"Oh," Hikari responded, eyes smiling at the egg as she turned it this way and that. She doted on the thing, keeping it with her safe and sound. "I would want to hatch this egg on my own. After all, this is my responsibility." Hikari caressed the egg, "And yes, this did come from that shop. However, I believe this was a one-of-a-kind. The only one available for purchase." She had been told that there were other eggs there, but she had decided to go for the one-of. "I was told it would be harder to hatch this one, but I will do my best. And I am certain the effort will be worth it."

Perhaps it will, perhaps it wouldn't. In the end, she would cherish whatever hatches from this egg. After all, she would be its caretaker and partner. She would have it no other way.

"Having a partner would be very interesting for me, especially since my class works best when fighting a single opponent. My partner can hopefully either supplement my fighting style, or support it." She was already envisioning her future summon partner, though she was sure whatever she was thinking was unlikely what would hatch in this case. Dreams were never reality, after all. "Just like you and your summons." She nodded towards Dee Dee and smiled. "I would love for you to help me out once it hatches, however. I haven't been fully introduced to this Mr. Beast, but I trust you." She gave the woman a wink.

Hikari found herself listening intently to the elf's explanation. But of course, if portals like these were occurring, not every single person coming in here would have good intentions. The inherent good in humanity was sometimes, or more often than not, eclipsed by their more heinous sins. So, no, Hikari was not surprised that the elves were on high alert for strangers.

"Oh!" Hikari exclaimed when the elves, younger ones it seems, pulled her aside to play. She made sure to stay within earshot, making sure to still listen in on the conversation happening. "I'd love to play with you! Although we're in a bit of a hurry." She smiled, although started playing with the younger elves.

The elves were, as expected, a very nature-conscious folk. From what Hikari could see, they were good with their hands and were very conscious of their environment. They can create simple musical instruments from just a single leaf and a piece of branch, and could somehow communicate with small animals, although Hikari herself could not discern how they did it. All the while, she listened to Enigma's conversation with the other elf.

She started back towards Enigma, leaving puppy-eyed elves who were just about to show Hikari how to create her own musical instrument with fresh leaves. "I suppose it is time for us to get going. Don't worry, if we get time, I'll make sure to visit you once again in this small alcove." She smiled warmly at those she had spent time with, and nodded graciously to the rest. "Perhaps it's time for us to meet our challenge." It was more statement than question, waiting for Dee Dee to lead the way with her skill.

Hikari knew what Dee Dee was talking about, although it was put in the words and intentions of Dee Dee. At the root of it all, however, they both wanted the same. They wanted a peaceful world, a world where one can thrive. This was even more so for Hikari, who valued freedom, but at the same time, also valued care and connection. She might seem tough, but she also needed her tender love and care, more so from herself than from anybody else.

"I see! You have a slime, you say?" This intrigued Hikari, who nodded along with her every word. "Creatures, mythical, and those of the mystical kind, they intrigue me the most." Perhaps it was the stories she ready from Japanese folklore. "I am not as in-tune with nature and those natural around us, but I do have this."

Opening up her inventory, Hikari pulled out what looked to be a golden egg. She held it up for Dee Dee to see, still possessive of her possession, but certainly more comfortable with Dee Dee. Besides, without the system trade, one cannot steal the item itself. "I got this from a stranger, and I hope it hatches into a companion for myself." Hikari smiled at the egg, gingerly petting it as though it were made of solid gold.

Hikari followed in the footsteps of his companions. After all, she had reason to stay behind. She was just as curious about these people as the rest of her group was. In fact, she was glad that she was encountering a different species this time. Her encounter with the Demons was not one she would like to repeat. Or perhaps she would, though in better circumstances at least.

Dee Dee's item was certainly very useful, although it would prove less useful if one of their objectives was to observe these elves. Getting to the Guardian might just be easier if they have the elves help them. They might just know where this Guardian is, and perhaps even can lead them on a path that is much safer. Even more so, they just might be able to provide them aid!

Getting to the elves was easy, talking to them, now that was another challenge. It was only well and good that Enigma had the vials which he had handed out, giving her the ability to communicate with them.

"I feel honoured that you would think that I am one of you." She would bow towards them, a soft smile on her face as she continued. "I assure you, we mean no harm. In fact..." Hikari waved her hand, and her sword immediately fell back, pointed themselves down and away from the elves. "We would love to learn more about you, although we are also here to seek the guidance nd wisdom of the Guardian." She paused, looking expectantly at the elves as she awaited their response.

Mission 1 - Arrive on Ender Island

Hikari turned her attention towards the last of her quarry. She trusted Akane to handle the last of the creatures while she toyed with this one. Yes, toy. Hikari knew that these creatures were certainly below her caliber when it comes to combat. Especially when it was one-on-one. These creatures seemed to thrive in overwhelming numbers, and yet they were whittled down easily enough. It was good that Hikari was also good at cutting numbers down one at a time.

Just being close to her, and her ever growing [Terror Field], the creature would be hit with a wave of nightmarish thoughts. Hikari would smile as she saw the creature grunt, already feeling the slow-acting effects of her aura. It roared, and came for her.

Dodging was easy enough, although Hikari didn't want to dodge at all. Instead, she held Shotsuren, and then threw it forward. The sword struck true, making the creature stumble forward. Immediately, Daitsuren followed in its wake, stabbing the creature once more, bringing it down to its knees.

Hikari sauntered forward, eyes shining brightly, as Kenmyoren unsheathed itself. The largest of her swords glinted in the sunshine, before it too flew forward, nailing the creature straight through its neck, severing its head form its body. Watching the creature fall forward, dead, Hikari turned her attention to her companions and waved, "Just Miss Hikari should be fine." She finally answered, before nodding. "Don't mind Miss Akane." She chuckled, "Though, it seems like we're just about done with this." Hikari gestured around, before looking towards the island. She was sure there were more challenges coming after them beyond this.

Hikari turned to Dee Dee, still nibbling on the tomato that was given to her. The skill was interesting, though there were some things she was curious about. "Are you able to set a location without knowing where your target is? I am supposing that you don't know the layout of this place, and therefore would not truly know where the guardian is. If that is so, then the skill is certainly one to keep in handy." She mused.

"That drone is also quite brilliant." Hikari nodded, watching as the man turned what he was holding to them, revealing the elf that he had been talking about. She watched the elf speak to the animal, as though he knew what the bird was saying, and the bird knew what he was saying. How curious!

She thought about it a moment. Perhaps approaching was a good idea, but then again, they might scare the elf away. Mayhaps, they might even attract the unwanted attention of the elves who live here, and be driven away before they could complete their mission.

"I feel that we should first observe, before approaching." She watched the elf with fascination. "Perhaps we can gain more information this way, before risking any contact." Perhaps they could even follow the elf, and maybe they could learn how to best show that they were friendly. "What do you both think?" Hikari was happy to let the both of them take the lead. She would learn more this way.

Hikari found herself endeared to the town. It had an easy atmosphere, one that Hikari appreciated, especially in a world such as this. It wasn't easy to lay back and relax when there was always a constant threat of danger. She, herself, had a hard time trying to find peace during these unrestful times.

As she stepped through the doors of the inn, she found herself wondering just how these people could live such idyllic lives. But then again, perhaps she was getting ahead of herself. Perhaps these people were just as hard-pressed as the rest of the world. They were just able to rest easier, especially with the influx of people in this zone.

"I will take a room as well, madame." She bowed towards the woman, before giving her order. "This is the kind of place I want to protect, Dee Dee." Hikari started when they were finally left alone. "This place, this town, this is the kind of peace that most yearn for. I am willing to do what I can to help preserve such peace, whenever I can." She wouldn't go out of her way, nor would she sacrifice herself, of course. However, at the root of it all, this was what she was fighting for, a piece of peace for herself.

She smiled towards him, "I got just a bit busy, and was not aware that you had an opening event." Perhaps she should be more active in using the various messaging and posting systems that are available to her now. "I'll be sure to visit the next time I am in New York." She acquiesced.

Speaking of, what Enigma had talked of was something she had already experienced, though she wasn't sure if what she and Akane had experienced would be the same as what they would be experiencing. She would keep quiet for now, truly curious as to how this whole mission would go, especially with their investigation. Will they see demons once more? Or mayhaps it was a different sort of species this time?

Hikari followed through, having nodded to both Dee Dee and Engima. They both had skillsets that were useful in this case. Her? She knew she did best during combat, though she was sure both Enigma and Dee Dee could more than match her, if not more powerful. This was a good chance to measure her own powers, and perhaps learn from others as well, especially from Enigma.

"I'm feeling alright." She started, before looking around at their surroundings. "That is a very useful item, Mister Enigma." Distracted by the flying bot. "You say you can make a map using that?" Now that was certainly a very useful item. Perhaps someday she might be able to amass a collection of more supplementary items herself. "What was the skill that you had, Dee Dee?" She turned to the woman, taking a small bite of the tomato handed to her.

Hikari held her new sword aloft, but before she could connect, she found herself needing to dodge. She quickly engaged one of her skills, [Kamigatamai], immediately having herself dodge to the side as whatever this creature seemed to be trying to wrap itself around her. As though it was trying to restrain her. No, she wouldn't have that.

Using the momentum of her dodge, she quickly thrust her sword, Murakumo, through the creature that had just tried to attach itself to her, dealing damage. And yet, just as she thought she was done, her second sword, Daitsuren, unsheathed itself. It seems that her attacking twice had registered with her own core.

She didn't waste time, just as she safely landed away from the creature, Daitsuren was already shearing its way to her target. Hikari didn't stop there, however. Clenching her hand, she cleansed the two stacks of [Delirium] on the creature, dealing even more damage as nightmarish claws would grasp the creature, slashing and tearing at it.

Hikari took a few quick backsteps, surveying the result of her engagement, all the while her [Terror Field] having grown in its radius.

"These are certainly...interesting creatures. I am sure that one of them tried to restrain me with its body." She stared at the one she had been focusing on, eyes glinting as she planned her next assault.

A friend, indeed. Hikari lowered her sword, and those that floated around her were quickly lowered as well, responding to their master's mental bidding. She had long since left her fan behind, although she had found herself wanting another fan. Perhaps once that was far stronger than her current one. She missed the fan which she had donated to the Paris event, though she would not dwell on the past. It was a conscious decision after all.

Hikari turned her attention towards the road ahead. She checked her items, making sure that everything was still in order, before taking her next few steps. She was enticed by the prospect of what this new mission could bring. After all, this zone was mostly new to her. And the fact that there was an event going on made this even more interesting. The Paris event had been quite well done, and she knew that the rewards for this event might just be the same.

Murakumo materialized in front of her, and she deftly took hold of its body. Its sheathe had not changed at all. The sleekness of its exterior made for quite the sight, though its most eye-catching feature was its ornate pommel. She cherished her weapon, with it having been a part of her repertoire for a bit now. Even then, her three swords, Shotsuren, Daitsuren, and Kenmyoren, were all still floating behind her. They were her constant companions.

Slowly drawing closer to where she had been prompted to go, Hikari found herself smiling and bowing to the man waiting by a gate of sorts. "Mister Enigma. I hope everything has been well on your end?" She paused, before continuing, "We are in your and Dee Dee's care today." Dee Dee was set to arrive too, she knew. With both Enigma and Dee Dee, Hikari was sure that they would be just fine.

Dee Dee had been mentioning this place a whole lot during the last time they had spoken to one another. She had mentioned something about coming to this store and purchasing items that would make her stronger. She was not sure how that went, but to be honest, she was curious. There was also the fact that she wanted to prepare herself for the eventual combat she would have to deal with.

Opening the door, she found herself staring at what looked to be a bookstore. But much more than that, it was also a store by the little girl who was the guild leader for E2C. At least, that was what she got from just looking in. Well, that, and the presence of the E2C leader/s within the store itself.

As they walked ever closer to the town, Hikari noticed just how beautiful the emanating lights were when contrasted with the background. Even though this zone was considered to be more dangerous, having a town like this, protected by properly trained guards, and perhaps the system itself, was so very important. The fact that this town can boom into this size meant that it was significant in its own way. Perhaps it was one of the centre hubs for this region, though she cannot be sure.

Speaking of, "You are a good friend, Dee Dee." She nodded to Dee Dee at her words, before keeping in stride with the woman. "But trust me when I say that I will never willingly put myself in harm's way." After all, she valued her life even more nowadays. "This recon will be done with utmost discretion." Hikari smiled at Dee Dee, a plan already forming in her mind as to how she might go about this. Perhaps it was time to find the connections from her old life, leverage those connections, and turn them into information. She was sure she still had some friends in Seoul. She had gotten messages from them since arriving in this new world of theirs, after all.

"Perhaps we should sample the local delicacies?" She mused as she started to smell what appeared to be some kind of broth being cooked up. The aroma was very enticing indeed. "I'm sure we can learn more about this place if we enjoy the company in amongst the locals." She had missions to do here, and learning more about the place was certainly something she should be doing.
