"I can get us out of here, just-" She cut off, coughing. One hand still futilely covering her eyes, she used the other to feel around the wall she was using for cover. "Just try to get back inside!" Hana's hand latched onto the windowsill, and she finally forced her eyes open, clicking open the system menu as she turned towards the window.

Unfortunately, with her back exposed, the vulture had the perfect target. Emir heard a shout of pain as Hana was sent flying through the window, slamming into one of the shelves inside, bottles crashing to the floor. Along with all the smashing noises, there was a hint of the vulture's location given away, as dust rippled outward from the spot where it had struck the teen musician.

Groaning, Hana at least managed to start up the escape countdown. That thing was too big to follow her through the window, right? Besides, it'd probably just try to eat Emir now instead, she was totally fine!

Blinded, Hana had stumbled out into the open in one of the nearby aisles. Thankfully that effect seemed to be wearing off, bright spots clearing as the spotlights flickered and weakened. Blinking, glancing about, Hana realized her bad positioning and scurried back into cover, knocking several boxes off the nearest shelf.

Keeping an eye on the monologuing ghost, she poked at the air a few times until she succeeded at opening up that strange system menu again. "Okay, that won't work. And that won't work. And that...won't work." All Hana could see were system warnings that her various abilities would fail if she used them. Simply escaping didn't seem to be an option, either.

"Miss Helen!? I hope it gave you, like, a laser gun or magic wand or something!" Hana poked out of cover long enough to locate her partner for this fight, calling out to her. "I don't think I can do anything to a ghost!" Plucking an item off the shelf, she flung it towards their enemy, although it harmlessly flew past the ghostly musician. Even if she had better aim next time, Hana had a feeling it would just phase right through her.

Hana spotted the monster floating above them just as Emir called out to her. "Bird...big bird!" That was all she could squawk out, pointing towards it, before the Dust Storm washed over them. She followed his instructions, squatting down with one hand against the building they'd just exited, the other uselessly trying to shield her head and eyes. Her glasses were going to be filthy.

"Where'd it go!?" Hana shouted to be heard over the gusts of wind, immediately closing her mouth as her tongue was covered in dirt. Spitting and sputtering, wiping at her mouth before covering it and her nose with her free hand, she had no idea what to do. "Can you see it?"

Emir seemed to be doing his best to disappear as well, while Hana was quite the obvious target for the aerial attacker.

Hana glanced around the shelf as the ghost cried out, reflexively covering her eyes with her free hand. Her glasses were no help, as the intense beam of light surrounded her, blinding the poor musician. She let out another yelp of surprise as something smashed into her hasty cover, sending other items tumbling off the shelves to bounce off her or clatter to the floor around her.

All she could think of to do was to awkwardly backpedal away from the loud noises, half-squatting to try to remain behind cover.
Unfortunately she couldn't actually see where was she was going, eyes tightly shut, one hand still trying to protect them from the blinding light. Hopefully Helen was fairing better, although Hana couldn't even check on her at the moment.

She really should've paid more attention to whatever abilities that annoying popup had said she'd been assigned, but she hadn't really taken the idea seriously until a ghost appeared and started attacking them.

Hana rolled her eyes at his reasoning, thankfully while he was busy browsing the store's selection. She'd already rationalized their current activity to herself during her long walk here. If it was abandoned, then this wasn't really stealing. Anyone that used to live here could've walked all this way themselves, if they wanted to. Well, if they were still around. It wasn't like she was planning to bust into someone's house and steal their photo albums or anything.

"The what? What's a Center and why would I want to rent it? Is that like a console?" Now it was her turn to be confused about something Emir considered common knowledge. "I was hoping for something like Yodobashi Camera, but I don't think they have those here." Bigger than a convenience store but smaller than a department store, that's what she was searching for.

If she was going to take something, it might as well be something expensive. Hana had no experience in this area, but she did recognize the one whiskey brand with a Japanese name. They registered as important enough for the system to accept them, so after depositing a half dozen bottles, she met back up with Emir at the broken window.

Now that they were inside, she could simply nudge a box full of bottles closer to the window and use that as a step to get her foot up onto the windowsill again. Hana hopped through easily enough, all of her scavenged loot safely stored by the system for now. She moved aside to give Emir room, glancing up and down the damaged road as she noticed a few small dust devils forming.

Hana winced at each loud thud against the stubbornly stuck door. She was trying to simply hold still, eyes flickering between the status screen and the stairwell beneath them. Having never used this ability until now, she wasn't sure exactly how it worked. Was moving bad? Or just stuff like running and fighting?

Glancing behind her as she felt wind rushing inside after that final kick, Hana backed up a step before slowly turning. Looking between the roof and the screen, still. Everything seemed fine, no warnings or anything. One step, another, before she followed Nyke out onto the roof.

The two blipped out of existence. Moments later, something exploded through the doorway they'd been waiting inside, scattering debris across the roof, stirring up a massive cloud of dust that obscured their pursuer. The two had never really gotten a good look at what was chasing them, and Hana was honestly fine with that.

Hana caught up as he was digging through the papers strewn across the disheveled office, standing by the door. She glanced back and forth, before turning inside, smiling as he held up the file folder, before wincing at the loud noise. After a moment she opened the system menu to double-check the mission they'd been giving, nodding after comparing the numbers and symbols. "Nice, that should work."

She was happy to turn and head for the stairs again, although she'd only made it a few steps before the sudden noise caused her to temporarily freeze. Hana remembered to breathe, moving again after only a moment, hurrying after. "I...I can get us out, but I can't do anything else or it doesn't work. Like, you know. Running, screaming."

Hana pointed to the stairwell door, then upwards. "Get to the roof, shut the door?" She'd probably have enough time then, as it sounded like that thing was still scraping around on the ground floor. Things down there had definitely looked like a killer robot had run loose, while she wasn't so sure about the damage to the higher floors.

Taking the offered hand, Hana put one foot against the wall of the building, pushing herself high enough to get her other foot on the windowsill. Then she could pull herself up and inside with his assistance. Those extra stat points the system let her distribute were really something. Hana had considered herself in pretty good shape before this all happened, but that had felt effortless.

"So, we're, uh...robbing a liquor store?" She didn't seem nearly as excited. Hana pointed her flashlight around the room, noticing the light glinting off dozens and dozens of bottles. After a moment, she covered her nose and mouth with the sleeve of her jacket. "Ugh. I guess I could, like...trade some of this stuff to other people." If this place didn't get entirely removed from the map as soon as they left, it might be worth coming back a few more times to try to haul everything away.

"Thanks, it's one of the few useful tricks I've got." Hana finished with the last door she could see, lowering her hand as the shadowy copy retreated as well. Glancing back at Nyke at his comment, she did make a strange face in responce. "Uh, just a little. I've...seen weirder, though. Recently."

She turned her gaze back to the floor they were on, looking through the open doorways...but she couldn't make out much. Nyke was obviously seeing something more than her, so she might as well leave it up to him. After a few minutes, she took a seat, back against the door to the stairwell, guitar across her lap. She might need glasses, but her hearing was as sharp as you'd expect from a musician. She'd just keep her ears perked for anything out of the ordinary.

"What is...? Hey!" Hana awkwardly hurried back to her feet as her companion suddenly took off. She glanced back and forth before following after. It wouldn't be a good idea to lose sight of him, if they needed to leave suddenly. At least it was fairly obvious which way he was heading, since she'd only been able to open so many doors.

Hana watched the gears turn for a few moments, before her new partner stood up. She followed suit, giving a little tug to her clothes afterward to straighten them. "With all this glass, I think it'll see us coming no matter what. Or, uh, we'll see it." She spoke somewhat quietly as well, still.

"...or it'll just hear us..." Hana winced as the first door caved in. After the second, though, she realized there wasn't anything that could be done about it. "This place is really falling apart. I don't know if we should go up any higher." They'd already had a bit of trouble with the first set of stairs, after all.

Still, they could risk one more floor. Didn't want to leave empty-handed, right? "Wait a sec, stay here. Let me try. Just, like...keep a lookout." Guitar in one hand, she pointed the other down the glass paneled hallway, picking out each of the doors they'd be able to see through from here, if they were open. A moment after each gesture, the shape of a hand extended from the closest shadow to the door, twisting and turning the knob until it popped open, retreating after a firm push.

"Can you just look from here? Or, like, just jog past them and get back here?" Hana seemed slightly distracted, eyes focused across the floor, finger flicking each time the shadowed nudged a door open for her. "...watch your step, don't fall through the floor or anything."

Holding the door open, she watched with a mixture of confusion and interest as he crouch-walked away. "...?" She tilted her head for a moment, before realizing he expected her to follow. Hesitating, she ducked a bit and moved away from the doorway, glancing side to side. "Why are we walking like this?"

Hana let her guitar trail off, leaning over to manually turn the speaker itself off to cut the music, before hurriedly switching off each keyboard as well, just to be safe. "...I don't know either, that's all it says on the-" She yelped in surprise as the mission prompt she'd just turned to check suddenly changed, accompanied by the disembodied applause. "Uh, why doesn't that sound good? A monster!?"

TV still displaying her lyrics in the background, Hana hurriedly stepped away from her setup and towards the aisle, not wanting to be close to any shelves that might go flying. She reflexively looked down at the guitar she was holding as she heard the noise, looking back up to spot the ghost's appearance. The teen stumbled further into the aisle as the television screen crackled and popped behind her, sending sparks flying.

She continued backing away as the spotlight stubbornly followed her, glancing between Helen and the ghost, eyes wide. "But...but...the computer thing said congratulations!" Hana wasn't exactly sure what to do about this new development. For now, she tried to take cover behind a shelf across the aisle, although the spotlight continued to point right at her. At least the floating tablets made it clear why items had been flying off the shelves earlier.
