Just like Lowell, his two wolves had come around full circle and tried to gather her attention. Not one to shy away from the opportunity of a life time, Soyeon knelt down to be level with the boy's summons and treated them each to an equal amount of pets and more. She started ruffling one's chest and petting Shadow's fur, then switching off to Claw after half a minute or so. "Such good boys~ You were so ferocious out there! Yes, thank you for saving me! I wish I had some treats for the both of you." She laughed at how adorable these two were, then turning back to Lowell while remaining on the ground to continue her petting streak. A window showed up in front of the pair to announce the mission being a success, with Soyeon beaming brightly at the team. "Great work out there, you three!" [break][break]
After peeling herself away from the group, Soyeon watched as the pair of wolves moved back over to Lowell and howled their goodbyes to her. The mother smiled at the displaying, offering a nod. "Good luck with the hunt, sweetie! I'll be at Unison Central! Feel free to stop by and say hello! Everybody needs a place to unwind these days." He split away while bidding her goodbye before asking for a name, which she gave to him. "I'm Soyeon. It's nice to meet you Lowell, and your two cuties." Her feet carried her two him one last time while then slowly wrapping her arms around him with a soft hug. "Be careful out there, okay? There's a bunch of nasty folk who will eat you up and spit you out if you let them. If you ever need anything, come to me." Once hug later, Soyeon waved goodbye and then stepped through a portal back home. [break][break]

"I know, sweetie, but it's dangerous out here. You or the other wolves could have gotten hurt." Some part of Soyeon knew that it was a pretty ironic thing to call him out on, considering she had willingly put herself into danger by trying to placate the man with whatever he had wanted. The shopkeeper sighed and looked down at the wolves, fingers tracing around their fur. They were nice dogs, protecting an even nicer kid. Soyeon was happy at least, for it was a comforting thought to hear that at least one good person was out and about inside of the game area for a change. His worry was well placed, although Soyeon reached to gently ruffle his hair in the way that only a mother could. [break][break]
"I ran a store for years on end. I can deal with a hold up or a hostage situation just fine. You're a good boy, Lowell. Don't ever let anybody tell you otherwise." The woman smiled at the younger man while the other partygoers seemed to have chilled out after the display that had just occurred in front of them. Some even would cheer for the two of them as Soyeon turned to wave a knowing hand at the crowd. She smirked at Lowell and then at the criminal being dragged away by the rest of the guard force. Even with all of the stuff going on, the mom of the group was treating herself as the backbone of the team. Even if Noel was kind of real or maybe a figment of the game(?), Soyeon would still worry and stress over his well being. Dalton, on the other hand, was anything but somebody she could trust to take care of themselves. Since he first stepped foot into their shop so long ago before being sucked into the game, she had always been hovering over him like the mom she was. So when Dalton began to break down in the middle of this maze, she was quick to walk over and comfort him. Her arms wrapped themselves around him in a doting embrace, while she slowly stroked his hair in an effort to calm his mind enough to speak. [break][break]
"Dalton, sweetie, it's okay. Shhhh." She let him panic a little, letting him know that it wasn't a bad thing that he was freaking out. This change of scenery and game would stress out even the most stalwart of warriors. Even if it was some sort of strange, alcohol infused dream from her recent binge, Soyeon was still making sure he wasn't stressing. "I know you're scared and everything's confusing and doesn't make sense, but I know you can do this. You've got me and Noel by your side. Anything that's going to come and try to punish us will be sent packing! We can get out of this maze, but you've got to get up and show us the way out." If he wouldn't raise his head to look at her, Soyeon's hands dipped to gently forced his chin up to look at her. [break][break]
Suddenly from afar, the ground begin to shake in a steady pattern. Something was coming closer, and it was something big. There wasn't a whole lot back in the real world that could make a miniature earthquake this easily. She turned back to Dalton and sounded worried. "Look at me, sweetie. You have to be brave. I'll let you sit in your room all day, but I won't let some dumb, huge monster have its way with you. We can go out and search for Jin or whatever you want, but we have to survive this first, okay?" Despite how calm she was, Soyeon was terrified of what could happen while this plan of hers went into motion. It could very well be that he'd get tired of how slow she'd be getting this thing for him and embed that knife in the back of her head, or any kind of end result, really. Yet she had to keep calm for the sake of that employee who had simply been on the wrong end of this man's bad day. With what he wanted in hand, the shopkeeper turned back to the man in question. She winced at his mention about her doing something, only for him to go to press the knife against her own neck in return. [break][break]
Fear struck inside of her heart, the worry about whether or not this would be the end of her life. Without ever seeing her daughter again, or the ability to see her husband or child again. Another reason why she failed her family once again. Maybe it was some kind of retribution that had caused her to experience this. Not selling enough, not having a good enough class to save her family herself. She resigned herself to her fate and then... [break][break]
Lowell tackled him to the ground, knocking the down away from Soyeon's safety. She felt the tension in her body remain though, unable to shake the nerves firing off while she stood and watched the younger man fight off the other criminal. He disarmed him and quickly dispatched the threat as the actual guards showed up in no time at all. The man was whisked away to prison, leaving Soyeon and Lowell to themselves. Once she was able to, Soyeon quickly wrapped her arms around Lowell and squeezed him as hard as she could. [break][break]
"I was so worried for you! Do you have any idea about how dangerous what you pulled was? Don't ever try anything like that ever again!" It was a little hypocritical considered what she had done, but in the eyes of Soyeon, at least her little stunt had been for the poor stall owner who had no point but to intervene. Once Lowell had responded, the mother let go with a pout and fixed some his collar some. "You should be more careful, Lowell. But I'm still proud of you. Good job, sweetie!" [break][break]

Speak of the devil! Just as they remembered what they had been hired to do, a fight was breaking out in a nearby tent. Some furious looking customer was already having a time picking on the poor attendant inside of the stall. Soyeon had stopped petting Claw (though she would have kept going for hours if she had the chance) and looked back over at Lowell and his wolves for what they should do. He was going to be the one to do all the heavy lifting if things broke out into a fight, sadly. But that didn't mean she wasn't going to try and make herself useful in some way. "Let's get going." The older woman nodded at the wolfmaster and walked with him towards the two currently engaged in a heated argument. [break][break]
In typical entitled customer fashion, the man cared little for what he may be giving the impression to bystanders, or even to them. In only a few sentences, he questioned their authority and refused to cease his tantrum. "Sir, this is supposed to be a celebration, not some contest. These things don't have any value, they're souvenirs of good times you can still enjoy. We can solve this peacefully if you'll just calm down and-" [break][break]
Nope, he pulled out a knife and escalated things. Soyeon chided herself at the lack of being able to do anything here. Now in a hostage situation, the two of them were pushed into doing something. She had something to fight with people, though in a situation like this, attacking first was going to hurt the innocent hurt to killed. She thought of how to handle this and looked over at Lowell quietly. Break ins and hold ups were nothing new to her as a business owner, so she knew how to suppress her worry and think clearly. Her eyes moved from him, to the grand prize he had been lusting after, then back to Lowell and nodded. A silent affirmation of her wanting him to wait for an opportunity. [break][break]
"Alright, you wanted that thing up there, right?" Soyeon pointed calmly while making eye contact with the man. "I'll get it for you. Just don't anything rash. Take a breath and calm down." She moved carefully around Lowell and into the booth before going to slowly on hook the top around the display stand. Her movement, while trembling slightly, were still patient enough as to not make any sudden movements. Once the price was out in the open, she held it out for the man in take. "Here. Just put the man down, and I'll let you have it." [break][break]
Once the man was distracted enough, she looked to Lowell to come and take him down when the time was right.

"That's a pretty good way of looking at things. As good as you can in what's happened with the world now. Not everything has to be about fighting and violence these days. Sometimes it's just relaxing and enjoying the little things in life. But nobody can really resist that call of youth for kids like you. Always rushing around, loving life! I miss it, sometimes~" Soyeon laughed to herself at how her affection giving was interrupted as another one of Lowell's shadow wolves popped up to appear upset that Shadow was taking all of the attention. Soyeon was more than generous to offer Claw just as much affection. "Aw, don't be jelly faced! You just want a little lovin's! Such a ferocious wittle guard dog!" [break][break]
The news of hearing that Lowell hadn't run into her daughter yet was still rather worrying for the mother. She was starting to worry that maybe she might never see her precious baby again. Another member of the family she had failed, unable to pry her away from the cold edges of Earth-chan and their game. It was for the best, given how volatile the world was, but the lack of things to keep her mind off of her growing worry was becoming more difficult to ignore. Would she ever find Hana in all of this? Was she better off in limbo or wherever she was being held? Nobody seemed to know or really care. [break][break]
"I see." Soyeon pursed her lips in thought. "It's fine, sweetie. I just figured I should ask sooner or later. Maybe one day I'll run into somebody who's seen her." She smiled whistfully for a moment, until turning the conversation about her business once more. Not the best deflection she's pulled off, but it beat a long and soppy monologue! "Please do! I'm usually always around, since it doubles as my home. If you're ever interested, I'll be there! Might have to clean up a bit though." Hopefully he didn't mind the mountains of empty beer bottles in the back! [break][break]

"Anything to help everybody have a great time at the festival! I might not be the party girl I used to, but I'll do whatever it takes to make sure that everybody has a way to blow off some steam while in the middle of the game." Soyeon proudly declared. In earnest, she did want to help make a difference for the people here in having a good time. But another reason for joining had been hoping some of the premiere alcohol here was going to get offered up to the staff as first dibs. And if there was anything better than top shelf booze, it was free top shelf booze! "My friends and I used to go to parties like these all the time, but that was a lifetime ago. Petting the perfect shadow canine was enough to bring the woman's mind out of the gutter, as she continued to baby talk Shadow as if he was the size of a shiba inu. Her hands went through his fur as she giggled to herself and continued to baby this combat pet around. "Awww, Shadow! You're so ferocious!~ Any bad guys better watch out or else you'll show them how cute you are!~" After Lowell finished with an explanation of his abilities, Soyeon took her turn. She managed to focus away from one of the man's wolves and stand back up fully. "It's not much, but I'm one of the store owners in the merchant district. I run The Xchange, and my class is [DirectXChanger]. I take all the items and skills you don't want and break them down into stuff that'll help you. It's not exactly as useful as others, but if you ever want to recycle, I'm your girl!~" [break][break]
The woman let out another laugh before something popped up in her mind. It was a shot in hell whether or not Lowell had recently loaded in or if he had been here a while. "I actually wanted to ask if you had seen somebody around." Soyeon's demeanor changed into a more serious one as she dug into her shorts pocket for her phone and brought up a picture of a toddler that looked similar to who she looked. The resemblance between them made their relationship clear, though Soyeon's expression became one of concern. "Have you seen a kid like this around? I've been searching for her for a while now..." It was pretty hard to miss Soyeon, all things considered. She was among the small group of people who was above the age of twenty stuck in this game, and likely would be for quite some time! So when Lowell smacked into her, she bounced back almost immediately. Her motherly instincts kicked in and went to inspect the poor boy that she had smacked into. "Sorry, sweetie! I must have not seen you. Are you alright?" Her concern over Lowell's state was growing a bit alarming the longer she insisted on making sure he was in good health, until pressured enough to cease. Soyeon exhaled and then smiled at the younger man, bringing both hands together. "I am! In fact, I'm helping out with security here! I'm not the best fighter, but I have a couple of ways of getting around that." She puffed out her chest with pride, as if taking solace in her inability to contribute to a fight. [break][break]
Her attention moved to the canines that were nearby Lowell, the woman's eyes growing wide with adoration for the pooches. "Well hi there~" She said in a baby voice to the shadow wolves. "Who's a good puppy? Who's the cutest little member of security ever? You are!~" A hand reached out to pet and stroke one of them, showering them with the affection that only an avid dog lover could ever hope for! Of course, this was assuming that they were corporeal...or even allowed her to do so. [break][break]

"I guess they lived here, in the same store they worked at." Soyeon pursed her lips together in thought, wondering over to a series of crates that had another name scribbled on it. Lacey." She popped it open and saw something that made her jaw drop. Two gorgeous white wedding gowns, glimmering brilliant lights that dashed the surface, stuffed into an dusty old storage container. Soyeon slowly picked the top from its resting place and held it in front of her. Behind observant eyes were memories of her own wedding with Gavin, the happiest day where the both of them joined one another in union. Behind the two gowns were books, dusty old reading material whose pages were aged like a mulled wine. Yellow, coarse pages were mixed with those who appeared much newer. The genres were far and wide. Romance, mystery, children's, self help, everything else. Suddenly it clicked for Soyeon. "Of course! A bookstore, duh." Not entirely obvious, but the more you knew! She set the gown back into the box and noticed a photo in the corner. Bringing it to her face showed off two older woman together in front of the shop, with a toddler resting between them. A perfect, happy family if there was one. She smiled and placed it back inside of the crate, while finishing up her job.

Several pick ups later and she hadn't even broken through most of the other stuff in this office. Soyeon had taken a break and was huffing from all this work. She had moved a good ten oversied boxes full of clothing and somehow it still seemed like there were thousands more. A part of her wondered if not calling for assistance would have made more sense here, though who would even help for this stupid job? As Soyeon sat in place on top of a larger crate, her eyes moved down to the side of a box with a name on it. "Travis?" She asked aloud, opening the box and coming face to face with a box full of- [break][break]
No, no she had to close it. It was much to painful. The thoughts, the memories of life before loading in. Soyeon pushed it aside and stood in place for a moment, recollecting herself. Her hands balled until the knuckles turned white. A couple of moments passed while she tried to mentally collect herself and then go over to the box once again. With a deep breath and some mental fortitude, Soyeon opened it up again. Infant and baby stuff: clothes, little room decorations, and a disassembled crib taking up most of the space in the box. There weren't really any pictures of anything, or who this Travis was, but he had surely been young. A hand brought up a teddy bear with a blue bow and the name incribed on the foot. A bear waiting for a boy who would never come. She closed the box and continued to work at it.

The first layer of boxes and stuff was pretty much what she had expected. Moving inside of this shop had been a breeze considering that it had used to be some kind of other store with all this shit in the back. A couple of the things inside were rather straightforward. Boxes of old little knick knacks and stuff Soyeon had thrown out of the front when she had just opened up. Fingers pried open an unarmed box as Soyeon went to look inside at what was looking at her. Inside lay bundled clothing in neat, folded patterns. Ribbed brown sweaters on top with other various clothing in between. "Weird. Was this a department store or something?" She asked herself, continuing to rummage through box after box of clothing. What was odd was how it was all unmarked. No branding tags, no plastic wrap covering it, not even an inventory list. It had been a pretty good day of beachgoing that Soyeon had been enjoying to herself. A day off from manning her store had been just what she needed!
