"Yeah...will definitely be doing that after this mission is over." the Witch muttered, not sure who Hana meant by Summer. She would be putting all of her points from the next few level-ups into her speed stat, mentally deciding to bring it to at least C rank before reviewing her next actions.[break][break]
"I'm not sure. I'm surprised it managed to disappear so fast. But then again it probably knows this place better than us." she stated, electing to remain on the top floor. "I say we take this opportunity to get to the next floor rather than go looking for a fight. The mission was to solve the mystery of the tower after all."[break][break]
If Hana agreed with her, Aliyah would go back to exploring the top portion of the maze, using the tape from earlier to mark her place. She'd rather not have to deal with the minotaur again and if it wanted to take the time to lick its wounds, that was all the better. Hana lifted back up before landing on the same floor as Aliyah, nodding at her decision. After the fight, the music she was broadcasting had died back down, softly playing in the background as they returned to exploring. It was easy enough to tell what direction they'd been at first, due to all the missing walls, but after a few turns she would've gotten lost again.

Eventually Hana spotted what she'd been dreading the entire time. "Uh, that's definitely the first marker you put down over there. We walked in a big circle!" She looked upset for a moment, rushing forward a few steps to point around the next corner. "We came up the stairs right...hey!"

After waving Aliyah over, she pointed out what had surprised her. Now a set of stairs going up had replaced the set leading down. "Maybe we just needed to beat up the monster to get to the next floor?" She shrugged.

The backrooms were just as creepy and confusing as she expected though Hana's background music helped things. It didn't take much to arrive back at their starting point a d after laying down some new tape, the pair would start on their way through.[break][break]
When Hana pointed out that they had gone in a circle, Aliyah's first instinct was to deny it. The tape hanging off the wall though wouldn't allow her to deny that and she felt uncertainty creep in as Hana pointed out that the stairs that had originally been going up were instead going down."Guess something really wants us to fight that minotaur again." she said, distaste and a small amount of fear creeping in her voice even as Orion attempted to bolster her confidence.[break][break]
"Well it wasn't our fault that that stupid bull decided to run away with its tail tucked between its legs. If this stupid building wanted us to defeat the minotaur then it shouldn't have allowed it to escape in the first fucking place." the witch would suddenly grumble out, trying to mask her fear with anger. She wasn't sure if it worked but it at least allowed her to focus as the pair went down the stairs; Aliyah being sure to put the more durable party members between her.[break][break]
Once the reached the bottom step, a T-shaped corridor would await them, each looking similar to the other. " So. Got any methods to track it or are we just going to end up wandering around and hope we get lucky? she stated before a whoosh of air drew her attentionto the corridor directly in front of her. The sound revealed itself to be the minotaur's axe flying down the corridor with the minotaur not far behind. Hana did another double-take at the stairs. This place was sure confusing. "Uh, down it is I guess." Leading the way downstairs, she eventually stopped at the intersection, looking back at Aliyah to see what she wanted to do.

"We could just blast our way through. Or teleport out and give up on this one." She pondered other courses of action, before Aliyah suddenly looked down the corridor. Hana looked a moment later, seeing the large weapon flying towards the two of them. No time to dodge, so she'd have to tank this one.

Green lines began to glow all over her armor as she braced herself, shifting power to her defenses as she blocked with the shield she'd used earlier. This would just barely work...the musician stumbling back as she deflected the flying axe to the side, where it embedded in one of the ugly walls. A loud tone was produced as well, rippling down the hallway, although it barely tickled the minotaur at the moment.

"Alright, let's finish this thing off!" After recovering, Hana dashed forward, gripping her hammer with both hands. Closing the distance to swing at their foe, mainly hoping to pin it down so Aliyah and her pets could have time to attack.

Aliyah knew that she wouldn't be able to dodge the axe throw with her meager F-rank speed. With how strong the minotaur was, she also knew that Ax packed a heavy punch. Orion moved in front of her as if to tank the attack and Aliyah's mind drifted to what would happen should his health reach zero.[break][break]
Thankfully she wouldn't have to find out about that just yet as Hana moved to intercept the axe throw with her shield and snapping Aliyah out of her fear. Resummoning Aquila, the three of them took to the air and each launched their attacks; Orion's Frost Wing, Aquila's Lighting Drop, and Aliyah using her Ice beak, each striking the Minotaur as it was busy grappling with Hana and causing it to bellow in pain.[break][break]
Clearly, on its last legs, the minotaur decided to launch a last-ditch assault, drawing in a great amount of air before releasing another bellow; this one echoing throughout the area and grating on the ears of all within 5 meters of him(D rank)

Hana wasn't going to beat the beast with pure power. Thankfully she had plenty of backup, so all she really had to do was keep it busy and cut off its movement options. Her weapon was slow enough that her swing merely grazed it, but this caused all the ranged attacks and flybys to easily catch it off guard.

With her defenses still boosted, she could stay right in the minotaur's face and tank that roar, pulling one hand away for a moment. "Two can play that game!" Whipping her arm back around, she crammed the orb of her summoned staff into its open mouth. "EXPLOSION!"

Hana was flung back, skidding down the corridor, armor slightly singed. The minotaur was definitely worse off, though. Well, Aliyah assumed it was, as there wasn't anything left to examine. Just a minotaur-shaped scorch mark on the maze wall.

After the triple attack landed, Aliyah had expected that to be the end of things. That was when the roar echoed out, causing Aliyah to lose her concentration and fall out of the sky. Her ears rang and her head pounded but she was saved from crashing into the floor by Orion grasping her cloak, slowing her fall enough so that she took no injuries.[break][break]
Giving a nod to Orion, Aliyah gathered all her will and focused back on the minotaur. She couldn't leave Hana alone against that thing though it seemed that she didn't need to worry about her. Watching the musician cram an exploding orb into the mouth of a minotaur was probably one of the most badass things she'd seen.[break][break]
Once the dust cleared, she could see that the only thing left was the axe embedded into the stairs. The actual body had been blown to bits by the bomb; perhaps a bit overkill though Aliyah wasn't complaining. Removing a birdcage from her inventory, Aliyah coaxed both her birds into it; Aquila was more reluctant, and shut the door, beginning the healing process.[break][break]
Walking over to Hana, the witch made sure that her friend was alright before taking a look around. It didn't appear as if there were any other creatures coming to attack them and even now, she noticed the floor returning to what she assumed to be its default crystal appearance. "Shall we continue exploring down here?"

Hana groaned, voice a bit scratchy and garbled for a moment, before the speaker in her armor adjusted. "Did I get it?" She lifted her head as Aliyah checked on her, glancing around for a moment. "...where'd all your birds go? Are they alright?"

It took her a few moments to recover, slowly getting to her feet, swaying slightly. Looking a bit wobbly, before she leaned against the wall and resummoned her hammer into her grip. "Yeah, just...gimme a sec..." The extra glow on her armor fading away as things returned to normal.

"Yeah!' Aliyah said, a little louder than she intended. Her ears were still ringing from not only the minotaur's bellow but from Hana's finishing move as well. "Hope I don't get permanent hearing damage from this." she thought, keeping an eye on Hana as she swayed.[break][break]
As she waited for the musician to get her bearings; and ignored Orion and Aquila's crumbling from the cage, the witch made sure to keep her senses sharp. Nothing had jumped out and attacked them on the previous floors when they defeated the floor bosses but that didn't mean that she could relax. The mystery of this building was still unsolved which meant that she had to be ready for anything.[break][break]
Once Hana was fine, the pair started walking again and Aliyah couldn't help but agree with Hana's grumblings. It felt as if they had been trapped in here for hours already. She hoped that their next battle would be against whatever was the cause of the strange events in this building.[break][break]
Just as she was thinking this, Aliyah noted the sound of furniture moving closer. Before she could voice her concern, a table and chair popped up. Dodging the attack, Aliyah took the air, firing off her ice beak attack at the table, taking a chunk out of one of the legs.[break][break]
"Now we have to deal with attacking furniture!?" the witch shouted before movement at the end of the hallway saw her noticing another enemy; this one being a peacock, before it unleashed a telekinetic storm.

"Huh, this room looks a little different." First off, it had furniture, instead of nothing but boring walls and bland carpeting. Second, there was an actual door on the far side of the room, instead of an open doorway. Hopefully this meant they were getting somewhere! Hana turned to say something about this to Aliyah, but was interrupted by the squeaking noise of furniture scraping across the ground.

"What's next, the kitchen sink!?" As Aliyah targeted the chair, she shifted towards the approaching table. Before noticing the other monster entering through the new door. "You think this thing's the boss? Let's go full power then!" Dashing to close the distance, she lifted up her hammer...multiple copies of her popping up from all angles to aim for the table as well.

As it tried to pick one to crash into, the others all lowered their hammers...all but one passing through it harmlessly. The real hammer was anything but harmless, of course, as the animated object was smashed into the floor. The crowd of Hanas all looked up as more furniture began flying at them, rushing towards the monster en masse.

Clone were disappearing left and right as objects smashed into them, but it was impossible to fully thin them out before they'd crossed the distance. The multiple musicians all drew back one fist each, even as the strange peacock began to unfurl its feathers. "Too slow!" Only one voice said that, before hands grabbed at the monster's tailfeathers from the opposite direction. A shadowy figure latching on tight to hold the creature still.

It was a bird, meaning that she could tame it and add it to her roost. Given that it seemed to have telekinetic powers, Aliyah was willing to bet that this peacock was also the one that had been mind-controlling the other monsters meaning it had telepathy as well. She'd be a fool to pass up on such an opportunity.[break][break]
"Full House!" Aliyah screamed; this being the technique name she came up with to summon all of her birds at once. The door to the birdcage opened, allowing Orion and Aquila to streak out, with King joining them with his usual regal air. Around them, the building began to wail causing Aliyah to glance around in concern; images of the crystal shattering and raining down upon them flashed through her head. Thankfully, this didn't happen though as she kept busy with the attacking furniture, which left Hana free to attack the peacock.[break][break]
The witch winced as she watched the peacock's body crash through the door. Taking Orion with her, Aliyah flew through the doorway and managed to catch a glimpse of a face made of crystal before she located the peacock.
"Tengu Tengu!" she shouted, activating her other skill. All 3 of her birds shone with different lights; light blue for Orion, brown for King, and bright yellow for Aquila, as their bodies rapidly underwent metamorphosis and transformed into their hybrid forms. She followed this up by activating her new sub-class, her maze springing up around her in a 51 square meter radius. Her fingers latched onto the skull of the down peacock and the witch began the process of taming the monster.[break][break]
"Hoh? Been a while since I've gotten to transform" Aquila said, looking excited as he used his feathered limbs to punch. King remained silent, merely using his Slicing Winds to attack the furniture. Orion meanwhile stood directly in front of Aliyah, staring into the growling face of the creature, ready to protect his mistress.[break][break]

Hana's momentum carried her through the door after the avian menace, clones squeezing through to spread out around the next room. She heard Aliyah calling out behind her, rushing through a few moments later. The transformation sequence made her wince, although at least her armor hid her expression. Birds were weird.

Looks like the witchgirl had selected her target, though. Hana turned to face the creepy crystal face instead, while her shadowy summon remained stubbornly latched onto the peacock, doing its best to hold it in place as Aliyah attempted to tame it. The musician's clones continued to run interference, intercepting attacks and the grasping chunks of environment that animated to grab at them, while Hana herself increased her speed even further. Panels on her boots opened, revealing tiny speakers that pumped out jets of sound to propel her forward.

The same song from earlier, playing louder than ever, as she pulled her hammer back to ready a swing. Handle rapidly extending as it had before, reaching all the way across the room, whistling past Aliyah as the already large bone head expanded in size to be taller than either of them.

Once she'd hit her mark, Hana skidded to a stop, feet digging in. Body now the pivot point for the ridiculously long hammer to turn on, whirling around the room, tearing through one of the walls as it circled towards the mimic's stationary face, steadily building up steam. If anything could detach it from where it was anchored, it would be this! "Hope you like Jersey!"
