"I'm not sure exactly what you did, but it seemed to have helped. Thanks, Dee Dee." Hana smiled at the other girl for a moment, before returning her gaze to the road in front of them. Now that they had left the LA streets behind, there were less abandoned vehicles and debris, but there were still things to watch the road for.

This was some sort of California suburb or small town outside of the larger city. She wasn't sure if it had always been this close, or if Earth-chan had shifted some things around. Either way, it was mostly abandoned, with the LA Safe Zone close enough to make escaping to it reasonable. Still, there might be a few interesting things left behind.

Hana slowed as they passed derelict buildings, glancing to each side of the street, wondering when she should park and begin investigating on foot. While they could always teleport back, it was easier to drive out of town, rather than walk. Plus, anything they found that was too big to fit in an inventory could be carted back in the bed of the pickup.

The teen came to a stop, blinking for a moment. "...is it just me, or does it look like there should be something there?" Right on the corner of two streets, there was simply an empty lot. Not parking spaces or an abandoned building, just unnaturally smooth pavement. A wide stretch of prime real estate, completely bare.

Dee Dee Was riding along with Hana glad that the work she put into the truck was going well, it no longer made that strange sound with the engine and with the new tires as well as balancing and properly fitting them.. and new break pads... fixing the supercharger, basically getting everything up and running again, the vehicle felt a lot smoother then the short drive she had had in it to the garage, and she looked to Hana and gave her a thumbs up glad she enjoyed the feel of the truck as well. Dee Dee was quite glad she had learned so many skills even if the chances of her using them were slim to none the were starting to come in handy now that was for sure she had even gotten a new cigarette lighter for the truck, and While Hana didn't likely smoke she had taught her how to use it since it could help with camping if she needed to start a fire. She had also taught her how to change a tire and use the road rescue kit or at least she showed her how, she wasn't sure if Hana had learned it fully or not but if push came to shove she made sure the directions where with the kit and the Jack so if needed she could work off those. So she was confident everything would be fine after all Hana had been fine without knowing all that anyway! As they drove along Dee Dee continued to look for a place to Scavenge for the supplies she was asked to procure, and it wasn't really a mission, someone just asked her for a favor and she agreed to do it, that and she needed some supplies for herself for an Idea she had that she wanted to do and for that she would need some materials to fix up a building or make a stall in the safe area itself, maybe something mobile? she wasn't quite sure yet but the Idea was already percolating in her head about it. Regardless she needed to keep her eyes open for any potentially good places to go through. Every time Hana would slow down Dee Dee would take an extra careful look at the buildings they passed, though many seemed to ether have been looted already or they were to damaged to consider going into, and in other cases they just likely wouldn't have what was needed, so they would continue on. they were outside the safe area as well which made sense, almost everywhere that could be scavenged in the safe area had long ago been searched and picked clean after all, and those that didn't know how to work the system or use their class abilities didn't want to stray out of it and so it was up to people like her and Hana to do such in the surrounding area. Then the truck came to a stop and Dee Dee thought perhaps Hana found a place to check out, only for Hana to mention that a place looked like something should be somewhere, and Dee Dee was confused for a second till she looked in the Direction Hana was looking and indeed it did look like something should have been in the empty lot that they seen there, Dee Dee blinked a bit as she looked at it before opening the system and sending Hana a message "That is very strange... Maybe something was there before and it was taken down before the flash? But then again with things moved around... maybe what was there is now somewhere else? or.. Invisible somehow?" she sent the message as she looked at the spot, it had all the hallmarks of having likely been used at least from the area around it but there was just nothing there at all. Dee Dee then realized she never added Hana as a friend and so she sent the request to the girl "Oh right I found out I can't message people I know if they are outside a certain distance, but if we are friends then I can do so so I sent you a request" she added in a follow up message. Hana accepted the friend request with a smile and a nod. She thought they already had, but it must've been forgotten in the excitement of repairing the truck. Killing the engine, she removed the key and returned it to her inventory before unbuckling and exiting the vehicle. "Maybe the building got teleported somewhere and Earth-chan just smoothed the ground over after, yeah."

Shutting the door behind her, the teen walked into the deserted lot. "I don't think it's invisible, at least." She glanced back at Dee Dee, before continuing to walk straight across the open area. Hana was looking down at the ground mostly, searching for anything out of the ordinary. "Do you see anything!?" She had to shout, now, standing all the way across the parking lot from Dee Dee and the truck.

Finally, something stood out. Squatting down, she got a closer look at some sort of grate set into the ground. It'd been easy to miss until she was almost standing on top of it. "Here's something!" She called out, waving the other girl over. Hana didn't want to stand on top of the grate, but she did lean over it to peer down into the depths. "Hmmm..."

Dee Dee gave a little thumbs up as Hana accepted her friend request and then she hopped out of the truck as Hana did as well, she made sure to close the door gently rather then slam it since she hadn't had time to go over the hinges of the doors to see their conditions. Hana's comment made more sense then her invisible building Idea at least, maybe it was just smoothed over? As she headed around the truck Hana was already walking across the lot ad as she mentioned she didn't think it was invisible Dee Dee nodded in agreement to that. Dee Dee started to look around the lot as well, clearly something WAS here at one point, but where had it gone was the real question.. and when? Also what had it been that had needed such a large lot? Looking around she could see what clearly used to be parking spaces very faded paint marking the area's of each, but oddly no signage anywhere nor any cement partitions or even little Decorative area's where they would have things like a few bushes or Trees to make it look nice, there was just... nothing, This greatly confused Dee Dee as she continued to look around, though she did find a Penny of all things, and as she picked it up Hana called out to her if she found anything and she nodded but realized she likely couldn't really see so she sent her a message "Just some old faded paint that shows the parking spots.. and I found a Penny!" she then sent the message to Hana as she continued to look around. With that she continued to look around, and she kept finding loose change everywhere, and while it was basically worthless as money now, it was still useful for the metals it contained, the fact that so much was being found though made her wonder even more what kind of place had been here. But before she could ponder further she heard Hana calling out and she looked over to her waving and She headed on over. She took a bit to cover the intervening ground between them, but when she got there she seen what Hana was looking at, she also had prepped a message and sent it when she got there and held out her hand with the change in it "I found $5.75 in change all over the place" the message said before a second popped up "And I see you found a grate?" she said looking at it being just as careful of not stepping on it as Hana clearly was being Hana Sakuyuki |

Hana turned to look at the message that popped up near her head. "It's too bad you can't turn in money for points. Emir would've been really happy about that, I bet." She grinned at the thought. "Uh, and yeah. Let me see..." She had to bring up her inventory and scroll through it, as she didn't use this as often as any of her weapons or accessories.

After a few moments, she had a flashlight in hand. Closing the menu, she clicked the light on and pointed it down through the grate. "...huh." Hana adjusted the angle just a bit, pointing out where Dee Dee should look. "That's totally the roof of a building, right? Just, uh...underground."

She had no idea how it'd wound up under the street. Hana also no idea how they'd get down there to investigate further. But, that also meant nobody else had probably discovered it or picked it over yet...

Dee Dee gave a nod when Hana commented on the coins she found and she then put them in her pocket, the metals would still be useful for things so they were still of some use at least, as she did that she had no clue who Emir was but she assumed it was someone Hana knew, Maybe she would meet them someday? But for now she finished securing the coins in her pocket... before remembering she could use her inventory and so tossed them in there, it even sorted them how nice! She then looked over at Hana as she seemed to look for something, and then after a bit she produced a flashlight, what a handy thing to have access to, she had to assume she used points to get it, but that also meant things like electricity could work.. this set more Ideas in her head as she then followed the beam to where Hana was pointing it. It definitely did look like the roof of a building from here. and she nodded to Hana's assumption to it's Identity. Well it was there... and likely hadn't been scavenged.. but now how to get down... Looking to the Grate Dee Dee was sure she could fit into it.. then she looked at Hana and realized the girl likely couldn't for the clear reason being Dee Dee was just smaller over all, so taking off the grate was clearly out of the question to get them both down there.. she then thought of something "What about the sewer access? or maybe a subwway system near here? maybe that will get us there?" she sent the message to Hana as she looked down the grate again "Or as a last resort we could just take the grate off and make the hole large enough for the two of us"Hana Sakuyuki |

"Hmm. I don't think they have a subway here." Hana looked up to read the message, before squinting down through the grate again. "If we pull the grate off, I might fit through. Barely. Or I could make a bigger hole, yeah. Either way, someone would probably notice the change."

She flicked off the flashlight, standing up straight, thinking through the problem. "Then we'd have to drop a rope or something down. And probably teleport back out." Hana glanced at the truck, obviously not wanting to leave it behind, now that they'd spent time and effort repairing it. "But yeah, maybe a, uh...manhole cover? Or like those holes on the curb for water. Uh...storm drain." It took her a moment to remember the proper term.

"Even then, if there was anything too big for the inventory, we'd have to bring it all the way back up to the truck." Hana tapped the flashlight against her chin as she pondered. "...for now, why don't we find another way down, and we can just scout it out?"

Hearing of the lack of a subway Dee Dee tried to think of other ways, the easiest way she could think of is they remove the grate from the ground she had tools with her after all, but looking at the grate she wasn't sure if it was one meant to be taken off like that, though looking closer she COULD remove the screws but it seemed more for maintenance then removal so that was clearly out, she then listened to the other points that Hana made, if they did rip the Grate off someone would notice and that would mean it could be looted while they were gone with a haul, or that they could be followed in, and while she didn't mind others picking it over at the same time she had things she needed to find so that was out for the moment as well. Looking up at Hana after she turned off the flashlight she nodded a bit to the Idea of needing rope, the hole was clearly to small to have Kramer fly them down, and pulling anything up through it that they couldn't fit in the inventory wasn't a going to happen ether so that was also clearly out, and seeing Hana look at the truck she had to wonder what she was looking at it for, but for the moment she left it at that as she stood up as well and stretched a bit. The sewer entrance Idea or drain seemed to be the best Idea so far though Hana made a good point on those soon after on that taking anything large out through them wouldn't work ether and Dee Dee nodded to that. There really wasn't much else to do but look around for another way down "Maybe looking around would be the best Idea, we don't want to have to leave the truck out here and abandon it if we can help it, I just got it up and running perfectly! and yeah the other ways wouldn't allow for larger things... I still have my cart parts in my inventory so at least moving things would be easy if they are large. so Lets go looking for the way in!" she gave Hana a thumbs up and looked around "Maybe we can find a way down in one of the other buildings? or the surrounding area? is there maybe a tunnel nearby?"Hana Sakuyuki |

"Tunnel? Oh, yeah!" Hana stood up straight, remembering something. "It's supposed to never rain here, but when it does rain it floods really bad, so they have these tunnel things for that." She nodded along. "Along the sides of some of the roads. Uh, what's it called...a drainage ditch?"

The musician smiled, as it seemed like they had a proper plan now. "I didn't see any the way we came, so you go that way and I'll go this way." Hana indicated a direction each time. "Just send a message if you find one. Or anything else interesting."

Stowing the flashlight for now, the blonde turned to head for the nearest street, beginning her search for any ditch or tunnel that looked big enough to actually walk through. At least they were both short enough to make this a little easier than it might be for other curious explorers.

It seemed mentioning a tunnel Helped Hana think of something and she got to explaining what it was, a Drainage ditch? oh that might lead them where they wanna go, but they would have to find one, did they perhaps miss one on their way driving in? Dee Dee was about to type out the message when Hana answered it rather quickly, she hadn't seen any so it was unlikely they passed one, so that just meant looking for one in the area, thankfully it seemed Hana had the same Idea and she directed Dee Dee to go one way and she would go the other to search and Dee Dee nodded and gave a thumbs up as she headed in the direction Hana has suggested while keeping her eyes peeled for anything interesting. Dee Dee for her part headed down the road and looked around, and she was finding things, just nothing interesting or note worthy other then a few flowers growing through the concrete so she continued on, she found some more loose change though and a rebar pole that she picked up and used as a walking stick for now, though she doubted it would be much use as anything else at least the metal could be recycled later into something else with enough processing but thus far nothing of note. Though as she walked she found a few drains that could work, nothing large though so she continued on but made note of them "I see some drains that we might be able to slip through but nothing large enough to carry anything big through, I'll keep looking over here and let you know if I find anything" she then was about to send the message to Hana when she nearly fell into a massive pot hole. Lookin down it seemed to go a bit in and seemed it they would be able to walk into it. so she added to the message "I did find a large pothole we might be able to use... but I am not sure it will go down far enough or if it has a path that will lead in... but it's shaped in such a way that we COULD walk down it relatively easily... maybe even get the truck in there if we wanted to change it... but I wouldn't think it could get out easily..."Hana Sakuyuki |

Hana was having the same problem, finding ditches and drains that were too small. The manhole she walked past would be an easier way to get under the street, but there was no way they could carry anything up the ladder. She'd already had an unpleasant experience in a sewer, so she wasn't exactly in a rush to repeat that.

She stopped to read the latest message, smiling to herself. Hana quickly typed out a response, letting Dee Dee know to stay put. Pulling up the local map, she turned to head back down the street, towards Dee Dee's current position. Once arriving, she gave the hole a once over. "...wow, that is pretty big, huh?"

Hana stepped down onto the slope, to get a better look. "Ah, yeah, this is probably here on purpose then. I bet there's, like, monsters or something down there." She shook her head. "Anyone else exploring probably realized it was something Earth-chan set up and steered clear, without even knowing that building might be down there."

She considered the situation for a few moments. "...so, it seems likely that anything down there is still undisturbed. But, that means any monsters or traps or whatever are all still ready to go." Hana looked down at Dee Dee and shrugged. "It might be too risky for just the two of us. Your level is still a bit low, and I haven't turned in all my points yet either. We could wait and recruit someone else to help..."

Dee Dee waited to hear back from Hana as she looked over the hole she had found, it definitely looked like it would be easier to walk down into then it would be to get a truck down there, even looking at the bottom it was rather unlikely it would properly hold the truck so it's tires might dig into the soft looking ground, though parking it near the top would make pulling things out rather easy at least for the loading. Eventually she got a message back to stay put and she nodded a bit to herself as she took out a tomato and simply sat at the edge of the hole and nibbled away at it, keeping her eyes open in case a monster happened to find her. Eventually though she was joined by Hana who started to inspect the hole she had found and she finished off the Tomato as she hopped up onto her feet and nodded as the girl exclaimed to the size of the hole, it clearly was fairly large, though as Hana continued to talk about the hole and how it seemed like the slope was there on purpose Dee Dee thought about what Hana was saying, possibly monsters traps and more down there? made sense then that likely no one went down there, but that also meant that it was untouched so they could likely get a lot of things salvaged from there. And Hana seemed to reach the same conclusion that Dee Dee had silently come to, though granted Dee Dee was only speculating Hana sounded like she was talking from experience especially as she mentioned Dee Dee's level likely being to low, and it seemed Hana had points she could use to get stronger, well she was the more experienced of them so Dee Dee sent a message "I will go with your recommendation as you seem to be more knowledgeable about all this, unless you know someone we could call in to meet us here? other wise we would have to likely come back later when i am stronger and we have another person to try this place with" she sent the message and looked to Hana for her reply Hana Sakuyuki |

Hana retrieved her flashlight, shining it through the hole, although she couldn't see much. "Well...we could at least take a look. I have an ability that lets me teleport us both back to a Safe Zone. It just needs a few moments to charge up before it goes off." She clicked off the light, turning to face Dee Dee.

"So, if you think you're up for it, we can give it a shot. As long as you take it seriously, and be careful." She moved back to street level for a moment, looking back towards the empty lot to get her bearings. "...also we might have to walk back here from town to get the truck, if that happens. So, uh, keep that in mind..."

The teen then pulled up a system menu and began typing away at it. "I'll go ahead and put up a notice about what I've found, where other people interested in this kinda stuff might see it. Maybe one of them will come help us out!" Hana smiled at the thought.

Dee Dee listened to Hana's suggestion, checking it out would be a good thing, especially if Hana could get them out of there if things went badly, though the fact it needed a moment to charge up was a bit of a worry, but she had BombDee and Kramer with her so they could likely deal with anything trying to get at them at least for a bit if she needed to charge their escape route, the fact that they could find some good salvage was a bonus so there was always that bonus in it, but the risks involved were highly unknown especially with clearly no one having ventured down before. Well it seems the choice was hers, but that made sense Hana sounded like she had been doing this for a while and so she was likely leaving it to the rookie Dee Dee to decide to chance something, all in all though she also said she wasn't sure the two of them alone could handle it, and she would have to take that into account, as again, Hana seemed to be more experienced in all this. As she thought Hana continued that if they did explore and they had to leave using her escape they would have to walk all the way back here from town to retrieve the truck so adding that into the situation, venturing in would be rather a large overall loss of time if they ended up having to use her escape to get out, Hana was also the only one with a light.. well technically Dee Dee could use her Aura ball as a light but it wasn't the brightest thing. So lighting down there would also be an issue. Hana then mentioned she was gonna put it up on some notice and Dee Dee nodded as she continued to think about what to do, they could definitely try it if they got at least one more person at least... maybe.. she honestly didn't know so she popped open her own system and sent Hana a message "How many people do you think we would need? Also where can I get a flashlight like that? From the store I would guess?" she asked as she sent the message and thought about going in. Hana Sakuyuki |

Hana finished sending the recruitment message, closing that floating window to look at the one containing Dee Dee's typing. "Well, the system tends to give you a bonus with three or four people. It even gave me a skill related to that recently." At the other question, she pulled up her inventory screen again to search. "Oh, one sec."

Different types of flashlights began to appear in her hand, as she held the various models out towards Dee Dee. "There's one you can put on a hat or helmet. One you can clip onto your shirt or belt, or a pocket or something." And then a couple of fairly normal flashlights, of various shapes and sizes. "...uh, I grabbed a bunch from some electronics stores while searching for CDs and stuff."

"You can take a few extra if your...friends...need them." Hana honestly wasn't sure how summoned creatures worked. The shadow she could command didn't have any sort of personality, and it didn't stick around for very long. Once the selection had been made and the excess items returned to storage, Hana clipped one flashlight to her jacket and held another, the original one she'd withdrawn, in her hand. There wasn't much else they could do to prepare. At least she didn't have to go into an actual sewer this time.
