Emir rolled his eyes at the cute date jab. He always had a cute date or someone else trying to get in his pants. He may have lost billions in spare money, but he did not lose his charm. “But of course. I keep my friends list exclusive. You on the other hand may be in danger. Most of my friends try not to be as cute and edible.” Emir gave a big smile showing off his pearly whites. Was he making a pass, joking, or did mean cannibalism? The world may never know. It was not like Emir was going to say anything.[break]

Emir dipped back into his shadow, and scurried away. If he had popcorn he would have taken it out. He no longer had to fight with his life on the line for such low leveled monsters. Now anything that made him fight seriously would probably wipe out most people. Since he did not want to kill steal, it was easier for him to wait. It did not take Try long to finish his business with the last monster.[break][break]
When the monster died. Emir would pop back up. He exited stealth and was just chilling out. “That took you long enough.” Emir would quip and smile like he did not kill 9 monsters in the span of a minute. This was not even him going all out. If the monsters were slightly stronger he could still have a similar result. The strongest one would have had to be three times stronger for him to start sweating by his approximations. Emir was confident in what he did.[break][break]
“Eh. You think you have what it takes to be friends with me squirt.” Emir gave the other youngin a thousand watt teasing smile.

The monster roared out in rage. The two largest ones increased their speed suddenly. They aimed their spears at shadow Emir and threw it. The spears hit the shadow actually caused a ripple. Emir was not happy about it and perceived them both as a thread. Waving his hands to black blades appeared on his fingers. The blackened death blades looked like evil doritos. A bank handed motion was made and the doritos of death impaled themselves in the chest of large fish beasts. They dropped to the ground dead.[break][break]
Looking at how it worked out put a smile on his face. The sub ability from his AoE is to weaken the life force of the attacked party. His next attack added extra bonus to things already hit. When they combined together it was a simple mess for him to take out some heavy hitters. Emir felt newfound strength enter his body. This was the first time he was taking his new subclass out to play. His stats took a noticeable rise in speed and power.[break][break]
The black motes started to shiver in the air again. A deathly dark energy surging about and hitting the rest of the monsters as well. It was empowered by the lives he had already reaped putting it in another level of damage dealing. Silence enveloped the place as all the other fish started dropping. The only one remaining was the one that was targeting Try before. Emir purposely left that one alone. He had already damaged it by culling. He did not want to complete the kill steal so he let Try deal with it.[break][break]
Emir’s shadow disappeared. Making it seem like he vanished in thin air. The black motes also vanished, reaching the end of his ability to call them. Emir hopped in his shadow and rapidly moved over to Try. He popped out of the ground to see a pale Try. Even in stealth Emir felt a bit bad. The shadows and darkness dissipated. Emir was simply chilling in the shadows of his own dark sand. It would make it look like only Try and the last monster was alive and around.[break][break]
“You can do it! Kick its butt. Sorry, about the friendly fire by the way.” Emir would comment from his stealth. It filled the area as if a phantom was speaking nearby.

Guild Rations - Heal a small portion of stamina and health when consumed. Great for long missions/ dungeons.

Notes Dark Shroud Boosts MAGI by 20%. Bringing my MAGI up to 57 (B). [attr="class",robtext] The nightwalker was taking everything in stride. He had not considered having a specific style when it came to battling. His abilities were more so for cover and did not have a lot in the way of damage. Thinking it over his best bet would be to take out the enemy in a single strike. At least till he can increase the destructive force behind his skills. “For the most part. It can be said that I can use a knife best. I mean I have done battle with a fencing sword but those are more style than function. Slashing would probably be better for me. I have more experience with it I would say.” Emir did not mention the fact that his dad had a fondness for ancient stuff from his family's past. Like the forefathers before him, Emir was taught to do battle with a khopesh. Not that anyone would use them anymore.
Emir was being outright with his blade talent. He would not improve if he was always terrible about it. He returned the laugh when Tali apologized for his excitement. “It is all good. I have the same excitement when it comes to fun things. This conversation is fun as is, so I am enjoying myself. Maybe it would be easier to show me some forms for striking.” Emir would give a wink at the word forms. He could not help himself being a polite flirt. It was down in his very nature. He had the charms and he never doubted his ability to use them. He would gently toss the knife in his hand as well. Catching it handle side as it came down.

unholy oil A bottle of flammable oil from a place that shall not be mentioned. You can coat 1 limb or a weapon with this oil once per thread. Once coated, that weapon or limb will burn with Dark blue flames. If land a physical attack with that weapon or limb, you will deal Bonus [MAGI]rank-2 damage. The flames will then go out and reappear after 3 post.
executioner’s khopesh - A crude blade with the faintest glem of blood on the blade. Deals damage equal to you [PWR], capping out at A-rank. Once every three posts, the blade can bypass 1 rank of the target’s [DEF].
black apple - Upon consuming, will cause your [MAGI] to increase by 30% for the following four posts. Can only be consumed once per thread.
Notes Handed over the Black Apple, Executioner's Khopesh, Unholy Oil, Broach of Black Scarab Beetle, Shroud of Midnight, and 250 points to Ollie. [attr="class",robtext]Emir was listening with rapt attention. He had never heard of someone with merchant abilities. It was an interesting concept. Emir was thinking he had struck gold when it came to this particular find. “Yeah. I can give you some of my gear to appraise. I need to take some time off to see about other things.”
The nightwalker took off his cloak. Revealing most of the figure that he had kept hidden. He grabbed his khopesh, the apple, the beetle, and the oil. Most of the stuff that he had kept with him. He had on his shoes and a few odds and ends but that was about it. He handed over the goods to Ollie. “I can make the down payment now. You can just get the rest of the amount when I swing by your shop. Is that okay?” He had completely forgotten about the flowers for the quest. He would wait till Ollie had his stuff stored before handing over the 250 deposit.
He would put his hands behind his hand in a relaxed manner. “We should probably get out of here why you look that stuff over. I am good but a lot weaker without my gear. I would hate for us to get killed.” Emir was nice and summoned the black sands from his powers to cover them in darkness. Then he put the both of them into stealth, deeming Ollie worthy. So they could get back to the teleporter without possibly dying.

Emir gave a mysterious smile. He was more than an AoE type of guy. The night walker enjoyed thinking of himself as a multifaceted killing machine. “Yeah. you can think so.” That was the way he had chosen to answer.[break][break]
When it was time to start fighting it out. Emir was pretty impressed by the way Try had jumped into it. Sure it was helpful that the creature came after him. The other creatures in the water did not look that slow. Emir figured the best way to lure them out was to start attacking. Black motes of darkness started appearing in the air. Like little insects they started to paint the area in a pitch black darkness. Emir used another ability and switched himself out with his shadow, as he entered stealth. The shadow proceeded to run into the water. Causing a splash. The creatures inside grew excited as they tried to dig into the Shadow Emir’s flesh.[break][break]
The real Emir was still on the bank. Watching Try fight as he pulled out his blade, he coated it in oil before putting the oil away. The he simply took out an apple and took a bite from it. All under the cover of stealth to keep the creatures and Try from seeing his preparation. From the information Emir gathered from his shadow. The creatures looked exactly like the previous one.[break][break]
Emir called his shadow from out of the water. This time the creatures all followed it out. Besides the one Try had. Emir was fighting nine of them by himself. The black motes in the air solidified in some places forming tentacles. The motes vibrated again and sent out a wave of dark force, damaging all ten. Even the one Try was fighting.[break][break]
“Now is the time you will want to defend or dodge for your life.” His shadow that came to the side of him, was the one that looked like it spoke audibly. It was the only warning to the full on black wind that started blasting about. Engulfing the monsters and all that were close.

Emir was ready to go. He did not mind answering a few questions as he was preparing to start work. “That is easy. Kill what you can kill. Run from what you can’t kill it.” Emir nodded his head as if he gave the best advice without even asking. The nightwalker was fine with showing off his level. Looking at Try he was moderately impressed. It was some time since he was level 10, it was just impressive that they made it there as well. Level 10 was still a beginner level.[break][break]
“You probably can. It is a pretty straight forward title.” Emir shot past Try when they started to slow down. It was not on purpose. Emir was walking very slowly as far as he was concerned. He just did not expect Try to pretty much stop. It was okay since they had pretty much reached their destination anyway.[break][break]
Below them. The pitch black water burbled. Glowing eyes could be seen peeking above the surface. Eyes that gave Emir a very familiar feeling. “Now. Do you think you would need me to handle it or you got it? I only ask because when I get started. I recommend staying ten meters away from me. Unless you can throw up a shield when I yell block.”

Emir was the social type. Evey was being kind and bubbly enough so it was easy for him to reciprocate. He gave a chuckle as he walked to their destination. “Feel free to call me Emir. Most do. Not a lot of people use my last name or title.” Not that Emir would tell such a fearsome title to a delicate looking flower.

“There is still a lot you can do. You can consider this mission as a bonus to the tutorial. I am sure I can handle it.” The nightwalker said it with an air of confidence. He was the type that was sure about his skills. It did not phase him that he was entering a potentially dangerous situation alone. “The main thing that you should be aware of. Inside the tutorial dying is pretty much implausible, not impossible, just hard to accomplish. Here the monsters are like us. Living in a sense and with a desire to do so. To keep themselves and their community safe, they will not hesitate to kill us. It sucks that we have to fight, but survival of the fittest and all. Keep in mind three rules. One, know where and how to exit. Two, protect yourself before anyone else. Finally, train and understand your own capabilities. Doing that and you should not have a hard time.”

“I am. Do you know one?” Emir flashed back his reply quickly and with a smile. He enjoyed matching conversation with a fellow smart ass.[break][break]
The nightwalker was being reviewed but did the same in return. He was surprised they would give a fake name. Even when Emir introduced himself with his title he would give out his real name. The surprise wore off quickly, they did not have to tell him anything. To be honest it was not like Emir was really interested. He just needed to match with a partner to take on the mission. As long as they refrained from holding him back it would all be good.[break][break]
After the brief pause Emir would respond. “Emir also called Death Harbinger. I will send you the party request. We can team up and be on our way.” Emir did as he said. He opened the menu and sent the party request. He did not say but he wanted to get this quest out the way as well.

ITEMS {Spoiler}shroud of midnight - A dark purplish shroud of silk that can magically extinguish any light 15 feet in diameter, up to 30 feet away from you for a single post every three posts. This shroud can protect up to a single instance of damage equal to your [DEF] or less once per turn. While equipped you gain +20% [MAGI].
wand of hot sands- An black oak wand that can telekinetically move unattended objects 10 ft. per round. The object must be within 15 feet and weigh 1 lb. or less. Fire a [basic] projectile equal to your [PWR] each round up to 20 feet, at your [SPD]. 4 posts after landing the first hit, all targets hit by this wand will take heat damage equal to your [MAGI]. The counter then resets.
dark soles - A pair of midnight black shoes that allow you to walk on uneven, unsteady, and difficult terrain with ease. When wearing these shoes you can gain +20% [SPD] three times per thread for 2 post.
Guild Rations - Heal a small portion of stamina and health when consumed. Great for long missions/ dungeons.
broach of the black scarab beetle- Three times per thread, you may cause this beetle to come to life. It can attack an enemy dealing -2 rank your [MAGI] each post for three posts. After the three posts are done, you will be healed of the total damage done. This can be broken by [PWR] +1 rank than your [DEF]. If broken, it will remain so for the remainder of the thread.
unholy oil A bottle of flammable oil from a place that shall not be mentioned. You can coat 1 limb or a weapon with this oil once per thread. Once coated, that weapon or limb will burn with Dark blue flames. If land a physical attack with that weapon or limb, you will deal Bonus [MAGI]rank-2 damage. The flames will then go out and reappear after 3 post.
executioner’s khopesh - A crude blade with the faintest glem of blood on the blade. Deals damage equal to you [PWR], capping out at A-rank. Once every three posts, the blade can bypass 1 rank of the target’s [DEF].
black apple - Upon consuming, will cause your [MAGI] to increase by 30% for the following four posts. Can only be consumed once per thread.

It was one of the basics for business. He could tell that Ollie was suddenly saddened about something. Emir was letting him dismantle the bear as he put away most of his battle equipment. “I don’t think we are done. I was just unsure as to how legit your abilities are in terms of sourcing. I am not used to a lot of things. The forums mention how some people have specific abilities for appraisal and even finding things. In general, since it is rude to outright ask what a person can do, I was trying to see your qualifications without being rude.” Emir would guess that it had to do something with his earlier comment and act accordingly, based on what he heard Ollie say.
“But the flowers in question are here.” Emir would pull out two small bundles of flowers from his robe. He followed the book and assumed them to be something. He was just not completely sold on them being exactly what he needed. The nightwalker did not want to waste all his time traveling back and forth. Hence, he had gone out of his way to higher Ollie in the first place. Depending on how this appraisal of sorts worked. He would continue to try and improve their relationship. Emir considered it better to have an egghead on good terms than anything else.

Emir checked himself out in the mirror. He made sure his hair was in order, and his smile was bright. The nightwalker was excited to see his date later. He was unable to see Nikolas since the time they had stayed on the island. The slaying of various kinds was fun. It was just too much to create a romantic scenario. That was the only reason he wanted to take some time off. He was set to head out when he got an alert. He could not resist taking up another assignment. It would just be a pit stop.

The nightwalker made his way over to the location to see who it could be. “Hello~ Anyone looking for a particularly handsome partner.” Emir spoke audibly when he made it. Getting into the guild is to be considered a status symbol as is. The guild only has a leader in name and the guild is co-owned by all the members in it. Instead the guild has these six laws. 1. There can only be up to six members in the guild at any point, and there can only be one of each anchor in the guild.[break][break]

ITEMS {Spoiler}shroud of midnight - A dark purplish shroud of silk that can magically extinguish any light 15 feet in diameter, up to 30 feet away from you for a single post every three posts. This shroud can protect up to a single instance of damage equal to your [DEF] or less once per turn. While equipped you gain +20% [MAGI].
wand of hot sands- An black oak wand that can telekinetically move unattended objects 10 ft. per round. The object must be within 15 feet and weigh 1 lb. or less. Fire a [basic] projectile equal to your [PWR] each round up to 20 feet, at your [SPD]. 4 posts after landing the first hit, all targets hit by this wand will take heat damage equal to your [MAGI]. The counter then resets.
dark soles - A pair of midnight black shoes that allow you to walk on uneven, unsteady, and difficult terrain with ease. When wearing these shoes you can gain +20% [SPD] three times per thread for 2 post.
Guild Rations - Heal a small portion of stamina and health when consumed. Great for long missions/ dungeons.
broach of the black scarab beetle- Three times per thread, you may cause this beetle to come to life. It can attack an enemy dealing -2 rank your [MAGI] each post for three posts. After the three posts are done, you will be healed of the total damage done. This can be broken by [PWR] +1 rank than your [DEF]. If broken, it will remain so for the remainder of the thread.
unholy oil A bottle of flammable oil from a place that shall not be mentioned. You can coat 1 limb or a weapon with this oil once per thread. Once coated, that weapon or limb will burn with Dark blue flames. If land a physical attack with that weapon or limb, you will deal Bonus [MAGI]rank-2 damage. The flames will then go out and reappear after 3 post.
executioner’s khopesh - A crude blade with the faintest glem of blood on the blade. Deals damage equal to you [PWR], capping out at A-rank. Once every three posts, the blade can bypass 1 rank of the target’s [DEF].
black apple - Upon consuming, will cause your [MAGI] to increase by 30% for the following four posts. Can only be consumed once per thread.
Notes Used two items and two abilities. Wand secondary effect kicked in deliviring A Rank damage to the bear plus the three basic instances of damage. The base MAGI is 58 the Black Apple and Shroud boosts it by 50%. It goes up to 87 (A). [attr="class",robtext]“Naw. We are good.” Emir made a response before unstealthing himself and running back at the bear. The poor confused creature looked at Emir and his shadow, before lunging at the shadow. Emir used the wand in one hand and blasted the bear again. The shadow and man lunged at the same time. Emir aimed for the neck and Shade Emir aimed for the legs. The bear was barreled over. Emir was ready to go for another strike, the bear released a guttural yell before flopping. The scent of burnt flesh started to linger in the air. It was an effect that Emir could recall. The wand was starting to burn the poor creature.
The compound damage that was being dished out and the effects of the burn was enough for the bear to drop dead. “I mean that was actually harder than I thought it would be. Sorry about that. I hired you for research and I put you in a battle. At least your battle ability is not bad. I just needed you to see if you could tell some patch of flowers apart. I mean anything else you could do would be a bonus.” The nightwalker started to pack up his gear and equipment. He was pretty much ready to call it.

Emir was thinking about who his partner was, when he heard his name. The young man turned and looked at a seemingly young looking lady. She had an innocent face and a gentle air. If he had to guess judging by how she said his name, he figured her to be Evey.

“Hello~” Emir called out in a singsong voice. He was friendly enough and thought it would be fun to meet this newcomer. He also assumed her a newcomer due to her lack of gear. Emir khopesh was equipped to him at all times. Only the newer people would like weapons or armor. He could not spot a weapon, the nightwalker was just unsure if she was wearing armor. “Are you Evey Bishop? I am Emir Nebu. Your partner for this monster slaying.”

The man put his hand out to shake in a nice greeting. “If you want we can get started. Do you have any experience in monster killing besides the tutorial?” Emir asked the question in a friendly voice and a nonchalant manner. He was only secretly judging the level of ability she would have. It was common for newcomers to forget that monsters outside the tutorial actually had a chance of killing you. The guy was good at killing but could not heal others. If he had to watch her as well he would have a harder time finishing his objectives.

Emir was feeling very excited. This was the first time he got to celebrate the upcoming holiday of love. His family was not keen on letting him choose who to celebrate with. To them it was more of a chance to try and match him up with a lady of their choice. They would even choose gifts like matching jets, a diamond mine, or something similar. Just flashy things of elegance that they could afford. This time Emir wanted to get something from the heart. Not that the man in his mind and him were a thing. They spent time together, had each other's backs, often teamed up just to hang out. It did not mean anything. Emir just thought Nik was slightly more tolerable than others.
