An attempt was being made to catch up for lost time. She had lost two months to that stupid rescue group in New York. She would have to pay them back to some degree for the treatment when she got a chance. For now though, she needed to worry more about what she was doing. She had only just found a notification about Ender Island and she had accepted the attempt to enter without a second thought. Even if it was a rather poor idea for her to take it on she would do it.

Arriving on a coast line she was given the basic details of a mission and she couldn't help but grin. Finally another monster with eyes. She could actually let loose... Perhaps she sould of pulled out the scarecrow? Maybe that would of helped her, but really she had just been searching for everything that she could get her hands on. For a moment she would wait and assess; after all what if everyone dropped off here. Then she could at least get a party moving on this in some regard. She just needed to work on patience first.

Besides it wasn't like she was likely to end up getting matched with someone that wasn't easy on the eyes, literally. She had never seen a shade of eye color that hadn't made her incredibly appreciative of the beauty of the organ. It was after all, her largest driving factor even in this world. Optomotry practically didn't exist for monsters! Think of all the new forms of vision, all the new forms of visual senses that were non-eye based. She was excited, but she wasn't about to try and go overboard when she could gain a companion potentially.

She didn't plan to go too deeply into the island, merely trying out the first part much like how everyone else was doing. With her two summons, she figured that she should be safe against anything that she'd find there and headed over to the teleportation circle, arriving on the new land mass. Arriving at the coast, Aliyah glanced around nonchalantly before noticing that there was another girl nearby.[break][break] "Hmm. There could be safety in numbers. What do you guys think?" she considered before posing the question to the birds in her roost.[break][break] "As long as I fight something strong, that's all I care about." came Aquila's response. It was typical for the battle-hungry hawk that she wasn't surprised to hear it. Orion's answer was also in line with what she expected, urging caution. "She can at least serve as another set of eyes for danger so I'm fine with it though I'll be keeping an eye on her."[break][break] The Dust Vulture; who had so far rejected being named by her, merely offered a derisive snort before speaking in his regal, deep tone. "This One cares not what you do, only that you die so that This One may be freed from its shackles."[break][break] Aliyah could sigh as Orion began to berate the vulture for its words as she made her way over to the girl, waving to ensure that she got her attention before stopping a few meters away. Company had come to her rather quickly and she honestly thought their eyes were rather pretty upon seeing them. They were soothing, but sharp. Like a nice day on the beach, which they were, funnily, standing upon at that moment. A polite smile turned into a friendlier grin of pearly whites as she put her hand out to be shook, "Certainly, it was part of why I stayed where I did. I am Dr. Malorie Lynne, but you can just call me Lynne or Dr. Lynne. Even if a doctorate means nothing in these days haha."

Stopping to think she glanced the avian-host up and down quickly, assessing though not in an outwardly hostile manner. Lynne had wondered if she had just been too far away to read the woman, but that had entirely not been the case for her. As she sent the request for the party to the woman she would speak again, "Your WIL stat must be astronomically high Miss Aliyah. I usually can see some amount of information on people when I get closer, but I can't see a thing with you. That is reassuring of your strength to me."

Reaching out and shaking the other girl's hand, Aliyah smiled back as she introduced herself to her new temporary partner. "I'm Aliyah Johnson, nice to meet you, doctor." The young girl hoped that the older woman had some form of healing ability given that she was a doctor but it would probably be better to find out before they ventured deeper into the island rather than when or if one of them needed healing abilities.[break][break]
As the witch-themed teen was about to speak up, Doctor. Lynne's next words gave her pause as she took in the implications of it.
"She can see my stats? Or at least she would if my WIL wasn't so high. Yay for having a traumatizing tutorial, it really is the gift that keeps on giving. I wonder what else she'd see though" she thought, mentally cheering at the benefits that her having invested so much into Willpower had given her.[break][break]
"Well a closed mouth doesn't get fed." the bird user mused before she spoke up. "Huh. I never meet anyone who could see someone else's stats before. Does that work on just players or does it work on monsters as well?" she asked, curious to know the answer.

It seemed that had thrown her off a bit, good. People were easier to observe while off balance, especially those that had easy eyes, or rather ones that were free of irratants. She quite did still find joy in the sensory she got from the color of eyes, it was a joy unending to her. She would get more another time perhaps. For now she wanted to enter these islands so that she could gain even more experience, she was thirsty for the stats that would come. She had every reason to want to bolster her speed and Magic even further, and her power was slowly becoming more important. Enough that she felt that she needed to analyze what she needed to do more later, stats were too valuable to pass up at the moment. Especially when she relied most on her core abilities and her eyes ability to keep up with others.

"I can yes, forgive me if that came out rude. I was an optomitrist before this, so it gave me a class based on sight abilities, interesting as it is. I have no interest in taking human life at all if you are worried about that by the way, I have known several, so far, that were extremely paranoid by the fact I had known their name and thought I was some serial killer. Can't really blame them though, not with the state of the world," Malorie would pause as if remembering something for a moment. Tapping her hand against her forehead and bouncing it away softly, "Forgive my ranting. I've been in the countryside of europe for roughly a month and the only person I met in that time was a rather horrible orphanage caretaker. Has left me rather antsy for conversation, but that's not really the point here is it."

Looking around again the tall woman would crack her neck and look around. They should get off the beach as soon as possible, sand was awful when it got in one's eyes and could cause scarring on the outer tissue. It would not be a nice day on the beach it seemed. The rain that surrounded the island would seep inwards and a timer popped up infront of her face. [Wave 1/2], three fishmen looking creatures rose from the waves, "Let's make sashimi shall we?"

"Oh, an optometrist. That makes sense. From what I've been hearing from other players, everyone has been getting an ability that's based on something to do with their life." she muttered before continuing. "That part wasn't really a concern of mine though I appreciate your openness with it."[break][break]
In the time since she had completed her tutorial, Aliyah had run into a lot of people with strange abilities and that wasn't counting the rumors and gossip that she picked up every time she hung out in the hub. Anything major that had happened or about noteworthy achievements and she would know about it within a week's time.[break][break]
Just as she was about to tell the girl that she didn't mind her ranting, Aliyah's attention was drawn by a screen popping up in her face alerting her that the first wave was incoming. A quick glance around showed 3 Fishman creatures rising out of the waves and approaching them, hunger in their eyes. "Certainly."[break][break]
In a blast of cold air, Orion appeared at her side, eyes hardened and prepared for battle. Aliyah was quick to assess the 3 Fishman, feeling that none of them were particularly strong though that could be deceptive. "I will deal with the one in the center. We will see what she can do." Orion squawked before ice formed on his wing as he charged toward the Fishman in the center, that one appearing to be the strongest.[break][break]
"Orion will deal with the strongest one. We'll take care of the stragglers." [/color] The bird witch translated for Dr. Lynne's sake before thrusting her hand out, launching a beak of ice at the Fishman on the left while they were distracted by Orion's charge and managing to land a hit into its thigh, piercing it. Connection types, and weak too... saddening honestly. She wasn't about to worry about it. Taking off towards the wake beating the bird out into the waves as she smashed her fist into one of the fishmen's torso's, swaying from one of the strikes as she did so. It was a sloppy sort of fighting, but it was fast as the punch slammed true into the weakest of the two creatures. Not that Aliyah needed to know that the fishmen was the weakest. Her hand punching into and through the fishmen as she activated [Buzzing Punch]. That would leave a sting... heh. Pulling her bloodied hand back she would shake the gore off as she turned to the other one.

She was then met with the bird spearing the strongest of the fishmen with ice through its leg. That was interesting. A ice-magic bird? That was very interesting, its basis in PWR and SPD were surprising and not at the same time. It made sense that a bird would be physically aligned, but that also meant that this was not a magical bird in this case. Although she supposed it still was considering it seemed the other lady here had summoned it. Based on her research that likely made her either a Connection anchor or some odd Melody, Shelter, or Gift.

Aliyah made a note that the good doctor was faster than Orion, not by much but still enough to get an edge over him. "I think she's about as fast as Aquila which puts her at about C rank speed. Not bad." the witch mused as she watched the doctor punch the Fishman hard enough that she pierced through its body.[break][break]
" So she has no problem with killing monsters then. I wonder if her views apply to anything with intelligence as well or if it's only humans that she won't kill."[break][break]
While she was busy with her thoughts, Orion easily took care of his target, smashing its skull in with a smash of his wing. The last Fishman upon seeing that its fellows had died let out a scream before Dr. Lynne rushed forward to occupy it.[break][break]
Seeing the opportunity presented to her, Aliyah lined up her next shot, summoning another ice beak that pierced straight through the head of the last Fishman, sending it crashing lifelessly to the sandy floor. "I had planned to be one before. Study it in college." she said once she had a moment to catch her breath. She wasn't sure when the next wave was going to come but she'd take this opportunity to focus and prepare.

Malorie would grin as she got confirmation of the girl's potential study chose. A good one, intelligence lead people through their passion. As she distracted the last fishmen she watched as the beak of ice ran through the last fishmen. She should probably refer to them as Forsaken. Matter of fact, she probably could freely shift over to being a Melody for a bit. Looking at the blue was calming even in the rain that was falling over the wakes. Looking down at the fishmen, she would begin to act quickly, using the second bit of her Observe and Response ability to speed up her visual abilities to nab the eyes of the fishmen.

"You chose a good study! I'd turn away if this is gross by the way. Monsters likely have different forms of visual sensory from even myself and my enhanced vision being what it is. Part of my reason to travel here was to collect ocular samples to research on," Malorie would finish nabbing the last of the six eyes, in varying states of preservation as she had to work with no tools, "It is definitely not pretty work, anatomy research is never pretty though. You would be surprised though by how many lives this could save though! And that is currently my reason for doing this."

Lynne would breath deep and release as she stood up and stretched, cleaning their hands in the salt water before placing the eyes into their inventory. Wading back to the edgeline of the shore, at which point the timer began to click again. "Ah, I see I needed to move back into shore. On a different note, that must make you almost young enough to be my daughter then. It is rather wild even the young ones have to do this. Absolutely not okay if you ask me, but I suppose you aren't that weak so really no complaints from me. Good thing too, I may be a doctor but I can't heal people. Haha."

Aliyah was fascinated to see Dr. Lynne picking out the eyes of the Fishmen, wondering for what purpose she'd be taking them for. "I know she's an eye doctor but what could she really get from taking their eyes." the witch pondered before speaking aloud.[break][break]
"It doesn't really bother me all that much, I've seen gorey displays from Orion whenever he eats any monsters." she said, turning to see the aforementioned bird digging his beak through the eye hole of one of the Fishman to reach the brain. "Case in point."[break][break]
As Dr. Lynne finished cleaning her hands, the timer started counting down again, alerting the pair that the next wave was imminent. "I have to agree. I'm not sure if any kids have gotten involved yet but I would hope not. With how some of these tutorials were, there's no way they'd be able to survive them." She stated, her voice sounding somber.[break][break]
By the time the next 3 Fishman rose midway from the depths, they were met with a beak of ice speeding their way, curtsy of a sneak attack from Aliyah. It didn't do much though as one of the Fishman smashed the beak with a punch while the other two gathered spheres of water that they launched at the group.[break][break]
"Seems we have a bit of a stronger and smarter group since they're not leaving the ocean." Aliyah said as Orion bashed away the water sphere that had been aimed at her with his frost wing. "Given how easy that was, I'd say that's at about C rank or so." she thought before summoning Aquila in a flash of lightning.[break][break]
"I think we'll have to take some drastic measures to get them out. Aquila, if you will." She didn't even really need to speak as the thunder hawk had already begun to flap its wings, sending a wave of electricity coursing through the sea and shocking the 3 fishman, sending them sprinting onto the beach, each noticeably slower as arcs of electricity coursed through their bodies.[break][break]
Orion was quick to follow up with a blast of cold air, dealing even more damage to the fishman and turning their scales brittle, actual chunks following off. "Their speed and defenses are weakened, they should be easy pickings now."

Malorie didn't need to go all the way in to be able to react in any real way. Her class was based on eye-based effects, and if she was going to party with this girl for more then just this one time, then she had no reason to fully hide what she could do. The tall red-head getting within range as her eyes went blue, the strongest of the three was a gift user. The red-head's eyes would brighten as she blasted sensory information directly into the creatures mind. An invisible wave of damage hitting the creature as it scream and its brain's glass cage shattered open.

Another bird seemed to be working on the crowd and once more looking over it appeared to be PWR and SPD based. Interesting enough. Seemed to be a theme, she could likely assume they were all powerful in their own fashions. Interesting enough. Turning her gaze again in a different direction she would shoot a beam of ice herself, freezing the next strongest in the line partially. This was rather interesting, seeing as she hadn't gotten to use it before. It was exactly as she figured it would be. Considering her PWR was currently at a great deficit of strength.

Either way this left two for the girl's bird to finish off. She was not as worried considering the skills she was showing so far. Breathing in, the doctor would exhale again... was this supposed to be as easy as it was, "I think your a bit over-leveled for this judging there Ms. Johnson."[break]

Dr. Lynne seemed to have a host of effects that her eyes could give besides being able to scan others. One of them seemed to be some sort of invisible pain effect given how that one Fishman had acted.[break][break]
Orion and Aquila finished off the remaining 2 Fishmen with simple pecks and scratches though Aquila was complaining about the lack of strong opponents. In Aliyah's opinion, she'd rather be over-leveled for an area than under-leveled since her safety would be more guaranteed that way. "I just need to gather more points in order to get a sub-class. That is my next goal."
With the wave not completed, the pair would get a system message congratulating them before stating that they were allowed to explore farther onto the island. "Shall we?"[break][break]
