Gabriel had just finished his rounds as a medical student intern, lucking out truly, being able to shadow and do small surgical tasks here and there for the past few months. It was an exhausting twelve hour shift through the night and the young adult jumped himself into the shower to wash the hospital smells off of him and was about to jump into bed directly after until a strange little pop-up appeared while he was cleaning off. " Where the hell is this? " Gabriel moved his head and the pop-up followed, his brows furrowed in sheer confusion at the system notification that read:
The system has offered you the choice of these three classes. Please reply with the name of the class you wish to play as:
i. the oathbound
ii. death's antagonist
iii. heartened apothecary
He must've been hallucinating, it wasn't uncommon that once people passed a certain amount of time without sleep that they were much more susceptible to these types of insane hallucinations. However, Gabriel was far too curious to see how far some kind of illusion like this would push itself and what his mind was capable of.
Of the three, he felt a strange conviction to choose the first one and pressed his finger against the screen as a hard surface appeared for a second before the button disappeared and all that remained was the sound of pattering of water droplets against Gabriel. " I knew it was simply my mind playing tricks on me. " The medical student muttered out as he took another few minutes or so finishing getting ready for bed as a loud alarm began to ring at a frequency that caused Gabe to fall to the floor unconscious.
As the man finally came back into his body, it took him a bit to gain coherency with his body as the loud ringing finally stopped at the pop-up showed up again.
you have chosen the oathbound class! you have received the following:
A very light doctor's bag appeared on his lap and when he opened it, it seemed to be a very stocked bag filled with various pills, healing antidotes, and other medications that could cure the common cold to things that would help with anxiety. He read the other two abilities and quickly dismissed the notification, Gabriel would get into it later. For now, he would try to figure out where the hell he was and what he needed to do.
Luckily for Gabe, the answer would come quickly as another pop-up appeared.
With a few more seconds to figure out that the building he was in seemed to be the abandoned hospital, Gabriel stood up as a sense of resolve washed over him and confidence that he would be able to use his own knowledge to succeed. Perhaps this was a test from university? It wasn't anything he knew to exist but hell, maybe it was a new exam that they were trying out.
Gabriel quickly grabbed his doctor's bag and made his way from the room that he woke up in into the hallway and that's when he spotted two figures, lithe and attractive, one with this edgy mohawk and the other with pastel pink hair and what looked like kind eyes.
" You folks in the hospital residency program too? The test doesn't say we can't work together to pass. Three heads are probably better than one when it comes to being able to identify these patients and heal them. "
