Ravenna stopped in her tracks and stopped humming. One moment, she’d been coming back from a shopping spree – the next, she was in a cornfield in a completely different pair of shoes. And all her shopping bags had disappeared. “Where the – what the Hell just happened?” she said, as she batted her eyes.[break][break]
Then something like a chat log appeared in front of her. “Clear the field of enemies,” said the text. That was all the warning she got before she felt the air shift – instinctively, she dodged, falling to the ground as she did so. [break][break]
She looked up. There, standing above her, was a scarecrow with glowing eyes and scythes for hands. Two more identical scarecrows crowded behind it, readying their own scythes. “I…what?” she said, adrenaline filling her head. “Get the fuck away from me, you – whatever the fuck you think you are!”[break][break]
Not very ladylike of her.

It had been a quiet day off for Morgana, having spent the majority of it shifting between session of binging the latest show on her phone she had been mooching off of the subscription that nice guy in Akansas Lucy and her had met and going outside for another smoke break.[break][break]
She had been waiting for her bestie to get back from work so they could get a late dinner in and maybe get drunk that night. At least until some annoying little app installed itself on her phone and then she sort of woke up here. [break][break]
A soft, sleepy yawn escaped from her black lips as Morgana looked around. "This sure as hell isn't the couch. The fuck am I?" she asked in a very sleepy but uninterested, dark tone. [break][break]
Around her was a cornfield and a whole bunch of nothing. It brought her back to the times at getting lost in those corn mazes all the time when she was young. Except there was a distinct lack of any signage or interesting decoration that made any amount of distance stand out. Just like her home in the South. It elicited an eye roll and a groan from the goth girl as she clicked her tongue in annoyance. [break][break]
"Wonderful, back in the same place I was trying to get as far away from as possible." she thought to herself. [break][break]
Another voice came to nearby. Morgana arched an eyebrow at the sight before her after she pushed through the corn. A woman surrounded by scarecrows. Not exactly something that really stood out to people on a first glance. It wasn't until they got off of their poles and stomped up to the woman that caught her eyes.[break][break]
That was a new one. Still, she wasn't going to just let this woman just perish like this. Nobody should be killed by something that people hung up as Halloween decorations. [break][break]
"Hey, Haybrains!" [break][break]
Her leg smashed into the side of one of the scarecrows. It toppled the poor thing down from the others before Morgana grabbed one of the scythe hands the scarecrow until it tore off completely. She stepped on front of the woman before her and swung it around to keep the other scarecrows at bay. [break][break]
"Any chance you can fight? I'm sure as hell not doing this alone." [break][break]

Lazily sitting at her desk, scrolling through yet another webpage, Faith was having an overall quiet end to her day. After a long day at the lab after all, she wanted nothing more than to sit back and relax. Mindlessly scrolling through the pages before looking over at her antfarm. Looking at the little guys hustle and bustle, clearing out more and more area. Which reminded her, she was going to have to get a new queen soon. This one was getting old, and most likely wouldn't last much longer. Unless she birthed a new queen herself of course. [break][break] Standing up and walking over to the counter, she'd look over at her little shelving unit and the little terrariums inside. A rhinocerous beetle in one, of course her ants on the top. Her tarantula she would sometimes let out to roam around if she was being more careful, but after work? He was still in his little cage. Laying down in front of all of them she'd let out a sigh, pulling a nearby pilllow off the couch and looking into their cages. Wishing she could hear their thoughts. Understand them even more intimately. And drifting off to sleep. [break][break] Waking up in a cornfield, she'd look around. Faith wasn't the type to dream often, so experiencing one like this was rather offputting for her. She hadn't been in a cornfield since her research days, when she was looking into a small outbreak of locusts and was collecting some of them as samples to bring back for study for her professor. So having a dream about this would have been odd enough of itself, but she was even more confused by suddenly hearing voices, as she'd stand up. Starting to push her way through the stalks of corn until she came to a small clearing, where it looked like a... rather interesting scene.[break][break] It seemed like two scarecrows with blades for arms were standing directly in front of her, with two girls on the other side. Neither of whom she recognized as she'd ask them. "Do I know you? Why are you in my dreams?" She'd ask rather peculilarly to them, but of course, that noise would inform the scarecrows of the sudden arrival of a third target, with both of them spinning around to face the newest arrival, arms spinning as if ready to attack seeing as, unlike one of the other two, at least this one wasn't armed.[break][break] |

Ravenna ducked under another scythe strike, her eyes wide – had she always been this limber? “No, but I sure as shit am not dying here and now!” she said. The menu popped up again, and she read several commands; what the Hell did any of this mean? She hadn’t played video games since she was a kid![break][break]
One command in particular caught her eye. What was a Dragon Wing?[break][break]
“Dragon Wing!” she said, as she instinctively slid down one of the scarecrows…in a kick that blazed with fire, and shattered the scarecrow into pieces. The moment after, she got up and dusted herself. “I…what was…”[break][break]
She didn’t have time to contemplate further, as another scarecrow came rushing at her. Ravenna jumped, then kicked it away, turning it to ashes. “Hey, I…I can fight! What’s the big – “[break][break]
The remaining scarecrow roared, then came barreling at Ravenna. But by then, she’d gotten the hang of things.[break][break]

"Me neither, so better learn quick." A new person was with them now, huh? Morgana watched as this new girl was sparing no effort to make short work of one of the scarecrows herself. Good, another competent person around here. But was this a dream or something? It would explain a lot of stuff right off the bat, but something about how the kick felt didn't feel like it was a dream. [break][break]
"If this is some shared dream, I'm sure as hell not waking up." Morgana said while sending her impromptu scythe arm into one of the other scarecrows around them. Her move had worked, but at the cost of getting her weapon stuck inside of its body. A few tugs here and there didn't help pry it loose any. One grunt later and the arm had just broken off, leaving her weaponless. [break][break]
The first woman had fared much better since Morgana paid attention to her. She kicked the scarecrow away complete with a sudden blaze of fire around her. The sight had made her stumble back in surprise. It definitely helped add fuel to fire of this dream theory. Maybe she had been watching too many fantasy movies. [break][break]
"Fuck, dude...That was cool." [break][break]
Her hand lifted her phone in a split second while scrolling through her own information. She was expecting something pretty cool as kicking with fire. Maybe she could shoot lighting or something? The sky was the limit so far. Morgana did a quick speed read through her info until coming across the explanation. "Hex Girl...Let's see what we can do." A hand raised itself at the third scarecrow nearby. ALmost instantly, a bolt of darkness plunged into the being, breaking it apart from the impact. Hay and splinters shot everywhere, leaving the scarecrow as two wooden legs. [break][break]
"Cooler than a fire kick, that's for sure." [break][break]

It seemed like her answer would fall on deaf ears. At least partially as the first girl would immediately just shout out something random? Dragon Kick? Though, seeing as her leg erupted into fire and she kicked one of these nightmare scarecrows into pieces, apparently it wasn't just some sort of catch phrase or anything? However, she can't exactly blame the girl given as whatever was happening in front of them with the scary scarecrows meant that, at least in this dream, she had to figure things out. [break][break] And honestly, she was starting to wonder if it really was a dream. If not just because she wasn't often a dreamer, but also because of the fact that the heat off the kick felt so real. Like it was an actual fire that was right there. But how could that girl literally light her leg on fire and put it out just like that? Maybe some sort of fancy pyrotechnics but she didn't exactly know that would work? "Yeah hopefully not..." She would start to say to the other girl as she'd watch her pull out her phone and seemingly read something. Giving her the idea to do the same. "Exo Empress huh?" She'd mutter almost to herself, before noticing the small holes in her wrist that seemed to coincide with what she was reading about her abilities, as well as with the fact that she felt different in a few other ways as well. Like she could create pollen and felt more.... in touch, with her insect side. [break][break] "This is all too weird..." She would say to the group before a scarecrow would descend upon her as well. Forcing her into action as well. Though she wasn't overly athletic, it wasn't like she wasn't able to do basic things. And almost as if by instinct as soon as she went to punch the scarecrow her stinger came out of her wrist.... however unfortunately for her, it's not like these scarecrows felt pain as she'd look at it and just think oh shit before hitting the deck right before the scythe from the scarecrow went through where her head used to be.

“Cooler than…hey, that’s not true!” said Ravenna, as she put her hands on her hips. But before the two girls could get into an argument, another scarecrow careened towards the third girl, who responded by…unleashing a stinger? This day was getting weirder and weirder. [break][break]
“I don’t think so, asshole!” said Ravenna, as she somersaulted towards the scarecrow currently attacking the insect girl. She kicked the scarecrow with a certain flourish, her body slowly acclimating to the new powers she found herself with. The scarecrow burst into flame, then ran away past them while slowly dwindling to ashes. [break][break]
Ravenna blinked, then assumed a fighting stance. Had she always been this primed for battle? “Alright, any more assholes want to dance?” she said, her shock replaced with a confident smirk. “Come on, you pointy dickfaces!”

Morgana was ready to bicker with the other woman with the fiery kick. But because of all of these scarecrows, their scuffle would have to wait for the time being. She watched as another was dispatched between the other two. [break][break]
"We'll agree to disagree." A smirk crossed the goth's face while taunting the hothead. But being on the receiving on of one of those fire kicks didn't sound like her cup of tea. "Don't get too fired up, Kehehe~" [break][break]
The small group of scarecrows had been defeated with relatively ease. She was a bit let down at the lack of anything beyond some hay headed freaks. Surely there was more than three weaklings like these around? Her eyes scanned the area around them for any stragglers. [break][break]
"I'm not seeing anything. What about you, bug girl? Any-Augh!" [break][break]
It had only dawned on her just then that at some point, Morgana had began to hover off the ground by a few inches or so. The lack of balance had caused her to swivel around in the air. Her sudden drop had caused her to nearly face-plaint on the ground. She lay slowly rotating in midair while trying to figure out how to control herself. [break][break]

In what seemed like an eternity as the deemed 'bug girl' would try to adjust to her surroundings as she'd see the scarecrow that had just nearly taken her head would instead be sent running off as it would be burning up as this kick from the girl seemed to almost cause it to flare out and turn into a mere pile of ashes. All before she would call out for even more to come running out if there were any hiding. Though from what she could tell "I don't think there are any in hiding because these things didn't seem overly intelligent. Even with our kind of confusion they didn't do anything like tactics...." [break][break] She would start to say, before suddenly finding herself cut off as the other girl would just suddenly let out a scream, one that would cause her to laugh a little as she'd look over and see the girl rotating in midair, slowly but steadily as she'd cry out for someone to help her. As she'd pull herself up from how she had fallen she'd walk over and hold out a hand to the floating girl. "I can try to pull you down but I think you're the one making yourself float." A small laugh as she'd say "You might need to figure out how to get down yourself because I know I certainly can't be the one doing that." [break][break] "But more importantly, if there's nothing else here, where exactly is here?" She'd ask to the other two. "And how do we leave?" She'd ask once again to the group, picking up a few pieces of straw that hadn't been incinerated and rolling it between her fingers.[break][break] |

SAVAGES!!! INVADERS!!! YOU DARE ATTACK MY SUBJECTS?! I SENTANCE YOU TO DEATH!!! COMETO ME MY SOLDIERS!!! TAKE DOWN THESE VILE BEINGS AND FEED THE FIELD WITH THEIR FLESH!! WATER THE FIELD WITH THEIR BLOOD!!!" the massive Pumpking Bellowed from its massive mouth as from the ground Scarecrow Soldiers rose from the ground looking sturdier then the previous scarecrows that the group had just destroyed.[break][break] The Massive Pumpking move forward and suddenly a massive vine shot out towards Ravenna attempting to swat at them/[break][break] The Three scarecrow Soldiers moved in faster then the previous scarecrows had, and one lashed out at Faith with it's sickle, while another moved in on Morgana stabbing at her with a trident fashioned from a pitchfork, and the last one moved in on Ravenna attacking from a different angle then the massive vine, trying to attack her with a sword made form a reinforced Scythe blade, and a shield made from metal parts of a wheelbarrow. Ravenna looked up at the goth girl. “I…am not the one doing that either,” she said, as she cracked a smile. “Yeah, you’re on your own in that regard. I don’t know how to get you down either.” [break][break]
Her amusement, however, would prove short-lived – as an immense monster suddenly burst from the ground and attacked the three of them, starting with Ravenna herself. Unable to dodge in time, Ravenna felt herself get swatted away by the monster’s vines. She flew away and cried out, but managed to land on her feet; she didn’t remember being this nimble, either. “Fuck!” she said, as she steadied herself and swatted another incoming vine away with a kick. “You’ll pay for that, you overgrown – “[break][break]
But before she could finish her sentence, another vine came careening towards her. This time, however, she was prepared; she kicked it away too, her legs blazing with fire. Then she felt the air shift around her again and she moved away, dodging another attack. She glanced up at another scarecrow, noting that this one was wielding a makeshift sword and shield instead of scythe arms. These must’ve been…elite scarecrows?[break][break]
