Secret message, hi | [attr="class","wick13reescroll"] [break][break] A sigh of relief, the noise had gone. Fowl had shut his eyes the moment he stepped on the tube, letting the orchestral music from his headphones fill his ears. He sighed, his hands sweaty and gripping the bars, his finger tapping the pole rhythmically to the tune of the song. The world had melted away, literally, as his eyes were shut for that brief moment. [break][break] "Next stop, Ha-"[break][break] The tube announcement broke into static, which he just barely heard through his headphones, as if it had come from inside his mind, rather than the external shell of this underground death trap. [break][break] Fowl let out a confused, "Huh?" as he opened his eyes, taking a sharp intake of breath to find the scenery around him different to where he should have been. Very different in fact. A lot of people were missing, that were here only seconds ago. There were no other carriages attached to the one he was on, and looking out the window, was a stream of lights that arced around them - like he was travelling through space.[break][break] His eyes darted down to the noticeable blue glow coming from below, positioned high enough for him to notice. Fowl looked around, seeing the confusion on other people's faces too at the strange holographic pop-up. Only, it wasn't just a hologram, he saw someone tap the screen, and it vanished with an animated 'pop!'[break][break] Fowl followed suit, mostly to get rid of the thing that seemed attached to his very being.[break][break] Storm Rider selected.[break][break] "Well, that's a little mu-" The world fell away as the train melted from view, and the space around him became something comforting. A gentle breeze, the sound of song birds, and a pleasant green dancing around him. [break][break] One by one, the slow loaders would arrive in the scenic grass fields of Mongolia, with nothing but the grass, mountains and sky at their finger tips. Fowl couldn't help but fumble slightly from the disorienting transportation, kneeling down for a moment as he caught his breath, gingerly peeling his headphones off him and placing them round his neck. [break][break] Peace.[break][break] There were others arriving too, appearing in a flurry of blue pixels, like they were being thrown out from somewhere, shunted, even.[break][break] Fowl stood up, brushing himself down, then holding his hands out into the grass that washed around him, covering everyone that stood in it from the waist up depending how tall or short they were. The man's eyes wandered across the fields, to the edge where a strange boundary seemed to be forming, a wall of light stacking up higher and higher until it created a screen of sorts. On said screen were big words that flicked through various languages. .[break]

[attr="class","withoutyouascroll"]Raina was at another day of work, the marble colored building of her second workplace, a olympic swimming pool area inside a gym owned by a larger cooperation, she didn’t allow herself to get to tangled in the specifics of how her job worked but rather the only thing she cared about was saving lives, and enjoying the water, it had been a few hours after her work and nobody was using it, she hadn’t eaten yet but she did have an hour break so she decided to dip into the pool for a swim. [break][break]
Leaning towards the water and with a quick bend of the knees and allowing herself to leap off the edge she was airborne all but a few milliseconds before the cool sensation of the pool water washed over her skin and she was embraced by the water depths. Eliza loved to be in water more than anything else, inside it she felt safe like nothing could hurt her and she felt a calmness that focused her mind like nothing else. She only wished she could breathe longer before having to come up for air![break][break]
Extending the feeling as long as she could she did eventually have to come up, popping out of the water with a audible relieved gasp as she sucked air back into her lungs, wiping the water off her face and seeing that she was still in the water but the whole landscape had changed around her, the room had extended far past it was before and the room looked almost infinite and she could see a door. [break][break]
“What in the world..” Eliza said to herself pushing out of the water and grabbing her towel and walking towards the only door in sight that was not even in the same location as she door she knew. Grabbing the knob and opening it directly on the other side was a mechanical glass windowed door, like one you would find on a train as it slid open, at this point Eliza went into shock and curiosity and her feet moved her to the other side of the door where she was actually now in a train. Looking back she realized the door had vanished and outside was no other carriages. “Holy shit.” It was at this moment she heard a multitude of ding sounds that caught her attention, immediately in front of her about eye level, was a small blue square window and on it read, “Do you accept your class?” With the yes and no option. She was hesitant but she could see a lot of people click yes while others were offered different options, Eliza choosing yes. [break][break]
Sea Skipper selected.
At that exact moment Eliza mind felt like she did in the ocean, calm and serene as she could feel the ocean even while on the train, but only for a moment as the next moment blow her mind entirely out of focus, the train or even reality itself melted away as they seemed to be transported into a grass field. “Oh dear god, what now..” Eliza said to herself as she stepped forward and felt something wet underneath her foot, looking down she was standing on a large puddle of water collected into a miniature lake, but she was standing on it like solid ground.. [break][break]
Walking off the puddle she felt a similar sensation that she associated with being wet or having a body part in water but she couldn’t see it, no.. she could feel it? Focusing on the feeling Eliza began pulling the same type of water from the surrounding area itself into a large orb of water. “Wow..” Eliza was now in full blown shock which is why she probably didn’t see the whole tutorial screen despite being right by it. Dee Dee was Happily sitting to rest in the guild's garden when she got a notification pop up, she looked at it and realized she had another tutorial request, though it seemed it was a rather large group this time around, and so she sat up and got a few snacks as she was connected to the tutorial and she sat comfortably getting ready to help the people in the tutorial. ------------------------- To everyone in the field the large screen would shrink down as the words "Tutorial starting Guide Contact... please wait, your Survival is important to us..." and it started to play waiting music. But after a few minutes it stopped and the words "Guide found you have been assigned Waddle-Dee Dee! Good luck!" and then the screen changed. The Screen showed a nice hilly background, much like the one they were standing in, and off from the side of the Screen a Small round Waddle-dee scooted into view and waved to everyone while a word bubble popped up from the Animated Avatar "Hello everyone I am Waddle-Dee Dee! And I will be your guide for your tutorial! I know you likely all have many questions, but first things first, you need to learn how to use your system menu, so first, you will access your menu, now you can do this by simply saying or thinking the word Menu or System and it should appear, however some people find it helpful to assign it to something, like a phone or something that already has a screen as visualizing it is important, so please give it a try!"As the little Animated Avatar waited for everyone to try she continued to fill them in on things, "Now while your going through that I will explain what's going on somewhat, at the moment you are in your Tutorial, this is to help you learn how to use your powers and abilities, and get familiar with your classes, however please realize that creatures here will be weaker then in the new real world, that doesn't mean you should assume you are safe from them, you can get injured in the tutorial, so please take this seriously, as what you learn here will help you survive out in the real world!" a few of the other people were already looking through their stats and classes as Waddle-Dee Dee explained, the information staying up on the screen as text and any new info coming up as new text on a new line so they wouldn't miss anything. "Now I am sure you all noticed I said real world, at the moment you are in a tutorial world, which is separate from the real world, you were basically put in a kind of storage while earth-chan, the entity that runs the system that has given you your classes and abilities, figured out how to set things up for you, so while everyone all over the world entered this kind of limbo at the same time, the tutorials are actually happening at different times so once you leave you will see the world has not just come to a complete stop and everyone if getting out of their tutorials all at the same time, some people have been out for years, and so there is a community and civilization out there, it's just must changed from what you know of from before the flash! so while you all get accustomed to reading all this are there any questions?" the cute avatar stood there waiting for any questions. ------------------------ Back at the Guild Dee Dee was looking at the Tutorial info and she blinked a bit, apparently the group hadn't been given their tutorial goal yet and the system was apparently filling her in on it now, apparently she was going to be the one to tell them what the tutorial was, well she was a guide after all so it made some sense. fowl tern Raina |

They send us right back." Another chipped in, hunching his shoulder's slightly and yawning, as if annoyed by the thought.[break][break] "Well, someone do someth-" One's sentence was broken by a notification interrupting them, but the message it gave was interesting, causing the blue boxes to appear over the heads of everyone that could read it, followed by the larger screen of some kind of guide appearing in the sky.[break][break] Fowl stared blankly ahead as the Waddle-Dee Avatar announced their introduction on the screen that the world had settled around everyone, not speaking, just listening, hearing what they had to say. Watching the text roll out like it was a literal chat box. Fowl, doing as told, would summon the menu screen before him, much like the initial notification that popped up from Earth-Chan. It immediately came up with the initial details of his own stats, abilities and general information, just like from a game. [break][break] "Does everyone get a... What was it again?" Fowl tapped his chin, staring up at the strange avatar in a virtual grass landscape, "A Waddy Guide?"[break][break] He knew it was wrong from the moment he said it, but shrugged it off regardless, unable to hold back a slight smirk from his own error. Was this thing friends of Earth-Chan? Fowl narrowed his eyes, flicking through his menu quickly, still trying to process the sudden upheaval of his existence and understanding of the universe. Curious, he lifted a finger and started tapping the screen of the adorable little dude, wandering if he could physically interact with an avatar on his screen. "Are. You. Sentient?" He would ask with each tap, the screen shaking somewhat in response. [break][break] "Skyclad..." The man repeated the words on his ability page, skimming it quickly, and simultaneously feeling the rush of wind around him. It was hard to tell if this was a unique effect, or simply the natural weather of this place. But after pondering on the ability for several moments, felt his body lift up from the ground, wind whipping around his limbs like blankets, a subtle turquoise glow emanating from his hair and eyes. as it floated upwards. "A- Ah!" it was hard to keep his balance, like trying to stay upright on a bungee cord. [break][break] .[break]

The Waddle-Dee Dee in the smaller screen with Fowl flailed a moment at the poking, as the screen shook from the taps and a little word bubble popped up "Gah nuuu stop it no poking! I am Sentient Stop poking mes please" he would hear other people chuckle and mutter as he could see a few others doing the same, though others that didn't seemed to look over at those doing so and even the larger window with the larger version of The Waddle-Dee Dee guide seemed to not notice, he could hear some girl going on about how she didn't like it as it was to cutesy, another person asking if they got to keep them or if they were tutorial only, and a lot of other questions which judging by the nods of understanding that followed they were likely all getting their answers. -------------- Back at the guild base Dee Dee was looking at the Tutorial mission and she entered in the information into the screen, this was the first time she had to actually update the people like this, Earth-chan seemingly making her enter the info for the Tutorial for the people to see, though when it came up it came up like a normal notice rather then Waddle-Dee Dee saying it Likely earth-chans way of keeping Waddle-Dee Dee trust worthy, after all one would want the Tutorial guide to be trusted by the players right?. though the difficulty increase wasn't true, as she read the info it was seemingly there to make people take the whole situation more seriously, which was a good thing, from what she could see of the monster stats they were still easily within the same range as other Tutorials she had helped in but there was a notice to her not to tell the people in the tutorial that or else it really would increase the difficulty. ------------- Back with everyone Waddle-Dee Dee was answering the questions of people on their smaller screens at the moment and when Fowl asked his "Yes it's possible to die in the tutorial, that is why I told you to be careful, don't worry you have everything you need to survive and come through this, your class and your starting stats will help you! not to mention your abilities!" the large screen had Waddle-Dee Dee Blow a whistle to get everyone quite for a moment and paying attention to the Waddle-dee. "It's imperative you work together, cover each others backs and don't separate, some of you have healing abilities, some of you have protective abilities, some have ranged attacks or buffs, and some have Debuffs, by working together you can all make it through this!" as she said these things a secondary little box Popped up explaining what the words Buff and Debuff meant for anyone that didn't know the terms. The Small Waddle-Dee Dee on Fowls own screen made it vibrate in his hand to get his attention and a little word box appeared for him to read "There is a girl near you who is still kind of out of it, she's the one right there! try to snap her out of it, as for the little ones try to protect them but urge them to try to learn about and use their powers!" the Waddle-dee urged him as they could hear the sound of the enemy starting to move in, like low distant rumbling thunder. The Larger window had Waddle-Dee Dee announcing their enemy to them "Your first wave will be Reed Runners! they are fast flightless birds while they may not look big and strong please be careful as they are relatively fast and like to attack single targets in group! The general mood of the transported humans was now starting to become more erratic and concerned, despite the brief moment of playfulness and curiosity from the odd little avatar. "So it's like a video game..." Fowl muttered to himself, not really to familiar with the concept, and only have played a few mainstream games in his time with friends. Thankfully though, the bits of information from the tutorial guide was most beneficial, summarising everything in an efficient and straight forward way. [break][break] "Thanks Waddy, this is useful." Fowl affirmed, still hovering above the long grass that licked his ankles. One by one, after the introduction to classes from Deedee, he started to see more people begin to use whatever class abilities were bestowed to them. Teamwork would keep them alive, and they needed to round themselves up. Unfortunately, Fowl lacked that sort of initiative to herd a large group of people together. Thankfully, Waddy's little nudge to assist another girl gave him that little shove to assist her. "Sure thing."  [break][break] Small birds? They looked harmless. Fowl lifted his gaze up to the horizon, where the prairie lifted slightly into a hill. They were coming? He couldn't see them, only hear the slight thumping in the distance, a miniature stampede of clunky feet and long beaks, and strange trails of grass snaking down through the fields. "They're coming!" One man exclaimed, gripping hold of a comically large spatula as if it were a weapon. [break][break] The group nearby started to brace themselves, awkwardly shuffling on the spot as they looked out to the unseen monster horde.[break][break] They waited... And waited.[break][break] Silence fell upon them, only the wind and the sway of grass could be heard, the thundering footsteps had come to a halt, and an eerie gust engulfed them. "Where did they go?" Fowl asked himself quietly, hovering above the grass still, trying to see if he can see more clearly from his slight height advantage. Especially when there's not much place to hide, unless you want to join the reedrunners. [break][break] One by one, people started being pulled under the tall grass, a slight shriek being heard as their ankles were slashed and calves skewered. Nobody could really see it happen, but they knew the birds were nearby, surrounding them. The players were too scattered, and Fowl just watched as they bobbed down to the ground, engulfed by grass and mauled by the flightless birds. [attr="class","withoutyouascroll"]Having already been shocked by her control of the water around her she pulled from the surrounding area, she only just noticed it as others seemed to mess with the tuturial screen, Raina turning to hers at last to see a roundish creature on it talking to her, “Today is literally blowing my mind..” Raina said feeling like the creature reminded her of a show she saw as a kid, Birby? Something like that. [break][break]
Now paying attention to, what Raina was understanding in gamer terms, to be the avatar of the tuturial guide as they explained the system and how to use the menu, noting that some used something that already had a screen, “Hmm. I see. So if my class is connected to the system, could i use my ability to pull up the menu?” She said to herself and not to Waddle-dee in particularly as she used the orb of water, imagining it stretching out like a menu screen on her t.v and trying to imagine this system she was being taught. Finding it useful, Raina made a Home Screen of the system out of her water orb, like a menu being reflected on the water surface, but she quickly returned it back to its formal shape as the Waddle-Dee kept giving warnings. Raina who was still obsessed with her powers and was hearing the words monsters, knew she needed some type of weapon. Since the orb seemed to be directly connected to her she figured she could transform that into water as well, Raina taking a deep breath as she imagined a really cool female fighter from her youth that used twin hunting daggers. Reimagining there shape she split the orb of water into two and attempted to form the water into a repeated shape of the same thing, a hunter's knife but then she let the orb return to normal. It really all was a lot to take in and she was trying to keep her wits about her but all this time she thought she was in the real world, had she been in this tutorial for years? Feeling trapped more than ever, by the time the person approached her the delusion of shock had transformed into anger and motivation to survive the tutorial and get back to the real world. If she had tried to contact her parents maybe she would have realized sooner but she never did, did they think she was dead? “Im fine now, I already looked at my ability before, hopefully Waddle-Dee is right, because we're going to need everything we got to survive maybe.”[break][break]
Then the creature appeared on the large screen, “Reedrunner” they had already been warned so she assumed the creature was on the way, “No time to think every action! EVERYONE GET NEAR ME! Hope this works!” Using the large 15 ft diameter orb of water that her ability seemed to grant her, Raina dropped it to the ground allowing it to flood the immediate floor around them up to a 4.5 meter around her into a pool of water on the ground. As a lifeguard she was used to thinking on her feet to save a life in danger, usually it was from water, now she had water to help her! Unable to expand the pool of water more than that around her Raina paid attention to the water around her waiting for the ReedRunners to walk into her range, the moment they did rather or not she could see them she would use the water underneath their feet and fling her arms around using the water itself like a thin blade to cut the grass and any Reedrunner that was closing in around and outside the immediate 4.5 meter circle she made creating a small space of clear grass. “We can’t stand around here!” Recalling her orb, Raina attempted to run about 2 meters towards the South of her original spot. [break][break]

Dee Dee could see people falling under the grass, it wasn't going well, some were not even trying to work together, some in reach of people going down were not even trying to help the ones that were being attacked, now she couldn't do anything to help fight in a damage capacity, but she could help them somewhat in finding the things, though with so many people in the tutorial she had to make sure they would see the notifications. Looking around the area she seen some people doing their best to deal with things, the largest hinderance was the tall grass, but no one mentioned the obvious answer so the Avatar of her on their screens help up a large sign so they would see it "take out the grass! it's hiding them so if you cut it down or reduce it some how you will be able to see them coming! When fighting defensively preparing the ground and clearing sightlines is always something you should do to aid the ranged combatants!" her message sent she seen some people begin clearing the grass with magic and weapons. This had two effects, it was clearing the grass for them, and at the same time, since attacks were going in different directions, the ReedRunners were having a harder time closing in, so the attacks on people stopped happening as fast as they started to cluster up tighter, On her tutorial hud Dee Dee could see they had lost 10 people, not all dead, most were just injured beyond the ability to fight, of the ten they lost, only three were dead that was good news but it meant they had less hands to fight with. "Gather and guard the wounded, work in teams! if you have healers the wounded can be brought back up to fighting condition, this is Attrition at the moment, you need to last as long as possible! Remember your evaluated on the amount of people that Survive! the more the better!" The text came up, again Waddle-Dee Dee didn't speak, she never spoke it was always text, but the screens would make a blip or boop sound as the text popped up to let people know to look, though at the moment everyone had their own screen open now, and it was staying out of their way so they could fight, but just on the side so they could glance at it to read. As chaos unfolded around them, Fowl observed Raina's quick thinking and resourcefulness. Her ability to manipulate water and create a defensive barrier showcased a unique skill set that could prove valuable in this virtual world. He nodded approvingly as she urged everyone to gather near her for safety.[break][break]
Taking note of Dee Dee's guidance about clearing the grass, Fowl decided to contribute. Extending his hands, he focused on his own abilities. A gentle breeze surrounded him as he summoned a controlled gust of wind. While not as effective as cutting through with a blade, the wind helped to push the grass aside, revealing the hidden Reedrunners.[break][break]
"Get out the tall grass!" Fowl shouted, encouraging others to join the effort. As more players began to understand the importance of creating open spaces, the chaotic battlefield started to transform. The grass was pushed aside, giving the group better visibility and slowing down the approaching threats.[break][break]
With the immediate danger somewhat contained, Fowl turned his attention to the wounded. Floating down to the ground, he scanned the area for injured players from his height advantage, flying slightly higher above the ground and able to spot anyone in a tricky situation.[break][break]
The tutorial guide's instructions played a crucial role in keeping them organized and focused. Fowl glanced at his own screen, checking for any updates or additional information that could aid their survival. It was a strange and surreal experience, but adapting quickly seemed to be the key to navigating this virtual world.[break][break]
Watching as a few of the deadly birds with blood soaked beaks started rushing towards a smaller group who was trying to tend to the injured, Fowl glided forwards as fast as he could. Still getting used to his abilities, he wasn't sure what to do other than reach out instinctively, willing a sudden crackle of emerald green light to arc through the air. It sliced across the tips of the grass blades, scorching the flora until the crackling energy jolted one of the reedrunners with an audible 'TZZZT!' sound.

[attr="class","withoutyouascroll"]Having cleared a good portion of the grass even the waddle dee tutorial guide urged others to get out of the grass, she had smelled blood before in her youth and right now she was smelling a particular thick stench of it, aware of the people that they lost simply made her focus more on what she could now now, instead of everything that was overwhelming her. Having run towards the taller grass where those who were escaping trying to come to her, the layer of water on the floor felt like the ground but each step gave her a sense of clarity and happiness as she felt herself speed up.[break][break]
With a small gap of several meters between her and the players, and then four meters between her fellow players and the monsters Raina lowered her body and looking in between the gaps of the players as she glanced her hand along the water, the water gathering in the palms of her hands turning into smaller orbs of water similar to the one she made previously as she flicked them around the players as the bubbles swiveled around them and hit the monsters in the face surrounding their heads in a water bubble to suffocate them enough to slow them down and allow the players to get into the clearing she and the player Fowl were making. Attempting something new as she still needed to clear the tall grass she repurposed the water she had left into a large arrow, Raina sweating as she pushed the water together into a shap flattened point that extended into a 4 meter long 4 meter wide arrowhead in which she launched forward towards the tall grass to cut it with the arrow custom sharpened point and to cut down and of the ReedRunners in between as she continued to clear the grass and help players get to safety. Dee Dee watched the movements of everyone and it was good to see people listening to the advice she gave, she had hopped it would have been sooner but at the same time at least they were doing so now, they had quite the mix of people and while the number of wounded rose, they didn't have any more deaths as they started to work in teams to recover any people that were down but not out and dragging them out of the tall grass and into the cleared area's to heal them. the cleared area's also where far apart with large swaths of tall grass between them but even that was starting to lessen as the people worked to join up into once larger group. Two people Raina and Fowl seemed to have quite the useful abilities, and she nodded to herself as they rushed out to help a couple of groups that were farther out, and they were doing quite well, as the Reedrunners turned to flee when one of them was struck down as the creatures preferred hit and run ambush attacks due to how weak they were, and they disappeared into the tall grass leaving the group they where trying to attack. The people gathered up and they moved towards Raina and Fowl "Thanks for the help... Lets go to the open area we are to far to make this small one connect to the one you made" one of them said as they carried an heavily injured girl between two of them, wounds all over her legs as she clearly had been attacked. Dee Dee noticed the birds fleeing the field and she nodded as she popped up a new message "The Reed Runners are now fleeing you have passed this wave! you have a brief time to recover and regroup and prepare for the next wave! Please regroup and plan out your defensive strategy for the next wave, I will inform you of the monsters for the next wave a minute before the next wave starts!" she advised them. Raina fowl tern |
