Hana was starting to worry about this pickup truck she'd been using around town. It seemed a little off in some way. But, she wasn't exactly experienced enough to know how much of a problem this was. Ollie had made sure she knew how to acquire more fuel for it and get that into the tank, but that was about as far as her expertise extended.

It wasn't like she could just drive it to an auto shop either. Even if there was one around, where would they get new parts? Maybe salvage them from all the stalled vehicles? But, you had to have the exact same type of truck then, right? Hana wasn't really sure how compatible things were. Would Earth-chan sell and create new parts? It would probably turn this plain brown truck into some sort of cartoon vehicle with turbo boosts and spiked wheels, and Hana didn't really want that.

For the moment, Hana was simply sitting in the driver's seat of the truck with the engine off, reading the manual she'd found in the glove compartment. It wasn't very helpful, honestly. Or very interesting. She could always abandon the truck and look for another, like when she'd found that cool van. But the truck had already come in handy a few times, and she felt some strange sense of loyalty to the beat up old thing.

Dee Dee was wandering around as she usually does, mostly just spending time with Kramer and her newest Ally Bombdee, thankfully the little guy wasn't as hot tempered as she thought he would be... then again it likely helped that she could easily communicate with the little Waddle-dee. But what did surprise her was the strength of the little guy, he was actually stronger then Kramer by a fair margin which was something that would come in quite handy in the next few missions they found themselves in that was for sure!

Walking along though Dee Dee was looking at some of the wrecked vehicles, she was aware that most technology didn't work anymore, apparently Earth-chan thought it wasn't any fun or something? Ether way though it did mean that any metals in the Vehicles could be made use of, things like Copper, Steel, you name it you could likely scavenge it off the vehicles and make something new with it! And that's what Dee Dee was out doing today.. well not quite yet, she was making a catalog of what there was to take, but in case she DID run into anything she might wanna take right away she had some tools with her from a body shop in the city that no one bothered with since they were basically useless due to vehicles not running anymore... also because she needed to scavenge the place to find all the needed tools.

As she continued on she noticed a truck with someone in it and she walked over trying to see who it was over the hood but to no avail since she was so short, so she walked around the side and instead she gently knocked on the drivers side door to get the person's attention, Kramer and Bombdee standing next to her as they waited to see who was in the vehicle. the short girl currently pulling a small wagon with her with the tools in it.

Hana looked up from the manual at the knock on her door. She peered out of the window first, blinking in confusion. After a moment, she glanced left and right, before finally looking down. "Oh! Um, hello?" What's with this...lost child?

"...do you need any help? Are your pa-" She cut herself off, having had bad a experience with the subject of parents herself. "Are you looking for someone? Something?" After a moment, Hana noticed the cartoonish creatures standing guard over the nearby cart. "...do you need a ride somewhere?" She kept guessing, as all three of them peered up at her.

Dee Dee waited quietly as she heard movement inside the vehicle, well it sounded like whoever it was in there wasn't sleeping, that was good, though as they peered out the window they totally missed her standing there and Dee Dee patiently waited for them to look down, which eventually they did, and she gave a little wave as they said hello to her. It was nice to meet a new person though she was surprised to see one spending time with the broken down vehicles and reading their owners manuals, but maybe they were really bored and had nothing else to do? This realization of course made Dee Dee wonder if she should try writing books for people to read or maybe Drawing Manga? she already had an Idea for silent puppet shows rolling around in her head as well as Ideas for a little food stall so it would be things to look into later.

Meanwhile here she was being greeted by the girl in the Truck and she was being asked questions, though the first one was cut off, though when she then asked if they were looking for someone she shook her head and then something was brought up and Dee Dee nodded. For the Girl to notice her wagon and ask if she needed a ride she quickly shook her head again and reached into her pocket for the notebook and took it out writing quickly. "Hello there! I am Dee Dee and over by the Cart are my friends Kramer and Bombdee, I was going around scavenging the vehicles around here for spare parts and reclaimable material for other uses and I seen you sitting in this truck and thought you were maybe doing the same? if so I can likely help find and remove any parts we find as I am a trained Mechanic". She stopped for a moment and read over what she wrote before looking up at the woman in the truck, then back at what she wrote and nodded before turning the notebook around and holding it up for the woman to read.

If the woman was looking for salvage that would be great, four people looking would likely be able to catalog and locate much more useful things in a shorter time span then just Dee Dee and her friends after all, however there was the issue of carrying it all back.. But they could do what Dee Dee was already planning, Catalog and then return with the needed transport..... Wait... did this woman ask her if she needed a ride?

Dee Dee suddenly looked up at the Woman and quickly Scrawled on the back of the Notepad she was holding up for her to read her time thinking having given the Woman plenty of time to read her intro of her and her friends. She then flipped the note book around and held it up with the words "Wait.. did you say give us a ride? Does... does this Truck work?"

Hana was preparing to play twenty questions when the girl pulled out a notepad. So, she kept her mouth shut and waited. Poking her head out of the truck's open window. Once the notepad was presented to her, she began to read. "Mmmhmm. Hello!" She smiled, before reading another sentence. "Ah, Dee Dee. I'm Hana."

"Oh, and uh, hello Kramer and...Bombdee." That was probably the one that looked like a walking bomb. Sure. Why was the dragon named Kramer, though? Anyway, moving on. Eyes flickering side to side as she continued to read the message. "Uh, no, kinda the opposite. I was trying to figure out why..."

Hana blinked as Dee Dee tuned the pad around to the opposite side. "Well, most of the vehicles actually work. If they're in one piece and still have gas. You just need a license. But yeah, I got one through an event." To demonstrate, she held up the truck's key before starting up the vehicle, letting it idle. The engine did sound a little off.

"If your class is Mechanic, maybe you can tell me what's wrong with this one, Dee-uh, Dee?" She needed to remember to be careful with the honorifics. They tended to slip out no matter what language she was speaking, and some people heard them differently.

Dee Dee waited for the Girl to finish reading though it seemed she somewhat cut her off, but this was important to know, seemed she needed a license to use a vehicle but they all worked if you could get the things needed to run them, that was great news! it meant she could work her way up to getting one and that would make travel and living a lot easier, it also meant she could do so many different missions easier as well, this was great information to have and so she put the notepad away and took out another and started to make notes on what Hana had said about the license and the vehicles working as it would be invaluable information.

As she wrote Hana had asked her a question regarding the Truck and she even turned it on, and it did sound... rough. To say the least she looked at it a moment and then walked to the front of the truck as Kramer and Bombdee walked over and gave her a boost as she popped the hood. Looking at the running engine she could already see a few issues right off the bat, the Belt was frayed and barely holding on, it was missing a few parts to the engine like the caps were missing but seemed to be badly patched to allow the engine to work somewhat properly, it even had a supercharger but it was in rough shape, and it's radiator had seen better days. Taking out her notepad Dee Dee Wrote down all the issues with the engine, the good news was none of it needed a full garage to fix. and some of the parts could just be mixed and matched from other vehicles as long as they were close enough in size, anything more like a full and proper fit she would need a full garage or a blacksmith to work on... the good news was she could also do some simple Blacksmithing... the bad news was she didn't have a forge or the tools required to do that kind of work right now.

As Kramer and Bombdee let her down Dee Dee walked over to the window once more and held up the notepad for Hana to read "You are missing a few engine cap sections, but whoever fixed this up before seemed to have patched them though it's a rough job but getting better fitted caps would help, you need a new Belt soon as the one your Engine currently has is frayed and looks ready to give out at a moments notice, You have a Supercharger but it's doing nothing for the engine in it's current state it would need some repairs to be useful again, and your Radiator is looking very rough and could use a replacement or your engine will just start to overheat" she then looked at it to make sure it had everything on it then she realized she hadn't seen under the body but she would need some jacks and blocks or at least a lift in a proper garage for a proper inspection on those and the tires so she added that as well. as she had Bombdee take a quick look at the wheels of the Vehicle to check the tires using her skill to see through his eyes and then changing to Kramers as they were checking the back for spare tires and tools for changing them before adding to the notepad.

"that's it for the engine as for the undercarriage I don't have the tools with me to check that, and your tired are balding and have a few spots where the treads are nearly worn through... and I don't see any spares on the trucks bed nor any tools for changing tires so we should probably try to find those for you too... properly matching tires would also be a good Idea... and more rugged ones considering all the off-roading you will likely be doing.. I worry about the condition of the suspension" Looking over her final notes... everything taking up a whole page of her notebook, she nodded and showed it all to Hana for her to read.

Hana waited to read another message, as she saw Dee Dee furiously scribbling. But, then she was walking around and fiddling with the hood before getting it open. "Um, is it safe to do that while it's running?" Hana looked worried, but she really had no idea how this worked. Nothing seemed to happen, so she relaxed for the moment, making sure not to touch the wheel or pedals.

Once Dee Dee returned to her window, she killed the engine and removed the key. "Uh, okay, that's a lot to read..." It took her a few long moments of concentrating to catch up, while the strange little creatures circled the vehicle. She was about to respond when the notepad was pulled back and more added to it. Hana took another long look at the latest message.

"...I'm sorry, I don't know what most of that means." She grinned sheepishly. "If it's in that kinda shape, maybe I should abandon it and look for something, uh, better? It was just the first one I found with a key inside, that started and had gas in the tank." Before Dee Dee could respond, she waved a hand to stop her and opened the door so she could step out.

Wow, she really was tiny. "Wait, before you write another note...first, is there a reason you can't talk to me?" Hana hesitated for a moment, before moving to sit on the front bumper of the truck, so she'd be a bit closer to eye level with Dee Dee. "Second, you can send text messages through the system." She pulled up a floating system menu, poking a few buttons until Dee Dee received a party invite, another popup appearing near the shorter girl's head. "You can just type in there. It saves paper." And maybe it would be faster, too.

Dee Dee listened to Hana realizing that Hana didn't know much of it well the good news was it could be fixed up at least finding parts would help, but before she could respond the girl told her to not write yet so she waited as asked, and stood there waiting as she explained further, and it turned out she could use the System to send messages! This was great news! she could save on Paper and make things easier on her.

She then tried out the system and typed very quickly "YAY Thank you this will save a lot on paper since it's so rare!" she sent her happily before she added another message as she wanted to inform her about he vehicle "The Truck should be able to be repaired, the parts could be scavenged from other vehicles around here and at least the engine issues would have been fixed, unless you wanna look for another vehicle in better condition?" she sent the next bit of info then remembered she asked about why she wasn't talking and she nodded a bit and sent her another message.

"I have a bit of a Communication issue... shy...But I can write!" she said looking to Hana after all that before she took out Tomato and handed it to her as she stood with her as she herself nibbled on one as she gave one to Kramer and Bombdee, as the three sat there happily eating the Tomatoes as she placed another by Hana as she continued to sit with her to wait for her reply.

Hana smiled at the other girl's reaction. "I'm glad I could help, Dee Dee." She moved the screen on her end slightly to the side so she could glance at it while talking to her. "Well, uh...this one is easy to drive. And it can carry a bunch of stuff in the back. But, if we're going to spend time fixing it up...I should probably find a safe place for it." She didn't think the system provided lodgings would allow vehicles. It might be worth a try, though.

"Huh? Well, I guess as long as it works for you." She'd heard of people who could only communicate online, but this didn't seem quite the same. However, she'd already met more than a few strange characters that turned out to be harmless. This wasn't really too strange, especially for a kid.

Suddenly handing over a tomato was a bit odd, though. "Uh, thanks?" Hana held it gently, trying to think of what she could do with it. Dee Dee and her companions were just digging in. After a moment, she removed a plate from her inventory, followed by a knife. And then, about half of a loaf of bread, along with some lettuce. "Uh, do you want a sandwich? I helped some farmers one time, and they gave me a bunch of food."

She began to slice up the tomato to properly fit between two pieces of bread, along with the lettuce. Storing the extra tomato and other items after she used them. "Maybe I could introduce you to them? I don't know where you're staying right now, but..."

Dee Dee was greatly appreciative for the information about the System, she really didn't know how to look for things for it after all, and wouldn't know who to ask about things so being told things was quite helpful, as they sat there and ate she listened to Hana saying that the truck was easy to drive as well as being useful for carrying a lot of things and looking at it, that was certainly true it would be quite a help in those situations, that just meant one thing then, they needed to fix it up, and Thankfully they could at least deal with the engine problem by Scavenging the other Vehicles around for the parts and material they needed, it was specialty tools that they lacked like the Jack or a Winch that would make any other work very hard but that could be dealt with later at least.

hearing she had the things needed for sandwiches Dee Dee looked up at, her eyes shining as the message came across "Yes please that would be great it's been a while since I had a sandwich!" and she gave her another few Tomatoes both as payment and so she could make some sandwiches for her and her two summons, if she was offering after all why not let Kramer and Bombdee enjoy a nice sandwich? This day was already turning out to be quite fruitful already.

Hearing her talk about some farmers and a bunch of food Dee Dee listened with interest, it was good to hear other people where helping out around where they could and she gave Hana a thumbs up for her work, encouraging being helpful was always a good thing after all, and it meant more people got along easier in the end all of which where good things especially since they were farmers so they made food for a lot of people not just themselves, Dee Dee herself would have to see if they needed some help some time down the road.

When asked where she was staying she started to type on the system "I don't really have a single place to stay at the moment, I just wander around and try to find a nice place to sleep, there are a few abandoned homes that are usable that I sometimes fix up to get a nights sleep in, but usually someone moves into it when I am gone so I have to keep looking again, but at least I can keep looking, if the other person needed a home that badly at least they have one now and I have the skills needed to fix one up to use later when I need one" she sent the message to Hana nodding a bit to what she had written. It really was okay with her, after all she could rather quickly fix up a place to sleep in for a night when needed so someone taking a place she already fixed up wasn't that much of a bother.

Hana happily sliced up the tomatoes, putting a few in each sandwich along with the lettuce. She didn't have much else to spice these up with, but the tomatoes seemed juicy enough. After a few minutes, she held out the plate towards Dee Dee, with four sandwiches on display. While she waited for everyone to make their selections, Hana made sure the extra ingredients were stored away for later.

Munching on her own snack, Hana waited for Dee Dee to type, watching the floating screen. "Mmm, these are pretty good. Thanks." She smiled, before responding to the message. "Yeah, that's what I did at first too. I don't know how your Tutorial went, but...have you starting doing any missions yet? Even if you avoid the dangerous ones, there's a lot that are just, like...boring delivery work." She pointed a thumb back towards the bed of the pickup truck as a reminder.

"A lot of people - most people - just kinda...lucked out in the Tutorial and someone else cleared it without them even knowing what was going on. I mean, the ones that are here, now, and sur...uh...made it through." Hana didn't want to say anything too upsetting. "So they've got mostly useless classes, and don't interact with the system at all. Or they work jobs directly for Earth-chan, and get supplies that way."

Hana popped the empty plate back into her inventory as she finished her sandwich. "But, once you start, well...playing the game the way Earth-chan wants, and doing missions and gaining levels and stuff..." She pointed to the floating system menu again. "You can purchase most of the supplies you need. Including somewhere safe to sleep. It's really plan and boring, but, it's way more comfortable to sleep in The Hub. There's restaurants and movies and stuff, too. If you don't mind dealing with Earth-chan."

With the presented Sandwiches Dee Dee took one and Bombdee and Kramer both take one as well and the three of them enjoy the sandwiches, Dee Dee was quite happy with the offered food, Tomatoes where great but sometimes one needed more then just a Tomato to nibble on.

Hana then started to explain things, The missions made sense, after it did help get things after all and helped people, and she started to take notes on her notepad on what Hana was talking about, the so called boring ones where still useful for getting points and rewards, she had to wonder if everyone knew this though? As Hana Continued Dee Dee though back to her own Tutorial The person with her at the time seemed capable so by the sounds of it she might have gotten lucky considering Hana mentioned most people had the tutorial done for them by others and they never learned out to use their class, but the Idea that some just had Classes that were useless? That didn't sound right the Classes had to have a use right? Maybe they just didn't figure out what the use was simply because they didn't try to experiment with it? Dee Dee herself was still trying to figure out her own skills and was just using them in a certain way and they seemed to work that way so it's why she did it like that.

As she continued to listen though it sounded like Hana had a decent grasp on things going on, though if she had a Vehicle it meant she was likely here for a while what with her having enough points to buy a working one? She wasn't really sure how that worked out, maybe she got it from the mystery option she seen when she leveled up? does that mean She herself could get a vehicle? she should ask that after Hana was done explaining, Listening on Dee Dee had no clue she could just, use points for a place to sleep and even more surprised to hear you could get other supplies! Dee Dee had just been bartering for supplies usually when she needed a more filling meal. just when walking around so much she chose to travel light with just some Tomatoes rather then a bunch of heavy stuff even hearing about a place that had restaurants' and movies? what? she blinked a bit at hearing all this news and then she sent a message to Hana.

"You can get supplies from the system? I have been bartering for mine with things I scavenge... and.. where did you get a working car? I thought all more modern technology stopped working? and the hub? what's that? and Purchase? there is a shop? I am very confused..." Dee Dee looked at her rather confused having not even known of the existence of the system shop or the Hub at all. and she was taking notes at the moment finishing up writing what Hana had said in her notebook and seemed to be waiting for her to answer her question so she could continue writing her reply.

Finishing her sandwich, Hana nodded along as she read through the message. "Yeah. The cost for basic food and stuff, or a room to sleep in, is so low it's not worth worrying about. But there's daily limits, and sometimes it won't even show you the option unless you're playing along." She thought for a moment about how to explain further.

"Earth-chan doesn't seem to care about people, or our safety. It just wants us to interact with the...game, I guess. But it knows we need to eat and sleep and everything to keep entertaining it, so..." She shrugged. "If you do what it wants, things are easier. If you refuse, or aren't interesting enough..." Hana gestured around at all the ruined buildings and abandoned vehicles.

"I just searched a bunch of trucks until I found one with a key inside. It turned on and still had fuel, that's all. You can open the doors and have the key, but without a license it just won't start." At the other questions, Hana opened another menu and scrolled through it a bit, before turning the popup around where Dee Dee and her companions could see. "That's the store, and there's the uh...waypoint system. Fast travel? I don't know if you've played any video games. I wasn't really into them, except a few on my phone, even when I was your age."

Dee Dee was surprised to hear all this but she made sure to continue to write all this down, her hand a blur as she kept up with what Hana was telling her, this was all really good information that maybe some people didn't know and it would be very handy to have something to take note of that could help, especially if there was people who couldn't quite understand what was going on or how things worked. As she Wrote faster to get all the information she would take bites of her Sandwich so she wasn't letting the bread get dry.

As Hana explained next about what she Thought About Earth-chan Dee Dee continued to take notes, so if you played along with the world as it was you would have the things you needed to live, and if you didn't that would make life harder for you unless someone helped you out of their own efforts, this was both worry-some but also enlightening, though how accurate was it? Then again she had been getting points for doing things and apparently you could get Necessities from this shop thing so likely Hana's account was fairly accurate on things.

The Second issue was if Earth-chan found you to be boring, by the sounds of it that would cause the same issues as not playing along with the world as it was now, to be fair life was always hard if you didn't go with how the world worked, before it was money issued by governments now it was points given by the world itself. If someone was rich in this new world they would have had to work to get there to earn the points from the system, it was odd to hear that, some might think this better, but at the same time it could also be seen as worse in other respects. Though Dee Dee didn't bother chasing that thought line mostly cause she knew she wasn't bright enough to come up to an answer other then she would go along with this to keep going and survive and to help as many people as she could.

She was really glad she ran into Hana, that meant technically all the vehicles worked, they just needed this License she was talking about so it would be something rather important. Finishing off her sandwich Dee Dee started to rapidly sketch the popup of the store and how to get to it, her hand flying across the page as she made a rough sketch of things and then added more detail with a description, and adding a few arrows with annotations to point to things, as she figured she would add more detail to the sketch later.

She also noted down the waypoint and Fast Travel system, adding it to the notebook as she nodded to her Question about games, having caught up in her notes Dee Dee then started to type out a message to Hana "This is all very good information, thank you, as for the Truck I can repair the engine if you want? Most of it is easily replaceable from the other vehicles around here and I have some basic tools with me. As for the other things replacing the tires should be easy if we find a car Jack, and the proper tool to take the nuts off the wheels, which if we are lucky they might have some in one of the cars here if they have a road safety kit, and we just need tires that will fit the truck which should be most tires available so just some good ones from the vehicles here would do the trick" she sent the message.

During this whole exchange Bombdee and Kramer where enjoying the sandwiches, Dee Dee always made sure to feed them as well as she ate, but that also meant when out wandering they were all reduced to more simple meals like dried stuff or the Tomatoes she always had with her, the good news was they rarely ran out of food cause she would always stock up through barter, the bad news was the selection and taste was low except for the Tomatoes.
