After saying his goodbyes and following Dee Dee's lead, for the time being, he mostly walked in silence. It was a given that some people would have to walk away from difficult situations, but to Enigma, it was the correct decision to make for now. Unless they managed to find a way to get the portal coordinates under control, there was no garauntees. Even if there was, there was no point if they weren't strong enough. This was also only one side of the story, Enigma didn't hear the others. "We should be heading to the guardian of this place soon, right?"As they continued to walk and follow Dee Dee, they came accross a giant tree that seemingly felt alive. There was also a tablet that had elvish language on it, a riddle that the group had to solve. "I'm sure we can all read this, but the riddle itself looks a bit different. Want to give this a try?"

A forest walk. That was always a good way to spend the day. Well, for the most part. There was the fact that Hikari had been on high alert since leaving the elves, and also the fact that she had been mulling over the information they had gotten over and over in her mind. It seems the elves were at pseudo-war with another species, not seemingly an all-out war, but certainly, they were certainly at odds. This was important information.

"Oh my." She stopped and looked at what they had uncovered. A tree, giant and seemingly magical. She turned to face the tablet which had caught the eye of his group. And paused to read it slowly:[break][break]
I am always hungry and will die if not fed, but whatever I touch will soon turn red. What am I?[break][break]
She smiled, "What am I indeed? How quaint of a riddle this one is." Hikari turned her attention back towards the tree, before unsheathing her sword. Taking a stray rock from the forest floor, she struck Shotsuren, creating sparks that shot towards the tree. "Fire."

The giant tree did not go ablaze, but instead, it glowed! And surrounding it, as though it was carved with magic, were runes which now glowed and stirred.

"I suppose..." She turned to her companions, "This must be a sign of some sort." Hikari turned back, holding her hand out as though to touch the now-glowing tree.

the path was a rather decent walk to the destination, and once they got there there was a large Tree standing before them and it was HUGE Dee Dee was looking up at it, everything looked larger to the small girl but this tree clearly was quite large, though something Tommy said made her look back down to see a Tablet with a riddle on it and she blinked a bit, she was about to walk over and give it a read when Hikari did just that so Dee Dee let her do so, she listened to the riddle that Hikari spoke aloud and Dee Dee had it give it a bit of a think, great as she was with skills and the like, things like this were hard to be good at from just training, she was good at making up riddles but not solving them, that required a whole different type of skill training. But thankfully Hikari had the answer after a bit of time and Dee Dee gave a thumbs up to the tall woman it was good that it wasn't asking a specific one of them them the question like Dee Dee or they would be in a lot of trouble with how long it would likely take her to figure it out. But then magical text appeared on the tree. and as the woman touched it the runes glowed and lifted off the tree swirling around the group before settling into the air a foot away from the tree's bark the words having been translated for them likely by the Guardial tree itself. I ask this of the small one, What word becomes Shorter when you add letters to it?" the words floating there queried. Dee Dee blinked, it was asking her directly, but to make sure she pointed at herself and the tree seemed to understand as new words popped up "Yes you"Dee Dee nodded then looked at the others and blinked a few times then back to the riddle she was presented with this made no sense to her, what word becomes shorter when you add letters to it? She started to think of all the words and their spelling trying to figure out what the answer could be. As she continued to think for a good bit she took out her folding chair and placed it down and took a seat on it to continue thinking on what the answer could be, BombDee even walked over to her and Dee Dee picked up the Waddle-dee and set him on her lap as she gently pet him thinking while the Waddle-dee looked quite pleased and content with where it was right now. Dee Dee continued to think about the answer looking up for a moment now and again as she seemingly came to an answer then shaking her head and looking back down at BombDee as she gently pets him and continued to think. Eventually she took out a couple of tomatonators from her inventory and gave one to BombDee who happily accepted and started to nibble away on it while Dee Dee did the same with her own as she continued to try to think of the answer. She didn't want to be the reason they didn't complete the mission after all. Then after she finished the meal with BombDee she blinked a moment then looked back up at the words then she blinked a moment and then looked at the others, that same expressionless look on her face before she looked back to the words floating there "Short?" her word bubble asked. The runes glowed a moment then started to swirl as the word "correct" showed for a moment before the runes swirled around Tommy before forming a new riddle for the man. Hikari enigma |

Tommy observed the cognitive skills of his two companions. He worked with Dee Dee before, and this is her second time doing the mission. Much to Enigma's knowledge of her, he figured that she was pretty capable. However, Hikari also came as a surprise since this was their first meeting. She was able to solve the riddle quite well. However, when it came to Enigma, his throat started to scratch. It looked like since he took his language drink first, he was going to run out fast. However, if they were to speak, they had to speak in an elven language.
I'm seen in the night, but not in the day, I can shine so brightly, then fade away. I twinkle with stars in the vast, dark sky, But vanish with morning, saying goodbye. What am I?Quickly looking at the other two, Enigma tapped his throat twice to give them some indication of what was happening. If they figured it out, they would realize the duration for the serpent Elixer was running out. "Oh?" Though, Enigma had an idea. The restriction was only for speaking, but if he could recreate the item, it should still be fair, right?" Using his magic, Enigma created a bright gold star that was three meters tall. Luckily for him, it was accepted as an answer, which meant that besides the tablet, there was another way that they were being monitored.
