Mission 1 - Arrive on Ender Island

This task was simple, at least, that was how it felt. The message and notification she received from Earth-Chan had been enticing enough. It seems this place had appeared more than a few months ago, though people were still flocking to it. Apparently, there were some interesting things happening within, and there were whispers that the rewards are worth the risks. That was always less of a deterrent for Hikari. The risks were always worth the reward, after all. And if it didn't? She made sure it did.

She looked towards the people on board the boat that had been chartered for this voyage. It looks as if she was seeing at least one familiar face in this group. Hikari waved towards Akane, before looking towards the new person. First impressions? She would not be here if she wasn't sure of her competence, right? At least, that was what Hikari believed. Nonetheless, she had Akane here, which would certainly make this easier, if the stories were true.

The horizon was dim, but she could make out their destination as a shadow within the shadow. But before they could even reach those shores, they must first fight against what some say are monstrosities. Hikari smiled to herself. Perhaps this would be the best time to test out her new subclass? It was almost delightful indeed!

It was strange Akane was used to doing missions at this point. However, this one seemed different as the system normally offered her missions in a location she was already in. This time however Earth-chan had given her a mission to head to a place called ender island. The assassin assumed it was a new area that only existed in the new world as she'd never heard of the place before. While she was of course no expert in geography she was pretty sure she'd have heard of a place called ender island before if it had existed in the old world. It seemed like this little expedition offered plenty of fighting so Akane had of course accepted the mission as it meant there would be plenty of things to make bleed.

While on the boat ride to the island Akane would keep to herself for the most part as she normally did. That was until she spotted Hikari waving toward her. The raven-haired women also noticed the blonde-hair women that seemed to be tagging along with them for this mission. However, she knew nothing about the women and could only hope she would be at least somewhat useful to the group. Wasting no time Akane would make her way over to Hikari. "Well if it isn't my favorite princess." The assassin knew the other raven-haired woman didn't call herself a princess but a little teasing couldn't hurt. Akane would then turn her gaze towards the blonde-haired woman. "You'll have to forgive my friend she has a bad habit of not introducing herself right away. You can call her Hikari and I'm Akane."

It was a rather strange sensation. Seeing this other girl reporting on this otherworldly new location that just seemed to spring out of nowhere. Which in and of itself was a rather odd occurrence, but all it did was cause a mass wave of players to start rushing towards it. Hoping to be one of the first to discover some sort of mystery on the island. She had known of plenty of situations like this before. As soon as theres some hope of glory or riches it tends to bring the crowds. And it can also bring out the worst in a mob mentality. But for now, it had seemed like even with this and the months that had passed people were still flocking to the island. [break][break]
So of course, it was only natural that the journalist in her would get inquisitive at someone who happened to have a reporting class, being the first to report on this island. Not only that, but it seemed like it could possibly be a good place to get some experience and help her start catching up to those whom had been on this new earth longer than herself. [break][break]
As another wave would crash against the boat the other two girls that were traveling with her seemed to at least already know each other, making her the odd one out. Though the raven haired one would be quick to introduce the two of them. Alessandra offering a small bow to the duo as she'd say "A pleasure. My name is Alessandra." She'd say as she'd introduce herself back, Let's do our best to explore this island together." She'd say with a smile to the two.[break][break]

Hikari smiled at the woman, before responding, "I am no princess, Miss Akane. You must know that." She looked around, and realized she was truly overdressed for the situation. She smiled, though she made no comment on anything else. Perhaps she needed to check her style once more to be more inconspicuous. But then again, that was not her style.

"It is nice to meet you, Alessandra. We are in your care today." She looked onwards. Perhaps they were about to...Speak of the devil.

"Eyes up, it seems we have our welcome party." She had Shotsuren already unsheathed. Without pause, her sword was already on the move. The sword was already flying through the air, hitting the creature through its chest, flinging it backwards. She looked on, before realizing that this wasn't the only creature aboard.

Ender Island was supposed to be a challenge. She was ready for it.

Akane would give Hikari a soft smile at her comment. "You'll have to forgive me Lady Hikari but I can't help but call you one when you dress the way you do." Akane wasn't sure if the other woman would be able to tell she was still teasing her as the assassin didn't have much experience when it came to doing such. However, worst case the raven-haired assassin would just have to state as much if Hikari got offended. Akane would shake her head at Hikari claiming she was joking. "I'm afraid not after all it did take us meeting twice before you told me you're name."

The golden-eyed woman didn't share her companion's view on being excited about exploring the island. She never really liked heading into the unknown as it left too much that one couldn't plan for. However, as the monsters started to climb aboard the ship a smile would cross her face. "It seems the blood is finally going to start flowing." As Hikari wasted to time getting to work Akane would open her inventory and equip the katana she had recently gotten. "Please don't panic at what I'm about to do Alessandra."

Without another word, Akane would vanish from sight as she started to make her way closer to the monsters. Once in range, she would strike with her skeletal claws tearing the throat out of one of the beasts killing it as she reappeared. She would then waste no time striking another with her sword using her subclass ability as she did so causing the blade to reach all the way to its bone marrow. While the blow wasn't enough to kill the beast it could leave behind a bleed effect which powered up her katana. She would then follow up with another strike with her katana that cleaved the beast in half before vanishing again.

She didn't know of any countries that had royalty, so having been introduced to a princess had initially been a bit of a surprise. One that had been said with such nonchalance that she figured it had to be true. And yet, the lady herself would clarify that she was in fact, no princess. "So not a princess after all?" She'd say, though it seemed like even Akane would clarify what she meant by her statement. And well, even she had to admit that her clothing was rather regal when Akane clarified her point.[break][break]
However, it didn't seem like they'd have much more time for conversation. The wave crashing into the boat being enough to take Alessandra off her feet as she wasn't nearly as prepared for it. Having well, never really been on a ship before would do that to you. However, what followed that she also really didn't like, was the fact that it seemed like the enemy was upon them. Whisps of shadow began to fly around Alessandra as she'd cloak herself. Though she'd allow both of her allies to see her. If not for everyone's own ability just to see each other at least so that they can coordinate movements better. [break][break]
With one of the beasts climbing over the side, it was clearly weaker than the rest. Looking almost too young to be assaulting the boat. However it here was with the rest. And with a small slice she would knick at it's legs. Dealing a small amount of damage to it and having it wondering where it got attacked from. Panicking and looking around as it would try to find it's attacker. Unbeknownst to it what was about to happen to it.[break][break]

Hikari grabbed the returning sword in one hand, and immediately lashed it out once more at the one that she had knocked over. This time, the sword hit its mark, striking clean through the skull of the creature, killing it in an instant. Hikari wasted no time, immediately looking around searching for her next opponent.

One appeared just to her right, and without pause, she flicked her second sword, Daitsuren, forward. Once more, one of her swords sailed through the air and landed through the creature's belly, impaling it. Hikari did not bat an eye, realizing that this one was within her zone, and she now had two stacks of [Delirium] on it.

Clenching her fist, nightmarish claws ripped through the creature's chest, immediately severing it into two distinct pieces of its former self.

She then turned towards Alessandra and responded, "No, not quite." Almost, but not really. "Not a princess at all." She smiled at the woman. "And I suppose you are correct there, miss Akane." She acquiesced, before turning her attention to the last creature trying to climb aboard her side of the ship.

With her two foes dead Akane would take this moment to check in on Hikari and Alessandra to see how they were fairing. In truth, it was more so the blonde-haired woman she wasn't sure about. As the raven-haired assassin knew Hikari was around the same level as her and so shouldn't have had much of an issue. Akane watched as the one Alessandra went for what seemed to be the weakest foe they had to face her attack not even killing it. Which of course meant one of two things either she was on the lower end of levels or she was holding back. It was of course too soon to be certain about.

Her focus would soon shift away from the other women as another monster boarded the ship and it seemed to be the leader of this little raiding party. A smile would form across Akane's face as she headed towards it. The monster being unable to see her instead would start charging at Hikari. However, before it was able to reach her a skeletal arm would tear through its chest as Akane reappeared. As the beast fell to the ground dead the assassin wasted to time heading towards another beast on its way to attack Alessandra. It seemed to be on the weaker side as well and as such Akane was able to easily cut it down with her Katana. That left only the one the blonde-haired woman was fighting and one more that just climbed aboard. "I'll leave the last one for you to take care of Lady Hikari."

Well, her questions were certainly being answered as she had a few free moments to look at the other two. The creature in front of her already being handicapped enough as she'd look at the two that she was paired with. Seeing how the one that she initially was told was a princess was able to easily murder the invaders with single swings of her swords. Would it even be called swings if they were moving with the power of her mind? She wasn't entirely sure but either way, clearly she was the strongest she though, if she was able to answer her questions about being a princess in the middle of the fight.[break][break]
Though that wasn't to say that the other girl was some sort of slouch as she was holding her own as well. And basically just solidifying, at least to Alessandra, that she was going to be the weakest one here. As she would instead drop her cloak of shadows, the wisps around her elongating her claws. And creating a maw of shadows over her own as she'd use both to tear into the creature. Claws of shadow driving through it's chest and her fangs driving into the neck of the creature, finishing it in one blow as she'd drop her guise again and look towards the other two. Not just at them, but at how much more they were able to accomplish in such a smaller amount of time. Making her wonder just how much higher of a level were they than her. "So if not a princess do you perhaps have some sort of other title?" She'd ask to the girl, just to see if there was maybe just a nuance or clarification to her designation. "She seems to be mighty set on at least referring to you as 'Lady'. She'd make sure to add in as it seemed like she would be the one to take care of the final attacker, taking some time to take a small splash of sea water that had washed up and cupping some in her hands, trying to use it to get rid of some of the viscera she found herself slowly getting covered in.[break][break]

Hikari turned her attention towards the last of her quarry. She trusted Akane to handle the last of the creatures while she toyed with this one. Yes, toy. Hikari knew that these creatures were certainly below her caliber when it comes to combat. Especially when it was one-on-one. These creatures seemed to thrive in overwhelming numbers, and yet they were whittled down easily enough. It was good that Hikari was also good at cutting numbers down one at a time.

Just being close to her, and her ever growing [Terror Field], the creature would be hit with a wave of nightmarish thoughts. Hikari would smile as she saw the creature grunt, already feeling the slow-acting effects of her aura. It roared, and came for her.

Dodging was easy enough, although Hikari didn't want to dodge at all. Instead, she held Shotsuren, and then threw it forward. The sword struck true, making the creature stumble forward. Immediately, Daitsuren followed in its wake, stabbing the creature once more, bringing it down to its knees.

Hikari sauntered forward, eyes shining brightly, as Kenmyoren unsheathed itself. The largest of her swords glinted in the sunshine, before it too flew forward, nailing the creature straight through its neck, severing its head form its body. Watching the creature fall forward, dead, Hikari turned her attention to her companions and waved, "Just Miss Hikari should be fine." She finally answered, before nodding. "Don't mind Miss Akane." She chuckled, "Though, it seems like we're just about done with this." Hikari gestured around, before looking towards the island. She was sure there were more challenges coming after them beyond this.

A smile would form across Akane's face as she watched Hikari fight her next foe. The assassin always enjoyed watching the other women fight as there was always plenty of blood spilled when she did. Perhaps underneath her noble-like facade, she enjoyed spilling blood just as much as Akane did. However, the smile wouldn't last long as Alessandra spoke. The raven-haired assassin didn't care that she was asking questions she honestly didn't care about that. What did annoy her was she was doing so while there was still a foe she had to fight. One which wasted no time in trying to attack the weakest link of the group while she was speaking. It however never got the chance as Akane closed the gap in no time before using her skeletal claws to rip off half its head.

"Perhaps you should focus on the battle instead of talking until you get stronger Alessandra. As for why I call her Lady Hikari it's simple in our home land she is from a noble family. So I call her lady as a sign of respect." With the last of the monsters dead Akane would make her way over to Hikari not bothering to wash the blood off her body. "Now the real fun begins. Though I suppose I should get serious if we have to protect a low level while here. I hope you don't mind me borrowing your spine later Lady Hikari. It won't hurt when I do but it'll make a bloody mess."

Hikari turned to Alessandra and smiled. She nodded, "Of course, I trust you well enough, Miss Alessandra." At least, as much as one can when they've just met each other. The woman seemed capable enough, though she was sure that she must be hiding more of her skills. There were those who were more reserved, after all. Although Akane thinks otherwise. Perhaps she was judging the woman just a bit too much.

Looking towards Akane, she shrugged and responded, "I'm unsure what you would do with my spine, but as long as it doesn't hurt, I'm all for it, Miss Akane." The woman certainly had her quirks, and she was sure that Akane was not one to hurt their allies. They had gone on enough missions with the assassin to know that, at the very least.

Looking at the new mission they received, Hikari sighed. Menial tasks, it seems..." She trailed off, before turning her attention to the surrounding area. "Supply run it is then." Hikari looked towards a make-shift fort that had been built hastily, from how it looked. "And I suppose we deliver it there." The woman shrugged, "Shall we head out then? We can do the scouting at the same time as our foraging."

She was not the biggest fan of this specific mission, menial as it was. But she was sure that this place held more far more than just this white sand beach. There was a reason why a makeshift fort was here, and why it seems to be manned by adventurers and other civilians who were geared for a fight.

Akane's golden eyes would narrow as Alessandra made her excuse. "You speak of being a part of the team yet what did you do to help last fight? You didn't even manage to kill one of the monsters. Make yourself useful and perhaps I'll think about counting you as part of the team."

The assassin would then turn around not even waiting for the response of the other women as she turned her focus to more important matters. Akane would let out a small laugh as Hikari stated she was unsure what Akane would do with her spine. "I'll turn it into a weapon I can use. Also, I can't say for certain it won't be painful but it won't do any actual damage to you so it should be fine." Akane would find herself letting out a small sigh as Alessandra spoke as if she was their leader. While the assassin didn't mind following orders if needed said person needed to be equal to her and as far as she was concerned the blonde-haired woman wasn't. However, she'd leave it be for now. After all, if it became an issue Akane could always slit her throat before she most likely even knew what was happening.

The raven-haired assassin would then waste no time picking up one of the supply crates with her skeletal arms before following Hikari towards the outpost. As they got within thirty meters of the place the familiar scent of blood would fill her sense of smell. In large part thanks to her bloodhound skill. She was unable however it see who or what the blood was coming from nor could she tell how fresh it was. "Be ready for a fight I can smell blood and it might have been spilled recently."

Well, one thing seemed alright to Alessandra as well as she'd look at the girl as she'd respond to the comment about the spine. It seemed like she had no idea what the hell was going on either with that. Seemingly showing that neither of them had a clue about what was going on with that.... well rather awkward question. "I feel that.... Isn't.... Yano nevermind." She'd finally just decide that once agani, she'd probably just rather not know whatever was going on in that girl's head as opposed to whatever answer would have been given. She figured it wouldn't kill her so it would probably be fine. [break][break]
Turning to look at Akane though she'd point to one on the deck that she had already taken a bite out of that she had killed and said "One. So that mean's you have to think about it then." She'd say with a smile to the other girl. Even if she didn't wait for the response, she had to get her credit where it was due.[break][break]
However, once the notification window popped up showing that it was going to be a list of menial tasks, mainly that of a supply run, Alessandra got a bit more excited. While it semed like Miss Hikari was already used to and over these kinds of tasks, this is the first of this kind that Alessandra had ever gotten. Not only that, but her light research into what a video game was showed her that these were the kinds of quests that happened all the time. So while the others may not have been as happy she was surely fine with it.[break][break]
She certainly wasn't overly strong, and in fact, was one of the weakest of the group as the other two seemed to be lifting much heavier boxes than she was. Though not like she was going to let that fact stop her as she'd continue walking with the other two. Akane's voice though would suddenly break through, saying that blood had been spilled recently and that they should be ready for a fight. Alessandra not responding to the girl, but still giving her a small nod in affirmation that she was ready to help out if needed. Well, sure it would be needed but with being able to help with whatever was in her power to help with.[break][break]
