As he was sipping on the beverage, the sound of a car’s horn shrieking caused him to shift his attention to the end of the block. The lights of the truck and the other cars glared down at him causing him to squint and lift the bag holding his late-night snacks up to try and avoid it. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up as a cold breeze rolled off his back. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he noticed he was no longer standing on the street corner but instead in some dark room. What was going on? Before he was able to call out for assistance, a screen appeared before his face. His eyes blinked for a moment before he began to read. And each of those class options felt somehow inspired by the game as well. I don't know whether to be excited at the possibility of having gun heels or upset I've been so accurately profiled. Skye took a moment to mull over before reaching out to select Ammo Witch Excited. While Nikolas couldn’t really see anybody in the adjacent cells, he had to assume the person was a prisoner like him. Nikolas didn’t even think that drawing attention to the guards would cause issues. In his mind, he had done nothing wrong. He was just out to grab a snack and drink before returning to his new painting. W..what? You think that they might try to hurt us?” He looked around a bit at the cell to see if maybe, just maybe, there was a way to open the gate without the aid of a key. That was when the second voice called out. He didn’t even have time to process what they said before a loud bang rang throughout the enclosed space. Instinctively, Nikolas reached up, covering his ears and shutting his eyes as a cloud of dust settled throughout the prison space. As he opened back up, he heard the female’s voice once again. She asked if they needed help in escaping. While Nikolas was eager to get out of here, he was a bit wary on the method to do so. “Ahh.. maybe? Is there a key or something else you can use? “ Before the party could really do much else, the sound of several voices could be heard coming down the stairs. “I swear I heard something down here.” “You don’t think they could escape could you?” “How could a bunch of useless humans escape? Our Mistress is the one that built those cells, you don’t doubt her strength do you?” “I never questioned our Mistress but those filthy humans have been seen out in the city with powers. It is possible this lot has some too.”While there seemed to be a large metal door and a flight of stairs that separated the two parties, their voices echoed off the brick and were as clear as day. Nikolas’ eyes widened with fear. Who were these people and why did they seem to be something not human? “Please, help me out! Reviewing information from the system. He was not a fan of being trapped so would have gotten out eventually. If it was not for the reviewing he would have already been trying to bust out.
The loud bang from the sound of Skye breaking out. Caught his attention outside the bar for a moment before he went back to reading. “I should be good. These bars are really none existent to me.” He replied after the mysterious panic. The sounds of voices and movement could be heard.
Emir was pretty much done reading. He understood the gist of his class. It was built on evasion, something he was ironically used to. When the 3rd started to panic even more Emir felt a bit annoyed. “Can you let him out? I also suggest we try working together.” Emir was not big on video games growing up; he was not really allowed to play them. When he gained his freedom he brought out a gamestop to use as a playroom. It allowed him to understand some things. He used the system to send out a part invite. “Let’s do this.”

Still, tears wouldn’t help in this sort of situation, only action did. He nodded to the girl and stood up. Stepping over the broken bars, he turned his attention toward the voices coming from behind the large door at the end of the dungeon. A small screen popped up again before him to ask him to join Emir’s party. He quickly accepted and then felt a connection to the two. A gold light seemed to pulse from Nikolas and radiate with his two new party members. That was when a golden screen appeared. Passive ability, Veneration, has been activated. All party members please select [1x] core stat to buff for the duration of the party invite. While Nikolas was not a part of the selection for the buff, Skye and Emir were. Was this his role? The supporter of the group? ” How did you all see your abilities? Is there some sort of menu?” By saying the word menu, the screen shows all of Nikolas’ information and skills. He was a bit dumbfounded. “Wow, so I do have some cool attack skills too huh?” He muttered to himself as he read. It seemed his class was pretty well-rounded. His core ability was quite interesting though. The ability to not only fire off a golden ball of light but also copy the skills of those that he is around. That would likely come in very handy. By the time he was done reading, the door had been busted open and three vampires were standing there snarling at the three escapees. “I told you I heard them. Screw keepign them alive for food, end these suckers' lives and we’ll collect more later.” Nikolas stood behind Skye but held his hand out making a motion like a gun. Within a second, a golden ball of light shot out and slammed right into the chest of the vampire that initiated the conflict. While it did not immediately kill him, it did cause him to stammer backward as a tuff of smoke could be seen on his chest. It was a shame he hesitated again after the prompt for the system. Emir was a fast reader but even he needed to see what the skill from the one called Nikolas would do for him. Looking at the points he threw them all into speed.
“Yep. I was coming.” Emir was tired of being trapped and missing out. He activated his own skill to get out. The tendrils of darkness wrapped around him as he sunk into the ground. It was an odd sensation. To him the world was in an odd shade; he could tell where he was even if he was not physically all there. Emir believed if he had to explain it to someone they may eventually go mad. He moved underneath the door physically but through it from his perspective. It all happened very quickly. He was in the cell till he was not. Standing right next to Nikolas.
“Whoa! You have offensive stuff as well. That is pretty boss. I knock em down. You two should try to keep them down and run. Wasting time in a fire fight will only make us all tired. Escaping should be our main priority.”
That was the only warning Emir gave out before springing into action. He traveled behind the last vampire as quickly as he could. He was lucky their attention was more on the one that blasted them. Emir kicked out with a front snap kick in a bid to knock em over. Years of martial arts training going into practice. It worked to knock the two vamps into the injured one like dominoes. “Come on! Quickly into the hall!”

All he was worried about was getting the fuck out of this damn dungeon. Skye was powerful, there was no doubt there. Her skills were lethal and packed quite a punch. It seemed that she would be the best to lead this rag tag team. Emir was able to move somehow through the bars and even the vampires themselves. Would the three of them combined really be able to escape? As the two vampires that were injured tried to recoup, Nikolas fired off his golden bolt at the mouthy vampire and watched as the creature seemed to burst away into nothing but pixels. That was when a small blue box appeared before him. You have killed a Minor Vampire. You’ve collected 5 Points So killing these people gave you points? Like experience points? He had so many questions but knew right now was not the time to ask. The other two vampires were both on the ground for the moment. They were trying to recoup but the trio had already passed them up and ran into the stairway. As they left the room, Nikolas quickly shut the door behind them, leaving the other two trapped down there. ”Okay, now what do we do?” He asked the other two as they seemed more incline to lead that pack than he was. I guess that makes you the Hatter.” He did not verbally add in the part that it fits because she seemed bat**** crazy. He knew it was implied. He let the two play around with the vampires in question. Emir wanted to focus on the hall and see if he could spot anymore approaching.
It did not take long for the hatter to pass him. Emir followed behind her letting Nikolas bring up the rear. “We start to run and stay on the move now.” Emir was gonna pick up speed and lead till he thought about it. “Since you both have offensive moves one of you should take the lead. I can guard our backs and still keep up. We can save energy by injuring, remember it keeps the others behind to tend to the wounded. I will lead if needed but we have to move.”
It was funny that Emir was showing talent in an odd way. Well not talent in this case but habit. He has been kidnapped enough to write a book on it. Even now he could have thrown out several strategies to increase his odds of survival. Only reason he did not just leave was because it was more fun to have people with him. An unknown land at the moment needed an adequate amount of meat shields. If they died off he could guarantee he survived at least.

If he was going to play decoy or anything, he would need the bonus. With that out of the way, he pressed forward. He pointed his finger in a gunlike position and started to move up the steps. While the vampires below could be heard moaning and cursing them, it was the sound above that made his heartbeat. It sounded as if scores of people were running about. As they came to another large iron door, Nikolas looked back at the group and gave them a worried look. A downright shame that his ability just had to start going on cooldown. At the moment Emir was not able to escape with his desert night. He was not gonna bring it up to the party as it would only serve as a distraction. Hopefully the extra magic could help.
“Ready when you are. Remember to use your skills to hamper. The goal is to escape. As long as we do not know how many enemies are present we are at a disadvantage in a battle.”
That was the only warning he could give. Repeating himself like a broken record. He was nervous. Even he could hear the sounds of movement behind the large iron door. They were captured and were forced to play rabbit. The danger was exhilarating but man was all the cardio annoying. Emir was lucky to be in the best shape money could buy. It did not mean the ex hedge fund manager enjoyed running.
“Knees to chest people.” Emir would run through the door with everyone else. It looked like the inside of a bird rookery, large poles were buried into the ground, the edge of the poles holding various masses of bats. If they were vampires Emir was not intent on finding out. He was running as best as he could. Trying not to get completely winded in the process.

He had a good skill to ward off incoming threats due to its long reach and multiple targets but he feared it would be taxing to his stamina. It seemed that Emir was already wary of them running out before escaping. He would need to keep it in mind. His simple blast of light wasn’t too overwhelming in terms of energy cost but it wasn’t strong enough to flat-out kill a vampire. It was just strong enough to cause them to back the fuck off for a moment. “Right, knees to chest…” He muttered before placing his hand on the door. “Knees to chest, knees to chest…” He was working up the courage to open the door and bolt. He knew that there were more vampires. He could hear them scurrying about. How many, where they were, how they would react was all a gamble. Three, two, one…” He whispered before flinging the door open with all his might. Upon opening, Nikolas bolted making his way out the door they were in and into a small exterior hallway that seemed to be lining a courtyard of sorts. He started to run towards the large iron gate that stood on the other end of the yard. As he ran, he heard shouting and could feel the eyes of vampires starting to lock in on him. He slammed into the gate, tugging it and pulling only to notice a pale red screen appearing before him. NOTICE GATE IS LOCKED. FIND THE KEY TO UNLOCK “Fuck! It’s locked.” He turned around to look and find Emir and Skye but noticed as the trio ran, a heard of vampires were starting to make their way towards them. There had to be at least ten or more. The vampires stopped before clashing with the group and instead pinned them to the gate like trapped livestock. “Well, well, well. How did you three escape? The Mistress is away but Lord Marcus will be dealing with you lot. Come on, let’s get them to Marcus.” Before any of them could react, a cold voice rang out behind the cluster of vampires. “Marcus is already here you buffoon.” The group parted and a lean man with bright red hair started to walk between them. The man was pale and seemed to radiate an energy that the others couldn’t match. Nikolas wasn’t sure what to say but what he did know was that he was frightened. “Now then, you three seemed to be able to handle three of my men just fine. But how do you think you’ll fair against me? My Mistress will not be back until tomorrow, I’m sure she will understand if we got hungry by then.” His fangs poked beyond his lips as his curled them into a sinister smile. What else stood out was a single silver key dangling from his neck. Perhaps it was the kep to the gate? It seemed that Marcus was in the mood to finish them off here and now. What could they do? Nikolas gripped his fist and finally found some resolve. “We’re not dying here!” He held out his hand and before the trio a bright light appeared. A magical circle formed, shining bright on the vampires causing them all to hiss and stammer backwards. As they did so, Nikolas’ ability cause thirteen tentacles to emerge. They began to whip and strike at the crowd but mainly focused on Marcus. “Get the key! Its on his neck!” He shouted. He knew his ability wasn’t going to last long but hopefully one of the companions would be able to snatch it.
