Lynne had to think about the answer to that question actually. It was like asking how hot an oven needed to be to properly bake a cake recipe in some sense. She would maintain eye contact as she hummed a bit, honestly if this person was as strong as they looked and sounded in terms of the system then she was likely fine to be carried. She just needed this person to keep her safe.

The woman would crack her neck and look around. She was actually likely not going going to live, unless this Night Chaser instantly destroyed the creatures her best bet was hoping she leveled and could simply dodge away from the multitude of creatures. Earnestly, Malorie was out of depth going out on a diplomacy mission, but she was not about to complain on getting the chance to actually go out on the expedition for it. She wanted to gain more experience, and even if she was no main character she was more or less here to act as an extra set of hands for the group that she was travelling with. In that case, surprising no one, she was still travelling with the young bird-loving teen that she had met before, having come to the conclusion that she was safest in the girl's presence then otherwise.

The other addition is new, but she was apparently fairly well known: Argent. The good doctor, poorly mannered as it were, did not ask for a last name. Unlike herself, who preferred to still be called by her old title and last name, many seemed to have given up on the point of having a last name in this age. She was a Lynne forever and always in her life, but that meant nothing in the current era of chaos. That was part of what they now aimed to solve though!

Having been given the quest after prompting enough folk, she had had put out feelers for someone to assist her in achieving the breakthrough find on a creature that she was so sure of being real. Like Yin and Yang, Connection and Dissection existed. Malorie was told of a two-headed beast with beautiful black and white scales that had seemed to be two creatures of different anchor types that shared a body. Something rarer then she could otherwise hope for. She desperately wanted its eyes, and if she could collect it then she would be golden it felt like. [break][break] Information brokers were expensive though and she refused to pay to continue a search for a potentially fake monster. That was until she received a quest for it. 'Find the Twin Serpent of Chaos and Order [1/2] - Locate the whereabouts of the creature from a New York Den. Quest Reward:  ' [break][break] Incredibly basic mission, thought dangerous considering it was a red screen. She had figured out that ignoring the screens for long enough allowed her to start getting new ones that were red in color, much easier on the eyes and warm like nothing else. So she had accepted and moved to the location after tracking it down. Waiting for another person to come along; she was prepared to drag them into the den if she had to. [break] |

Malorie didn't need to go all the way in to be able to react in any real way. Her class was based on eye-based effects, and if she was going to party with this girl for more then just this one time, then she had no reason to fully hide what she could do. The tall red-head getting within range as her eyes went blue, the strongest of the three was a gift user. The red-head's eyes would brighten as she blasted sensory information directly into the creatures mind. An invisible wave of damage hitting the creature as it scream and its brain's glass cage shattered open.

Another bird seemed to be working on the crowd and once more looking over it appeared to be PWR and SPD based. Interesting enough. Seemed to be a theme, she could likely assume they were all powerful in their own fashions. Interesting enough. Turning her gaze again in a different direction she would shoot a beam of ice herself, freezing the next strongest in the line partially. This was rather interesting, seeing as she hadn't gotten to use it before. It was exactly as she figured it would be. Considering her PWR was currently at a great deficit of strength.

Either way this left two for the girl's bird to finish off. She was not as worried considering the skills she was showing so far. Breathing in, the doctor would exhale again... was this supposed to be as easy as it was, "I think your a bit over-leveled for this judging there Ms. Johnson."[break]

Malorie would grin as she got confirmation of the girl's potential study chose. A good one, intelligence lead people through their passion. As she distracted the last fishmen she watched as the beak of ice ran through the last fishmen. She should probably refer to them as Forsaken. Matter of fact, she probably could freely shift over to being a Melody for a bit. Looking at the blue was calming even in the rain that was falling over the wakes. Looking down at the fishmen, she would begin to act quickly, using the second bit of her Observe and Response ability to speed up her visual abilities to nab the eyes of the fishmen.

"You chose a good study! I'd turn away if this is gross by the way. Monsters likely have different forms of visual sensory from even myself and my enhanced vision being what it is. Part of my reason to travel here was to collect ocular samples to research on," Malorie would finish nabbing the last of the six eyes, in varying states of preservation as she had to work with no tools, "It is definitely not pretty work, anatomy research is never pretty though. You would be surprised though by how many lives this could save though! And that is currently my reason for doing this."

Lynne would breath deep and release as she stood up and stretched, cleaning their hands in the salt water before placing the eyes into their inventory. Wading back to the edgeline of the shore, at which point the timer began to click again. "Ah, I see I needed to move back into shore. On a different note, that must make you almost young enough to be my daughter then. It is rather wild even the young ones have to do this. Absolutely not okay if you ask me, but I suppose you aren't that weak so really no complaints from me. Good thing too, I may be a doctor but I can't heal people. Haha."

Connection types, and weak too... saddening honestly. She wasn't about to worry about it. Taking off towards the wake beating the bird out into the waves as she smashed her fist into one of the fishmen's torso's, swaying from one of the strikes as she did so. It was a sloppy sort of fighting, but it was fast as the punch slammed true into the weakest of the two creatures. Not that Aliyah needed to know that the fishmen was the weakest. Her hand punching into and through the fishmen as she activated [Buzzing Punch]. That would leave a sting... heh. Pulling her bloodied hand back she would shake the gore off as she turned to the other one.

She was then met with the bird spearing the strongest of the fishmen with ice through its leg. That was interesting. A ice-magic bird? That was very interesting, its basis in PWR and SPD were surprising and not at the same time. It made sense that a bird would be physically aligned, but that also meant that this was not a magical bird in this case. Although she supposed it still was considering it seemed the other lady here had summoned it. Based on her research that likely made her either a Connection anchor or some odd Melody, Shelter, or Gift.

It seemed that had thrown her off a bit, good. People were easier to observe while off balance, especially those that had easy eyes, or rather ones that were free of irratants. She quite did still find joy in the sensory she got from the color of eyes, it was a joy unending to her. She would get more another time perhaps. For now she wanted to enter these islands so that she could gain even more experience, she was thirsty for the stats that would come. She had every reason to want to bolster her speed and Magic even further, and her power was slowly becoming more important. Enough that she felt that she needed to analyze what she needed to do more later, stats were too valuable to pass up at the moment. Especially when she relied most on her core abilities and her eyes ability to keep up with others.

"I can yes, forgive me if that came out rude. I was an optomitrist before this, so it gave me a class based on sight abilities, interesting as it is. I have no interest in taking human life at all if you are worried about that by the way, I have known several, so far, that were extremely paranoid by the fact I had known their name and thought I was some serial killer. Can't really blame them though, not with the state of the world," Malorie would pause as if remembering something for a moment. Tapping her hand against her forehead and bouncing it away softly, "Forgive my ranting. I've been in the countryside of europe for roughly a month and the only person I met in that time was a rather horrible orphanage caretaker. Has left me rather antsy for conversation, but that's not really the point here is it."

Looking around again the tall woman would crack her neck and look around. They should get off the beach as soon as possible, sand was awful when it got in one's eyes and could cause scarring on the outer tissue. It would not be a nice day on the beach it seemed. The rain that surrounded the island would seep inwards and a timer popped up infront of her face. [Wave 1/2], three fishmen looking creatures rose from the waves, "Let's make sashimi shall we?"

Company had come to her rather quickly and she honestly thought their eyes were rather pretty upon seeing them. They were soothing, but sharp. Like a nice day on the beach, which they were, funnily, standing upon at that moment. A polite smile turned into a friendlier grin of pearly whites as she put her hand out to be shook, "Certainly, it was part of why I stayed where I did. I am Dr. Malorie Lynne, but you can just call me Lynne or Dr. Lynne. Even if a doctorate means nothing in these days haha."

Stopping to think she glanced the avian-host up and down quickly, assessing though not in an outwardly hostile manner. Lynne had wondered if she had just been too far away to read the woman, but that had entirely not been the case for her. Lynne had just finished returning the children from the country side back to the caretaker. She had paused to take the time to have a very serious discussion about fences with the poor chap, not able to help how aggravated that had made her. "Couldn't help every time the children ran off", honestly what a useless human. They had had prettier eyes though that had put her body physically at ease though and she had paused. She should have taken the children to LA where there was more than one person keeping them safe. That was not her business now though.

Having traveled along the road she had not initially spotted the randomly generated RPG-like chest. It was almost too out of place for it to catch her eye, but little didn't catch her eye at the end of the day. A woman had to be careful still when there was a chance for absolute insane chaos to turn into apocalyptic disaster level threats. So when she stopped to examine it she was quick to start looking for threats. Hornets it looked like had set up their nests in the trees around the nest and she honestly couldn't trust that they weren't super mutant animals.

Activating observe and response she would dash onto the hill. Pulling out her new whistle and keeping it held to her lips as she dashed up and immediately had to dodge to the left as a wasp came down at her. It wasn't otherwise hard for her to reach the chest, but could she just open it and wait? No. The wasps would keep coming so as she opened the lid of the pirate-movie style chest she would back away two more wasps having dive bombed to try and stab right through her. The one from before finding her fist connecting with its face as she whipped to the side, using its momentum against it. There were more coming, but she could mostly keep the house cat sized wasps out of the way.

Dodging one here, dipping past another two, grabbing her rewards, dipping away again. It was a hit and loot tactic that worked surprisingly well. Eventually she would only have her whistle left as she nabbed her last reward. Tired from her constant motion she would cart herself away at a dead sprint that some professional runners would envy. Heading back to the safe zone - heading back to rest and return to New York to look for more work, more levels.

Pupils, dilated. Bloodshot retinal veins. Obvious signs of a drunk, or at least an intoxicated man. Sighing she would pat her hands on her side. Trying to clear them of blood that was not on them still yet, looking around before finally replying to the man. A smile practiced from years of medicine took over her face, "Nice to meet you Sir, and I would say a bit more than just a strange message. Do you think this is a fever dream of some form? This is not the city I know for my optomitry practice. Which is both a thrilling mystery and intensely horrifying."

He was a VIT based class, her passive told her as much, but she got nothing from checking for his name. 'Would you like to use the party function?' Ah, another odd prompt. She would focus on it only long enough to mentally check the box on the prompt and move her eye contact to keep even with the man's eyes. Even if they made her skin itch from the obvious signs of alcohol, her synesthesia was making maintaining that eye contact rather hard.

A swift roll saw any chance of a blow miss her as she got in close with the Scarecrow again and sent a flood of sensory information to assualt it. The specter flying in behind her as she closed the gap with the monster and slid under one of its two attacks as it sliced again, not realizing, or perhaps not having enough control from hitting itself with the scythe. An impact as the scythe got stuck in its own wooden body.

Reaching below the thing the woman grasped its pole and would lift it from the ground. Smashing it back down in retaliation. Everything had moved in slow motion like she had planned for and it was glorious... frankly glorious. The feeling of breaking something even if only a little bit. 'You have defeated the Specter of the Field' cool sure, yep. This was a good feeling. Setting the scarecrow corpse down she would get to work unburying the children around her and trying to wake them. It would be a long trek back and they would not reach town likely until night time. Which really limited the options she had.

As the children awoke they would cry, while the older kids seemed to be mature enough that they would listen when she asked them to help her unbury their friends. That was, very much a boon. They would be in shock, and she was just the nice "irish" lady coming to nab them back to town. Where the irish bit came from she wasn't actually sure she didn't have an accent at all, but the oldest here was seven. They likely just didnt know what was happening, that was fine. Kids would be kids at the end of the day.

Malorie would continue to watch the scarecrow for a time, eyes analyzing the scarecrow's ability even quicker. It was a part of her class that let her analyze abilities just a bit faster then usual, and she would take as much of an opportunity as she could to break it down before moving in. Its why she was at an impass for so long over the matter.

At least the children no longer screeched or laughed from the ground, which was an incredibly annoying prospect from her perspective. She would look at them to check for flared nostrils or shallow beathing on occasion and watch it when she needed to. Which was all good now considering that she was currently trying to save the little brats... someone really needed to just fence them in or something like american recess did. They could play and not be running off to dangerous places if that was the case.

As she finished analyzing the ability she would grin and crack her neck. It was time to finish this then. In more hilarious fashion. She just needed to activate observe and respond then reach the actual scarecrow. That was an easy enough thing to do. Shifting her gaze back and forth Lynne would get down to a sprinter's position before taking off past the newly swinging phantasm.

An attempt was being made to catch up for lost time. She had lost two months to that stupid rescue group in New York. She would have to pay them back to some degree for the treatment when she got a chance. For now though, she needed to worry more about what she was doing. She had only just found a notification about Ender Island and she had accepted the attempt to enter without a second thought. Even if it was a rather poor idea for her to take it on she would do it.

Arriving on a coast line she was given the basic details of a mission and she couldn't help but grin. Finally another monster with eyes. She could actually let loose... Perhaps she sould of pulled out the scarecrow? Maybe that would of helped her, but really she had just been searching for everything that she could get her hands on. For a moment she would wait and assess; after all what if everyone dropped off here. Then she could at least get a party moving on this in some regard. She just needed to work on patience first.

Besides it wasn't like she was likely to end up getting matched with someone that wasn't easy on the eyes, literally. She had never seen a shade of eye color that hadn't made her incredibly appreciative of the beauty of the organ. It was after all, her largest driving factor even in this world. Optomotry practically didn't exist for monsters! Think of all the new forms of vision, all the new forms of visual senses that were non-eye based. She was excited, but she wasn't about to try and go overboard when she could gain a companion potentially.
