Noelle hadn't watched a movie in... well she was not actually sure. It had definitely been a while, but why was it some old sappy romance film being played out onto a large building wall. Was this meant to be a system treat for people playing along with this random event that it had decided was a necessity to the general populace? It was practically paying people to climb the eiffel tower, so what was its aim in showing a 40 year old romance film? Was it getting its rocks off to this or something? They just didn't get it.

Laying on a hill near the back she would sit with her umbrella propped and sigh rather heavily at the happenings. The old world college student for climatology was slowly losing interest in the film as they began to look around for any interesting motions in the crowd. Her small drizzle of rain keeping people clear of her. Perhaps something interesting would happen in the crowd? Or it would approach her.

The air by Noelle had all grown all but stagnate as the former student sat on the grassy hill overlooking the film’s audience. Reeds of grass once swaying, now standing upright while an eerie silence had enveloped the area. Still the film continued to play on screen for the slowly gathering crowd. The black and white footage was a stunning contrast to the city of color that surrounded this small window into a glimpse of the past. The actors went about their performances, unabashed by this dissonance. Yet it lacked the attention of the very girl he had just arrived. Waterlogged in a slight drizzle that wet the blades of grass with a fabricated dew. Just as fast as Noelle had wished for something interesting to catch her eye, her desire was granted.
Above the umbrella wielding player was another portal. The very same kind that signaled the coming of another player, be it from fast traveling to another area or loading in from the tutorial area. This tear of reality would have text reading NOW LOADING in a thickened, almost electronic font as bit by bit, something was forming. A human by the obvious appearance. More specifically a female based on the “assets” it possessed. She loaded in from the bottom up, with black heels forming the starting point of a well dressed woman. Stocking clad legs formed underneath a flowing black designer dress that had bits and pieces worn and even torn in some places. Completing this was the visage of a french woman. Her stoic, uninterested gaze cast around her as she found herself moved from a previous location once again. Her load was finished and dropped her on the hill a short distance away from Noelle. Both figuratively and literally.
After recovering from the small drop and ruining her attire even further, she hissed in pain. "What is this? Another trial?" La Fey asked aloud with a noticeable french accent. Annoyance flows from her ruby clad lips like the fountains of the city that were in the streets of the fine city. A city that she had a change of heart with once she recognized where she was. "I suppose I’m home then. But what about-" La Fey’s gaze fell on Noelle. Legs shuffled, earrings slapped the side of her ear and soon enough, the sore and exhausted woman was sitting more comfortably. "You, Umbrella Girl. Have you seen a girl around here? Blonde hair, lowly attire, doesn’t look all together mentally."

She'd seen a familiar face across the crowd and happily waved to Noelle, but gone unnoticed. The gloomy girl was lost in her own private world. Hana had lost track of Noelle for a moment while crossing the area to reach her position, and the next thing she knew this mysterious stranger was cozying up to her! And then, before Hana could even open her mouth, she was insulted!

At least they were both back to sitting at a proper distance, now that Hana had interrupted...whatever had been going on. "So...was the movie too boring for you, or what?" Squinting at them. Suspicious...

She had been in her own world and expecting something interesting to happen on the screen or crowd, but she definitely wasn't expecting it to be some crazy sudden bombardment of socialization. Ironically she had come here alone because no one would bother her, especially not when the world around her seemed to always be rained upon - a new detail for Hana if nothing else. The jacket and umbrella also looked very different from before, almost dreerier if that was possible for someone in constant rain.

As soon as the girl, no woman appeared next to her Noelle's heart would race for a number of reason, but none that La Fey may have been used to. The amount of skin the woman showed, even without showing... it was shiver-inducingly scary. Who had that kind of- oh, Hana. Hana was another one that showed a lot of skin, but she had met her on a beach originally so she had assumed that was beach attire to some degree. The prudent fabricator looked again at the woman who had apparated suddenly with a blank look of stunned nothing. Regaining her actual composure she was unable to respond as Hana appeared. Better the devil you know appear when called then the one you don't though.

Looking between the two, Noelle thought about reaching for her menu to just fast travel away, but that was a little too rude even for them. As a fight seemed like it would break out Noelle would look up and as if on command her rain would widen its breadth and pick up, though noticable while it felt and looked like rain... it wasn't real. As soon as one stepped back they would once more be dry like the ground below her. Inhaling and exhaling she spoke, "Good evening to both of you... I guess. Were both of you looking for me for something? 'Cause if not the movie is supposed to be at the climax kiss or something soon."[break][break]

The sudden arrival of the voice behind her made La Fey turn around in some hope of seeing her blonde partner again. She had wanted to congratulate and thank her for the assistance shown in their tutorial. ”Ah, there you are. I was wondering when you-” La Fey was met by a blonde woman, but not the very one responsible for getting her out of that dreadsome team battle. This one was a little smaller and had a sort of refinement that Fey enjoyed. Even those glasses were adorable. But alas, this was not her girl. ”You’re cute, but not who I was looking for.” She put rather blunty, crossing her arms together. This newcomer did seem a tad irritated for whatever her reasons may be. Her resting bitch face stuck onto the girl, assessing her features with an amused smirk.
The Umbrella Girl that she had talked with originally had remained pretty quiet all things considered. Her overall mood almost made it seem like she had not even wanted to be bothered with company. To Fey’s surprise, she did speak up finally and seemed to know that girl that had just interrupted their discussion. But looking for her specifically? ”Seeing as how I just fell out of the air, I’m going to say no.” The film was brought up again as it was, indeed, at the climatic part of the film. Fey had seen this several times before. ”And so it would seem.” She said, turning her attention to focus on the film for a moment. Perhaps the other girl could do the same? It didn’t matter why she was huffy and puffy with her, nor did she care. It was just the three of them within the vicinity of each other. Then it hit her all of a sudden.
”You two are…together, aren’t you?” La Fey said with a coy smile. A small symphony of her laughter began. Her eyes traveled across each woman with the dialogue in the background playing at a softer volume. ”I must have dropped into a date between you two. I’m terribly sorry about that.”

"Uh, is something wrong with your weather powers, Noelle? That's what you've got, right? Something like that." She continued to squint for a few moments longer. Then yelped and hopped back a step as the rain began to fall on her sneakers. "H-hey!"

The comment from the older woman shut her up for a moment, causing her blush to return. Hana just looked between the two, clearing her throat before managing to speak up again. "Uh, did you travel to the wrong waypoint or something? New to system travel?"

Hana was trying to shift into helpful veteran mode when the new arrival sent the conversation in an entirely new direction. "Wh-what!? No way! My parents and agent and manager and producer all said I was too young to date anybody!" That was a year ago, though, actually.

This conversation was getting more and more detached from reality as far as Noelle was concerned. Her eyes trying to glue themselves to the screen, with little success, as the two distractions continued their talk. This really wasn't what they had come here to watch, and they were definitely not here to interact like she was being forced to. Sighing she snapped her umbrella closed and stowed it out of sight. The "rain" leaving nothing more then an impression that it existed, thought the outside of her jacket was still seemingly drenched in rain.

"Nothing is wrong with them no, got some neat cosmetic stuff I happen to like. Also yeah, no gross I'm pretty sure Hana is a bit to young to date, and even if she was, no offense to either of you, but neither of you are my type at all," Noelle would state between two of them. She was pretty sure Hana was still under eighteen, which was a big no-no in Noelle's book. She also just didn't like attention seekers, and the fabricator couldn't refer to these two as anything but.

That rain power did catch La Fey's attention. It was a curious little quirk of this woman, one that she had wondered how such a thing was possible. Was this another class of the system or something? Or was it just something to do with that umbrella of hers? Her eyes followed the outline of the item, taking in its form and appearance until her mind had been sated in the middle of the conversation. Although the blonde's name was Hana, she was indeed young. Then again, so was Noelle. So much so that Fey had assumed that the age range between them would be within a year or two. "It would seem so. I thought that you were younger than you likely are. Je suis désolée."
La Fey bowed her head to the women, though it was all but brief. The sullen looking one introduced herself to her as Noelle and keep things brief. She must have been busy dealing with some kind of trouble if the reluctance to engage in anything if that last point meant anything. But more under Fey's interest, the rain she was producing was an illusion. It was almost enough for her to start pressing her for more information. Any amount of illusions, metaphorical and physical, were powerful in her line of work. Or would it be previous? There was a lot to do to get back to the top, and Fey was still brainstorming options. With the introductions out of the way, it fell on her to finish things off.
"It's nice to meet the both of you. I am La Fey, but Fey will do." She giggled, flashing that teasing and coy smile as always. "And to answer your question from earlier, Hana, I'm new to everything. About 3 hours ago, I was busy in Cairo with…business." She wouldn't outright say what a woman of her power could be doing in Egypt. Every story was different. One person thought of her as the personal assistant to a celebrity, another was told that she worked as the CFO of a fashion agency that paid for designers to travel around for their inspiration. Some lies were crafted better than others. "I'm about ready to close a deal and the next thing I know, I'm somewhere else. That blonde girl I'm looking for is the person I was paired with and helped us come into the actual world. Just tying up loose ends is all."
Fey wasn't going to accept that she had worried about the girl. You never got attached in this business. It was how things got messy. So why did she care all of a sudden?
"Which brings me to my next few questions: Do you two have classes? Why are there monsters roaming around the world? Why is half the world locked behind some wall? And why is everyone so calm about this?"

Hana relaxed a little as the rain vanished. "Oh, a cosmetic item, sure. Well, I'm glad you like it then!" She seemed genuinely excited about the concept. Although she quickly made a grumpy face as the two spoke about her age like she wasn't even there. "I...I'm very responsible though! I have my own Guild and everything!"

She nodded along as Noelle confirmed this soon after. "I've been to Seattle a few times. I mean, before. It was pretty nice!" Cold and rainy, which definitely fit Noelle better than a beach or tropical island. As the new arrival continued to introduce herself, Hana plopped down on the ground next to her. "Oh, okay. That makes sense then. Nice to meet you, Miss Fey."

Her story was familiar, almost everyone had a similar one to share. "I was in the middle of a concert. Well, a small, private performance." After the comment about losing track of the other girl, Hana pulled up one of those floating, half-transparent system screens. "Is she in your recent list still, maybe?" She manipulated the screen to point towards Fey, showing a list of names with herself and Noelle at the top of it.

"And yeah, everyone here now has classes. Even if, like, a ton of people never use theirs. They're trying to pretend things aren't the way they are, that they can just go back to their old lives." Hana sighed, shaking her head. "It's been this way for, like, a year now. I've been here for nine months or so, myself." She shrugged. "You just get used to it...but it took me a few weeks."

Noelle was actually surprised that there was such a menu available for people in the system. She didn't show it, but she had barely sent three messages to anyone except Rory, and the closeted young man was too much of a pain for her to try and track anyways so she didn't bother. She did hope he wasn't dead though, the gremlin ape of a man was the kind of energetic cockroach that she could actually stay around. Honest to the point that he was honestly unnervingly himself. An open book was better then someone who so obviously kept their guard up.

"Alternatively, you can do what I do and just wander around and see who you run into. Seems to work more then I'd like," Noelle would say with a bit of bitter sarcasm laced into the statement. It was true too, it was nigh impossible with world wide fast travel to meet everyone endlessly and yet she met the same fifteen people repeatedly.

"Sadly, Seattle is probably stuck in one of those inverse mountain pits in Washington. Also I got a lot more then a cosmetic item... I don't know if you ever met Nikolas, but he upgraded my umbrella in the forge... Echo Fabricator is not the clunker of a class I had originally. “Don’t let my laughter fool you, Hana. It’s quite an accomplishment to run a guild, especially at your age.” La Fey replied and looked back at the spectacled member of their little friend group so far. “You appear quite capable of being a leader. Something about you strikes me as the type to play the hero. The shining knight atop a brilliant steed. Poised to save the kingdom from certain doom. But I could also just be charming you so that you’ll buy something from me in the future.” A knowing wink later and the woman watched as Hana sat down next to her. All three were now seated beside one another. Hana did seem to answer most of her questions about the world she’s found herself in. It sounded like everything around her had been uprooted, turned upside down and carved with a knife until it barely resembled whatever it used to be.
La Fey was troubled by this development, pounding her balled fist into the ground, then slouched her shoulders. “I worked so hard to get to where I was, and now, I’m right back where I was before I even started.” She frowned at this development and crossed her arms while looking back at the film. Noelle even offered some perspective about what she tended to do. A real solo wolf type of person. “But you seem to know Hana though. It must be nice having somebody you can rely on. I barely know if any of my old clients are in this game, or even alive for that matter.”
It took some kind of badass to go out into this world alone though. Fey could admire that about their little sullen friend here. It took a moment of silence before she looked over to her after mentioning Nikolas. “So this Nikolas can enhance equipment, can he?” Her lips came together in intrigue. “Are there any other people who offer such services? I may as well take note of them all right now.”

Noelle would nod towards both as they said things she could agree to without words; those were Noelle's favorite kind of conversational points. The ones she didn't have to have, or rather reply to verbally. Still though the continued to sit back in a relaxed position on the hill and enjoy what little of this time she could now that the air wasn't even remotely hostile. This was a good conversation now, the topic being far more interesting then relationships.

I only recognized Kitty, she's a storekeeper class of some kind. Her store is in Unison Central, marked on the map at that actually... anyways if its being named french I can only assume it has to do with the little girl who was peddling inside Kitty's shop. There was no doubt that any kind of player in this world would have things or hidden details on a class scale that made each unique. The same must then have applied to their modes of transportation. Hana took her analogy a little too literally about the players they knew that had a way of getting around. Some did make sense such as Dantalion's stallion that could work. The others, however, were a bit out of the ordinary. Some person named Enigma had a huge butterfly, Dee Dee had a star and Hana had a surfboard. There were a lot of ways of getting around this strange world now.
“A surfboard? Do you summon the waves underneath it while you're riding it?” Fey repeated after her, laughing again. “But to answer your question, I am a merchant. Or was. But this class of mine is a mixture of merchant and combat class. What kind of class name is a Wicked Fixer anyway? But just like I did before the game, I sell “things” that others may or may not deem "illegal". But that would really depend on your morality of what’s “governable.” Her fingers formed into the shape of quotation marks during her explanation as Fey looked between both Noelle and Hana. “But in short, yes. I just need to beat my items for sale out of monsters, it would seem. I’m almost tempted to find some weak monster and see what comes out.”
Another soft chuckle. It was as if her suggestion had been as normal as going down to a local burger joint and ordering lunch. The mention of a kind of guild that had focused exclusively on shops and services had not gone unnoticed by Fey. She thought this over, receiving a ping on her phone. A hand dove into her pocket to pull it out once more before pressing the message tab. Waiting for her was from another player with the message title being of the very same guild.
“Speak of the devil." La Fey said, showing the other two her phone. “I suppose my entry hasn't gone unnoticed. I do hate to check up on that girl, but I'm confident she can take care of herself for a while longer. I'll have to visit this…Jeanne-Marie and see if she's legit or not.”

Hana blinked and looked confused at Fey's class, though. "A fixer? Like a mechanic or repairman?" She went slightly pale as the explanation continued. Oh, she was one of those types...

"W-well, I do recommend doing some easy starter missions. Anything that lets you stay inside a Safe Zone the whole time is good. Fetch quests, that's what some people call them. Just deliver food or boxes or something." Hana peered at the phone as it was turned towards them. Some people did find it easier to use the system through one of those, rather than the floating menu screens. "Oh, do you need to go? I can show you how to use the waypoints if you need any help!"
