sebastian Tommy had always been a brave and ambitious player in the virtual world. He had faced numerous battles with monsters that were generated by the system, but there was one thing he had not yet experienced - fighting against other players. As he continued to grow stronger, he realized that the world around him was constantly evolving. Other players were also becoming stronger and more ambitious. He knew that eventually, conflicts would arise between players, and he wanted to ensure that he was ready when the time came. At level twenty-five, Tommy was closer to the maximum level than he had ever been before. He knew that planning would be essential, especially since he had recently unlocked his subclass. Before finalizing his plans, he wanted to assess his current abilities. He decided to reach out to Sebastian, an acquaintance he had braved two dangerous missions with. Despite being mercenaries for different reasons and goals, Tommy felt that Sebastian was someone he could challenge to a battle. He sent a message to Sebastian, asking if he was up for a challenge. Tommy felt confident that he could take on anyone, but he also knew that Sebastian was a formidable opponent. Despite this, he waited patiently by the sleeping colossus, using his mask and ability to remain invisible. Tommy was eager to see if Sebastian would accept his challenge and show up to fight. As he waited, Tommy's thoughts wandered to the future. He knew that his journey was far from over, and that he would face many more battles in the virtual world. He wondered what other challenges awaited him, and whether he would be ready for them. But for now, all he could do was wait for Sebastian and see how he measured up against his fellow player. bss - business stealth suit - A business suit that acts similar to armor. It is shock absorbent, and protects from damage equal to your [DEF] stat. When In the shadows or darkness you are translucent to see and gain stealth equal to your [SPD].
sturdy suitcase - A business suitcase, this suitcase is empty, at will it can be used to access your inventory, in addition the suitcase can be used as a shield equal to your [DEF] +1 rank.
decent dagger - A single edged 13 inch dagger, good for cutting. This dagger can be used to deal [basic] damage equal to your [PWR] once per turn. [basic] damage caps at rank B.
black shoes - A pair of black dress shoes they remove the sound your footsteps make. Unless someone’s [WIL] is higher than your [SPD] they will not hear your movement.
stopwatch - A golden dusty stopwatch with a silver button. When the button is pressed The stopwatch records your position, your physics (such as momentum), and your body's position. This is stored for up to 3 post. After 3 post, you will be warped back to that position in the same position you were in when you pressed the button. You can release the button to achieve this affect sooner. After warping back, your watch goes on a 3 post cooldown.

Truth be told, he had been curious to see where he staked up against other players and Enigma was one of the few people that he was friendly with that would provide him a challenge. One could only fight so many monsters before it became stale. "Besides I'm most likely going to be running into stronger and more intelligent monsters soon so it'd be a good idea to learn any flaws now." he thought before sending Enigma a confirmation.[break][break] Opening his eyes after the teleportation, Sebastian immediately glanced around, taking stock of the environment. As Sebastian arrived, Tommy remained sitting there, observing him carefully. He waited for a full 30 seconds to see if Sebastian would notice him at all. When Sebastian didn't react, Tommy instinctively thought that having a subclass was a powerful advantage that shouldn't be underestimated. He believed that it could be used in many different situations, depending on how it was used. With this thought in mind, Tommy stood up and walked towards Sebastian silently, turning off his stealth and giving Sebastian a small wave. Tommy wanted to make sure that the game was fair for both of them. He didn't want to choose the location and have an unfair advantage over Sebastian. So, he decided to meet him in a neutral place. "I didn't want it to be unfair with me choosing the place and having the element of surprise," Tommy said, looking around. He took out a cigarette and put it in the corner of his mouth. He took a decent-sized pull before blowing the smoke out to the side. He wanted to make sure that Sebastian understood the rules of the game before starting. "I guess I should give you some details before we begin. You know about subclasses, right? What you experienced when you first arrived here was the result of mine. Based on your level, which is the same as mine, you should also meet the criteria for getting your subclass as soon as you get the points for it. I already consider you pretty strong, and you'll be even stronger after you get your subclass."Tommy wanted the PvP to start in a more traditional sense. He believed that it would add more excitement to the game. However, he wanted to make sure that the safety features were in place to prevent any mishaps.
"The thing about this place is that certain areas have PvP enabled automatically, with Stonehenge being one of them," Tommy explained. "I wanted it to at least have the realistic situation of something happening and having you react to it, but a duel request through the system has a safety feature that automatically has you surrender and safeguards your life when you get to the lethality level of your health. However, I doubt that things have to go that far since it also has the surrender option which would notify the person you’re dueling as well. It also has a countdown of 5 seconds, so we can start after you accept my duel request."Tommy was excited to see how the game would unfold. Enimga still hadn't answered him back yet which was more of a cause for concern for the spider teen.[break][break] Just as he began planning his exit, Enigma shimmered into existence some steps away and waved at him. Sebastian gave back a two-finger salute though he was still wary of the situation. While Enigma was someone that he got along with and had somewhat gotten to know from the previous encounters, that didn't mean that the teen would be fully trusting of him. Friends betray each other all the time after all, otherwise, his family wouldn't have run such a successful business.[break][break] "Enigma. I was beginning to think something had happened to you when you didn't respond." he said in a nonchalant tone as he walked toward the mask-wear. Internally, the teen's mind was going into overdrive as he tried to dissect Enigma's ability. "How did he turn invisible? I couldn't even sense him. I have to come up with some way to detect that."[break][break] Sebastian listened carefully as Enigma talked about subclasses; something that he had seen previously in the system messages but had decided to put off since he wasn't anywhere near being able to purchase one, as well as pvp. "I had actually been planning to buy a subclass soon. Been saving up points and going on various missions to earn more for it. Gotten pretty close too." he stated before faux blushing at Enigma calling him strong. "Oh Enigma. You don't need to flatter me so much." he said as he glanced away coyly. When he turned back around, his face was back to its trademark grin as the bulges in his shirt moved, crawling along before revealing the 5 spiderlings that he had made earlier.[break][break] "In the interest of keeping things fair, thought I'd show these little guys to you." Sebastian said as he stroked the head of one of the spiderlings.[break][break] If there were no further questions, Sebastian would walk back until there were about 5 meters of space between the pair before accepting the PVP request. "Let's have an entertaining match shall we?" would be his last words before the countdown ended and his spiderlings charged toward Enigma, fangs at the ready to deliver a poisonous bite.[break][break] {Stats}

sebastianTo be fair, Sebastian also revealed his hand, which is something Tommy could respect. Most of the time, people enter conflicts without revealing their cards. But as Tommy mentioned beforehand, he wanted things to be fair between associates if the entire ordeal was supposed to be a growing experience for both of them. The spiderlings caught Tommy off guard. Was Sebastian always able to summon them? Did he have spider sense as well? It would be quite surprising if he did.
"Alright, let's do this."
Initially keeping a distance from each other, Sebastian and Tommy moved back when the countdown reached zero. Tommy vanished into thin air and stepped back three feet using his Dokkebi stealth. His shoes added to the stealth by making his steps silent and his footsteps invisible. From his vantage point, Tommy could see and nimbly avoid the spiders going in his direction, circling Sebastian instead to get a little closer to his blind spot or side while maintaining a 15-foot distance. As a counterattack from 15 feet away, Tommy launched a whimsical butterfly directly at the spider queen himself to attempt to deal damage to him. Your mask becomes a vital part of your class, and when abilities are in use, shimmers with rippling patterns of pink and purple light. He himself had been somewhat disturbed by them at first but they've since grown on him and he'd come to love them in his own way. "Of course, they don't just look pretty but what would be the fun in telling."[break][break] With the match starting, Sebastian wasn't surprised to see that Enigma turned invisible once again. It was a powerful ability and he had already learned that Sebastian had no way of seeing through it leaving the teen with the only option of trying to sus out his location using his spiderlings.[break][break] "Of course, he already changed locations. He must have some sort of stealth effect or something to muffle the sound of his footsteps." Sebastian thought as his eyes darted around his surroundings. He had no idea which angle Enigma would be attacking from but he would be ready to react to it. He quickly created another 5 spiderlings; releasing them from his hands and recalled the first batch, encircling himself in a barrier of 10 baseball-sized spiderlings.[break][break] He didn't have to wait long either as a flash of light appeared in his peripheral vision, revealing itself to be one of the mask wear's signature butterflies. Regardless of how the first attack had panned out, Enigma realized that distance was a key factor in the match, and he began to think of a more effective way to attack if faced with another player. He considered the speed of his projectiles and realized that he would need to work on increasing it to hit his target. Sebastian had sent spiders in the direction of the attack, but Enigma's powers and equipment gave him an advantage in avoiding detection. Enigma continued to move while firing attacks, maintaining a distance of 15 feet from Sebastian. He knew that the spiders had no way of tracking him beyond that distance, so he circled to the left while keeping the gap, relying on his speed and element of surprise to attack. Realizing that defeating the spiders was a waste of time, Enigma stuck to his plan of targeting Sebastian. He launched another attack, this time a whimsical shape with a squiggly line pattern that slithered through the air in a confusing trajectory to throw off Sebastian before attempting to strike him. Enigma's command of magic allowed him a little more wiggle room for how complicated the attack could be. As Enigma continued his attack strategy, he thought about how he could improve it further. He considered different angles and trajectories for his attacks, anticipating Sebastian's moves and trying to stay one step ahead. Given that this was a friendly match and they were in a bit of a dangerous area, he couldn't really use most of his techniques. He rather liked Enigma and accidentally slicing off a limb or something out of carelessness wouldn't be a smart move for continuing their potential partnership.[break][break] "He seems to be holding back at least though this definitely shows that I need to put more stats into speed if anything" the teen thought as he quickly spawned another 5 spiderlings before using one as a shield against Enigma's energy attack.[break][break] "That attack isn't that strong either. Given that each of the spiderlings has my vitality as health, that could mean that it's at least C rank." the teen deduced as he gave a brief glance over at the injured spiderling. It had taken a significant amount of damage from the energy blast, getting covered in slices of all things. "You'd think it'd burn since its energy."[break][break] With his 15 spiderlings surrounding him on all sides, Sebastian began to think what exactly he could do to win this match before realizing that they hadn't actually set any conditions. Feeling stupid, he called for a time-out from Enigma so that they could establish the rules for this match.[break][break] "Pause. Hey Enigma, just realized that we never really set any rules or win conditions for this match. What say we go with the first one to use an ability or get injured loses? Enigma was deep in thought, wondering if Sebastian was thinking the same thing. This was a battle of attrition, and it would continue for a while if neither of them emerged as a clear winner. But Enigma had a nagging feeling that the spiders could soon cover the area, leaving him with nowhere to stand without being close to one of them. It was a precarious situation, but Enigma still had his range. As long as Sebastian couldn't guess Enigma's maximum range for manipulation and accuracy, Enigma still had an advantage. Regarding the agreement to leave it to the first person to receive damage without using new abilities or skills, Enigma suggested adding a stipulation with the use of a private message. He thought speaking out loud could be a trap and didn't want to give himself away. If Sebastian agreed, it would be safer to communicate through a private message. Sebastian was glad to hear Enigma agreeing to his conditions. This was a perfect opportunity to test just how far he could do with his new ability and he wanted to use it to the fullest. Just as he was about to voice his content though, he noticed that the spiderling that had taken Enigma's attack wasn't okay at all. In fact, it literally fell to pieces right in front of his eyes![break][break]
"My baby!" he screamed out before suddenly gripping his chest and falling to his knees, teeth gritting as if in pain. "Enigma you fucking bastard! You murdered one of my children! How could you do such a thing!?" The teen spoke, his voice coming across as harsh.[break][break]

He had already mentally resigned himself to losing this match given the win conditions that had been set but he wasn't that upset about it. Rather, he enjoyed that he got to see just how far he could take his new spiderling creations.[break][break] "Might as well go out with a bang then." the teen thought, smiling to himself as he spotted the swarm of butterflies forming 18 feet away from his position. Enigma probably thought that he wasn't able to react due to mental trauma and was taking advantage.[break][break] "Good decision. At least it would be if I felt anything from my spiderlings being destroyed." he thought as he sent the command to the spiderlings to disperse and charge at the last location before detonating. He himself had quickly formed 5 additional spiderlings in his hand before tossing each one at where he had seen the attack form before they burst into silk, hopefully managing to catch Enigma.[break][break] "Can't believe I didn't think to do this earlier." he cackled as he threw the spiderlings. Enigma was taken aback when the spiderlings were commanded to charge. He couldn't believe it. Did he just get tricked? For a moment, he thought that he might have underestimated Sebastain's mental fortitude and maybe he should have suspected something. He had made the correct choice, but he couldn't help but feel a little uneasy. At the same time, he knew that it would have been crazy if he didn't try to take advantage of the situation. So when Sebastian threw the spiders, Enigma was rather relieved that he was able to avoid them with his faster speed. However, he knew that he had to be careful. He quickly adjusted his position, moving closer to Sebastian and shortening the distance between them by a few feet to make the distance between them 13 feet. This was done to keep Sebastatain near the epicenter of his next move. Enigma took out his identification card and activated the smoke production ability. It might not have made sense since Enigma could already be invisible, but he ended up creating a black smog that was 20 feet in diameter around him. The smog's main purpose was to attempt to engulf Sebastain's vision for the next move while using the black smog to cover the ignition of Enigma's attacks. Of course, Enigma knew that he wouldn't be able to see Sebastian either. But he had an idea. By following the context of the rules promoted by Sebastian, Enigma decided to use his sixth sense skill "gut feeling" to check against his card. It was a loophole, but Enigma had enough respect to not break his promise to Sebastian. And it worked - he could sense exactly where Sebastian was. With his core ignition now being shrouded as well, Enigma decided to use this distraction as another final attack attempt. He sent a whimsical shape of a cylinder-shaped projectile targeted at Sebastian. The projectile was designed to be unpredictable, with its shape changing constantly as it flew towards its target. Enigma knew that it was a risky move, but he had no other choice. He had to take the chance if he wanted to win this fight. stats

"Seems we've reached the climax of this battle." Sebastian whispered under his breath as a cloud of smoke began to form before engulfing a 20 feet radius. It was clear at this point that his hail mary attack had failed but he had learned a lot from this fight as well as learning where he was lacking.[break][break]
"I need some way to detect opponents in stealth. I doubt that this will be the only time that I run into someone with this ability." he mused as he waited to see what Enigma's finishing move would be. He still glanced around to see if he could perhaps spot Enigma moving about, but that proved to be impossible.[break][break]
He didn't have to wait long as a flash of light appeared in the darkness, moving toward him. Sebastian dodged enough to the side so as to just get a light cut across his cheek, thus bringing an end to the match.[break][break]
"Seems you win the match Enigma." Sebastian stated, clapping theatrically as the smoke slowly dissipated revealing the cut on his cheek. Unbeknownst to the pair, from up in the trees in the forest, a beast had been watching the match from the branches before slipping back into the trees.
