sebastian nubiaWhen Tommy was attacked, he jumped back at his full speed and tumbled. His strategy was to hang back, as he was a long-range user and wouldn't engage in close combat unless necessary. This wasn't cowardice, but rather a way to play to his strengths and ensure the success of every mission or assignment he was a part of, or at least to come back alive. Sebastian was the first to engage, for which Tommy was thankful. However, the fast-moving blur that shocked Tommy to his core was none other than Nubia. Nubia was fast, able to move at an abnormal speed that put her above anything Tommy had experienced before. She made quick work of one of the imps, both of them showcasing their growth from before.
"Everyone got an upgrade, huh?"
Tommy was thankful for his contract with Nubia, and he also knew how the scouting radar worked. He figured that the X marks were the enemies that were approaching, but it could have very well been places of interest for them to check out. Maybe that assessment was too complicated. "Thanks, guys. I almost ended up on the menu for an unassuming bath demon. Hopefully, that's the last of the surprises for the time being..." Tommy said this casually as he fired off a whimsical shape at the head of the injured imp to finish it off. There was no need to forgive a monster that was trying to kill him. With that, he chatted some more in the party chat. "Now that I think about it, I do recall buying a helmet from a man named Oliver that was capable of allowing the wearer to survive in all kinds of terrains. I don't know how he manages to get his items or what he does to obtain them, but I remember the name 'Oliver' for the trade request. We only did business once, but if he's the same person, his travels may have brought him to a place that takes up most of his time. Either that or... like how it mimics real life... the jealousy of others made him run into 'not so gracious customers,' if you catch my drift."
Tommy was realistic; the man had a power that could be valuable to people. He also knew better than to assume that he was the only ranker. There could be another group just like this one that was traversing the world with bad intentions.
"What the heck is going on? Did Hana just go AFK?"
Turning around, Tommy frowned from beneath his mask. "Depending on the circumstances, she could time out and leave the party, which means we would lose the bonuses. There is also the chance that the power that she mentioned that can escape dungeons was used, all by herself. Let's face it, she owes us nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if we were betrayed for some unknown reason."As Tommy continued to think about Hana's disappearance, he couldn't help but wonder if their group was being targeted by someone with ill intentions. He knew that he couldn't let his guard down, and that they needed to be prepared for anything that might come their way. Despite the danger, Tommy was determined to stick to his strengths and ensure the success of every mission or assignment he was a part of, no matter what.
Tommy checked his equipment, making sure everything was in order. He needed to be prepared for anything, especially since they were already down a member. He wondered if he should suggest splitting up to cover more ground, but then thought it might be too risky, especially with Hana's disappearance. They all needed to stick together and keep a close eye on each other.
"Last chance to turn back, or should we finish what we started here?"

"H-hey, hey! I'm not supposed to be over here!" Hana protested loudly as she was half-tossed, half-shoved from devil to devil across the other side of the bathhouse. The Men's side, much to her embarrassment. The blushing musician was left a bit dizzy by the whirlwind trip through some sort of locker room, ending in the main bathing area for the Men's half of the establishment.

Staggering for a moment as she was finally let free, the disoriented teen reached for her guitar...and found it missing. "What? Where's...why am I dressed like this?" Hana was suddenly wearing some sort of robe, and holding...a wooden bucket? Presumably to poor water over someone. Someone...like the large devil seated nearby, wearing nothing but a towel while smoking a comically large cigar.

Tensing up, Hana prepared to run, but...couldn't seem to move. Glancing around, looking over the heads of the smaller devils surrounding her, she quickly realized why. Reflected in one of the nearby mirrors was a status message floating above her head: [Imp]. Slightly below that were a new pair of bright red horns.

"Oh I hate this mission." Hana grumbled to herself, temporarily held in place without access to any of her items or abilities, until something disrupted the scene being played out on this side of the bathhouse. At least none of the skills she'd already used seemed to have been shut off, as she could see all of her stats remained boosted.

"Wtf? We can go AFK?" he asked, getting a bad feeling. If she ends up timing out then we'll assess things then." the teen responded back as he opened his screen and checked his stats. Nubia shrugged at Sebastian's words, she didn't know what was going on, she didn't know if someone could go AFK or not, honestly, all of this was just fucking weird. Although she supposed there was a first time for everything. Though she found herself glancing over to make sure everyone was safe.[break][break]
Nubia still wasn't sure just what had happened to Hana then Sebastian stated that he had figured out where the girl had gone, and that's when she saw a mission prompt come up, her eyes went wild as she was startled, curious as to just what the hell was going on she read the mission prompt as she neared the door Sebastian had found.[break][break]
"Battle through the rooms until you get to the boss while trying to distinguish friend from foe." Is what the words read.[break][break]
"Well, shit. I have no idea what this means but I'm guessing we keep going forward for now," she said through the chat. "Hopefully we stumble upon, Hana on the way." Nubia made sure not to mention the "if she's still alive" portion that she kept in her mind. Though such a thought plagued her mind with a bit of fear and caution. "I'm fine with that," she said with a smile, moving to the frontlines instead of to the side of Sebastian, after all, she was faster it only made sense for her to be in the front in case anything was to happen. She readied her blade and made sure she was ready to strike if need be.[break][break]

Tommy wasn't happy about it, but if neither of the others was as worried as he was, continuing with something that seemed meaningless was pointless. Instead of pressing the issue, he felt that rewarding their bravery was more important than suspecting them of being too ambitious when coincidental things occurred. It's natural for individuals to have different opinions and ideas. However, it's important to consider all perspectives and come to a consensus that benefits everyone. In this case, Tommy had to put his concerns aside for the greater good. It takes a lot of courage to change your mind or abandon your initial plan, but doing so can lead to unexpected opportunities and successes.
"What have the scouts reported so far? Do you know the location of the next targets?"Tommy didn't know how Sebastian's sensory technique worked, but it was incredibly useful in a situation like this. When they reached the room that seemed to have traces of when they lost contact with Hana, Tommy nodded at the idea of an ambush. Communication and teamwork are crucial in situations like these. Knowing what to expect and where to expect it can make all the difference in the world. When everyone is on the same page, the chances of success are much higher. "I didn't think the creatures were intelligent, but if they are willing to take hostages and the system registers it as AFK for the player, at least one mystery of this place could be solved."

As the ambushing devil was defeated, it vanished in a puff of sulphureous smoke, leaving behind an empty bathrobe. And one bright red eye that lazily rolled away from the pile of clothing. It looked almost artificial, more mineral than anything organic. Although it did give off a faint warmth.

While the hastily provided map had marked what were likely two hostiles in the first room on the Women's side, the Men's side had gone unexplored. Although that was definitely where all the commotion had come from. There were probably devils there to guard the locker room on the other side of the curtain as well. But they'd definitely know to expect more intruders.

Meanwhile, since she could at least move her hands, Hana was keeping busy investigating the system menu. All of her abilities and skills had been replaced with things like [Imp Press] and [Imp Lie]. None of them seemed especially useful in this situation. The teen wasn't even sure she'd be allowed to use them on the devils...who still had her more or less surrounded. At least they all seemed to be ignoring her and going about their bath-related business.

Busy staring at the popup in front of her face, Hana seemed oblivious to the bright red shade her skin was turning, working downwards from those new horns. She didn't notice until it reached her hands, pausing while poking at a menu, before looking over her arms in confusion. Another glance at the room-spanning mirror confirmed that she was steadily being repainted to match the various devils inhabiting the bathhouse.

Nubia glanced around the bathhouse, her shirt was beginning to cling to her skin due to all the moisture, and maybe it was because of her stats but the heat didn't seem to bother her as much as of yet, however, that did nothing to keep from feeling sweaty gross thanks to the humidity. She sighed as she stood by the door, she crouched slightly hand on her hilt as she nodded her head with each number that was counted down on his finger to the third. She waited as Sebastian shot out silk orbs that burst into spider webs that shot all around, they were cutting up the ground and other imps inside. [break][break]
She rushed forward dodging around the silk threads and went for an Imp, but just as she brought her grip down tighter to draw her blade, the impish creature in front of her stood short with features that looked strikingly like Hana's. Or so she thought, honestly she wasn't sure but either way she decided to pivot from one foot to the other to be a moving target, to dodge if need be. "Are you Hana?" she asked bluntly, her eyes narrowing into slits.

Tommy strode forward with his signature gait as the two physically stronger members of the group rushed ahead to subdue the imp-like creatures. As they did, Tommy took a look around and his eyes settled on a creature that bore a striking resemblance to Hana, which surprised him. He remained mostly silent, contemplating what to do in this situation. "It's probably her. Don't attack her, Nubia. If anything, this could be the result of a status effect that converts one of the players into a monster in the area or some sort of infection. I doubt this was her choice, but if I may make a suggestion?"Tommy whimsically launched a butterfly to kill one of the demonic imps that tried to resist. "Our only choice now is to eliminate everything in here and get out. If that doesn't change her status, we'll have to defeat the secret boss at this stage. We're on a timer because if Hana isn't acting feral or hostile, we'll have to rely on monster drops to leave something like an antidote or a status-clearing effect that's specific to this stage for us to use on her. However, this is all speculation. After we clear the room, everyone should check their inventory. Hana might not be able to do it herself if the system prevents her from attacking the imps, because she would have already been fighting before we got here if that were the case."
It was detective work based on hypotheticals, but what else could Tommy do? He had to do something; there's always more to a stage than what's initially presented. "It could be linked to her class being changed temporarily as well. Shes missing her instrument."

Hana's attention snapped to the door as someone kicked it in, launching threads that began to ricochet around the room, exploding into webs. That were apparently rather sharp, as she saw firsthand when one of the attendant devils next to her had his bathrobe (and body) sliced into. She winced at the sight, still only able to slightly lean aside, holding up her bucket to protect from any blood splatters.

After that reflexive move, Hana lowered the wooden item again...only to raise it protectively a moment later, as something darted towards her. "H-hey, stop, I can't move!" She cautiously peeked over the edge of the bucket, before sighing in relief as she recognized Nubia. "Miss Bee! It's me! Uh, um, help!?" Hana wasn't sure what else to suggest, still rooted in place.

While jeweled eyes tumbled where various lesser devils fell and disappeared in puffs of smoke, the remaining enemies began to retreat towards the rear of the room. The sides were lined with showers, while at the back there was one large tub that seemed to be emitting the massive amounts of steam they'd encountered. Although at this range, they could see the thicker, darker smoke mixing into it, puffing out of the one larger devil's cartoonishly oversized cigar.

Once he kicked down the door, Sebastian was glad that he had taken the few seconds to assess the room before launching his attack otherwise, things could have gone very badly.[break][break]
There were a total of 8 bodies in the room; not counting them, and only 7 of them were the imps that they had been sent here to deal with although he couldn't really see much of the one in the back of the room. The real issue was that Hana seemed to have been transformed into some imp/human hybrid and cowering behind a wash bucket.[break][break]
"Can she not activate any of her skills? Can this happen to each of us or can only one of us be affected at a time?" the silver-haired teen thought, mind racing at the different possibilities even as his web sliced into the bodies of 2 of the imps, killing them as it hacked off limbs and left them to bleed out.[break][break]
This sent the 3 remaining imps retreating to the back of the room, toward what he assumed to be the boss though this allowed the 4 intruders to regroup as well.[break][break]
"That's fine with me though That big guy in the back seems like he'll be a bit annoying. Probably waiting to do a dramatic reveal or some other dumb shit." Sebastian stated aloud, taunting the big guy to reveal himself.[break][break]
He ended up getting his wish though not in the way he thought as two imps leaped out from the destroyed door frame and attempted to attack Enigma. A quick flick of his fingers rearranged his torn tapestry so that the creatures would be torn apart running head first.

Nubia's sword wavered not in her hand, but in her mind as Enigma's words mused through her thoughts. Though ultimately she found herself back peddling moving to put herself at an angle but closer to Enigma. If this was some infection or something as he said, she didn't want to be affected by it. She glanced around noticing the jeweled eyes tumbling to the ground from the remains of the small devils. Her eyes gleamed with excitement as the prospect of money came to mind but she refocused her attention back on Hana, watching as the small Imp girl and her bucket could no longer move it seemed, then a list of creatures popped up as Enigma was speaking, his detective skills at work. Nubia breathed a sigh of relief, letting her head reel back as she then followed it with a quick laugh. Her shoulders bounced and a sharp gleam could be seen from a smile that etched itself onto her face. As she finished listening to Enigma's words, his quick observation and deduction skills were a great asset, and her favorite part of it was that she could let loose on more of these annoying ass imps. What need was there to concern herself anymore with what has happened, what was going on, when she could just indulge in the simple act of killing? [break][break]
"So what your saying is, we just have to kill our way out of here, and leave Hana be for the moment while keeping an eye on her?" Nubia said, crouching her hand on her blade as she moved her legs into a running position. [break][break]
Her eyes watched as Sebastian's webs moved to intercept the imps that had come charging at Engima from the other rooms. She didn't concern herself with them and instead shouted at the imps in the distance. She sheathed her Katana at her waist and then used that free hand to grasp onto her fuzzy pink whip placed at her side. She darted forward, contempt moving toward the imps at the rear. With a quick flick of her risk and a firm grip, Nubia let the whip fly. [break][break]
Three quick cracks of the whip could be heard ringing out, and each crack and accompanying spray of blood splattered against the tile floors. Three enemies had been struck, three injured, and pushed back into to walls where they bounced off falling to the ground, limbs missing and torn. [break][break]
Two were dead one still alive until she put her foot down on its skull. Nubia smiled as that was three more down, now there were just the others who were so kind as to group themselves in the corner. "Pigs to the slaughter," she mused a warm smirk painted upon her face as she shook the imp remains from her boots; the fur tainted with a dark red.[break][break]

Enigma was a skilled fighter, but he knew his importance to the team was not just in his ability to dodge attacks. He was the problem-solver, the one who could analyze the situation and come up with alternative solutions to the problems they faced in their missions. As he fought alongside Sebastian and Nubia, he saw how their different skills and abilities complemented each other. Nubia was quick and agile, like a master swordsman with all the acrobatics in the world. She could move so fast that no one could catch her, let alone follow her. Sebastian, on the other hand, had a different set of skills. They were just as important, but in a different way. Together, the three of them made a formidable team, even with Hana's current condition as well with her useful buffs. They worked together seamlessly, taking on the demonic creatures that stood in their way. Enigma watched as they fought, his mind constantly working, always analyzing the situation to see if there was a better way to approach it. He knew that their success depended on their ability to work together, to communicate effectively and to trust each other completely. As they battled on, Enigma monitored the quest, watching for any changes that might indicate they were making progress.
"I'm going to go ahead and check the bodies for the imp purity and the eyes," he said. "Try to keep the heads and the midsections intact. It'll make it a lot easier if you don't destroy those bits, especially the eyes."
As he collected the eyes of the fallen creatures, Enigma knew that they were getting closer to their goal. They had made significant progress, and he could feel it in his bones. It was only a matter of time now, he thought to himself. As long as they kept up this pace and continued to lay waste to the demonic creatures, they were bound to attract some attention. The floating screen automatically updated as the others defeated the last few lesser devils, their bodies disappearing in a puff of smoke, jeweled eyes landing in the piles of clothing left behind. As Enigma began rooting through the robes left behind near the entrance to the room, the counter continued to update. Meanwhile, the one creature left behind began to laboriously shift to its feet, the water level in the steamy tub lowering as the greater devil's mass was removed.

The strange bottle Enigma had found seemed to be the Imp Purity, if the updated menu was accurate. It had an atomizer spray top, with some sort of clear liquid sloshing around inside. Besides the product's name, the label advertised it "Kills 99.9% of Impness Causing Germs" and was "Safe to use around pets and small children."

Of course, it also had several paragraphs of fine print and warnings, like "Keep away from eyes, ears and mouth; not for human consumption" and "This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer." It was probably fine, right?

Mon Dot 665 is a robot manufactured in Hell itself! The robot is a slender figure with red and black metals coating the body. While there is a humanoid appearance to the robot, there are no familiar facial expressions or anything humanizing about it. The robot was sent to this world to kill and cause havoc. It will be aggressive with its quick movements and powerful burst damage. [break][break] [basic] attacks - 1 rank [PWR][break][break] Demon Manufactured - The robot's passive ability. This allows it to have its [DEF] be treated as +1 rank than normal when met with melee blows or abilities involving fire or darkness. This does cause the robot to take +1 rank in damage from holy abilities. [break][break] Hellfire Rockets - The robotic devil will launch a series of a dozen rockets from its body. These rockets will hone in on any target it desires within a 20-meter radius. These rockets move at its [SPD] and will deal its [PWR] to an area of roughly 2 meters. Has a three-post cooldown. [break][break] Rocket Boots - For a short moment, the robot will gain the ability to fly! This will allow it to fly at its [SPD] for three posts before a three-post cooldown. [break][break] Anchor Armor - The robot will pick one of the Anchor typings that are found in its prey. During the next two posts, abilities using that anchor type will be lowered by 2 ranks when coming in contact with the robot. This has a six-post cooldown after it is used. [break][break] EMP - The robot will cause a massive explosion of energy. This causes the monster's [MAGI] stat in damage to all those within 10 meters. All people within 20 meters who have lower [DEF] than the robot's [PWR] will have all their abilities and items currently active to go on cooldown. Any abilities that were already on cooldown will have their cooldowns increased by +1 post per rank the difference in the stats was. This has a seven-post cooldown.
