For feeling useless? Susame eased himself down on to the nearby sofa, attracting the mewling noise of the cat from by the door that still wasn't quite done checking him out. It climbed up on the sofa and cautiously took a few padded steps over to him and then, after getting its fill, plopped down on his lap and relaxed. As soon as his deft pale fingers starting petting and delving into fur, the purring commenced and Susame was at a nice level of casual peace.

Susame showed neither anger or derision from anything she had spoken about so far, hopefully putting any fears of hers to rest. "Eventually, I will create a guild. A guild is...well, I suppose I should call it a 'pack' for you to better understand. I want to lead it, but I can't have one just by myself." And his smile returns, back from the contemplative calm that his expression bore before.
"Again, I ask, will you be my ally?" Now that she was of sound mind and condition, he would ask again and wouldn't have anything else dangling in front of her to covet and pounce on. No, this was her free will.

As soon as Min-su opened the door and greeted him, he was left absorbing the familiar noises of a dog barking and a cat trying to sneak its way out. Susame bowed his head in greeting, heading inside and slipping off his shoes and putting on the customary slippers instead. "Thank you for inviting me." His eyes drink in his two pets, immediately feeling more at ease with the two animals scoping him out.
It was cute, he had forgotten moments like this.

Russian, perhaps? It's the first thing that comes to mind and he reasons that it fits very nicely with her overall image. That coat of hers especially, it looks like it could weather any sort of dangerous cold thrown at it. He doubted she'd want to part with it, but he would love to have something similar someday. It reeks of familiarity and dependability. He likes things like that.
He takes her bowl and wraps it back up, so as not to make a mess, and after taking out the other goodies in his bag he deposits it back inside to be thrown out when he is finished. With his own water bottle, he gulps down a fair bit, only stopping when she asks about a dog. And that dog it seems, was very important to her. "Hm, not recently, though I do know of someone that works with animals very closely. The next time we are in contact, I'll ask him about it." The pleading in her eyes speaks volumes, and he knows Min-su would never allow a dog to be walking around in its lonesome without giving it a helping hand.

"What does the dog look like?" He was tempted to ask what breed among other things, but he doubted she cared or knows about such things so held his tongue on that one. "Is that the 'someone' you are looking for?"

They could make a detour to the nurse's office, shining his light to the door or straight ahead to the main finale, but looked to the other two with them.

The soup smelled of a delightful marriage of vegetables and meat. No doubt for her this meal is heaven on her. He almost believes she might choke if she eats any faster but while she does, he grabs a wrapped sandwich and carefully relinquishes it so its contents would be fit for him to consume without paper in his mouth. He takes one bite, chews, and then she asks him what she needs to do and then what to call him. His eyes look into hers, and he smiles.
"Susame, and while I want to know yours, feed yourself first." Those same eyes narrow, knowing. "That's what you want to do most of all, isn't it?" He couldn't imagine being so damned hungry like this, never known the feeling of raw wanting hunger, but had seen it play its part in the world and in history itself.
It was like dealing with a child, and Susame was old enough to have some experience with that field adult or otherwise. Some never outgrow that which swaddled them and he continues to eat without much care. He too, relished the feeling of a stomach being filled. He was good with animals that displayed the qualities of loyalty and often took solace with them when the stress of his life had become too much for his young small shoulders to bear.
What was once a precious bit of something for her to cling to for sustenance became nothing more than something more for the floor to add to itself. It drops and she carefully meanders to him. Distrust, confusion, hope, and relief. All displayed in minute moments in her eyes and expression.
How sad, that two individuals from different sides of the world could be brought together like this. Him, a city born lad, wealth in his hands, and blood in the other, and hers, the cold realism of the wilderness and a dagger.
Susame reaches into the bag to pull out a wrapped bowl and takes off the plastic so the full might of its tasty aroma is unleashed. He dips a plastic spoon into it, but doesn't put it in her hands just yet. No, he had to answer hr first: "Because this world has, temporarily, made our past lives obsolete. For a moment, while everyone gathers their bearings, we are equal, but how long until the divide happens again?"
He smiles, and his height is a constant reminder of stately authority and cunning.
