until her journey came to a complete stop as she hit something and bounced onto the ground below her. Her frazzled hands moved to push up her oversized glasses at whatever she had managed to run into despite this entire place being mostly absent of people. "Sorry." she said, looking up to spot a man standing before her. His hair was a bit wild, the color reminding her of those day old caramel candies in the window from the richness of the brown color. A man that looked far from what one would have seen back before they had all ended up in this cruel game of sorts. But not too much thought went into him as the next thing her eyes picked up was the fifteen foot snake slithering behind him. She yelped in surprise and crawled backward, a look of fear present on her face while shaking to herself. "Ah-I didn't mean to run into you. I was just thinking about something."Ollie

10:15. The café had been closed for an hour already, but a short woman had just locked the doors and began on her way home just in time for the Christmas Season. They had closed for the next two days, and it was a welcome respite considering the holiday rush the café had gotten from the folks with a lonesome holiday to look forward to.
Vanilla was out walking across the rain laden streets of the city, her work "uniform" tucked neatly in a bag over her shoulder. It was a tad bit humiliating to be stuck wearing maid attire all day for work, but she had vowed never to really set foot out of this place inside of it. Despite being the assistant manager for the better part of two years, when push came to shove and somebody needed time off or couldn't come into work that day, it lead to her wearing this thing. Vanilla wasn't exactly the kind of woman that blended in with the crowd, so having something that made her stand out even more seemed like a great way to get some unwanted attention. She looked down at her phone to see her roommates' group chat popping off. A flick of the thumb was all it took to see a picture of Thomas' cat with its head shoved all the way into his cup of water. A smirk flowed over her face before she'd reply in kind, her shoes going down the slick streets.
vkingsley: "Sorry being running late. I messed up yesterday's till count. I'm on my way home." tomass: "finally. u missed out on the pizza, V." ness1e: "I saved you some slices of urs that Barry thought he could swipe. ; ) " b4gold443: "she knows that my weakness is Supreme! Besides, Nila usually gets the Hawaiian." tomass: "how do u even eat that stuff on pizza?"
She rounded a corner with phone in hand, walking down the subway stairs and going to reply to it in full. Vanilla did have to hold herself back though, as the last time she had answered a question related to food, the entire chat room was filled to the brim with a dissertation about the stigma against pineapples in today's society. So she'd keep it brief. Her nails tapped against the screen protector as her short legs moved at a mile a minute to go and catch the subway on time.
vkingsley: "I told you that last time, pineapple pairs well with savory dishes or foods. So when put on pizza, the salinity of the tomato paste or the spiciness of the other toppings will only cause it to be better than it is by yourself." b4gold443: "pls don't get her started again, thomas..." tomass: "i know. rhetorical question. we r waiting on you 2 get home. its Christmas movie night, and nessie chose last night." ness1e: "So ur up. cya when u get here!"
It was still so hard to imagine such a welcome from her family's house, a place that she could look forward to going home to instead of finding ways to stay after. Vanilla had often taken overnight shifts and work to avoid such a fate, having developed a sense of dread that arrived whenever she would step foot into that house. It was a bit of an ironic fate that she had. The very place where her dreams had been created had now become a prison that exhumed such negative feelings the moment her feet took a step near. But ever since she had moved into with Vanessa, or Nessie as she had wanted to be called, Thomas and Barry had been a bit much to grow used to as roommates. With one being a bit of a messy gamer and the other finding pleasure in his cat making a mess of things than it was to clean up. But at times, they were one big dysfunctional family, but in the good sense. Another stray ping took her mind off of things and-
Oh.
ness1e: "u should come home really fast before I get out of this~ xo"
Vanessa had taken a selfie with one of her many ugly christmas sweaters, but this one was the one she knew Vanilla enjoyed for more than one reason. It was...er, it was one of the sweaters that certainly wasn't suitable for being worn inside of the café. That was about as much as her mind could really piece together. But the little otaku did recognize it from some of the serial chapters of shojo that they had been binge reading together. How dare she tease her like this! Vanilla furrowed her brows in defiance, though silently would find herself going back to the picture in question. Her cheeks glowed a bright red color as the light pierced the empty, dimly lit subway hall as she stood and waited for the train. Another pip rang out as Vanilla raised the phone to her face again. Another text message? But this time, it wasn't from the group chat. It was by somebody outside of her contact list. An Earth-chan? A finger moved to swipe the phone and unlock it, opening the message.
"Huh?" Vanilla was confused. Was this some kind of prank or something? A way of bugging her that one of her gacha games (that she really should have quit long ago) had been left untouched for far too long? Such a strange text. She sighed and moved to deleted the text from her phone, but it slipped from her hands. The woman let out a shocked exhale while the phone began its descent into the cold and waterlogged ground of the train tracks. "Augh! My ph-Whoooa!" Her foot was slipped on the edge of the platform and become airborne. This had her on the collision course with the train tracks with her phone. Out of instinct, her hands outstretched to grab the phone, fingers clasping the sides as her thumb moves across the way as she brought it towards her chest. Her eyes widened in horror at the incoming train track in horror. Her arms raised themselves to shield her face and wait the impact from the hard, buzzing touch of the track.
But when she did hit the ground, it felt softer...wet. Vanilla tumbled down and down, rolling across the way with her bag following after her. Her world went around in circles, going down and down and down until after a few seconds, she'd finally stop as she lay on the ground underneath her, Her face viewed the stormy sky as her eyes twirled about while trying to gain a footing on the tumble. That was one hell of a fall, but she wasn't dead! So maybe the train hadn't come and she could crawl back up to the platform before anybody would-
Wait a minute, the sky?!
Her eyes widened as the realization hit her in the face. "TH-This isn't the train station!" Vanilla pushed herself up on her feet while looking around the landscape. It was a grasslands, sort of. What looked like a pretty nice place for a village was actually the remnants of one. "Where am I?..." Builds lie in ruins, holes blown into the sides and overgrowth creeping along what remained. The grass was yellowed and carried the wind across it as she stood in the middle of it all, between the ruins of what appeared to be a larger, two story building. The roof was exposed and its innards had been revealed to all for quite some time now. These buildings continued every so often as the woman would look down back down at her phone to see another message from Earth-chan.
"Unlocked what?" Vanilla asked her phone, shaking it as if it could have possibly given her answers. "Will you just tell me what's going on?! Stupid phone..." There was no response besides another message in blue appearing before her. She looked up at it in confusion
Vanilla cursed to herself, looking around for any of the supposed beasts, but nobody appeared to be present. Maybe it was just some kind of mistake? Still, the idea of ending up as something's snack didn't sit well with her, so she'd just have to make due for now. She'd just have to stick this out and somehow find that portal when it was time. The girl quickly hurried towards the broken interior of the buildings and slowly got her bearings together. "This can't be happening, r-right? I'm not dead, just knocked out on the train tracks. Or...something."

When I was still a child, I had just gotten done with lunch when a big order came into my parents' café. It was for a party of some kind, but wanted all sorts of things. Cookies, toffee, cake, the works. My father had been busy working on preparing dough for some of the pastries that we made during the summer season when he saw me watching with interest. I was so amazed at what they were doing, and how what I ate so much of was taken for granted. Instead of shooing me off like he always did when we were busy, my father invited me to help. For the first time, I helped my family in the kitchen take care of our livelihood. I cracked eggs in a bowl, I helped to place the cutting marks on our toffee and caramel bars, even held the crème filling for the scones and the like. It was amazing feeling, playing a part in something that was to be enjoyed by people.
[break][break]
When everything was done, I peeked my head out from the kitchen window at the employees sent to collect their order. They took a small bite from some of the samples we had included that were left over from filling the delivery boxes. Seeing their eyes light up at the things we made, the things that I helped make. It was a feeling beyond words that I can't really explain. In that moment of seeing their smiles and joyous praise of our work, I knew that I wanted to create things. Even if it wasn't edible, I wanted to make things that made people happy.

ENCHANTER
The beauty is in the details.
STAT BONUS +1 WIL, +VIT , +MAGI, -1 SPD[break][break]
PASSIVE: Quality Control Allows the user to control what they gain from a mystery box and/or chest when they would acquire one. They can determine if they gain armor, weapon, or item when possible. The class can even be more specific and choose a specific weapon type or fashion. However the class is incapable of determining the effect. [break][break] [break]
core [break] A class focused on creating and making the world around them better. The Enchanter has the ability to turn the mundane into something magical, empowering them and their allies. They consume the bad to change it into good. The Enchanter can add the [Charmed] tag to a weapon, item, or armor for 100 points. The [Charmed] tag allows the object to receive its own Anchor typing from all available types (besides Fragment), allowing for synergistic effects. It also gives the object a slight mystical shimmer. [break][break]
Items with an Anchor type that matches their user's Anchor will have the item's cooldowns lowered by one and duration raised by one, when applicable. Armor and other protective items will have +1 rank when defending against the Anchor typing it is strong against, while weapons and other damaging equipment will similarly do +1 rank damage when attacking against the Anchor type weak to it. [break][break][break]
For an extra 100 points, [Charmed] items may be further upgraded and choose from an additional tag: [break][break]
[Sanctified] items are blessed to protect and defend their users. Three times per thread, if the item's Anchor typing matches your own, you may substitute a stat of your choice when calculating your defense against one instance of incoming damage you defend against with it. This may only occur once within a single post. Additionally, once per thread you may choose to instantly end the effects of any single debuff that has been placed on you for a specific number of posts. [break][break]
[Hexed] items are filled with maleveolent, cursed energy meant to debilitate ther targets. Three times per thread, if the item's Anchor typing matches your own, you may add [piercing] to one instance of damage it applies, bypassing 25% of the target's DEF to strike VIT. This may only occur once within a single post. Additionally, once per thread you may choose to double the duration of any single debuff or continuing damage effect on a target. [break][break]
[Spellbound] items are overflowing with mystical power, allowing you to reduce the cooldown of its abilities and effects by one more turn in addition to the [Charmed] bonus, if the item's Anchor typing matches your own. This cannot reduce cooldowns below one turn. This ability can only be used three times per thread, and may only be used once within a single post. Additionally, once per thread you may choose to double the duration of any single buff currently affecting you. [break][break][break]
When [Charmed] items are Forged or Enchanted, the tag and Anchor type is transferred to the resulting item. If they were further upgraded with one of the three additional tags, that tag disappears, but the resulting item is guaranteed to be empowered in a similar manner. Forged or Enchanted items may be [Charmed], but not further upgraded.
[break][break] [break]
Armament: The user picks a weapon to use this ability on. When the weapon is chosen it will gain a soft glow to it the color of the weapon. The glow makes it feel like the weapon is alive and singing. While this ability is active, damage from that weapon is increased by one rank. This ability will only work on one weapon at a time. It lasts four four posts with a four post cooldown. [break] Upgrades at A rank [WIL][break][break]
Swiftcast Amplification: Sometimes a situation demands a shake-up and you don't have time to do proper enchanting, luckily you've picked up a quick and dirty way of helping out. When you use this ability, you may choose an item you or an ally is holding and immediately apply either [Sanctified], [Hexed] or [Spellbound] to it for the next three posts as you throw on a rapidly made but unstable enchantment. If it already has one of these tags you may change it to another for the duration. An item can only be targeted by this once per thread and once the duration ends this goes on a 4 round cooldown. Additionally, once per month, you may choose an item you have used this ability on this month and reduce the cost of permanently applying the chosen tag by 50 points.[break]

"90% of Gamblers Quit Before They Win Big"
[Gachapon] [Melody] [Prizes, Lottery, Business] [break][break] In her travels, Vanilla came across a curious sight in Tokyo. Strange little capsule machines that dispensed randomized prizes on each play. They littered stores, and even some buildings were comprised entirely of just these things! Brushing around on her Japanese, Vanilla discovered that these little machines were called gashapon machines. They had been extremely popular among a certain group of people, ones that no doubt were participating in the game. Devoid of their former glory among its playerbase, it reminded her of the mystery boxes that littered Earth-chan's game, and thus an idea was born. What could be better than a randomized chance at an item, weapon or skill that could be of use to a person? What about another randomized chance at getting an item, weapon or skill that could be of use to a person? Except these would be much more colorful. [break][break] [break]

Demon Wheel Shuriken [Forged] A large four-bladed weapon with curved blades and a wheel in the middle for holding. These layered blades are stacked atop one another and can be opened in a cross-like shape. The edges of these blades are exceptionally sharp so much so they can cut through nearly anything. Once per post you can attack at your SPD, using this item for a melee attack or as a thrown ranged weapon with its range being equal to your SPD /10 in meters. This deals damage equal to your PWR. Every three posts you can cause this weapon to release a 20-meter AoE that unleashes a flurry of blades made out of pure force. Life had been pretty hard for Vanilla (yes, that's her actual name). She was the youngest child out of seven to an eccentric yet affable baker and his wife that had been working to make a name for themselves in the city. Like the rest of her siblings that had a knack for the culinary arts, she became an expert in the kitchen from a young age although remained the weakest of her siblings. She could bake from the finest materials, order the fresh ingredients and follow whatever her heart desired and it always never came out how she wanted. This became a very sensitive topic as she's desired to run a café or eatery on her own when she was younger. Some time passed until middle school, where she developed interests other than her family's specialty. She practiced occasionally on the side to learn and acquire a more robust knowledge, though forever appeared to be lagging behind her brothers and sisters. What few friends the girl had during her school life had guided her into the realm of the typical otaku lifestyle that she quickly fell into. [break][break]
She stayed at other friends' houses gossiping, watching the latest episodes or gaming the night away. It was a wonderful distraction that was met with a bit of disappointment and sometimes mockery from people, even her sisters! But Vanilla never did give up her hobby, finding it a welcome respite for her issues. When in high school, other girls blossomed into fine young women and reached the appropriate height. Vanilla, however, reached at the five foot mark and just...stopped. She's experienced her fair share of comments about her height, and it's only great way for her to immediately go berserk. Height issues aside, she led a fairly lonesome life away from her family, becoming well known as the recluse of the family. After graduating from high school and opting to save enough money for college, she helped her father co-run the business and handle the financial aspects of the business. The hours were long and harsh, but it would be good experience when she opened up her own place, wouldn't it? [break][break]
FLOURISH
Vanilla's self doubt and burnout from helping to run the family café had made its mark and overwhelmed her. She began to develop periods of total exhaustion as her deteriorating comfort was making itself known through her short temper and outbursts. These brought a great deal of shame to her and only encouraged her to withdraw more from baking and her family. A fortunate chance meeting with an eventual friend during a grocery trip had provided some solace in her life. The woman, named Vanessa had invited her to move into her apartment with their friends. While opposed to the idea at first, Jamie eventually accepted the offer and would quit running the business in the mean time to take a mental break. Unlike her home, where she'd have to hide her hobbies and things she enjoyed, her three new roommates wouldn't berate her for them, even Jamie watched anime with her on weekends. Not a lot of jobs were hiring in the central district, but Jamie did manage to get Vanilla into a position at her work in the city. She went in on her first day only to learn that it was a thematic café, that being a maid café. [break][break]
CONTENT
It was an odd feeling that overcame Vanilla. She viewed the barista job as a hectic test of patience, but enjoyed the people in her life for a change. The work was running around and full of some of the worst types of people, but Jamie and her coworkers made it so bearable. Even with being on the edge of having little to no spending money on some weeks, Vanilla found herself happy in her current place in the world. The girl was slowly moving up in the shop and reached an assistant manager position at the café. The increase in pay had brought with it that hope of going to college for business and improving her living conditions. While not the most glorious life, Vanilla loved the small group she had found herself with. Some days were harder than others, but she loved them all. She started going to college near her twenty-fourth birthday and performed well in mathematics, tending to spend her free time doing homework or playing the latest RPG on her phone.
