[attr=class,bulk] Ygdra took deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling as he took in the very best air that nature had to offer. It had only been recently that the world he knew had changed so drastically that everything humanity had achieved so far became extinct, but by no means had it been through natural selection. Earth-chan, as they called it, had now mixed fantasy with science and made nightmare fuel and heaven for people like him. All of the studies in science, history languages and other academics had been set back to hundreds, or maybe even millions of years. But even though he recently awakened from a deep slumber not too long ago, there hadn’t been much progress yet, or at least back to how things were before the Light descended. [break][break] Which is why, for his first mission, Ygdra took a rather peculiar if not dangerous approach to his comeback as a naturalist. He wore his usual green samue over his black haori and per japanese standards, he wore geta sandals. Now, this was perhaps not the most ideal outfit but he felt most comfortable wearing loose garments. His verdant outfit perfectly blended with the lush forest that surrounded him.[break][break] Tall, majestic trees towered over him like crooked giants, their foliage barely letting any light in. The air was cool and crisp, and you could see a small puff of air with each breath. The temperatures could reach somewhat low levels, especially at dusk, where the warmth of the sun would leave Ygrda and his companion to their fate. He settled on the base of the tree not too far from the edge of the canopy of leaves and reviewed the mission once more.[break][break] Bugs may be small but come in large numbers. However, ever since the Light, evolution has taken on an entirely new meaning. A strange creature, seemingly an insect in nature has been sighted, but not confirmed, to be skittering the borders of Seoul. Your mission is to observe and identify the creature. If it proves a threat, eliminate it if you must.[break][break]

Now that Ygdra took a closer look at the herculean figure that was Mr.Beast, there was one thing that was eating his curiosity. He was loud and rambunctious as you would expect from someone with that kind of physique, and the moment that he wrapped his hand around his and shook it profusely, Ygdra felt his bones tap dance from their positions, his feeble muscles turning into clay dough. His power is no joke it seems… His smile turned into a small chuckle, and he had to use his other hand to accept the holographic screen. [break][break]
“Yes, I am interested in your training regimen.” Ygdra tilted his head to give Mr. Beast an endearing smile. “ I’m quite aware that stats govern the physical realm of this world now and it’s quite embarrassing to say that I’m lacking in that regard.” [break][break]
Ygdra was a little disappointed when Mr.Beast dismissed his feline companion as it was second to the list of things he would uncover during his session with this. If he recalled correctly, it was a sort of pet or summon and he would definitely acquire one (or several) in the near future. There were actually many things that Ygdra wanted to obtain in the near future and perhaps, one of them was standing right there and there. Of course, he would have to acquire sufficient power to make his way of life come true and Mr. Beast would help him achieve that but for now, Ygdra was simply happy to be touched by the muscles of this brooding figure. With the cat out of the building, it was just the two of them. He went on to explain the choices he had but all could Ygdra wonder whether he could be his choice in the matter. Of course, he wasn’t so shameless as to flirt with a man he just met, but he was free to think otherwise. “Understood.” He said under his breath, pretending it was the biggest choice he would ever make but he had already decided long before he entered those doors. The moment Ygdra touched the holographic screen, it fizzled and changed to a much larger text, similar to the way an old desktop would display a text on its screen. “How fascinating this is… truly!” He commented with a hand on his chin as he read the message to wait for help. He jolted a little as a tune of sorts began ringing across the vast emptiness of the Forgotten Mists. His head whipped left, right to his back only to rest his eyes forward, trying to catch a glimpse of anything that might have been attracted to the sudden music. It was common knowledge in the vast wilderness of the unknown to keep noise to a bare minimum as it could attract all sorts of unwarranted attention.
Mother nature, or in this case, Earth-chan was not so forgiving. [break][break]
It was then he heard it. Underlying beneath the happy-go-lucky tune was the rustling sound of the unknown. The tune had ended and while there was another holographic screen saying they had found a guide, Ygdra’s attention was elsewhere. [break][break]
Not that it terrified Ygdra, of course. He was a man of science first and foremost and curiosity was at the peak of his psyche. Nothing drove him crazier than an untapped source of knowledge. He would definitely tap whatever was coming. But as if by fate, his entire vision was filled with a strange digital light and the next thing he knew he was falling. It wasn’t a terrible distance but the sensation of being displaced all of a sudden had a knack of unbalancing even the best of adults and with Ygdra’s below average physique, he was no match for momentum and gravity. Everything occurred in a blur but he did feel his fall somewhat become mitigated by something, nay someone. If this person decided to move, it would be of no consequence and if they dodge, it would only cause Ygdra a little pain but a lot of embarrassment. [break][break]
The moment he fell onto the destination another holographic message appeared. Ygdra would read it later, after getting into a less than compromising position. He got up and would dust himself off, the specks flying into the gentle breeze. [break][break]
“I deeply apologize for having to meet like this, my dear sir.” Ygdra took off his fedora hat to dust it off as well, put it back and extended a hand to the other man. “The name is Doctor Ygdra Elder, a naturalist and currently misplaced somewhere between hell and this heaven on earth.”[break][break]
The holographic message now contained a rather, funny looking, caricature. Ygdra couldn’t pin tail to butt regarding its species or taxonomy but it did look like an infant’s drawing. [break][break]
“How curious, indeed.” With an inquisitive look, eyes squinting as if the vomit of text would be better understood, he shook his head and regarded the man with white hair. “Have you any idea what this rubbish is all about? I haven’t the foggiest idea about system windows and stats.” [break][break]

Exercise wasn’t normally on top of Ygdra’s agenda but alas, with the introduction of this feature called “Statistics” his physical, mental and spiritual abilities had been quantified into data that could be altered using a series of repetitive physical activities. Yggy sighed and shook his head slowly. He had had Physical Education during his high school years but dropped it during University in order to focus on his hobbies, but even he had to admit he was sorely lacking in other departments. If he was to achieve the specific lifestyle he so desired, a little physical, however strenuous, activity would not hurt.[break][break]
So there he was, a middle aged man in a green kimono and zori standing in front of a very forlorn, yet mysterious building. He had to make his way across this dungeon looking abode, which according to the ad, was for the famous Guild called Utopia. It was rather an idealistic name, but he wasn’t here to judge. Ygdra finally reached the location indicated on the ad and as soon as he walked inside, he was greeted with the strangest yet most fascinating sight. Calling the man strange was an understatement since, with all Ygdra’s experience in genetic experimentation, he could tell that the man he would be calling Mr. Beast was a fine specimen. The way his muscles rippled through his glistening skin told him how much emphasis he placed on his training regimen. For a moment, he tipped his hat to hide his excitement, a rather lascivious grin spreading across his facade, melting and dripping into a rather practiced, amicable smile when he took off his fedora hat. [break][break] He understood the symptoms he was experiencing were similar to that of a long term deep sleep induced by REM, which was also the side effects of having slept for too long. His body felt heavy and cold, even though his consciousness was awake, it seemed his body would require a more intense approach. After deep breaths, he forced his upper body into an upright seating position but almost regretted the decision and put a hand on his head, gently, as if it might fall off. [break][break] His sight was beginning to clear and the foggy mists of drowsiness faded away, only to be replaced by another kind of mist. [break][break] “ Well, well, well.” He tipped his hat forward, as if to hide his facade. “ I wonder what fate holds for me today…”[break][break] It was truly a sight to behold, to wake up completely exposed and at the edge of a cliff, surrounded by ruined buildings, wires extending like the webs of a spider. Above all this was a soft, yet murky mist that embraced the area, like a cage never that would never let you go. From the cracks of light attempting to break through, their bright red shimmer told him it was quite early in the morning. The air felt cool to the touch, stenched with decay and dust. Quite the perfect balance, in his opinion. [break][break] Just as he stood up, having gained autonomy of his old body, a strange holographic message appeared before him. [break][break] “ I don’t know about you guys, but the planet kinda sucks…” Ygdra read the message with an eyebrow raised. “Which is why I’m making it better. Y’all like games right?”[break][break] “ I’m sowwy?” He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. “ Dear me, was this written by a five year old?” [break][break] There was no point in brooding about it though it peeved him a little how this message was trying to be edgy, but after painstakingly reading entire message, he understood the gist of his current situation and simply shrugged it off, implying there wasn’t anything he could do about the state of humanity. There was truth in this mess, and it was the need to change the world. Ygdra was all for fun and games as long he was allowed to live the way he wanted, until he wasn’t anymore. [break][break] “ No pain no gain, I guess. ” He muttered while cracking his shoulders and stretching his legs. The cold was beginning to seep into his rather tattered bones, and in his situation, he would need his body and warmed up, ready for action. Just then, another message popped up. [break][break] “ A Class?” He ravaged the holographic message with wonder. “ How fascinating…” [break][break] Ygdra read each description like an exposed nerve, each one detailed as if someone had read his heart and mind, exposing his desires like a flesh wound. He licked the tip of his fingers, savoring the last class with a touch of high class cuisine. The first seemed very suitable for his needs while the second option would be quite fun, why not have it all? core As a Biomancer, when you help defeat a Staff-Made Monster, you acquire its Soul: the creature's essence given physical form, which counts as a [Class] item for you. With a Soul in your possession, you have the following Methods of tampering with them by making a request in System-Moderation (where staff will determine the effect), though each will "consume" the Soul in the process. Whenever a Soul adds an effect to something, it will be marked separately so that if anything ends up overwriting that effect (such as using another Soul on a Skill that's already been given one) it's clear what will be changed. [Item] - For 50 points, you may fuse the Soul into an item to change it into something new or grant it a new effect. This does not work on items that have been forged. Using another Soul on the item destroys the previous Soul and its effects.[break]
[Skill] - For 50 Points, you may fuse the Soul into a Skill to change it into something new or grant it a new effect. This does not work on Guided Skills. Using another Soul on the item destroys the previous Soul and its effects.[break]
[Ability] - For 100 Points, you may fuse the Soul into a human. When fused this way, it latches onto one of their Class abilities to grant it a new effect. A person may only have one Soul bound to themselves in this way. The recipient may at any time purge the Soul from their body, destroying it and its effect in the process.[break]
[Pet/Summon] - For 200 Points, you may fuse the soul into a Pet/Summon to hybridize the two, creating a new creature entirely. This does not work on Class-Specific Pets/Summons. Another Soul cannot be used after this.[break]
[Monster] - Without spending points, you may also corrupt a soul, firing it as an attack against a Monster. The Soul, eager for a new form, homes in on the Monster and deals your [MAGI] Rank+1 in damage. The effect of the Soul afterwards is entirely case-by-case based on the monster and Soul in question. Dharmic Wheel The goal of perfection lies in true enlightenment. Create a Karmic domain within a [MAGI/10 Meters] area centered on yourself. For [Three Posts] enemies that use abilities that deal damage, or use weapon/natural attacks of any form, inside of the domain gain a stacking debuff called [Karmic Debt] for each ability or attack. It can stack up to Eight Times, has no duration, and can not be cleansed while inside the Karmic domain. When an enemy gains eight stacks of [Karmic Debt] you gain a copy of their [Soul] and they take your [MAGI] -1 Rank in damage as it is forcibly shunted from their body. This ability has an [Eight Post] cooldown.[break][break]

Become Yin, Embrace Yang Balance is the world with your own creation. Choose an ally and an enemy within [20 Meters] of you, then compare their [PWR] stats against each other. If your enemy has the lower stat they gain the [Yin State] debuff taking your [MAGI] -4 Ranks every post and reducing any damage they would deal by your [PWR] -3 Ranks for [Three Posts]. WeaponsFan of the Dead [Forged] Ripples of ghostly visages can be seen on the surface of this fan. When it is quiet enough, you might even hear the howls and screams of agony by the souls trapped within. Possessing this fan provides a 20% buff to your [WIL]. [break][break]
Once per post, you can use the fan as a weapon, lashing out with it and dealing your [PWR] in damage to one target. The edges of the fan might look nimble, but it is the grasping claws of the dead that shoot out from it, scratching at your target in melee range. [break][break]
With a flick of the fan, you are able to summon a strong gale of wind, accompanied by the shrieks and howls of the dead! This gale travels at your [SPD], and reaches up to 10m in front of you, in a 5m width. Those caught in immediately take your [MAGI] -1 in damage. If their [WIL] is lower in rank than the user’s they also take are struck with [Fear], and will not be able to approach the user for one post. This can be used every three posts. [break][break]
Once a thread, you can summon a spectral fog cloud that envelops the area around you with a total diameter of 20m. Those within are unable to see anything if your [WIL] is higher in rank than theirs. Those unable to see through the fog cloud will be assaulted by images of phantoms constantly trying to attack them. You, however, are able to see clearly. This lasts for three posts, and can be ended early by the user. [break][break]
Spectre Whistle [Uncommon] Three times in a thread. You can blow this seemingly innocuous whistle. When done it summons a phantom child to take a hit dissipating it. Each child only takes your [MAGI] -1 rank stat in damage. The rest will still head towards you.[break][break]

Snake-Headed Staff [Uncommon]An awful rendition of the Caduceus that seems to have been carved by a novice woodworker. Once per post you may make a ranged magical blast from the end of the staff that deals your MAGI -2 Ranks in [Poison] damage, capping at B-Rank. Once per thread, you may instead have it heal for your MAGI -3 Ranks, capping at a B-Rank heal.[break][break]
Utility ItemsShifting Collar [Rare] A collar that allows the wearer to assume the form of another creature within the same thread as them. This includes the summons/pets of other players. Where to begin?
Ygdra Libana Elder was born to a very normal family, albeit one that was hardly present. His parents were both successful doctors in their own medical field; his father is of Japanese descent and was a pathologist who travelled the world to research diseases while her mother had chosen a more humble career as a veterinarian in England. They were both career driven and while they made numerous attempts to take part in Yggy’s stages of growth, there is nothing that could replace their presence in his life. [break][break]
Their absences did not bother Ygdra at all, however. He had a nanny and a personal chef who looked after his needs and whatever Yggy wants, he most definitely achieved. Even as a child, Yggy had also developed an early curiosity for his parents’ work. You see, he had difficulty understanding emotions and empathising with others. He could see someone’s expression or reaction to stimulus and wondered why the face; did they pity him whenever they showed kindness to him? Were they only here because of his parent’s money? [break][break]
He spent most of his years reading and understanding the questions that troubled his mind. It was a lot easier to spend time alone, in between the pages of books since the children of his school and neighbourhood found him very disturbing and after a few attempts and socialising, both Yggy and every kid within a certain radius decided it’d be best to avoid each other’s gaze. He would have his nanny read him books mostly about wildlife, but his repertoire was much more extensive, ranging from mythology, folklore and sometimes horror. Yggy didn’t like fairy tales too much since they bore him and the endings were much predictable, but with horror, no matter what poker face he put, he would end up restless. [break][break]
But no amount of reading laid his troubles to rest.
On his thirteenth birthday, Yggy’s life finally began to turn its rusty wheels. He had asked his parents for a pet, and they got him a beautiful Old English Sheepdog as Yggy was bound for college at an all boys boarding school. It was thanks to this new lifeform that Yggy had become closer to understanding emotions and began to train himself in the art of understanding what it felt like to feel something. Strangely enough, none of the residents in the Elder mansion could find the dog anywhere inside the house or on the mansion grounds. It was simply assumed that the poor dog had left one stormy night, wandering into the woods and never coming back. [break][break]
Yggy’s scholastic years were the best of his life. He learned so much more from his peers and classmates than he ever did with his nanny and the books his parents sent him every month and his professors were very much pleased with the progress he made, particularly within the scientific field. Yggy earned many accolades and even made himself perfect upon reaching his fourth year (normally they would have to be fifth years and above).[break][break]
All of these achievements were merely a facade to Yggy’s hobbies. He couldn’t afford humans just yet as he understood well enough the moral and juridical consequences, but for some reason, animals of other species were very easy prey. He’d chosen a career out of observing flora and fauna anyways as a disguise to his “experiments” and thanks to his charm and accolades, no one was the wiser to his schemes. There were a few times when he’d become a bit rash and say, dump a slightly modified strain of the cold virus (it always mutated anyway) into the water system causing a slight pandemic, but no one could trace it back to him. He did gain a lot of invaluable data since he also came down with the symptom, but it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless. [break][break]
There’s restlessness and then there’s you.
After graduating, Yggy began his career as Professor Elder, and took a different approach to his parents’ respective fields of medicine. He would broaden his horizons as a naturalist, with a weird hobby on dissecting and partially torturing wildlife to open up possibilities. At first he’d done it to understand the workings of the mind, what made someone tick, shed a tear or run a shiver down a spine. What if… you gave your pet dog two more pairs of legs, would it run faster? Or say give a fish a set of wings and replace their gills with lungs? The possibilities were endless and Yggy did not need to dissect his own brain to understand this feeling of excitement. [break][break]
When the “The Light That Crosses Worlds” came and visited Earth, Yggy’s life and worldview were reborn. Many were distraught and ruined by the fall of society, but Yggy was one of the few elated individuals. Everything that had made him an outcast and scourge of society now were qualities that were absolutely necessary for survival. He would no longer have to hide or pretend “to be human” any longer. He was free but he didn’t know that his freedom would be cut short. [break][break]
But now, he has risen and it is time to take back the time that was lost to circumstance.
