Nikolas sat at the same table that he had a few day ago. He was due to leave Union Central any day now. He was just waiting for a few more sales to close and he’ll be packing his bags and headed back to Ender’s. It had been too long since he left that mysterious place. Thankfully, Emir had been able to come see him since he left. He knew that Emir headed back to Ender’s. He had some ambition. Nikolas found the island mysterious and cool, but he was also not the type that wanted to be in the middle of a fight all the time. In fact, he had enjoyed staying here in Union. Too bad his subclass encouraged him to be out of Safe Zones.

Yet another path leading nowhere, his home was still locked off and he hadn't yet managed to find any gates to it. If his resolve had been weaker he might have been angry about it but that wouldn't help the situation, he simply had to continue searching. Things had given him hope however, he had met people that would surely assist him if he asked and could possibly be used to absorb blows if need be. He felt something that might have been guilt but he supressed it quickly and shook those thoughts free from his head. He had found himself here in Unison Central however, it was the cloest safe zone that he could start hunting from.[break][break]
Dantalion took a moment to pause and reach into his pocket, pulling out a strange tattered fragment of cloth. Something that might once have been a banner but now done seemingly nothing. He looked at it for a few moments, studying the symbol on it. It had a certain draw to him, it made him think of the Bastion. He sighed softly and put the fragment away before letting his thoughts return to the present and actually taking in his surroundings. Here nothing could attack him even if they wanted to so he wasn't worried about constantly watching his back. There were people milling around but honestly not many, there wasn't really many people left in the world it seemed.[break][break]
As he was looking around he realised there was someone he actually recognised here which was interesting. Tali chuckled quietly before walking over to the table and taking a look across everything that was available. "Quite done with murdering spiders, my friend?" He said with a small smile. Nothing on the table really interested him, though he did make sure to look at them all fairly closely. "If you're here, I imagine you're not having much luck with your family search either?" It was harder putting his lack of progress into words but he knew Nikolas understood the feeling.

Then he noticed the little sign about a special deal and pointed it out after making sure Nikolas was done talking, he wouldn't want to be rude after all. "What's the deal you're offering?"

He had not been there too long before a familiar face approached him. Nikolas, at the moment, was doodling in his sketchbook. His eyes were mesmerized by the river of colors on his page. They moved with the slightest touch of his pen. The man’s voice broke his trance, prompting him to look up. "Oh, hey! It’s been a minute hasn’t it, Dantalion?" He smiled. Nikolas stood up and reached out his hand to the girl. "How are you, friend?" It had been a few months since the two of them had teamed up in those nasty sewers. It was good to see the man was doing well. His abilities seemed like they were well suited for this new world, even back then.

“Ah, no. I haven’t found them yet. Somebody told me though that not everybody’s tutorial is ran at the same time and some people might be in some limbo state. I’m holding on to my faith that they are just waiting to go through their tutorials rather than the alternative.” His smile faded slightly as the tone of his voice also dropped in cheer. It was unfortunate that he had not been able to find them yet. While he was in Europe, he had hoped they might show back up but up until now that was not the case. “What brings you here? Have you found anybody from your previous life around?” He inquired genuinely intrigued. Dantalion seemed like the type that had some sort of secret past. Being in boot camp to prepare for the end of days was a red flag if there ever was one but it seemed that it ended up working in his favor. Nik only had his luck to rely on.

He let out a soft hum that could have been commiseration, he knew what it was like to hit dead ends. He put the little sign down and shook Nik's hand before he took a small camping stool out of his inventory and snapped it open so that he could sit on it in front of Nikolas' stand. He rested his elbows on his knees and his chin on his fist. "It has indeed, my friend, I call it the divine's own blessing that I haven't had to go hunting around in any more sewers, at least for now. Luck can only hold out for so long." He chuckled softly. Knowing that not everyone loaded in at the same time was a good thing, it meant there was more of a chance for his commune to return.[break][break]
"I'm afraid I haven't found any of the Bastion either. I'm still searching as best as I can but my home is still locked off so I haven't been able to travel there. It feels strange to even try and move on foot and just... Not being able to find my way. The world is very different now." He gave a shrug at that though it bothered him far more than he let on, even if he had the supplies and the will, which he did, he couldn't even walk to his old home, the new laws of the world simply would not allow him. Perhaps this is what happened when evil ruled. "What about you, what have you been doing recently?"[break][break]
"I'm mostly here because I'm still doing missions and hunting for more tools to help me survive. I need to enhance my arsenal just a little bit. My weapons are fine but I've not been lucky enough to find any decent armour so far." He reached up and gently tapped some of the strange wispy black material that sat around his upper body like a mantle. "This doesn't offer any full protection, it just makes me far harder to notice. Do you have anything that could help me on that front?" He had already looked at the items on the table but perhaps there was some secret inventory he wasn't aware of, or perhaps this deal he had a sign for would hlep him in some way.

It was weird, he was starting to slip into an almost acceptance that he needed to move on with his life. In fact, he already had started. Emir and him kept in contact. Marius and him were in the process of creating a guild, he just needed to figure out some of the more finer details. But that would come with time. [break][break] “Ah! Well, maybe I can help you out with that? I’ve got some pieces here you can look at if you like.” He said motioning to the table. I think the only thing on my table that might be worth it would be that Red Hot Harness. But, I’m not sure you’d like to replace this cloak with that. “ He said with a chuckle. “Say, do you have any items you think might pair well with this? I’ve got a way to get you something that might help you out a bit.”

Dantalion pursed his lips as the two items were brought out to him and he read the little item boxes that came with him. On the one hand, any defensive item was good and in the war against demons shame was a useless thing to be tossed aside but... He still had some of his dignity left. His mind flashed to thinking about meeting members of the Bastion, or his own blood relatives, wearing one of these items and the relentless mocking he would endure from it. It would be good natured but he knew it would follow him even into the new utopian world they would be creating. Those thoughts immediately put him off of the items.

He let himself return to the real world and shook his head slightly. "I'm afraid neither of those items would be too useful for me." He gave a soft chuckle before the other man mentioned about pairing items. With that Dantalion paused for a moment before pulling two things from his inventory. The first was a strange scrap of a torn and faded banner, the other was a worn coin with a faded bust of what appeared to be a general on it. "I was recently given these by the Voice of the World, they do not seem to have any immediate effects."

He looked at the information for them again before giving a bit of a shrug. "It says they can be used for crafting but I'm not sure what use they would have when crafting normally? I can't find a way to fuse them together into anything useful. If you have some kind of trick to it I'd be happy to hear it. I do remember talking to a girl called Vanilla and she could apparently enchant things, so perhaps it requires a specific class ability to be able to use it?" He slid them across the table for Nikolas to look at before going back to a more resting state, eager to hear if there was a secret trick that he could make use of later.

Nikolas looked over the coin and the small bit of fabric that he was given. In his head, he could easily see a scrap of fabric and his cloak doing well together. It was the coin that he wasn’t sure about. Still, it seemed that maybe there was some synergy between them. The coin appeared to be Roman or something akin to that. The shotty piece of cloth also seemed to have some importance to it. The symbol on the front was a tower with a flame on it. Based on the shape and size, he guessed maybe this was a banner for some army or military. “I think we can do something with these. Let me gather my things and we can go to my place. It’s not far from here.”

Nikolas started to place his items away into his inventory. “I’ve got a method with my class as well. Well, not my main class my sub-class. I’ve been trying to keep things a bit under the radar for the moment but I don’t mind telling you. You’ve saved my life before.” He gave the man a smile. Once everything was put up he was motioning for Dantalion to follow him. “You see, there is a special place in this world called the Forge. It basically lets you combine items into something new. Well, it’s not really easy to access for most. My new class lets me get into there though and I think we can make something great for you.” The pair approached his apartment door. Nikolas placed his hand of the knob and already summoned the Forge. Upon opening the door, the two would be transported to the mythical realm. “Okay, you’re gonna give me these items and I’ll give it to the forge master. She’ll make something neat I’m sure!”

So it would seem that there were some strange places that were kept secret from normal people. The thought of that worried Dantalion somewhat as it meant there was a possibility for entire places to be kept away from him, places that might hold the people he was looking for. Luckily making friends was actually going to help him out a lot this time considering what Nikolas just said that he could do. Although there were always trade offs with this sort of thing, if he wanted to make use of it again then he would likely have to give some kind of payment for it.

"I appreciate your assistance, my friend. This world is unkind but together we might just be able to cleanse it and usher in a new era." He smiled and nodded as he followed along behind the other man. "A subclass sounds interesting, I don't believe there are many of them around. Perhaps I will go and try and gain one myself." He chuckled quietly and gave a shrug. Having more power certainly wouldn't be a bad thing, he knew the Voice had been giving him more abilities on occasion and his natural strength was growing rapidly, far beyond human norms. This new world was strange.

Once they entered the forge, Dantalion thought upon going on guard and summoning a weapon, they certainly weren't in the city anymore. However he stopped and shook his head. If he was to get into a fight here he wasn't even sure how to get out but it had to be done, Nikolas didn't seem the type to try and assassinate him here. Once he had calmed himself down a bit he let out a sigh and reached into his inventory, noticing a few items that he was sure hadn't been there previously but they would certainly make a better fusion than his original plan. He put the banner scrap and the coin away and instead drew forth a suit of armour that he hadn't yet worn and on top of them, a strange red rock. He handed the items over to Nik alongside his cloak and stepped back, crossing his arms over his chest to see what would happen. "I know it's not the original idea but try it with those instead, I've got... A good feeling about it." He murmured.
