I heard a Rumor

As Aliyah felt her will crash into that of the peacocks, she couldn't help but grit her teeth. Just as she expected, the avian had a high amount of willpower and wasn't going to give up and let her capture it. "I won't lose out here, not when I'm so close!"[break][break]

Eventually, the witch won her war of will and the peacock disappeared in a flash of pink light as it was added to her roost. It would be unavailable for a little while but that was fine as the fight seemed over. Her companions had finished off the rest of the furniture and what she assumed was a mimic by this point was on its last legs though it still had at least one more trick left.[break][break]

Seeing the attack coming, Aliyah fired her own ice beak attack against the tentacles, joined by Orion using his Icy Wind alongside her. "Keep attacking it! I've got you covered." she shouted to Hana. Aquila and King nodded before launching their Lightning Drop and Crashing Descent attacks against the weakened face.

Her attack didn't send the mimic face flying into the next state like she'd hoped, but it did wind up smashed apart and skidding across the floor to the far side of the room. Good enough! They just needed one good attack to finish this thing off, but her hammer was too unwieldy to bring it back around for another swing in time. She couldn't stand still right now, either.

With chunks of the surrounding building continuing to target her, she dashed away, altering her trajectory in mid-air as the boosting speakers pumped out bursts of sound. Her hammer retracted into its more manageable form as more of her clones continued to dodge directly into attacks meant for her. This buffer along with her dance-like movements left the musician far too mobile to be grasped by the desperate mimic.

Once she'd gained some range and gotten her hammer under control, Hana retrieved a familiar staff from her inventory. Finally landing on solid ground again, she took aim, waiting for the two diving bird-people to swoop back out of range before firing off the final shot she could manage with this magical item. "EXPLOSION!"

Her buffs would be running out soon, so hopefully this finished off the mimic! And there were no more surprises waiting for them after that. Although Hana now wondered what would happen to the building around them if they smashed its controller like this...
