The Stonk exploding into a shower of gold coins was disappointing. Andy was looking forward to seeing what they tasted like, but it seemed that wasn't in the cards. Most of the reason he went after the fattest one was because he would be able to harvest more from it. He couldn't even take the gold coins or the bread with him as they disappeared as well. At least his Harvest Season ability worked.

As he was cursing his luck he managed to catch sight of another one of the creatures sneaking up on one of his guildmates. Damn things kept spawning like rats. No. The rats were much easier to kill. No wonder Kitty was having a hard time dealing with them all. Andy didn't even know her name to properly warn her. All he could do was yell a “Look out!” before shoving a piece of tiger jerky in his mouth and clicking his heels together.

He dashed at the creature and as he got close he dove at it with his hand outstretched. Most of his fingers holding the knife were pointed out with only his thumb left to hold onto the handle. When he got close he attempted to rake his fingers across the Stonk's side. Wherever the rubber of his glove touched skin easily peeled away leaving the beast weakened.

That wasn't the end of his assault though. He flew by the Stonk after diving at it before tumbling along the ground and quickly jumping back to his feet. After taking full hold of his knife he threw himself at his prey once more. Although he couldn't see its weak point anymore Andy still tried to slash his blades across its belly.

With how weak his current opponents seemed to be Andy afforded himself a bit of time to look around. Mikael was cleaving through the fishmen as expected. Natalya was clearly able to hold her own with a plant he didn't recognize. He'd have to get a sample later to examine. Giovanni's attack seemed to be the most powerful however as the man unleashed a laser beam that easily dispatched another fishman.

While he was watching his companions a third enemy took post on a piece of floating debris nearby. A starfish thrown by the skulking fishman pierced the back of Andy's shoulder. Well, the armor that his large jacket turned into at least. Suppose that's what you get for becoming distracted during battle. He quickly plucked it out of the breastplate and threw it into his inventory for later use. No sense in wasting potential ingredients.

The fishman hissed as it continued throwing weapons at him. Now that he was aware of the dodging the starfish wasn't a problem. It only took a moment for Andy to close in on the enemy. His blades once again thrust forward into the fishmans body skewering it on his sword. A swift kick sent it back into the water from whence it came.

By now Giovanni had finished with his group and was making his way toward land. Mikael was laboriously fighting their own battle and Andy debated for a moment if he should help them. With his blades expended for the moment, all he had left were his bombs. He didn't want to hurt his friend in the blast so he set his eyes on Natalya. “Incoming!” A flick of his wrist sent an egg bomb flying towards the enemies near the woman. He then started leaping across the debris toward Mikael in case he needed any assistance as well.

Once again his friend tried to hide behind a smile. Well, not hide as Kael was openly stating he was stressed. As best he could at least. For some reason, they seemed reluctant to complain. “You know Kael you can talk to me about whatever.” Andy wasn't usually one to help with this sort of problem, but they've done more than enough to warrant it. He only hoped that they'd take him up on his offer.

As expected they perked right up when he mentioned ribs. Maybe if Andy offered a snack in return for Mikael telling him their problems they'd take him up on it. There was no use in forcing them though. However, it may be useful to teach the man to be a bit more selfish. It seemed they were already working towards it on their own. “How much have you seen so far? Is there any place in particular you're looking forward to?”

Andy wasn't expecting the man to fill up the filter for him when he was done, but in retrospect, he really shouldn't have been surprised. He took Kael's advice and drank his fill of water before getting to work. “I think I promised you some fried chicken before. Luckily I brought some sauces as well so I can grill you some if you'd prefer. Look in the fridge and find what you like.”

From his pack, he produced a square cutting board and threw it on the ground in the middle of the camp. The raised center of it unfolded before spitting out a sleek metallic state-of-the-art kitchen. While it was setting itself up he refilled the water filter and set it down on the counter when the transformation was complete. Then he turned on the fryer to allow it to come up to temperature while he worked.

Andy put on a white apron and quickly started preparing what he needed to cook their meal. Luckily all his ingredients were able to be stored in the Port Kitchen without a problem. Even the demonic chicken meat was safely tucked inside the full-size fridge with a few beers, other alcohol, and numerous other items. Until he took the beers out of the refrigerator and mixed them with other ingredients in a large bowl. “Let me know what you find.”

In truth, Andy wasn't too concerned with getting a reward for the capture of the creature. Getting a bit of points as a bonus would be nice, but that wasn't the reason he sought out Mr. Beast after all. There were more important things to worry about. Like getting his much-needed herding dog. Growing tigers was hard work without a dog.

He chuckled in return to Mr. Beast's thanks. As if he would let half of his new pet harm its breeder. Maybe that was a poor choice of words, but what else could you call him? His assurance didn't do much to change Andy's mind though. “You can't tame the gargoyle if I kill it on accident!” At least he assumed so. It would be quite a feat if Mr. Beast could bring the creature back from the dead.

Watching all of his pets fight together was a spectacle. It only increased his excitement. What sort of things would his be able to do? It seemed the possibilities were endless as they continued to assault the creature until its defense was broken. Andy would have to be even more careful not to hit it too hard now that it was more vulnerable.

After the gargoyle's assault on Mr. Beast's menagerie, it turned it's sights on Andy. Maybe it decided that he would be an easier target than trying to fight a group by itself. Unfortunately for it that wouldn't be the case as when it tried to swipe its claws at Andy he returned the strike. This time his sword hit it's mark just as the creature's sharp nails dug into his side.

The red trail created by his weapon spelled out 'petrification' when he turned the blade on its side and used it like a bat to send the gargoyle flying in Mr. Beast's direction. “Think it's ready yet?” Andy called out to his partner while he kept an eye on the gargoyle for signs of surrender.

After a good look at the tiger, it indeed was slightly different than the one they encountered. Still, it was a shock to see. If Andy hadn't known about Dee Dee's abilities he may have thought it was the ghost of the tiger coming to take revenge on him for desecrating its corpse. Luckily he hadn't had to encounter that yet, but you never know. “That's pretty cool. I think I got some of its fangs after one of mine. It was after that labyrinth we did with Argent.”

Andy took the tomato Dee Dee offered him and devoured the thing before they even started making their way to the warehouse. It made for a nice snack while he listened to Kitty's explanation. She was a good storyteller so it was no wonder she owned a bookstore. It did make him curious about the true nature of the Stonks and left him with many questions. How would they kill them if they were ghosts? Does ectoplasm taste good? Could he use it to make some sort of jelly?

There was only one way to find out. Andy wiped his hands and mouths of the tomato's juices while the others talked. He didn't care much for Lafey's attitude. Especially her views on the merchandise. He'd put a few of his own items in that pot and he'd be damned if he'd allow a few spirits to ruin his plans. At least the mage girl was being careful. “Well, whatever The Coin does I'll be glad to have you watching my back.” She seemed to know what she was doing.

Although his mood was rather sour he chuckled a bit at Mikael's joke. Intentional or not. “Sounds grave indeed. I'm glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor Kael.” Andy had been worried about his friend's disposition lately. They'd been as helpful and selfless as ever but seemed to be lost and wandering. He hoped that this Guild would give him the sense of purpose he'd been searching for.

It seemed despite Lafey's complaining she was the first one to enter the warehouse to combat the Stonks. Andy was close behind and couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight of the woman crumpling to the ground. He couldn't deny the satisfaction he felt from watching the spoiled woman get her comeuppance. The intense laughing caused him to double over and he went over to the wall to steady himself without checking to see if she was alright. “Wait wait. I need a second.”

It took him a few seconds to calm himself and be able to stand up straight again. Once he did Andy looked up into the rafters to see what caused the incident. Much to his delight, the creatures Kitty had told them about weren't ghosts. They almost looked like an orca mixed with a boar. Strange. However, in the end, it was just another meat he'd have to learn to cook.

A chef's knife was summoned in his hand and pointed at the fattest of the creatures. “That one's mine.” The knife in his hand was quickly thrown and replaced with a large skinning knife that appeared from a dark red light. Despite its size, the creature managed to dodge his attack and start running away.

Not that Andy would let that happen. The same dark red glow that summoned his knife appeared in his eyes as he unsheathed his silver sword. From his sword, a line of the same color was left in the air marking his path as leaped into the rafters after the Stonk. He quickly caught up to the fleeing creature due to the massive gap in their speeds. Perhaps dodging his attack was just a fluke.

He would soon find out as his blades lashed out at his target on the creature. A red marker signifying the weak point of the Stonk. When he struck the creature the long line left behind him the word 'mastication' repeated over and over. It reminded him of one of those neon signs with the scrolling letters.

Andy wanted to chat a bit more with Natalya to see if she would be able to assist him in his endeavors, but it seemed she wanted to get things started. Nothing wrong with being straight to the point. Especially when she already had a plan. Not an elaborate one mind you, but a plan nonetheless. He didn't think they'd need a better one anyway.

As he made his way into the portal Andy pulled out his trusty silver sword to fend off the onslaught Natalya expected. He'd heard the same that they'd be swarmed as soon as they set foot on the island. It's part of the reason why it took him so long to make it here. Sure enough once he made it to the other side he was greeted by a notification letting him know the attack would begin.

Of course, Mikael wasted no time in drawing the ire of the fishmen. From his position on the beach next to Natalya, he examined the floating debris in the water for a moment. He didn't have the chance to test his agility so far so he was excited to see an opportunity before him. Without wasting another second he crouched down before leaping into the air towards the two engaging the fishmen above the water.

Andy landed on the nearest piece large enough to hold him before darting at the creature that surfaced nearby. As he moved forward the arc of his blade left behind dark red letters that left a fading trail along his path like a glowstick at night. The silver sword plunged into the fishman's chest causing it to fall backward into the water. “You're right. Not too bad. We'll be done in no time.” Another fishman appeared next to him, but a meat mallet summoned in his hand quickly took care of it. A loud crack could be heard as it made contact with the creature's head.
