Thanks to Kurai, the next area DeeDee showed them was their potential rooms. As he read through her textboxes, he was silently impressed by the furnishings the guild made for this place despite its origins. With the new world's current state, it was a godsend they would offer free rooms for the guild members. Not to mention the bathhouses she showed them afterward were enough for him to relax at the sight of the Japanese-style bath offered to them.

As they continued, Sylvia and her maids chimed in on the rooms' size (while trying not to see her too much out of embarrassment). While he did have his wolves, he could call them out anytime to eat and play outside of battles. They might be his summons, but to him, they were his allies with hearts and will. And when DeeDee mentioned the "mess hall", he had a feeling there might not be kitchens in their rooms, which was reasonable given their current location.

Though he had a feeling his wolf was starting to perk up behind him at the mere mention of the mess hall. It didn't help when he noticed Cloak's appearance with the same smile and ears perked up as Shadow's.

Level 1? Lowell was surprised by Kurai's willingness to participate despite his current low level. At the same time, he was impressed and worried with his apparent bravery and recklessness. Regardless, he nodded as he listened to Kurai's question. "I think so. My speed and strength increased a bit when I modified my [PWR] and [SPD]. The same can be said with my wolves," he answered. "A bit. Before the world changed, I hiked in the woods and mountains as a hobby. I had to use those experiences to help with my hunts and before I knew it, I got up to Level 3. Though to be honest, I mostly did it to hunt for food and survival. Leveling up is a secondary objective I had in mind."

As soon as they saw the strange beast monster that emerged from the bush, Lowell tilted his head when he saw its appearance. As he watched, one of his wolves simply approached it, and rather than attacking it, Shadow simply batted back out of curiosity. "Yeah. Looks like it," Lowell whispered back. "I had to admit. Looking at it playing with Shadow and Cloak was kinda cute. Oh! That reminds me."

He gestured his hand to the shadow behind him. Another [Howling Shade] emerged and it noticed both Shadow and Cloak playing with the strange beast monster. He slowly approached it and sniffed it for a while. Then like Shadow, it started to gently bat the monster along with his fellow wolves.

"By the looks of it, it's neither hostile nor aggressive to humans and their summons," Lowell guessed. "I wonder if they aren't shy with them." He slowly approached the creature and crouched down to its level as he took out a chicken nugget from his inventory. "Hey, little guy. Are you hungry? I got you a little snack."

Lowell smiled as he and his wolf bowed in front of DeeDee and her summons. At the same time, he noticed Kurai arriving for the tour, another familiar face coming from the Devil's Triangle survey. He didn't respond verbally, but he did wave at him with a smile. Due to his arrival, he could also see the strange sight coming together. A few maids, a Waddle-Dee summoner, a demon summoner, and him with his shadow wolves. He couldn't help but chuckle at this gathering.

"Guess it's my turn, huh?" Lowell cleared his throat. "My name is Lowell Field. And this is one of my [Howling Shades], Shadow." His wolf howled happily to the others. "Don't worry. I'll summon the rest of the pack for you guys to meet later. I promised."

As the tour started, Lowell looked around the living area. He could see a bit of free space between the chairs for his wolves to lie down to relax. While there seemed to be no televisions here, it was a good place for them to kick back and forget the worries from the outside for a while.

Lowell was next to chuckle as he tried to hang on while riding on Kurai's pegasus. "Let's not push our luck. Even if we can summon as many wolves and demons on our end doesn't mean they are unlimited. If this is like a video game, chances are our abilities are nerfed a bit to avoid abusing them in our current levels." He did read a few webtoons and played a few MMORPGs, so he knew there was a chance this Earth-chan wouldn't make it easy for both of them. In all honesty, he was wary of that mysterious figure and it would be too soon for him to waste his points to question them. "Speaking of which, what's your current level so far? I'm currently on Level 3."

As they continued their journey to their destination, Lowell carefully followed Kurai's advice as he watched his pack of wolves running in front of them. When he did, he heard his question about the survey. "Probably habitat and physiology of a monster. Not only do we need to know their abilities through a battle or observation, we may find the origins of their birth or their connections with the island itself. As long we're careful, we'll get the survey information without any issues."

The pegasus suddenly stopped after Kurai failed to locate his summon, causing Lowell to command his pack to stop, too. He scanned around the area when Kurai asked him if they should check it out or keep going. Lowell hummed as he looked at the bushes rustling. "I suggest the former. We might have disturbed a creature along the way. We might prepare for the worst just in case."

His wolves quickly grew wary as they growled at the bush while Lowell assumed his position. He couldn't use his [Call of the Pack] immediately against weak monsters, but he might as well prepare to do so to summon another Howling Shade.

Lowell was surprised. Not only Kurai's summon, Seere was stoic, but he seemed to be confident in his abilities. Compared to most of his wolves who were loyal, he wondered if his summons were a bit of a loose cannon. "Makes sense. I'm willing to accept this Mission for surveying the Spirits, too. Let's hope we won't run into some monsters we can't handle soon."

After Seere took off into the depths of the island, Lowell watched the young rocker summon some kind of a demonic pegasus while offering him a ride. Looking at the direction his summon was heading, he would be able to get there by foot in his werewolf form. But he was aware of his ability's long cooldown and he rather save it for an incoming battle ahead. As for his wolves, he looked at his pack of wolves as soon as Kurai asked about them. To his surprise, the two wolves huffed their chests and howled at their pack leader. "I think they will be fine. Let's get to it."

Lowell quickly got onto the pegasus and took a deep breath. Then if the pegasus started to follow Seere, his wolves started running and catching up to them. To his relief, they managed to keep up with him and Kurai. So he didn't need to worry about them for now.

The [Utopia] guild. Lowell heard that it was a recently new guild that focused on the co-existence of humans and creatures in this alternate world. In all honesty, he had eyes on another guild called [S.I.G.M.A] focusing mostly on investigations on this world, but he was a bit unnerved with how professional it felt when he saw the guild HQ exterior facade. But as he found himself in front of the [Utopia] HQ, it was vastly different when it came to its atmosphere. It was even enough for his wolf to feel a bit of ease compared to its last reaction with [S.I.G.M.A]. He already decided to join this guild instead after his adventure in Ender Island, but he wanted to make sure what he would expect from this fledgling guild first.

As he tried to enter it, however, he was met by a certain mute girl along with a maid girl(?) at the entrance. He waved at her while his wolf, Shadow happily ran to Dee Dee with Lowell running up from behind. "Oh, hey! Glad to see you again from the Ender mission, Dee Dee. Down, boy." Shadow followed his order, but happily stared at Dee Dee. "I know I'm joining the guild today, but I'm happy for the tour regardless."

Lowell was surprised to learn that this man, Kurai was not only a summoner, but his summon was a demonic horse rider. Despite his nature, the summon named Seere was surprisingly courteous to him and Shadow. "It's very nice to meet you, too, Seere. I hope we can work well together."

When Kurai asked him what would they survey first, Lowell hummed in thought. "I was planning to survey some beast-type monsters here, so..."

Before he could decide on the direction or turn to his Howling Shade to sniff out any monsters nearby, a window suddenly appeared in front of Lowell and Kurai. It was a Mission that revolved around spirits and it seemed to be based on locating a lost spirit on this island. It wasn't on Lowell's agenda, but it was a Mission after all. But while he specialized in myths, spirits were not on his radar. "This is interesting. Can your summon do well with this kind of mission? We may need all of the help we can get for this." He then turned to Shadow as he was still staring at his master while another one of his wolves appeared (by mental command from Lowell). While they weren't normal wolves, he wondered if their noses could locate spirits, too.

He was lucky to live as a sociable guy despite his love for werewolves. While he was surprised that the man looked like those metal rockstars he saw on the net, it didn't take long for him to try befriending him. "I think so," Lowell answered while his Howling Shade slowly sniffed the new arrival. "I heard that some guild is offering rewards for surveys here. I don't know how many points or rewards we can get from it, but we might get more if we trigger a Mission here, too."

Lowell understood that most people weren't interested in the surveys. But for him, it was a good way for him to learn more about the strange monsters in this world. He knew it was a dangerous task to take, but if it meant helping others to survive this crazy world, then he would accept this task without any hesitation. But then again, it was too early for him to know if there was a Mission already.

Lowell was the type of guy who preferred facts over fiction. Yet, at the same time, he was also the type to give a benefit of the doubt to the latter. It made sense since he was focused on researching myths other than werewolves sometimes he tended to run into supernatural rumors before he got into this world. It was a given since his job class focused on summoning shadow spirit-like wolves along with transforming as one. So when he learned of some spirit wandering in a mysterious isle called the [Devil's Triangle] and a guild making a call to do a survey of it, he wanted to go there to see if the rumors were true. Not only that, he wanted to find more ways to get stronger. Unlike everyone who was trapped in this parallel world, he wasn't very active when it came to grinding and farming due to his focus on finding a temporary home for him to stay in until then.

Using another rental sailboat, Lowell sailed to the mysterious Devil's Triangle. He already summoned one of his [Howling Shades] as his assistant in steering the sail and the water seemed calm enough for him to reach his destination with no issue. Once they arrived on land, it didn't take long for his wolf to sniff very cautiously as his master watched. "Anything we might watch out for, Shadow?" His wolf stopped sniffing and shook his head. "Of course. Well, we should keep our guard up. Who knows what kind of spirits and monsters we might run into?"

As soon as he and his wolf stepped forward, Lowell stopped when a UI suddenly appeared in front of him. "Huh. Looks like a mission for this island," Lowell hummed. "Getting deeper into this "Astral Realm" seems a bit risky..." As he looked around the land, he noticed someone who came out from a form of transport that led them to this island. "Hey, you're here for the survey, too?"

Lowell was aware of the facts. He knew werewolves were figments of myth and it would be physically impossible for a human to transform into a monster. However, they were only facts to his old reality, and as he realized the moment he transformed into a real werewolf for the first time. The moment he found himself in this form, it didn't take long to take advantage of his newfound ferocity.

Back in the battle on hand, he noticed his wolves were starting to feel exhausted after half an hour of biting and scratching. It made sense since their first opponent was a golem made of stone and there might be a chance their fangs and claws were getting dull. "If it falls, then it will fall. How about we'll add a new friend to finish this off?" Lowell let out a howl to the sky and as soon as the pack responded, another Howling Shade appeared beside them. "Break down its legs, boys!" One of the wolves growled at the werewolf. "And girl? We're almost down with this thing!"

The now 3 Howling Shades quickly pounced on the legs as the golem tried to shake it off. But when it did so, Lowell used this opening to tackle it with a full-power bite and scratch from his claws.

Lowell couldn't help but be amazed to see the shadow-like wolves attacking the golem. While he barely knew them for a few minutes, he was amazed to see how dedicated and determined they were in fighting the golem. Sure, they were seemingly part of his new class, but he couldn't help but wonder if they were more than simply abilities to his mysterious job class. Unfortunately, his amazement was short-lived when he noticed their bites and scratches did nothing to leave any marks on its stone skin.

Normally, Lowell would have joined the wolves to aid them in defeating the golem. However, there was no way he could break through it similar to those martial artists who broke through bricks on TV. At this point, he was at a loss and he knew his wolves wouldn't be able to deal with the golem by themselves on their own. It wasn't until Hanae suggested an ability in his job class that may change the tide of this battle. He was unsure since he hadn't read more of his [Shade Howler] ability, but he knew there was no time to wonder about the what-ifs of this situation.

"I understand!" Lowell mentally opened the UI and read through his class one more time. "Let's see... [Call of the Pack]... Transforms..." His eyes widened as soon as he read the next few lines of the description. "Transforms yourself into a [Howling Shade]?! This is too good to pass up!" He turned his eyes at the full moon glimmering above him and Hanae and then, the golem. "And this is a good time to use it, too. A night sky greeting me with a bright full moon. How about I'll stretch out first?"

Taking a deep breath, he mentally activated the said ability. At first, nothing seemed to happen to him. But as he looked up at the full moon again, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his body before he collapsed on his knees. As he tried to endure it, he felt his teeth starting to grow sharper, his nails growing into claws, hair starting to grow around his body, his spine cracking, and his feet shifting. The more his body became less human, the more he felt scared, yet excited by his new power. As his transformation was completed, his mind was overwhelmed by his physical changes and once he adjusted them, the newly transformed werewolf howled to the full moon.

"Now then..." The bipedal werewolf turned his yellow eyes to the golem. "How about we'll have some fun, shall we?" Lowell growled as he pounced on the Terracotta Sentinel and used its bare paws in his attempt to crush its stone skin. As for the wolves, they stopped attacking to stare at their master's new form in awe. After they stared at each other for a while, they quickly joined him and tried to scratch and bite down the golem's legs.

Idir wasn't the only one who was fired up as Lowell continued to claw and bite his way through the fishmen. In all honesty, their flesh and scales tasted horrible for him. Yet it didn't matter since he was too focused on dealing with a few monsters while aiding his pack of wolves simultaneously. Even if he has the ability to transform, it still has a time limit of it. If he wasn't careful, he would end right back in his human form. Despite this, he couldn't help but to gain interest in Idir's challenge.

"Haha! Interesting!" He growled with excitement. "I'll take up your challenge, bud! But I hate to say I won't go easy on you! We're going to get all of the monsters, right everyone?!" His pack howled in agreement as one bit through one of the Forsakens' shoulders. "Alright! Let's go!"

Lowell let out a howl enough to startle some of the monsters. When he did, another wolf emerged from the shadows as it joined him in attacking the remaining Forsaken the other two were biting in. As the new Howling Shade scratched its face with its claws, Lowell bared his fangs and bit its neck down to decapitate it. "How's that?!" He howled again.

As Lowell and his Shade Howler left the boat after arriving on the island, Shadow cautiously scanned the area as his summoner met up with the others gathering at the port. Despite Idir's assurance there was no danger, he noticed his wolf growling after sniffing in the air. "Well, if there is an ambush, my wolves are ready to strike back. Either way, let's be careful, just in case."

He silently nodded to the young girl (which he was secretly surprised to see in this dangerous world) for her future. But it's when he noticed the young woman who gave Idir some kind of a bandanna. The woman named Dee Dee said (through a word bubble he read) she was one of the co-founders of a guild called Utopia. He was surprised guilds even existed in this world. This made his comparisons with a video game grow stronger, especially with the tabletop RPG.

But just as he could approach her, Shadow suddenly howled loud enough to gain his attention. Turning around, Lowell gasped to see a group of strange fishmen approaching them with fishing spears and other weapons he might find in a fishing port. However, he didn't panic like the last time as he watched Idir transform into an armored black tiger and start to fight off the fishmen. "He seemed to have fun. Let's join in the fun, shall we?"

The wolf grinned at his summoner before he jumped on one of the monsters. When he did, Lowell snapped his fingers and another Howling Shade appeared to aid their packmate. After that, Lowell screamed as his body was enveloped in shadows, transforming him into a brown bipedal werewolf. He howled before he started biting another fishman who was about to tackle him.

Lowell's jaw dropped as he watched a golem made of stone come out from the secret door behind the wall. The system said this was a tutorial, yet the stats he saw on the window that appeared on the terracotta said otherwise. Adding to the flames it belched out and he knew both of them would have a really bad time. To his surprise, the woman suddenly reacted by flipping back and throwing some kind of vial to the golem. Whatever was inside it seemed to affect the monster somehow badly, it was enough for Lowell to be impressed enough to try finding a party window and trying to add her to it.

"Lowell, nice to meet you," he replied. "If only we could do the same against that behemoth." Suddenly, the shadow wolf stepped forward and howled at its new master while glaring at the golem. "Do you want to help Ms. Hanae?" The wolf nodded. "Alright. I'm not sure how you can deal with that monster, but I'm counting on you! Sick 'em, boy!"

The wolf charged toward the golem on Lowell's command. But as it did so, another one suddenly appeared next to him before it joined its fellow packmate in an attempt to pounce on the golem. He had no idea how or why it happened, but he couldn't help but smile at the sight of wolves aiding them in their first fight in this strange new world. However, he prayed that the woman was still safe. Hanae didn't seem to have the same ability as his job class, so he couldn't help but worry about her safety.
