"Oh, really? We hadn't met yet...so, nice to meet you, Aquila!" Hana stumbled slightly over the name, as the pronunciation wasn't familiar to her, waving to the bird before gripping her weapon again. This one was definitely more friendly than the dust vulture she'd helped Aliyah capture last time.

Nodding, helmet bobbing, she listened to the quick explanation of her new sub-class while they headed up the long flight of stairs. "I don't know much about mazes, but I could definitely help with the singing part!" Music was still thumping along from her armor, as well. "And I get how birds and singing relate, but what's up with the mazes?" Although it wasn't exactly clear how music or performing related to her current armored appearance, either.

"Uh, speaking of mazes..." Hana slowed to a stop at the top of the stairs, taking a moment to survey the area. "Which way should we go? Or, um, I could just blast a hole in the ceiling?" She looked upwards, pondering the idea. Aliyah was closer to the ceiling than her at the moment, though.

"Can you see anything from up there? Oh, maybe you can use your new abilities to, like, un-maze this place or something?" The musician thought about that for a few moments, as she moved further inside to examine the first intersection of corridors. "Actually, this place has illusions and mazes, which is kinda your thing now. Weird, right?" Maybe that meant something?

Aquila nodded back at Hana before taking off into the air, following Aliyah as he had his fill of the ratmen bodies. He hadn't gotten the chance to meet the musician girl when Aliyah had "captured" King so he only had Orion's words to go from. He didn't care for her supposed driving capabilities but she appeared to be strong and he wanted to battle her though that would have to be saved for later.[break][break]
"Ah, that probably had to do with my love of mazes." Aliyah said, blushing a bit as the group made it to the top of the stairs. "It was one of the few memories that I have of my parents." Aliyah finished. Though Hana couldn't see the girl's face, she would be able to hear the melancholy tone and have a general idea that the witch's mother is dead.[break][break]
Nodding, Aliyah began to make her way forward when the sound of flapping wings halted her. Given that it had come from further away in the darkness, Aliyah figured that they weren't alone and quickly landed, informing Hana of what she heard while making her way over to an "alleyway" between 2 of the storage units, commenting on the feel of actual metal under her hands.[break][break]
The group wouldn't have to wait long as 5 ravens came out of the darkness, landing atop some of the units. They were about the same size as Orion, though they were the traditional black colored compared to the Ice Tengus blue. It was clear that they hadn't been noticed yet though that might soon change as one landed on the floor and began to pace around, inspecting the area.

Hana tilted her head at Aliyah's explanation. Then nodded. It made sense, but didn't, at the same time. It would probably be just as hard to explain what her parents had shared with her. "Well, you should be able to take the lead here then!" The musician tried to sound cheery while hyping up her companion's new skills.

As Aliyah led the way forward, Hana followed, doing her best not to bump into anyone while carrying around the large war hammer. She couldn't quite see the threat that had caused the witch girl to pause, so held back until the large ravens landed within view. Holding her weapon in one hand, she gave Aliyah's shoulder a pat with the other, before motioning for her to stand back.

Shielding Aliyah with her body, the actual shield from earlier still strapped to one arm just in case, she pointed out into the open space between containers. A moment later, three floating lights appeared, illuminating the flock of birds with beams of blinding light! Some sort of magical staff popped into her free hand next, the red orb atop it beginning to glow brightly.

Her voice boomed through the armor's speakers, as a ball of flame appeared at the tip of the staff, rapidly growing larger as it flew towards the blinded birds. Hopefully she managed to hit all of them...she was also hoping the two of them would be well out of range of the area of effect spell!

Aliyah was fine with letting Hana take the lead, the girl had much more variety than the witch did so she was sure that she had something up her sleeve. She was proven correct when Hana launched a powerful fireball at the murder crows, landing a direct hit after she blinded them.[break][break]
The two ravens that had been at ground zero were nothing but charbroil right now, with the remaining 3 being severely burned and ended up being easy pickings for Aliyah and her birds. With the death of the latest defenders, the surroundings once again returned to the standard gemstone look from the previous floor.[break][break]
"So first was an office floor then storage units. Whatever is causing this seems to mimic different types of buildings though all those creatures were real." She stated aloud, beginning to brainstorm and attempt to solve the mystery. As the two women attempted to solve the puzzle, Aquila would call their attention to the other side of the room where the stairwell disappeared, another one reforming a few meters to the right.

Hana raised her shield for a moment, but the blast thankfully didn't reach them. Storing the staff away for later, she prepared to enter into melee with the few remaining ravens, but Aliyah and her companions darted past her to finish off the survivors. As the surroundings shifted again, she shrugged and followed the others towards the next staircase.

"It seems weird to create all this confusion, only to give up on it if we just beat a few easy monsters." She nodded along as Aliyah pointed out what she noticed about the illusory appearance. "This tower did pop up in the middle of the city. Maybe it's trying to fit in? Or just showing us what it thinks we would expect to see."

Hefting up her hammer with both hands again, she moved to take the lead once more, travelling up the latest staircase. "What do you think we'll find next? Maybe a mail room full of killer sloths. Or a bunch of computer servers and laser snails!" She giggled inside her helmet. "I guess the dragon at the top has the penthouse suite, right?"

So far, it had shown them an office building and storage units; both different types of buildings that wouldn't be out of place in a downtown area like NYC. It was clear that they were being watched by something since this staircase had been formed once they had "cleared" the floor. "This is starting to feel like some sort of dungeon."[break][break]

At Hana's comment, Aliyah came to a halt, considering how factual her statement was. She had no proof that this was the real Orion and not some fake created by Earth-chan. Her aunt's house was gone so she had no way to check if his cage was empty and while he had matching memories, they could easily be fabricated.[break][break]
Aliyah could feel her breathing begin to increase and made a conscious effort to calm herself; taking a calming breath and centering herself. This wasn't the time for her to go to pieces; they were in the middle of some makeshift dungeon being observed by something. The question of what everything actually was now...it was simply too 'big' for Hana to spend too long worrying about it. She'd panicked and cried the first few days, but once that was out of her system she started focusing on the here and now. Placing the markers down, it wasn't long before the girls heard the pounding footsteps echoing out through the maze. Aliyah had hoped that they would have had more time to explore but it seemed that they had been shuttled to this room probably to finish them off. Following behind Hana, she joined her in the large room, glancing around at the two exits; wondering which one the beast would be coming out of. The music her armor had been producing suddenly increased in volume, shifting fully into a dance break as multiple illusory copies of the musician appeared in front of her. Each spun and posed in turn, as the minotaur crashed through them, shattering each one...while being steadily slowed down as a result.

As the final copy vanished, Hana was revealed, ready and waiting to shove the head of her hammer into the beast's midsection. "Now it's my turn!" Pieces of her leg armor suddenly popped out before slamming through the carpeted floor to give her extra support. And then the hammer's bone head suddenly increased in size, almost as large as the minotaur itself...the weapon's haft rapidly extending!

Hana dug in as hard as she could as the hammer surged in size, the growth pushing the creature through the opening in the wall. And then smashing it through the wall behind that. And the one behind that. "I can't really swing this thing after that! Blast it with whatever you've got!"

Hana's hammer began to reel back in, returning to normal size as she detached herself from the floor, armor retracting back into place as chunks of the carpet were sent flying. She hadn't been worried about the recovery time at first, fine to stay back while Aliyah and her birds launched their assault. But, once she saw it preparing a big attack, she knew it was time to rejoin the fight. Quickly.

Blue lines glowed to life across her armor, similarly colored energy rippling through the boots as she dashed forward, speed enhanced even further. Music shifting into a new song as the few remaining illusory copies conveniently danced their way in front of Aliyah, an extra layer of temporarily protection as they would vanish soon anyway. Suddenly the musician blurred into view, unceremoniously hefting her up in one arm as they zipped away. Hopefully the birds could fly out of the way themselves, one rescue was all she could manage!

After the sudden jerk of movement, Aliyah realized she was now behind the monster. "Sorry!" This was all the armored teen had time for, as she relaxed her grip in case the witch wanted to maneuver on her own. Suddenly, somehow, Hana had a small cannon strapped to the hand otherwise busy holding that hammer.

After a brief moment to aim, the expected cannonball blasted forth, slamming into the minotaur as it began to turn towards them. Hana wasn't quite sure how much damage the impact had done, as high pressure water exploded outwards a moment later, flattening several of the already damaged walls around the mythical creature.

Aliyah stared in growing fear and horror at the slashing attack making its way toward her. Even with the boosts she's received to her speed from her passive ability, she wouldn't be fast enough to dodge this attack. Mentally cursing herself for once again putting off her speed stat, Aliyah shut her eyes and braced for what would no doubt be a painful attack.[break][break]
Or at least that's what should have happened. Instead, Aliyah felt herself being lifted and carried behind the Minotaur; safely out of the way of the attack. Glancing down, the witch saw that her mysterious saver turned out to be Hana. "Thanks. And it's fine" she muttered before remembering Orion and Aquila; both of whom should have been in the path of the attack. The thunder hawk had managed to dodge; having used his lightning drop skill to dodge while Orion created frost armor over himself to tank the hit.[break][break]
Seeing that Hana had produced a cannonball next, Aliyah aligned her own shot and fired while Aquila struck down like the living lightning bolt that he was. All 3 attacks slammed into the Minotaur, sending it blasting back and destroying a few of the surrounding walls with the explosion of water. Aliyah felt everything below her ankles become drenched in water and dreaded the shape of her shoes after this mission was over. That would be when she noticed that the water seemed to be draining somewhere and after following it, would lead to a hole in the floor leading to another level of the maze and the minotaur was nowhere to be seen.

"That's what I'm here for, right?" Hana returned the cannon to her inventory and gave Aliyah a thumbs up after making sure she was safely back on her own two feet. "You should probably raise your SPD though, it's way less fun to get hit by attacks. I don't know what Summer's thinking." She shook her head at that.

After waiting a moment for the scene to clear, she lowered her guard as the minotaur failed to reappear. "Was that the end? Oh." She followed Aliyah over, hovering a few inches off the ground still. Once the hole became obvious, she peered in as well, before floating down to take a closer look around.
