Adam stepped out onto the grass. Looking around him, there were giant slabs of rock. The sunlight shone down, casting long shadows from the huge structures, and in the distance, Adam saw the rumored sleeping colossus of this area. It was several stories tall, and even from here, Adam could feel some of the magic flow through the area, deceptive with its tall grass and little flower fields.

He reached out, and a blaze of blue flames of binary burst forth from his reach, forming into the ever-familiar shape of a briefcase. Upon opening it, he did frown. No weapon graced his presence, and instead, it was two sticks of dynamite and a small health potion.

He kept the briefcase with him. Better to have at least something than nothing.

He was here to level up, kill monsters for experience, and still yet, learn more things about the systemized world. His singular mantra of getting stronger was still necessary to him, and he knew he still needed strength.

He placed the sticks of dynamite in his inventory and the health potion as well. And simply began walking, looking for a monster to encounter, fight, and kill.

Showtime.
There was nothing Gavin loved more than a good video game, except breaking that game by destroying every boss, trash mob, and PVP scrub that tried to be big and bougie. Could real life be broken? He didn't know, but finding out was 90% of the fun. And so he was here with his hair spiked forward and his vermillion tank-top all but painted over his third-best feature.
The grass crunched under his black adidas Yeezy's (that he still says were NOT a waste of money just because Ye might've gone on a little ranty or two. Who hasn't?) with every jaunty step. The self-proclaimed Father of Dragons, first of his name, God of Genjis, had arrived and it was about to be everyone's problem.
...If there was anything here.
Gavin sighed and crossed his arms. He had no concept of what he was doing out here other than farming, but as far as he could tell there was not even any actual farming here. The Earth was as thirsty as he was.
The dirt was balding with patches of grass and slabs of rock curled like chapped fingers under the boiling sun, and yet Gavin couldn't appreciate the rustic serenity. His trigger finger itched. His cargo shorts were stuffed with the essentials [protein bars, water, sunscreen] but if it was possible to die from boredom then The LGSB was already on life support.
He brought a hand to his forehead. Shadows moved in the distance and all but one looked the same. A human? An animal shaped like a human? A desert-dragon priest guarding a Shout Wall? Whatever. He'd take what he could get.
"YOOOOOOOO~!" Gavin yelled into the distance and jogged from his spot grinning. He was loud and scattered the dust in his wake. He could've aggro'd every creature with working ears in a ten mile radius but that wasn't nearly as important as having someone to text besides Earth-chan. She hadn't responded to any of his memes and though he'd never admit it; it was starting to hurt his feelings.
Finally he closed the gap; drenched in sweat and panting on his knees, but smiling through the heartburn.
"Yo...heya...whats up G?" Gav wheezed and finally stood up straight, puffing his chest out.
"Yo so check out right? I pulled up in this bitch thinking this was gonna be some Attack on Titan, IF I LOOOOSE IT ALLL SLIP AND FALLL I WILL NEVER LOOK AWAYYYY, kinda shit yeah? But where's the muthafuckin TITANS?! Aint shit here dude. Or at least like, some of those ugly little Saibamen hoes around here!"
He blinked and scanned his new friend once. "...Bruh. Is that a BRIEFCASE?" The boy snickered. "My good bitch. You could've picked any class and you chose to be a fucking BEAN COUNTER?! HAHAHAHA!"
And he lost it. Gavin laughed until his face reddened. "Sorrysorry, I'm sorry. No no its fine, really. You're like, nerd-hot so it works for you. Oh I'm GG bee tee dubs."
Gavin held out his hand. Was it polite perhaps to let a stranger get a word in edgewise? Maybe. But being polite didn't win games. [attr="class","fateis2scroll"] Firstly, Adam did not expect to run into anyone here in this area because, first of all, hardly anyone would be as reckless as he was to simply walk into a high-risk area without much care for their safety. [break][break] He knew exactly what he was doing, risking his own life for the sake of strength, but that was what it sometimes took to be strong, to get stronger. He suspected that not many people would simply understand. On some level, he didn’t want others to understand. [break][break] "YOOOOOOOO~!" [break] So when there was an ear splitting scream that ripped through the air, Adam was more than just surprised, he was profusely annoyed. How could anyone have the same idea as him? And why would it be someone as daft as to yell out their position to practically any kind of danger in this obviously high risk area. [break][break] Someone incredibly stupid far more than anyone had a right to accuse Adam of being. [break][break] Adam did stop, and he simply glared with dark eyes back at the youth who had simply run up to him. He still was unsure whether to credit him as incredulously stupid or brave, but Adam soon went with the former. [break][break] Because the other referred to him as ‘G.’ And who in the hell even referred to others that way so casually? Some tryhards still thought it was cool. Was that the kind of thing Adam was dealing with at the moment? [break][break] Adam still said nothing when the youth quickly bounced through at least three different anime references while trying to explain his encounters upon entering this area. All Adam did was frown. [break][break] It continued to the briefcase, which the youth quickly pointed out as rather odd and went on a miniature rant about it. Adam took a deep breath, closed his eyes for a moment, and then turned around, in the opposite direction the man had come from. [break][break] He said nothing. He wasn’t going to say anything at all to this “GG” or whatever the hell he was referring to himself as. Because there was nothing for him to say. [break][break] Nothing nice anyway. |
