How to Solo Level

[attr="class","arcbody]Seoul, Korea. Home to K-Pop and many webtoons that involved urban fantasy dungeons. Arcana was surprised she managed to get here more easily than in the original world. Though it wasn't because of K-Pop. But she learned that Neo-Tokyo was dangerous from eavesdropping another player and there was no way in hell she would risk herself there to satisfy her otaku needs immediately.[break][break]

While doing missions were fine, she wanted to try traveling around and see what kind of monsters were living there or if it was safe for her to set up shop. She had her trusty tarot deck with her. Yet she was still reluctant to buy a weapon from the system store. She was too frugal to risk testing it out and she wondered if the weapons granted from the missions were better than the store. But there was no way to test things out unless she needed to hunt a few slimes.[break][break]

Okay, so the slimes were weak. But again, she has no weapon. She might as well start with weak monsters before buying a weapon and try her hand with tougher ones. Although, as she started attacking the slimes, there might be a chance to talk to her (or spook her).

Dee Dee had arrived in Korea once more, not on any mission this time, she was here for one reason and one reason only, she had been here on a mission before and she had met some rather cute and friendly slimes... well at least non-aggressive, and so Dee Dee arrived and looked around, finding a small white slime and the little creature seemed to try to escape from her but when it couldn't it started to shake, and Dee Dee sat near it and offered it a tomato. It took some time but the Slime ate at the Tomato and seemed to realize Dee Dee wasn't going to hurt it, and Dee Dee sat with it gently petting it and letting it eat the tomato as she enjoyed just sitting there and glad to know that not all monsters were aggressive.

Little did she know other small slimes were watching her and as she sat there quite happy she noticed another slime scoot over and start to eat at the tomato she gave the first slime, she blinked then smiled and gave the new slime it's own tomato, Prompting the Slime to eat that one instead... then another Slime showed up... then another and Dee Dee realized they were all different colors but they were all rather small, well small compared to other slimes, these ones where about the size of a kitten, but they were not aggressive at all.

Eventually she had a swarm of slime around her all happily eating at the Tomatoes she had given them, not a one of them were attacking her and she didn't mind them climbing all over her, and by this time her summons were also out and playing with the slimes, it was a fun time all around as she enjoyed herself and she even had a larger slime resting on her head with Jimmy. she Needed to remember that not all monsters are aggressive, after all Mr.Beast tamed a wolf, and she herself managed to bargain her and Hana's way through a Fire Ant nest... well for the most part and that's how she got Jimmy!

Likely it would be about that time that Dee Dee noticed someone walking around and as she looked over she seen it was Arcana off in the distance and she raised her arm and waved her word bubble popping up "Hello! have you come to play with the friendly slimes too?"

How to Solo Level

[attr="class","arcbody]Just as she could draw a card to start hunting, Arcana screamed briefly upon seeing a familiar word bubble behind her. Or rather, a young lady somehow overwhelmed with...cute and huggable slimes?[break][break]

Okay, most players didn't care about their cuteness due to their perception that all monsters were dangerous. But one sight of those slimes was enough for her to put her tarot deck back in her pocket and approached her acquaintance.[break][break]

"Uh... If you mean hunting for slimes, you're kinda right," Arcana answered as her face turned red. "Uh, don't misunderstand. I mean the ones who are aggressive, not them. Don't worry, the deck is in my pocket." She even showed her hands to ensure the friendly slimes that she meant no harm. "By the way, how did you find them, Dee? I'm surprised friendly slimes exist here."

Dee Dee tilted her head when Arcana jumped a bit but it made sense if she was out here in a dangerous area without backup that she would be a bit on edge, Dee Dee rarely had that issue what with her being extra small and able to hide easily, and never traveling alone! She blinked as she looked at the woman put away a deck of cards, she remembered she used cards for combat so those were her weapons, Arcana also seemed slightly confused if the look on her face was any indication.

Hearing she was hunting slimes Dee Dee looked at the slimes around her then at Arcana and shook her head she was about to have her word bubble display text but then Arcana explained she didn't mean those slimes and so Dee Dee relaxed a little, and so the the little slimes all around her which had apparently tensed up on hearing that, or more then likely just being worried at a new larger person being there and reacting to Dee Dee tensing up for a moment and then relaxing when she did.

Seeing her put her weapon away Dee Dee nodded and gently picked up a small slime to hold it out for Arcana with a cherry tomato next to it that it was eating "I found out not all slimes are aggressive when I was doing a den clearing mission, some ran from me and when they left the mission area they counted as defeated, so I stopped killing them all and started giving them a moment to see how they reacted, and that's when I found out some were basically what would be considered an Herbivore, they don't attack people because they don't eat meat or they are just not hunters, they eat things like mold or fungus or plant matter, so I helped a bunch of them escape the den area rather then kill them since they seemed nice. And I finally managed to come back here to play with them!" she informed her with her Word bubble.

The little slimes seemed to bubble almost like purring as she gently pet them, her Friends also petting the friendly slimes "They are really soft, not slimy at all, it's like holding a jelly candy!" the word bubble explained as Dee Dee leaned over still holding out the little slime for Arcana to take or pet, the little slime seemed to look up at Arcana and then give a little wave... or was it just reaching up to eat a bit of a higher bit of Tomato... it was hard to tell.

How to Solo Level

[attr="class","arcbody]Okay, the more Dee Dee hung out with the slimes, the more red Arcana's face turned as she stared at them. The only thing that broke through her eccentric facade was seeing cute monsters playing with other players like Dee Dee. And she has to admit she was very envious when she saw them play like this.[break][break]

"Huh. I didn't expect you can clear missions like that," Arcana said. "So you can find alternatives if killing them isn't your forte in some missions. I have to keep that in mind, considering I learn that not all monsters here are not as mean and dangerous as I thought." Then again, Arcana was a pragmatic type of player. Regardless of how she dealt with monsters, she would do everything to get more rewards as possible.[break][break]

As soon as she moved on from her thoughts, she noticed the slimes again and another thought came into her mind. "...Can I pet them, too?" She asked this while her face turned red.

Dee Dee nodded when she mentioned clearing missions like that and her word bubble popped up, with a slime resting on it seemingly enjoying the fun little ride as the word bubble filled in with text "Yes, I thought I would give it a try after a friend of mine managed to tame a monster part way through a mission, not to mention another time where I traded Tomatoes to some large ants and they left me and my friends alone in exchange for Tomatoes now and again as we traveled in their colony, as long as we didn't go anywhere to sensitive to them we were fine!" she was quite pleased with the discovery actually, it meant coexistence was possible which was an important thing to consider since the world may be like this for a very long time.

It was also good to hear Arcana seemed to like that way of thinking it meant she might be able to make some monster friends too! "Just remember safety is important, give them a chance sometimes to show if they are threatening or not but be ready to dodge or defend yourself just in case, in the case of the slimes they were just to small to be a threat at the time so taking the chance was rather safe" the word bubble informed as Dee Dee gently picked up the slime that was riding on the word bubble and placed it on her head with the other one that was there.

She noticed Arcana turning a bit red and she nodded "Just be really gentle with them they are very soft and nice to be around, see even Kramer, Jimmy and BombDee are enjoying just being around them" the word bubble expressed for her as she held out her hand with a small slime on it happily eating away at a cherry tomato, likely the fact she willing gave them food was also a factor in them being so calm around her.

How to Solo Level

[attr="class","arcbody]As she heard all of this, Arcana began to hum in thought. She originally thought monsters existed as threats that the players fight off upon arriving in this new world. However, some were completely harmless, and giving them food seemed to pacify or even tamed them to the point of becoming their allies. However, fully taming them as partners or pets outside of a summoner-type class was another issue. She wanted a powerhouse in case she and her party was incapacitated and she couldn't use her ability or it expired for some reason. "Eh... I wish I can do all of that than stop to kill them without any second thoughts," she said with her arms behind her back. "I would have wasted my time grinding outside of Missions."[break][break]

After hearing Dee Dee's warnings about handling monsters, Arcana silently nodded. "I'll keep that in mind. Gonna make a few allies before making enemies, I guess. Although, I don't know if I'm going to be a natural-friendly monster magnet like you." Again she already fought a few monsters during missions and hunts, so she has a good reason to worry. "I might as well have fate tell if I'm a good magnet or bad."[break][break]

With that said, Arcana was surprised as she watched Dee Dee hold out a small slime in front of her. Her face was turning brighter red upon seeing the squishy body. She was still nervous petting a real-life slime. But the other side of her told her to do it unless she wanted to regret missing this chance. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and slowly attempted to pet the harmless monster while trying to keep her hand steady.

Dee Dee listened to her and nodded slowly it was true, some people would find it hard to take the moment Dee Dee almost didn't as well it was due to the mission being easy that she took the time to check and sure enough she was lucky, at the time it could have been dangerous, but she trusted it wouldn't be and it was the only slime around at the time so she chanced it, so she could understand Arcana thinking that way. The world was very dangerous as it was now, and letting your guard down could get you killed, Dee Dee was lucky to have her friends with her at all times so going alone must be a lot more stressful.

It was also true Dee Dee had a bit of an advantage with monsters, not only back up if she was wrong but those that were willing to be friendly had evidence that she wasn't mean and maybe was trustworthy, it also helped that she was very quiet so that also helped a lot since she didn't make a lot of noise that could scare them, so she had a few advantages on this, then Arcana reached out for the little slime and Dee Dee held still to not spook the slime and waited.

As Arcana touched the small slime it stayed still and it felt like touching a very soft squishy plushy, it wasn't slimy at all, it was almost like a jelly, and then it started to bubble, almost like a purring sound and Dee Dee nodded slowly, before suddenly a second little slime scooted up Dee Dee then up her arm to her hand and wriggled it's way under Arcana's hand clearly wanting attention and petting too and Dee Dee let out a little giggle "Looks like they want attention" the Word bubble explained, and that would be when one little slime was seen resting on the word bubble like it was using it as a air bed.

How to Solo Level

[attr="class","arcbody]The moment the slime started to purr, Arcana tried hard not to scream like a fangirl. Petting it reminded her of slime, and the bubbles generated from its "purr" was oddly relaxing. The slimes were too cute to ignore and she was jealous they were friends with Dee Dee. Just thinking about it made her regret not choosing that Card Master class that could be a summoner-type class.[break][break]

"I guess they do," Arcana said as she continued petting the slime very gently. "So much for my leveling session. At least I got a kick out of petting slimes. I'm gonna tick that off from my bucket list. Thanks." She sighed before turning to Dee Dee again. Dee Dee was happily sitting among the slimes as Arcana pet one, and as she sat there more and more slimes gathered till all that was visible of Dee Dee was her head with a few slims sitting on top of her head, and she looked very happy as the Slimes all purred quite clearly happy to have food and not be attacked, her Summons also where being very gentle with the slimes, petting them and letting them scoot around them playfully, over all it was a very cute scene, and one many people likely would never get to see considering the universal thought on monsters all being aggressive.

Though as Arcana made mention of leveling up and then asked about Dee Dee trying to make a slime her summon Dee Dee nodded a bit "I have but unfortunately my Class doesn't work like that, the system decides if I have done well enough in a hard enough mission to acquire a new Friend, but I know someone named Mr.Beast that can make a monster his friend with his class, so likely if you talk to him and go looking for a slime he could get you a pet one! I might ask him the same thing for me since I know where there are non-aggressive slimes so it should be a lot easier" the word bubble informed her friend as Dee Dee popped out a few more Tomatoes from her Inventory to feed the little slimes.

She perked up upon hearing of someone named Mr. Beast. Was that a Youtuber or someone? "Huh. I might as well. I may need a few friends. Dee Dee was glad to hear she wanted to make friends with a slime as well and she brought up her map and sent her the information "Here is where you can find a nice place with a lot of docile and friendly slimes, just make sure to bring some food with you... lots of food.. slimes eat a lot when they are calm and happy though they take a lot of time to eat it, but as you can see once you gain their trust they have no problem being friendly" the word bubble explained as Dee Dee gave a thumbs up, a tiny slime scooting to the tip of her thumb and giving a little wave to Arcana.

As for Mr.Beast you can't miss him, he is hard to not notice in a crowd he is large and tends to have his pets around him, usually a pair of doves and a serpent like creature, also his head looks like a big round ball with a pointy nose, I never asked why it looks like that I just figured he was wearing a mask, so he will stand out a lot in a crowd!" she explained through her word bubble which now had a couple of slimes resting on it seemingly enjoying floating around on the thing.

How to Solo Level

But in her heart, it was a bit of sacrifice to befriend the slimes like Dee Dee. She didn't have any meaningful pets back home because of her older sister, so seeing the slimes might give her a chance to get one. "Okay. I think the store has some food there. As for the description of Mr. Beast Dee Dee shared with her, Arcana raised her eyebrow upon hearing it. A snowman mask? She thought most of the people who were pulled into this world were normal, yet that description alone along with the few people she met made her realize how wrong she was. Then again, her background was nothing normal regarding her family's favoritism with her sister. "Oooookay... I'll keep an eye on that guy when I find him. Thanks anyway again."[break][break]

After she petted a few more slimes, Arcana stood up and stretched her arms while looking around their surroundings. "Ugh... No hostile monsters mean no EXP farming." She turned to Dee Dee and said, "Still, if I wasn't here, I wouldn't learn of those slimes and their friendliness in the first place. So I guess that's a plus."

Hearing she would need some Food Dee Dee opened a trade window and offered a trade of a good deal of veggies and meats to Arcana "here I always have lots and it's all good, the slimes will like it so you are sure to get a few interested at least, but you have to remember to be patient they will be very timid at first and cautious. I was lucky cause the first slime that seen me in this area when I was looking for them was one I helped escape before so it knew I wouldn't hurt it, the others took some time to come over, but once they realized I had food and wouldn't hurt them. Well as you can see they have no problem being around me" the Word bubble filled with this information as Dee Dee handed out a few more tomatoes to the surrounding slimes.

"And no need for thanks, my guild is all about trying to get along with all the new creatures in our world, sure some are aggressive but as you can see some are also friendly and harmless, I bet we could even find a way to work them into our daily lives as partners in some manner!" the Word bubble continued as the entire pile of slimes started to make that bubbly purring sound all clearly quite content in where they were what with food and safety here.

After some time passed and her friend got up to leave Dee Dee waved to her"Well okay good luck with the hunting, just remember sometimes an area can be rather safe even if it has monsters in it since they just might be the non-hostile until attacked, but always be safe about that stuff to you never know after all. Also yes you may not have gotten any EXP but you did get an experience and knowledge you can enjoy and use to gain something else" as she gave another thumbs up as her Word bubble expressed this information, the slimes all around Dee Dee also gave Arcana a little thumbs up each, clearly taking after Dee Dee's hand gesture.
