[break][break] Tutorial! [break][break]
Complete the assassination of the Daimyo, who resides at the very top of the palace before you. Upon completion, you will be transported back into the world. Do not fail.[break][break] Hikari glanced around then, realizing that she was not alone. There was another with her, and from her looks, it seems as though she might just be the woman for the job. Well, Hikari could also help, but assassination has never been a part of her resume. But then again, her new skills can be very useful in this regard. There was also her new crown, one that could let her go through spaces passing without a trace, the perfect assassination item.[break][break] Turning towards her companion for this so-called tutorial, Hikari bowed slightly, "It is a pleasure to be working with you. We will be in your care." It was polite, and something that was expected from her. Respect, tradition, culture, they were the three pinnacles in which she had been raised with. It was strange one moment Akane was standing at the entrance of her family's estate. Well, at least the spot that used to be where it was built then there was a flash of light and she was in a new location. Judging by the design was that of Kyoto as well as the fact there was a Daimyo's palatial. It was safe to assume she was still I'm Japan at least. The raven-haired woman would take no time in looking over her surroundings her training as an assassin kicking in as if it was second nature. She would notice the other woman who seemed to also be Japanese as well as the pop-up mention something about a tutorial that involved assassinating a Daimyo. Upon reading the last part a small smirk would cross her face as it seemed like it would be a walk in the park given her upbringing.

Akane would return the bow before cutting right to the chase. "Very well I'll lead the way. We'll stick to the shadows for now until we know where's their at." With that Akane would then slip into the shadows making it so the other women could still hear her. However, if the woman paid enough attention she'd notice that Akane was not only wrapped in bones as well as them appearing where she walked but Akane also made no sound when moving.

To pass without trace was something that was definitely useful now more than ever. She brushed her her fingers on the horn-like crown on her head, before slowly following her companion. She had not caught her name, nor had she offered it, truly. A professional, perhaps? [break][break] There were no footfalls between the two of them. Silent as the shadows, they crept their way, every so slowly going up towards the main floors. That would hopefully lead them towards the Daimyo's bedroom, which was said to be at the very top of the palace. Hikari was used to these luxuries, though for her, she was usually the mistress of the house, not an assassin nor a thief in the night. A thief which stole life. [break][break] When they found a place of solitude, Hikari softly whispered, "It seems you are well versed in this, miss assassin." She would cheekily name her companion. "From what I know of these types of places, we should be seeing some guards soon. They usually roam in pairs, and two sets per floor." At least, that was how her security detail liked to do it in their familial home. [break][break] As expected, two guards turned a corner towards them, though they were still unseen. Her companion, now closer, looked even more odd compared to Dee Dee. Bones indeed! "Or perhaps I should call you, miss bones?" Hikari gave her a smile, before her floating swords, all three, started to hum in anticipation. Perhaps this would be a fight? "Shall we fight, or shall we bypass these men?" She let the professional=looking woman decide. [break] |

As Akane started to move forward she'd watch out of the corner of her eyes as the other women seemed to do something with the crown on her head. Perhaps it was something to help her move silently. As the two women moved behind a pillar she'd listen as the other women whispered in her ear. "Yes, I've been doing work like this for years now." Akane didn't waste confirming that the other woman was correct as she could already hear the footsteps of two guards based on the time between steps. Akane would turn to face the other women as she asked if they should fight the two guards or just let them pass.

The Raven-haired woman would think over it for a moment. There was certainly merit to both options. If they just let the two pass by instead of fighting it would lower the risk of detection. However on the other hand if they were detected later on killing these two now would mean less they had to fight later on. Not to mention she had yet to kill what seemed like another human in this new world yet. So she wanted to see if they bled differently. "You can call me whatever you wish. We'll also take these two out now in case we get caught later on so we have less to fight in things go to shit."

Akane would wait for the two to pass before motioning for the other women to follow her as a skeletal claw appeared next to Akane. She managed to move behind the left guard without the man being any the wiser. The assassin would trail the man without issue long enough to allow her partner to get into position as well. Once the other woman was in place Akane would waste no time as she used the skeletal claw to rip open the women's throat letting the blood splash onto her face.

While she was a little disappointed that the blood seemed normal as it flowed out of the two dead men she'd wasted no time dragging the man's body into the shadows before slipping back into the shadows and making her way towards the second floor.

Of course, the tutorial was most likely catered to this woman, though Hikari's class seemed to be very well-versed in physical combat as well. And of course, speed. Both were essential in this case, it seemed. [break][break] "As you command, miss assassin." Hikari acquiesced. The woman would know better in this regard, and therefore Hikari was more than happy to follow in her wake. The opportunity presented itself well, and Hikari watched as the woman seemed to use bones of all things. It must be something to do with her armor too, if Hikari were to be prudent. It seemed fitting, after all. An assassin by trade? Perhaps the bones were of those she had previously killed. [break][break] Getting into position, and getting her Shotsuren ready. She didn't even need to say anything and instead lifted her fan to her face in anticipation. Her fans seem to be what drove her swords about, and at the same time, the swords themselves seem to be connected to her mental psyche. It was interesting, to say the least, and one that Hikari found to be very elegant indeed. She would not dirty her hands by holding weapons. [break][break] When her companion made her move, so did Hikari. With a flick of her fan, her Shotsuren impaled itself onto the neck of her target, immediately cutting off their windpipe, making them unable to scream. It was a silent urk before the man slumped to the ground. Hikari got to dragging her target to the same dark corner as her companion. [break][break] "I don't doubt your skill and experience, miss assassin. That was quite an effective approach." She paused, before adding, "Very thematic too, especially with the bones and all." Taking a moment to keep her fan, she then continued, "Shall we continue then? This should be a very interesting tutorial indeed." She mused, before letting her companion lead the way once more. Akane would watch out of the corner of her eyes as the other women took out her target. Mainly in case, she was unable to finish the job but part of her was curious if the floating sword was just for show. However, it seemed that wasn't the case as the other raven-haired women took out the second man with one strike as well. Akane found it amusing that the other women's fan controlled the blade. It was fitting she looked like a princess which meant to some it could have been viewed as beneath her to use a blade. As the two women finished hiding the bodies Akane would tilt her head at the other women's comments. "Why wouldn't I be? I already told you I've been doing jobs like this for years."

Akane wasn't quite sure what the woman meant by her comment on the bones making it very thematic since as far as she knew it was uncommon for assassins to use bones to kill people in this day and age. At least in the old world anyway. Akane would just nod her head as the other women asked if they should keep going. The two Raven-haired women would make it to the staircase to the second floor without any issues. However, Akane would let out a small sigh as she saw four guards at the stairs.

It was unlikely they would be able to sneak past nor could they kill all four fast enough to not raise the alarm. Akane would look around for a few moments before spotting a small balcony that overlooked the first floor. It was just low enough that she would be able to jump and reach. "Wait here I'll make my way to the second floor and make a distraction to draw some of the guards away once I do slip past the remaining ones and meet me in the second room on the right side of the floor."

With that Akane would make her way over to the bottom of the balcony before jumping up and grabbing the edge to pull herself up and over it. After she made her way onto the second floor she would make her way down the left path of the floor coming across a vase. Akane would waste no time pushing it over causing it to shatter on the floor. She would then stick to the shadows as she snuck past the two guards from the stairs before making it to the room she was supposed to meet the other women at.

It was a sure death for these two guards, though Hikari doubted that these were real people. Oh they bled real enough, and yet if this was a true tutorial, then others must've had tutorials as well. It is unlikely that they would have encountered real people since it would have severely cut the population if all these tutorials involved death. Then again, it could be the case, and Hikari felt no real empathy. She needed to survive, and she will do whatever it takes. [break][break] As they approached the next floor, Hikari silently watched the assassin at work. There were assassins. And there were assassins. Many play the role, but never truly know what they're doing. It seems that this woman was the latter. That was good, in the case of Hikari and this tutorial. After all, what better person to assassinate a Daimyo than a real assassin? [break][break] At her command, Hikari nodded and followed suit. She had sneaked a glance and saw the guards. This was far from easy, and therefore an unorthodox approach is necessary. Why kill when you can leave no trail, when possible? [break][break] When her companion made her move, Hikari made hers as well. She quickly took a position closest to the wall, before slowly inching her way to the corner. It was only a few moments before she heard a crash. She didn't even need to look twice as the guards responded and acted on the noise. Her item was her boon, and without fail, she made her way past the guards with their backs turned on her. [break][break] "Safe and sound." She whispered to Akane as she motioned towards the staircase. "Onto the next one then." She kept her fan to her side, while her swords floated eerily around her. It was almost unbelievable that they had not made any noise, and yet her item prevailed over her. Passing without a trace was certainly very key to this tutorial. [break] |

Akane would smile as Hikari made her way into the room without issue. "I'm glad to see you managed to catch up without issue. It would have been a shame if I had to leave you for dead." It was clear by Akane's tone that she would have no problem leaving the other women behind if needed. Such was the way she was raised better to leave someone behind and finish the objective than save them and let the target escape. As the other women asked what was next Akane would sit down. "We'll rest here for a moment to catch our breath." The assassin would then close her eyes as she started to think for a moment.

"The last floor should be the last one which means it'll be the most well guarded. Our best bet is to scout out the floor before heading after the main target. All her life people have belittled her, thinking she could do little while saying less. She would prove them all wrong. "If this were a mirror of how things are done, then the last floor is all about timing." There was a time when she would have been told how she was guarded when staying in such a place, and all of those memories came jumping back in. "A guard rotation going around the halls, likely in pairs like before. They would not be idle. Akane let out a small sigh at Hikari's comment. "I apologize my lady I didn't mean my statement as an insult. I don't doubt your skill seeing as I don't know what you're capable of. What I meant was that you shouldn't expect me to come back for you if you get caught nor do I expect you to do so for me. All that matters is taking out the target if one of us gets caught the other should leave them to their fate."

Akane would rub the side of her neck as Hikari explained how she thought the final floor would work. "Yes, I have to agree with your statement. It shouldn't be an issue for the two of us. My main concern is if we can take the target out before they get a chance to alert the guards. Our best bet would be to strike at the same time as each other and hope that gets the job done. If you're fine with the plan let's get moving." Assuming the other women was fine with the plan Akane would lead them onto the final floor with no issues.

As they approached the hall to the Daimyo's room Akane would hold her hand up to stop as two guards passed by. Once the two passed by she'd motion to keep going before making her way to the door to the Daimyo's room opening it quietly and just enough so that the two of them could slip in. She would then whisper in the other women's ear. "On my mark aim for his throat even if we don't kill him with the first attack it'll stop him from yelling at least." Akane would then make her way to the left side of the bed holding up three fingers as a count down. Once she lowered her final finger she'd waste no time striking with the skeletal claw aimed at his throat.

She waved it off nonchalantly, as though it was all wind now. "We must all exercise caution, after all. Especially in times like these." The reminder of the present danger was true enough, and Hikari was well aware of it all. "I come prepared to anything that I get myself into, so you needn't worry." It was a trait trained into her as a child, though with a different context in mind. [break][break] The plan the woman came up with alongside her observations were sound. Hikari nodded in kind, and made sure to get her Shotsuren ready. It was already unsheathed, and waiting for a command for it to strike. That was the beauty of her weapons, something to both behold and fear. [break][break] With a nod, they began their sequence. First, the woman signaled for them to move. As quiet as mice, they took towards the Daimyo's room, with nobody catching sight nor sound of them. The woman was quick. She poised herself ready to strike at a countdown. Hikari took her fan, and silently followed along. With the final strike, both their attacks severed through the man's throat. A gruesome sight, though effective. The Daimyo both drowned in his own blood, died of blood loss, and had his windpipe severed. In fact, it looked as if his whole throat had been cut in two. [break][break] Hikari smiled to herself, and looked around the room. She spied a collection of weapons and armor, and was immediately intrigued by a fan that had pictures of mythical animals drawn on it. It was a massive fan, one that was mostly used during war. A Japanese War Fan most likely from the Edo period. She compared her fan to it, and felt a satisfied smile. A smile would form across the raven-haired assassins face as both attacks hit in perfect unison. The result was a large amount of blood splashing onto Akane's face and clothes do to her being in melee range. As the blood dripped from her clothing and face she simply watched as he started to bleed out rather quickly because of the fact both major arteries in the neck were severed. Once the life finally left the man's eyes her gaze would shift to the same spot as Hikari. While the fans certainly were pretty and old they weren't quite Akane's style.

She always found war fans to be a little to flashy for her line of work. However it seemed the other women was very interested in them. However before she could take them they would get an alert informing them they had successfully completed the tutorial and would soon being transported out. It seems she was going to be teleported away, which both irked and relieved Hikari's spirit. Perhaps another day for these war fans. Twice per thread you may summon a beast that will carry you and one companion over or across an obstacle. Or, you may summon a refined noblewoman who will serve you in any mundane manner within reason. Neither will enter combat, and each will only remain for two posts. Uguisubari Two times per thread, for two posts, your steps become weightless. You avoid detection by anyone with WIL lower than your SPD. Additionally, you ignore any movement penalties or damaging terrain, and can glide over short distances. [break][break]

Taboo Tanto - A sturdy Japanese knife somehow formed entirely from human bone. Once per post you can deal your PWR rank in melee damage, up to A rank. After dealing damage with this weapon the target's WIL is lowered by 10%, non-stacking, and does not recover while remaining in combat with you. [break][break]
Death's Head Pin A simple pin that displays a wickedly grinning skull, sockets burning with unholy light. After touching it, for one post you may cause an unearthly sound to emit from a location of your choice within view, acting as a distraction. This has a three turn cooldown. While equipped, this pin grants a 10% buff to your WIL. [break][break]
Bloody Genius You are expertly attuned to the behavior of blood. How it sprays, splatters, drains and pools. An esoteric skill, to be sure. At least outside of your line of work. This improves the Forging results for any items involving blood. [break]
