After his Ender Island trip, Giovanni had felt himself feeling a bit spry. There was a spring in his step as he realized and reveled in this new world, even finding himself having a bit of fun and intrigue. Giovanni hadn't previously explored the world enough, even before the change. Sure he had been from place to place on military missions, but his time in those places was often spent working more than exploring, barely being able to see the sun most days as he was locked away in some secured underground bunker. It was miserable at times, and he thought this new world could be the same, but he was wrong. He was free now, he could go wherever he wanted, and he intended to. This world was also dangerous and he knew that he would need more allies to survive it. This is why after entering into the Paris missions, primarily for the sweet rewards and opportunity to explore Paris, he found yet another mission he could take with Natalya. [break][break]

He had learned a bit about the girl thus far, and he knew that she wouldn't turn down his help. After all, what was a minion to someone who deemed themselves a Queen? He was fine with that, others opinions didn't justify him, nor did it contend with his morals. As long as she was useful he didn't mind playing her game, but the moment she seized to be of use was the moment he would no longer care to play it...[break][break]

Besides he had heard Paris was always beautiful at night, and even more so now. That is besides all the giant rats... [break][break]

Perhaps it was fate, or maybe it was just coincidence? Giovanni wasn't the type to put much stock in things like fate but that was before the world changed and before he got magic powers. He wasn't complaining by any means, in fact, this new world was something he had come to love, to revel in. Especially as he had come to feel free... To his understanding, from the few things he could scrounge up most of the world's government was completely destroyed, which meant the organization that formally held hold over him was no longer around... At least it was more likely that they weren't.[break][break]

Those pesky little pests from his past aside, he had more tangible ones to deal with in person now. He made his way toward Natalya, simply giving a curt nod and response to her words, "Certo," (Certainly) he said in Italian, though he wasn't sure if intentional use of it would get filtered through the translator but now was as best a time as any to test it out.[break][break]

"Well, I suppose we should go play exterminator," Giovanni said, the suit of armor crawling over his body. It was like watching ink burst from the center of his body and envelop him until it slowed. The wave of black solidified almost in an instant in the shape of a suit of armor. Giovanni found that he truly never tired of the feeling of putting on his new suit. [break][break]

"Indeed we do," Giovanni stated as he opened up the blue holographic screen in front of him. A small disk with helicopter blades made its way out. He simply pressed the front of it, and the metallic drone flew out into the park. "This won't do any damage but it'll identify the monsters to at least let us know what's in the area," he stated. He wasn't going to go into the fact of how it could also scan the DNA of these creatures, but doing so would utilize one of the very limited precious few slots of his class that he couldn't afford to waste.[break][break]

Giovanni began stepping into the forest, hearing the silent footsteps of his crunch upon the foliage beneath his feet. The towering trees around him were magnificent, perhaps it was the fact that this small forest area looked similar to one that he was sure he had seen before the change, or perhaps it was just Paris's both old and new beauty but he wasn't sure how he felt about going into the park to attack creatures, to litter this beautiful place with their carcasses and such, but he also knew in time the bodies of the monsters would eventually degrade into nothing more than pixels or would be eaten by another creature. Moving forward using the drone, Giovanni and Natalya would eventually stumble upon one of these large rats. It was huge its tail twice the size of its dog-sized body and its hair managed and gnarled. Its giant teeth looked like it could take a large chunk out of him with a single bite, and if it weren't for his defense he was sure it probably would be able to. However, as he looked deeper into the forest and his drone circled above, he could see beady eyes peer from the darkness in the thicket of the trees northeast of him and Natalya. "Ugh, I know I agreed to do this, but I really hate rodents." He sighed, this perhaps being one of the few longer sentences the girl may have heard from him thus far. [break][break]

Giovanni could practically feel Natalya's eyes studying him, trying to make heads or tails of who he was as a person. He didn't mind, in fact, he rather enjoyed it, at least meant she wasn't easily trusting and that she had a semblance of intelligence to her. Granted she had done well thus far and proven she was resourceful and skilled enough to handle her own which told Giovanni she was a worthy ally. [break][break]

Giovanni continued to move through the large Paris forest, occasionally glancing up into the trees to look for monsters but more so to steal the occasional glance at the beautiful night sky. However, that was all ruined now by the sight of this gigantic rat. if he hadn't been so... Well traveled Giovanni knew this was something that would make his stomach a bit weak, but nowadays it was nothing more than another obstacle. [break][break]

A small barrel appeared on the right shoulder of his suit. Coming into being as if it had simply been plucked from a pitch-black sea. He took aim and then he fired, aiming right between the eyes of the rats. It was struck, it squealed and then it reared up on its hind legs, long tail whipping about frantically as it looked like it was about to bolt deeper into the forest. "Cut it off from the rest," Giovanni said, glancing a single eye toward Natalya before moving closer toward it. He felt his body tense a bit as the beady eyes deeper in the forest began pushing toward them both.[break][break]

The rat had a large burn patch in the center of its forehead, the poison seed coursing through its veins causing it to wobble. It was on its last leg now, and Giovanni felt a single attack would be all that was needed to finish it off. [break][break]

Giovanni watched once again as Natalya's plants continued to amaze him. They were wonderful things and he was curious as to how they worked but for now, he felt it was better left observe them from a safe distance. The girl was an off-tank as some would call it, creating obstacles and damage to create a war of attrition. It was an interesting ability and much less straightforward than his own even with its potential for versatility. Nevertheless, Giovanni believed they made a good duo, as such he trudged forward with the trusted knowledge that Natalya was capable of support.[break][break]

Giovanni found that simply thinking about his ability hard enough caused it to activate. However, he had noticed that others sometimes tended to either do the same or shout them out, had he even seen one guy do special hand signs or poses. Most of which Giovanni found odd and unnecessary but to each their own. He progressed forward ignoring the gleaming eyes glancing back at him from within the forest. Opting to simply allow the Basilisk aspect to overtake his armor. The nanobots gained a silver sheen to them as if they were laced with metallic scales. [break][break]

"Ugh rodents," Claws erupted from his fist next and he moved to the nearest target, he saw Natalya's seed land into the creature. It let out a sickening squeal and twitched with pain. Giovanni moved to aim for its neck. Rearing his claws back before slicing into the creature's throat and tearing into. It fell limply to the floor and found himself moving toward another rat, stabbing his switchblade into it after a simple flick of the blade to open it. He aimed for its tail, taking it off with a single swipe.[break][break]

After what seemed to be around 40 minutes a multitude of rats were down and there were only a few more to go, Giovanni's drone circled the air, keeping most of the rodents from scurrying up through the threes due to the fear of the unknown device. Unbeknownst to them they didn't know that it was useless in terms of being able to hurt them. Giovanni racked the switchblade across another rat. Its effect had been triggered after drawing first blood. He took his claws and raked across another that had been poisoned by Natalya. [break][break]

"Big rats are still rats, and when cornered they'll try and bite back," Giovanni said clawing into yet another one of the rats before touching another and activating his Basilisk armor first ability; "Stoney Touch," he mused as he clawed into the creature watching its as the patchy fur on its body began to coat over into stone along with its skin. After which Giovanni punched the stone-covered area hoping to crack into it and deal even more damage with his claws. [break][break]

There were just a few more to go, "just a few more to go, Natalya," Giovanni said glancing around, blood dripping from his metallic claws as his armored face scanned the creatures. One got the best of him having snuck up behind him before trying to take a bite out of his midsection with its large buck teeth. Giovanni was surprised, his eyes flinched before he noticed the creature's teeth quite literally break as they scrapped off with streaks of sparks.[break][break]

The creature looked miserable, pawing at its broken teeth before its fur bristled and arched up on its hindlegs hissing at Giovanni before trying to tackle him. It shot forward like a missle and Giovanni dug the heels of his boots into the ground. The rat smashed into his armor, its body crumpled, and then fell limp to the ground. Giovanni kept a large smile on his face underneath the visor of his helmet. "Serves you right," Giovanni said kicking the dead rat in its side.[break][break]

Giovanni leaped back as Natalya let loose more of her plant-like traps, the girl was certainly good at wars of attrition and Giovanni found himself a tad bit jealous of the effective barriers she was able to create. He made a mental note to look for more defensive versatility, but also to utilize his points on getting some more abilities soon, he was hoping for nothing more than defensive-type abilities, happy with the offensive options he had so far already. However, his classes offered him a league of versatility in their own right, so he looked forward to seeing how the future aspects would develop.[break][break]

Giovanni raked his claws across the trapped rat's throats, one after the other, before following up with his bloody switchblade, and his Stoney touch to finish off the remaining rats. Having made quick work of the rats, he waited for their bodies to dissolve into pixels and for the mission prompt to come up saying they had completed it. Now all that was left, was to enjoy what the rest of Paris and its new and old sights had to offer. His stomach rumbled a bit and he simply spoke, "Hm, are you hungry? I could go for some pasta." He said turning back to Natalya as his helmet peeled back like skin burning away to reveal his face. [break][break]
