[nospaces] [attr="class","outerbox rules"] [attr="class","innerbox"] General Overview [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
01 [attr="class","maintext"] HOTSPOT! is a site that heavily revolves around powers, abilities and other awesome rewards your characters will find. There is only some influence you can have over the power you are given, as staff will be creating most of the abilities, items and classes for you. Upon character creation, you are allowed to pick one word for the general theme, as well as other options to influence the mechanics/ purpose of the power (but we'll get to that later). Staff will then create a custom class/ power unique to your character. Let's start off with a walkthrough on what you can choose from and how to get your character class made.[break][break] Powers are staff made. If you don't like what you've got, you can exchange it for a new one but it is advised not to. If you still choose to do this, staff will redact your current class so it can't be used, and your new class will be a 'low-priority' on the list of staff jobs to do. The new class itself will also have no passive, which is very difficult to obtain later on. You must use the new power, and cannot go back to the old one. [googlefont=DM Serif Display:400,700][googlefont=Open Sans:400,700] [newclass=.outerbox]margin: 10px auto 0; max-width: 600px; border: 0px solid var(--accent); border-top: 20px solid var(--accent); border-bottom: 8px solid var(--accent); background: #f9f9f9; font: 400 12px/16px 'Open Sans'; color: #222; --accent: #9182e0; text-align: justify [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .innerbox] padding: 30px 130px 20px 40px; border: 2px solid var(--accent); border-left: 0; border-right: 0; border-bottom: 0; margin: 4px 0;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .section]width: 100%; margin-bottom: 24px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .flex]display: flex; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .labeltext]min-width: 30px; display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .maintext] display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox br+br] content: ' '; padding: 0 0 10px; display: block; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1,.outerbox h2] margin: 0; font-family: 'DM Serif Display'; color: var(--accent); line-height: 1em; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1] font-size: 40px; margin-bottom: 44px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h2] font-size: 28px; margin-bottom: 12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox.rules .labeltext] min-width: 68px; [/newclass]

[nospaces] [attr="class","outerbox rules"] [attr="class","innerbox"] THEME [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
02 [attr="class","maintext"] First up, is the THEME of your custom power. You can choose one to two words as your theme, and staff will base your power around that with it being the core foundations of what you can do. If you choose a broad theme and aren't very specific, The System will provide multiple power choices (titles only) that you can pick from. If you are very specific with the theme, you may only be given one option that cannot be changed. [break][break] For example, if I chose the theme [dragon], the system could grant me three class options (ignoring the Anchor for now): - dragoon
- drake warden
- firemancer
A nice variety of options. You won't be granted any further information on the class other than the title. Once you select one, you must wait for staff to make your power and update it in the inventory. [break][break] Now if I chose a theme such as [reality warper], it is already very specific. Although there can be options pulled from this, it isn't always likely to happen. Therefore, you might just get one option that staff will automatically begin working on. Once again, you can only slightly influence your power, not make it outright. [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] - [attr="class","maintext"]Now although there is the theme you can choose, there is also the [Anchor]. These are aspects of your life that you can select which manifests itself in mysterious ways. The anchor you select and describe will also influence the power that comes with your class. More can be read on Anchors below. [googlefont=DM Serif Display:400,700][googlefont=Open Sans:400,700] [newclass=.outerbox]margin: 10px auto 0; max-width: 600px; border: 0px solid var(--accent); border-top: 20px solid var(--accent); border-bottom: 8px solid var(--accent); background: #f9f9f9; font: 400 12px/16px 'Open Sans'; color: #222; --accent: #9182e0; text-align: justify [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .innerbox] padding: 30px 130px 20px 40px; border: 2px solid var(--accent); border-left: 0; border-right: 0; border-bottom: 0; margin: 4px 0;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .section]width: 100%; margin-bottom: 24px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .flex]display: flex; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .labeltext]min-width: 30px; display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .maintext] display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox br+br] content: ' '; padding: 0 0 10px; display: block; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1,.outerbox h2] margin: 0; font-family: 'DM Serif Display'; color: var(--accent); line-height: 1em; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1] font-size: 40px; margin-bottom: 44px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h2] font-size: 28px; margin-bottom: 12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox.rules .labeltext] min-width: 68px; [/newclass]

[nospaces] [attr="class","outerbox rules"] [attr="class","innerbox"] ANCHORS [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
03 [attr="class","maintext"] Anchors are aspects of your life, the world, or something you have an attachment to. They make the THEME unique, changing how it might be utilised. They can be physical objects, a feeling or an event that took place. The System rummages through your personality, your choices, and creates your Anchor to Earth. Anchors come in several varieties: [break] [break][break] Rather than the themes having pure elemental advantages over each other, advantages are instead calculated through the means of Anchors as shown:[break][break] [break][break] This means that a class such as [Fire] [Gift] would have an advantage against a class with [water] [shelter]. When an attack has an Anchor advantage over its target, its treated as being 1 Rank higher versus their DEF and VIT. Check the Combat and Damage page for more information! [break][break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 04 [attr="class","maintext"]Anchors are detailed further below. Although Anchors come in many forms, it does not limit you to what you can do, only nudge a class in a certain direction in terms of its applications. There could still be a mage-like class with a Gift Anchor as well as a mage-like class with a Dissection Anchor. [break][break] [break][break] GIFT - Something physical, an object of importance in your life. Whether it be the fountain pen you use to sign papers, the necklace your grandmother gave you, or a viking sword you saw in a museum one time. ‘Gifts’ carry over into your class, tying your powers to a specific object which can channel energy to perform abilities etc. Gifts can be high damage weapons, or perfect channelers for other effects.[break] Item, Warrior, Assassin, Thief, Cleric, Channeler, Caster, Mobile, Physical [break][break] SHELTER - A place, somewhere that comes to mind when you think of home, love, heartbreak, wanderlust… It could be the ropeswing at the end of your garden, the pond your father took you fishing, or even as grand as a mountain itself. Shelters tie a particular theme related to the place you choose, and focus on the manipulation of the world around you based on certain Shelter qualities. These classes can cover wide areas, as well as incorporate defensive skills. [break] Domain, Area, Mage, Tank, Warper, Protector, Reflector, Change [break][break] MELODY - The anchor of Melody is a more abstract term used to describe a fond memory or heartfelt interest. This can range from past experiences or a certain song you once heard and what you associate with it. Was it the song playing at your wedding, a job promotion that changed your life, or perhaps the birth of your first child? Classes utilising the Melody Anchor are harder to discern, as the effects of their powers are mystical and often conceptual.[break] Abstract, Concept, Mage, Mystic, Caster, Trump Card, Psychic, Domain [break][break]
CONNECTION - The attachment one makes with another person or animal, living or dead. The anchor could be a historical figure or loved one. It can also be a certain animal or other beast you have a bond with. Class powers can draw upon the Connection to influence it’s purpose, these Anchors are usually used for summoning or channeling certain traits/ embodiments.[break] Summoner, Channeler, Shaman, Bond, Divine, Beastial, Mind Link, Help [break][break] DISSECTION - The severance of something dear to you affected you deeply. So much so that you wish to prevent that from happening again, or inlifct the same pain on others. You have let this tragic event shape who you are today, thus, influencing the mechanics of your designated Class. [break] Assassin, Reaper, Void, Fighter, Warper, Sinister, Thief, Harm [break][break]
FRAGMENT - A piece of the light resides inside you. Some lives were harder to overwrite, minds difficult to manipulate. In this new age, you retain a piece of whatever landed all those years ago, granting you unknown Anchor properties but something far greater than what meets the eye. All aspects of Anchors converge in a fragment. [break][break][break][break] IMPORTANT - Please note that the Anchor only influences the powers of your class, not the class name. In some cases, the Class Name can be affected by the Anchor you choose. [break][break] [googlefont=DM Serif Display:400,700][googlefont=Open Sans:400,700] [newclass=.outerbox]margin: 10px auto 0; max-width: 600px; border: 0px solid var(--accent); border-top: 20px solid var(--accent); border-bottom: 8px solid var(--accent); background: #f9f9f9; font: 400 12px/16px 'Open Sans'; color: #222; --accent: #9182e0; text-align: justify [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .innerbox] padding: 30px 130px 20px 40px; border: 2px solid var(--accent); border-left: 0; border-right: 0; border-bottom: 0; margin: 4px 0;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .section]width: 100%; margin-bottom: 24px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .flex]display: flex; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .labeltext]min-width: 30px; display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .maintext] display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox br+br] content: ' '; padding: 0 0 10px; display: block; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1,.outerbox h2] margin: 0; font-family: 'DM Serif Display'; color: var(--accent); line-height: 1em; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1] font-size: 40px; margin-bottom: 44px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h2] font-size: 28px; margin-bottom: 12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox.rules .labeltext] min-width: 68px; [/newclass]

[nospaces] [attr="class","outerbox rules"] [attr="class","innerbox"] THE ROLL [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
-- [attr="class","maintext"] Before selecting your anchor, you firstly need to roll 2d100 in the discord server. For your main class you get to roll two 100 dice and pick which number you want for your anchor, but for your subclass, it's just 1d100. Based on your roll, you will get to choose the importance and strength of your Anchor. Do note, that the roll does not put you at a disadvantage, but rather is for flavour purposes and should be viewed as such. [break][break] There is some overlap with the Anchor tiers, so think of it as how your character values something rather than how it might be perceived by others. Do not choose offensive themes as your Anchor. Staff can decline an application if they deem your Anchor inappropriate or should be in a different tier. [break][break] Once you roll for your characters class, that roll cannot be rerolled! [break][break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 1 [attr="class","maintext"]Glitch [break][break]Examples:Can pick any anchor type, but you won't get the results you expect[break][break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 2-20 [attr="class","maintext"]A mundane, every day object, person or experience. Hardly any value to anyone, even you. Can only have Gift, Shelter or Melody Anchors. [break][break]Examples: mobile phone, houseplant, walk to work, an old friend etc.[break][break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 21-50 [attr="class","maintext"]Mundane, but has some value to you. It isn’t likely that others would know of this Anchor. Can only have Gift, Shelter or Melody Anchors. [break][break]Examples: favourite toy, lucky coin, bedroom, fond memory a song reminds you of. [break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 51-70 [attr="class","maintext"]Slightly more important and grand, has some value and others may know of this anchor. Unlocks Connection and Dissection Anchors. [break][break]Examples: a lover, rival, traumatic experience, local pond, local folk tale, zoo animal, murder [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 71-89 [attr="class","maintext"]Objects, people, places of great significance within a large region. Others are likely to know what the anchor is and Melodies/ Dissectors are likely to involve a large amount of other people. [break][break]Examples: mass attack, rebuilding community, local legends, sunken ship, petrichor, local museum artefacts
[break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 90-99 [attr="class","maintext"]Rare. People of importance, places that are well known to most people. [break][break]Examples:pyramids, famous lakes, war, famous artefacts, celebrity [break] [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 100 [attr="class","maintext"]Claim a famous Anchor such as a powerful connection to a deity, landmark or global event. Fragment anchor can be claimed at this level. [break][break]

[nospaces] [attr="class","outerbox rules"] [attr="class","innerbox"] Anchor Example [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
-- [attr="class","maintext"] In your inventory , you must write a short piece on your Anchor. It must remain within the 300 word limit and should describe the general outline of what you anchor is/ means to you. [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
01 [attr="class","maintext"] [dragon][melody] - Susie didn't think she had any fond memories left of her wedding, not with the recent divorce happening. But one aspect is clear to her, and still makes her smitten and joyous each time. That Frank Sinatra song during her first dance, the way the petals fell around them, every step was just in perfect sync. That was the first time, perhaps the only time, that she felt like the most beautiful person in the world. The white gown, the veil that kept falling over her eyes. Perhaps that's why she likes this memory, because she couldn't see her ex-husband properly. The man she was dancing with could be anyone she pictures~[break][break] Staff Assigned Class Options: Dragon's Bride, Drake Warden, Red Priestess [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
02 [attr="class","maintext"] [ocean][gift] - The ships wheel, although totally ornamental, was something that Morgan just absolutely adored. It didn't actually function on his modern ship, it was wooden and awkwardly built into the ground. But it still spun, and brings back fond memories of his youth and the original ship it came from. An old beauty, that was passed down from his late father. [break][break] Staff Assigned Class Options: Pirate, Navigator, Siren [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
03 [attr="class","maintext"] [shield][connection] - A fatherly figure, someone Cole could look up to. He wasn't actually Cole's Dad, but he might as well have been given how much he was around and the involvement in Cole's upbringing. His step-dad was respected, looked out for the community, and would put himself between whatever ill will came towards Cole and his mother.[break][break] Staff Assigned Class Options: Summon: Guardian, Bastion, Builder [attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"]
04 [attr="class","maintext"] [angel][dissection] - They'll pay for what they did. Leaving Anya beaten and bruised, left for dead on the sidewalk on that rainy night. They were supposed to be family, a bond stronger than blood, in fact. But here she was, stabbed in the back on their latest errand for the boss. Trust no one.[break][break] Staff Assigned Class Options: Lucifer, Cherub, Cleric [googlefont=DM Serif Display:400,700][googlefont=Open Sans:400,700] [newclass=.outerbox]margin: 10px auto 0; max-width: 600px; border: 0px solid var(--accent); border-top: 20px solid var(--accent); border-bottom: 8px solid var(--accent); background: #f9f9f9; font: 400 12px/16px 'Open Sans'; color: #222; --accent: #9182e0; text-align: justify [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .innerbox] padding: 30px 130px 20px 40px; border: 2px solid var(--accent); border-left: 0; border-right: 0; border-bottom: 0; margin: 4px 0;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .section]width: 100%; margin-bottom: 24px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .flex]display: flex; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .labeltext]min-width: 30px; display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox .maintext] display: block;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox br+br] content: ' '; padding: 0 0 10px; display: block; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1,.outerbox h2] margin: 0; font-family: 'DM Serif Display'; color: var(--accent); line-height: 1em; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h1] font-size: 40px; margin-bottom: 44px; [/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox h2] font-size: 28px; margin-bottom: 12px;[/newclass] [newclass=.outerbox.rules .labeltext] min-width: 68px; [/newclass]
