“While there were plenty of homes left after the whole Light thing, we’re noticing a lot need repairs. Mind taking these tools and getting up on the roof and patching those holes? ”
Help fix some holes in the roof so people can stay in the house.
Death Enabled? na Dee Dee had seen the request for help and so she headed out to do just that, best of all it was something she was skilled at, Carpentry, one of the various skills she trained in the off chance she was asked for help doing such a task, who knew wanting to be as helpful as a waddle-dee... or acting like a waddle-dee when she had eighth grader syndrome would be turning out to be such a good thing? Well at least it left her prepared to do something like repair work at least she couldn't actually build a whole building with her carpentry skills... not yet but repairs? yeah she could do that! When she had arrived she had been given the tools and told what houses needed to be repaired, thankfully it was just the Roofs and nothing more extensive that would need more then simple tools, or she would need a LOT more time, but thankfully everything she needed was here, lumber shingles, nails, her borrowed tools, and the Ladder. Now all she needed to do was set to work. The man that had brought her here looked at the small girl "You gonna be okay dealing with this?" he asked... for the third time just to make sure, he felt a bit odd leaving this work to a girl that was shorter then his own daughter. Dee Dee looked to the man and nodded before saluting her hardhat wobbling on her head as she gently tapped it when she did so, then she headed up the ladder and pointed at the lumber. At first the man thought she was asking him to pass it but before he could move a star sparkled from her finger and formed into Kramer and the man smiled "Ah I see.. makes sense.. most people got things like that these days.. guess he's doing the heavy lifting eh?"Dee Dee nodded and waved as the man waved back and left as Kramer carefully took his time flying piles of shingles up to her where she had already taken up the nails and tools and she got to work |

The work was slow and steady, Kramer would bring Dee Dee more shingles as she needed them and when she didn't need more he would help by carrying the nails and her tools with her as she moved to the side and hammered in the next nails on the next Shingle, it was nice smooth work, but she knew she wouldn't be able to do all this so smoothly without Kramer there to help her with the heavy or awkward lifting, so she made sure to take her time and gently pet his head and hug hum as thanks for all the help. It was important to her and to the people that would be living in these homes that they be repaired and alone this would be taking so much more time if she couldn't summon Kramer.
Though even with the help it was taking her some time after all she had a few houses to repair the roofs of, but she found herself slowly working to a beat, and as she continued to work she started to hum, her hammer falling like drum beats as she worked, her body gently swaying with the beat and melody in her head and that she was tapping out with the hammer and movement of the shingles, even Kramer was slowly getting into the rhythm as she worked, hammer falling gently as she tapped in the nails, now at a beat it felt less like work and more like making music as she slowly lost herself to the melody and the beat as she worked, keeping a steady pace as Kramer had started to make little growls in time with the beats as well and soon was trying to match Dee Dee's humming.
After some time of tapping out a beat, humming and moving, she took a moment to look at her work and found she was already halfway done her work, and she stopped for a moment and decided it was a good time for a quite meal, so she sat down and waved Kramer over to her, the Dragon coming quickly as she pulled out some packed lunches, and she took them out showing they were some rice, roasted tomatoes, and cooked meat, nothing to fancy, but Kramer dug in as did Dee Dee, Feeling quite happy with the work done so far which was looking to be very good work.

After taking time to eat she packed up their food containers and nodded to Kramer who grabbed the next set of shingles, as he did that Dee Dee moved the nails to the halfway point of the last two houses she needed to finish, and so she set to work again a new beat entering her head as she started to work, and as she worked she once more started to find herself slipping into a rhythm her hammer coming down as the drumbeats as her movements and breathing, even the movement of the Singles and creak of the wood to her filled in the missing music, at least that's how it felt as she continued her work and she started to hum the new tune, a song her mother quite liked, and her father was fond of as well now that she thought of it.
looking to Kramer and then around she Dee Deecided to teach her partner the lyrics, and she started to gently very quietly sing the lyrics for her pet. Nature Nurture, Heaven and Home... The Sum of all and by them Driven... To conquer every mountain shown... but I have never crossed the river... Kramer seemed interested in what she was singing and moved closer to hear her and Dee Dee continued her song as she worked.
"Braved the Forest... Braved the Stone... Braved the Icy Winds and Fire... Braved and Beat them on my own... Yet I'm Helpless by the river... What surprised Dee Dee was that she felt comfortable speaking.. or rather singing, in front of Kramer, Though.. perhaps she simply thought of him as an extension of herself? Which was odd to consider since he was clearly his own creature.. she would have to be mindful that she never thought this way in a battle, she would never want to have her friend harmed simply because she callously thought of him only as simply apart of her she would make sure to care for him, but.. maybe she thought of him as a pet? that seemed more acceptable to her.
Angel Angel What have I done... I faced the Quakes the Wind the Fire... I've Conquered Country, Crown, and Throne... why can't I cross this River? She would have to keep this mind set when and if she got more summons, they were not simply things she should think of as just extensions of herself, they were their own creature, she will care for them as she would care for a pet, a close friend, and with that resolution in her mind she nodded to herself and continued working, and teaching Kramer her favorite song.
Pay no mind to the Battles you've won.... It will take a lot more then Rage and Muscle.... Open your heart and hands young one.. or you'll never make it over the River... she slowly drew closer to the end of the last house roof, the shingles were all properly fitted and she could go report she was done, but instead she took out some Tomatoes and gave one to Kramer and sat with him as she continued singing in that incredibly quite tone keeping to that melody and tempo she had been working at
It'll take a lot more than Words and guns... a whole lot more then Riches and Muscle... The hands of the many must join as one... and together we'll cross the river... she gently hugged Kramer as the Dragon ate the Tomato and snuggled into her arms as she gently sang to it slowly drawing the song to the end. She liked the story of the song, the message it had, and she gently got up letting Kramer fly with her as she headed off to turn in the job she was given, the song fresh in her mind now and setting as her resolve for how to treat her Summons in this new world.. and how perhaps she should approach others in this new world, maybe she could find others that shared this outlook?
