Eyes fluttered open, and a yawn was let loose from soft tan lips. She stretched made her way out of bed, jumped into a quick shower, freshened up, moisturized, and ran a mixture of shea butter, Jamaican black caster oil, and argan oil through her hair. It was a homemade blend and had always done wonders for her natural hair. Running her fingers through her kinky curls a couple of times, she placed a little lipstick on her lips, bringing them together to make sure that she rubbed it in well. After getting dressed she checked herself out in the mirror, making sure that everything was up to code, and that she was dressed to impress. She chose a red and black jacket, and some glasses, for style more than actual need, some black sweat pants, and boots, and of course grabbed one of the many daggers she purchased for its cute design and sharp edge. Next was her phone and house keys. [break][break]

Stuffing the dagger within her inner coat pocket, Nubia turned to the window of her fourth-floor apartment, and looked outside, wanting to let some fresh in she reached for the window. That was until she heard screaming, gasping, and car crashes going on down below. She looked down below to see everyone glancing up, following their gazes she saw a white like streaking through the sky. Was it a comet? What the hell, she hadn't seen anything like this on the news. Then the light fell, shaking happened, it was violent and she found herself desperately trying to steady herself from falling over.[break][break]

Moving away from the windows in fear of them shattering on her, she ran toward her computer desk in her bedroom. "What the hell! I just wanted to go out for a cute brunch and have some mimosas! Thas it! Is that too much to ask?" Nubia said, after all, was only currently in France. Having come here and moved most of her goods through the underground means. She was only here for mercenary work and planned to go out to brunch before meeting up with a potential client that was hiring any mercenaries, assassins, and merchants he could for some big job.[break][break]

She hadn't known the full specifics of the job, just that it paid well, and was at least willing to hear the guy out, but now. Now it seemed like she wouldn't get the chance. She forced herself up as the shaking intensified, she could hear pure mayhem happening outside her window. Running over toward her bed, she reached underneath grabbing her emergency bag. Filled with rations, a sleeping bag, a pillow, flint, haircare, a first aid kit, and some hygiene products. [break][break]

The large backpack was something she used when she went backpacking across the country. It also was great for storing weapons in, but she had no time to grab anything before the ceiling literally started to cave in around her. Making a B line toward her apartment door she quickly opened it, not bothering to close it behind her as she made her way toward the stairwell. People screamed and panicked, falling down the stairs, and he found herself jumping over bodies, and shoving people out of her way to avoid being trampled.[break][break]

Making her way toward the exit, Nubia saw one of them crumble, crushing people underneath. "Oh my god!" She yelled, moving back on reflex, and accidentally tripping, she bumped her head and then found her mind drifting back to the time she saw those white lights in the sky years ago, much like the ones falling from the sky today. She had forgotten all about it, as to why she had forgotten something so significant she had no clue, but what her mind then flashed to was her dagger in her pocket, the day she had brought it. Then as she opened her eyes, she saw a blue holographic window in front of her eyes. "What... What in the world," she said shaking her head and blinking as many times as she could yet the holographic window remained.[break][break]

It was a message from "Earth-Chan" on it, she didn't know who the fuck that was but the message was strange.[break][break]

"Now, I know I'm not fucking crazy," Nubia swiped at the screen, finding her hand went right through it. "Am I?" she questioned now concerned with her own mental stability coming into question. Though before she could ruminate on the thought she was then jarred into movement once more with nothing but a heavy shake of the building. Nubia found herself quickly scrambling up so as to not be trampled by the incoming building inhabitants moving toward the back exit, a sea of people scrambling to get out of the same area. She elbowed her way through, finally getting toward the front, she was about to make it to the door when another notification window came up.[break][break]

However, before she could press the button she looked back to literally see a part of the building break off, crumbling as it did before it was floating into the sky, she starred with shock and horror alongside the others, whose attention was torn between what she assumed was screens like their own, and the building quite literally being torn apart and raising into the sky. Everyone stood frozen, some people pressing them at the screens. Some watching as beyond the now non-existent wall, people, cars, and the top of other buildings were all raising into the sky. Some weird giant obelisk emitting digital energy was floating in the sky.[break][break]

Then the ceiling above them shook violently as it began to crack. People started pushing toward a door, the light was so bright coming out of it that she couldn't quite make out what it was, she just found her body being pushed alongside the crowd. "Stop, stop pushing!" She screamed, a notification came up saying something about a "tutorial warning" as she was forcibly taken through the door and into the unknown.[break][break]

Sebastian stared at the 3 class options that were given to him on his screen, trying to figure out which would be the best one to go with. "This all sounds like a video game. Based off that, weaver won't really be a viable first choice as I have no guarantee that I can do anything offensive with it." Given the fact that this Earth person seemed aware of the fact that his family had been mercenaries, he wasn't that surprised to know that they were aware that he had been taught to weave from a young age. "What else could they possibly know about me?"

Deciding to table that for a later time, Sebastian turned back to the screen and reviewed his two remaining choices. "So the only choices left are Spider Queen and Blade Dancer. With all the weird shit going on and knowing being forced to pick a class, it'd be a safe beat that I'd be getting into combat at some point so it'd be better to have variety rather than focus on purely offensive. I guess my choice is clear then." he thought before reaching out and pressing the option for Spider Queen.

Once he pressed the screen, a blinding light hit his eyes and by the time he opened them, Sebastian noted that not only was he not on the tree branch from earlier, but that he wasn't even in the same forest from before. "Did...did I just get teleported? Why? How?" were all the words he managed to suppter out before the words on the screen changed once more, giving him the chance to read the last words before it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.

"Tutorial - Reach the Cabin located in the northern part of the woods alive. The first 20 to arrive get to enjoy the safety it entails. Those unlucky enough not to, get to enjoy serving as food for the beasts in the woods. Good luck and I hope you've brushed up on your greek mythology!"

Much like those around him, as the light had begun to fade from his eyes, Olliver had found himself behind some kind of tree within a forest. The fact that he had managed to so blatantly get transported from one location to another in the link of an eye had astonished the stout man. Was this perhaps something to do with the title of the class that he had chosen? Space Trader. All in all, there was no real telling what exactly was going on.. All that had made sense to the merchant in this moment was that he was somehow outside of the first class seats that he had just been relaxing on.. and his laptop was left behind.

Both intrigued yet furious by whatever it was that had been happening at this moment, the man would begin to push himself off of the ground. He had collapsed onto his ass after he had been transported on over. No doubt for nothing more than this Earth-Chan getting their kicks in. "What in the world is possibly going on now? Those damned obelisks.." Whilst rubbing his head in irritation, Olliver would allow for an exasperated sigh to leave his lips. How could he take advantage of a situation in which he hadn't really understood what was going on? Almost as though Earth-Chan had heard his worries, another holographic window would appear before the man. This time however, it would seem as though the pop up had been notifying him of a tutorial that he would need to partake in. One that might quite possibly lead to death if he wasn't ahead of the game...

Never before in his life had Olliver been so distraught over his weight. Compared to the majority of those that had been teleported to this location, he was quite likely to be the slowest. "Well.. shit." In all honesty, things might be able to go well if he is capable of bribing those around him to assist him. In a matter of life and death though.. Well there was no telling if he could possibly convince someone to aid him here. Knowing that he simply wasn't prepared for things to end here, Olliver would begin to look around at those that had been within the area. Out of everyone here, there had been two people that had stood out the most. A silver haired young man and an extremely beautiful young woman. 'I suppose that it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on these two.. Mayhaps I can convince them to carry me through this whole ordeal? Figuratively of course' A sly smile had begun to creep upon the mans lips for a ghost of a moment before he would contort his face into one of worry.

"W-what is going on here?!" A cruel ruse to try and win some others over to his side. "Greek mythology? Why are my college courses coming back to haunt me now?!" A truly pitiful display.. Yet one that he was hoping would win him some sympathy. Of course it was no guarantee that such a thing would work. After all, he wasn't the only person that had been losing their marbles over the entire ordeal.

Nubia sighed grasping her dagger tighter and removing it from its sheath on the off chance something did pop up and out at them. All of this shit was so crazy she didn't know what to believe so best to prepare for everything and anything. She sighed, once more rubbing her temples with both her hands, massing them until the headache of stress had faded ever so slightly. She didn't know what the hell was going on, but this wasn't the first time she had been in a tight spot. Sure, the world hadn't been turning upside down, classes, and status screens like in manga novels she had seen people read like that one programmer she had worked with during a job. The guy always had those dense ass anime books, flipping through the pages with glee. Though as much as she'd like to say she didn't care for such things she did like some of the ones that featured sword fighting. [break][break]

She took a deep breath in, tensed, exhaled, and let her body relax. "Okay, bitch shit has gotten real, but that's okay; cause real recognize real. Let's get through this tutorial and then figure everything else out after," she said giving herself an impromptu pep talk. Sure anyone watching might of thought it was odd that she was talking to herself, but weirder shit had certainly happened today so she felt she was allowed some leeway besides who the fuck were they to judge like they all didn't just get fucking teleported to a random field and told to fight Greek mythology monsters. Speaking off, it had been some while since she had read much, and she barely know much about it besides the pantheon, and the monsters, however, besides the basics that everyone knew like minotaur and maybe satyr that occasionally popped up in the occasional fantasy movies she had no clue. She knew Medusa was based on a black woman with dreadlocks but besides that, not much else. Knowledge was always half the battle, and right now she was losing that half. [break][break]

Nubia's eyes scanned the crowd for perhaps someone, anyone that might know something more than what she did, the problem was discovering that, scoping out that knowledge. Then as if the goddess had answered her prayers a stout man screamed out haven taken college courses on the subject. Nubia waltzed right on over, she got within arms reach of the man and reached out a hand. Thankfully this guy was her cup of tea, so she felt she'd at least be able to tolerate his looks rather than thinking of him as an eyesore. Now hopefully the personality could stand up to snuff unless this whining was to be all that she saw, though she was intent on putting a stop to that.[break][break]

"Hi, handsome." She said offering up a smile before continuing. "First things first, we're in a shit situation. I'm a mercenary, I can fight so I'm pretty confident in using this dagger of mine." She said putting all the cards on the table, now wasn't the damn time to be coy, shit was at stake, like her life. [break][break]

"Oh, I'm Nubia. Nice to meet you," she waited for a small response back, before moving on with her words, possibly even cutting the man off if he was to try yet another pitiful display. "Second thing, get your shit together, now is not the time to break down, you got that?" She said placing her hands on her hips, giving a motherly tone. The same one her mom and grandma had used when talking sternly to her. [break][break]

"Usually I charge for protection services, but today I'll make an exception. Lend me your knowledge and I'll lend you my strength. Sound like a good deal? If so good we need to move, because I will be damned if my black ass isn't one of those 20 people that get to live. So would you like to work together and live?" she said putting the mortality of the situation out on the table for the man. [break][break]

Hopefully, the man accepted because just as Nubia turned to walk into the forest something slithered from behind the tree. First, she saw what looked like a snake tell, then what came next was a person hanging limply, blood dripping from their corpse. A look of fear on their face. Though what frightened her was the fact that this person, this corpse was hanging from the jaws whose mouth stretched to fit it, large fangs bore into the corpse's skin. Attached to the fangs was the sinister glee of a woman's face she had slithered snake-like eyes, her bottom half was that of serpents, and she was unlike anything Nubia had ever seen. [break][break]

"What the fuck is that?" Nubia said, bringing her dagger up to fight the creature. The creature lunged, and as she did the snake woman tossed the body in its mouth to the side with wanton care. The creature's arms stretched outward intent on grasping Nubia.[break][break]

Nubia wanted to retreat, her whole mind practically screamed too, but instead, she found her resolve steady, she meant what she said about wanting to live, about wanting to be one of those 20. Monster or no monster, it was dog and dog, and she was the head bitch in charge. She pushed the stout man to the side out of the way of the grasping hands. Ducking downward, Nubia swapped the dagger into her left fist. Just as the hands of the creatures passed over her, she turned the dagger down the crimson-red blade of it facing the same direction as her pinky in her clutched fist. [break][break]

"Black Sunflower - First Petal: Red Soil, “she said as she brought up the black-bladed dagger, letting its red edge carve into the neck of the creature as she brought her hand over with a quick smooth motion. Too smooth, too quick. Nubia had never had magical powers before, but she did have the skill, technique, the knowledge of blades and how to use them. However, this speed was faster than usual, the power behind her strike was stronger than it have ever been, even the form in her execution was flawless. It was something she noticed immediately as it happened, something she knew shouldn't be the case. The attack should've been sloppy at best, only cutting slightly into the creature if at all, but instead, she found herself doing the movement with ease. Although what truly surprised her was the way the creature's body flipped and barreled as Nubia stepped to the side after her movement with her dagger. Letting the body fall to the ground, free of its head. She flicked the blade of her dagger to free the grime from her black blade the only red left on it being from it crimson edge and the red petals decorating the handle. The dagger of which she starred at with new admiration.[break][break]

Sebastian started off heading north as indicated by the moss growing on the tree. That fight against the snake hadn't been as difficult as he had expected but then again this was just a tutorial. There were sure to be stronger monsters lurking deeper in the woods most likely becoming stronger the closer he gets to the cabin. "Since this is sort of like a video game, that means that there will probably be some sort of mini-boss or something waiting near the end. It'd probably be in my best interest to find some other players that I can team up with then." Sebastian considered. He would rather not have to deal with potential dead weight but if it came down to it, he could simply use them as a meat shield while he scampered away into the cabin. After all, the objective had stated that they simply needed to get to the cabin, not fight every monster.

Keeping an ear out for any sounds of other players, Sebastian heard the sound of something rather large moving through the bushes, heading in his direction. Making a split second decision, he quickly climbed the nearest tree, using his spider limbs for extra help, and covered himself with the foliage as he waited to see what was coming his way.

What came out from the bushes was a strange 3-foot tall dragon/rooster hybrid, one that he immediately identified as being a cockatrice, one of the few creatures that he knew. It hadn't noticed him from what he could tell, leaving him with the element of surprise should he decide to engage it. "This is going to be a bit difficult. From what I remember, either it can kill you by looking you in the eye or it could do so with its breath. Whichever one it is, it'd be better not taking that chance and probably leaving it be." Sebastian considered as the cockatrice continued making its way toward him. "No. It'd be in my best interest to kill it for better gains. It doesn't look all that particularly strong anyway." he ultimately decided.

Planning out his attack mentally, Sebastian waited until the cockatrice walked directly underneath his tree before quietly leaping out and aiming his legs to pierce straight through the main body, the holographic web appearing to ensure that his hit dealt that extra bit of damage. The mythical beast let out a screech of pain and outrage, its head swiveling to look in his direction but Sebastian didn't give it any time to launch a potential counterattack as he used the spear-like head of the snake he'd killed earlier to stab into one of its eyes.

The beast let out another garbled screech before finally succumbing to its wounds and collapsing dead onto the forest floor, allowing Sebastian to wrack up another win. Retracting his spider limbs, he quickly hightailed it out of there, not wanting to stick around in case something came investigating the noise created from the battle. Now he just had to find some worthwhile people to group up with and he'd be set.

Once his ability had completed charging up, various stars would begin to burst into being around this man. While he had read that this would happen, when he was going over this abilities only a moment ago, seeing it in person was another thing entirely. "A-alright... So how am I going to navigate this?" Hoping that this was simply the kind of thing that he could do by willing the ability to do what he had wanted, Olliver's body would begin to lift off of the ground. As it had done this, the stout man couldn't help but internally freak out for a moment. He was well and truly flying. If this much of the ability had been true.. Well it was entirely feasible to assume that the fact that he could soar at over forty miles an hour was true! With a speed like that, compared to the average eight miles an hour that an average human can run, he could clear his way through the forest and to the end of this tutorial in a matter of minutes!

The man would assuredly be lying if he were to say that he hadn't considered just taking off towards the objective. He wasn't one that was seeking for death after all. This would have been the portly mans best bet. While the monsters are distracted with every other human charging their way, Olliver could theoretically make it to the objective in record time. But he couldn't exactly do that.. Not after having made a relatively beneficial bargain with Nubia.

A soft sigh would begin to escape from the mans lips as he would shoot up into the sky. He would continue to soar up just high enough to wear he could see the field below with relative ease. Whilst he had maintained this visual of the area below, Olliver would come to see various rather horrid things. People being torn apart by monsters, other humans betraying their friends by throwing them aside for their own lives, and of course a strange wealth of fascinating new abilities. Abilities that were far more combat oriented than his own. "Well...fuck."

His gaze quickly finding the two individuals that he had previously taken note of, Olliver would shoot down towards the slider legged individual. "Oi! You!" Floating several dozen feet in the air above the man so that he wouldn't fall into their striking range, Olliver would shout out towards him. "You seem relatively capable! Come on~" Without even a moment of hesitation, Olliver would than shoot back up into the sky so that he could track down Nubia. And after he had seen her? Well he would jet back down towards her, maintaining his height in the air for the time being. "Good job with that Satyr, Nubia. I got another coming along with us. Let's be sure to clear out everything in our path."

Nubia flicked the blade free of her dagger once more, couldn't allow the blood to sit for too long, she didn't want the blade getting rusty if it could do such a thing. She had learned long ago the reason Samurai flicked their blades was for two reasons; to show effortlessly the battle was won, and because the blood could drip down the handle and hilt making it harder to grip as well as damage the blade over time. She didn't need her trusty dagger getting damaged or slipping out of her hand in the middle of a fight, not to mention she had no idea what these monsters were made of or if their blood had any special properties that could harm her weapon.[break][break]

Then she heard a voice from overhead, It was Olliver, and he was... He was flying! "What the fuck, you can fly?!" She yelled, she was so surprised that her hair would've turned white if the crown of it wasn't such already. The stars that dazzled around him made the ability he was using look all the more impressive, and Nubia found herself wondering if she'd ever get such a skill to do such magical things then she thought back to her abilities once more, making the mental note to test out the skill on a monster befitting its use. However, what she heard next troubled her a little, but she decided to put her trust in the man early on, it was too late to change that now, hopefully, whoever he picked to join them could hold their own and wouldn't betray them, but Nubia knew it was power in numbers so she went along with the plan. Eventually, the person came running, a young boy in his teens who had silver hair, and were those spider legs jutting from his back? What the hell was with some of these abilities? He introduced himself, his last name making her have to suppress a chuckle which she ultimately failed at. "I'm Nubia, Nubia Oya Labeau, pleasure." She said, after the boy had spoken, he was curt and straight to the point. She liked that.[break][break]

She held up her dagger and spoke, "I got this dagger, I can cut things, and well... That's pretty much it." Nubia mused, with a smile. Pointing her blade over toward the dead satyr. It wasn't all her abilities in full detail but she figured it would be enough. That said, she wasn't going to give away all her tricks just yet, especially considering he was not only still a stranger for the most part, but because she didn't test out the skill yet.[break][break]

"You have a cool skillset though, I'm sure It'll come in handy," the words came with a warm smile, her body turning back toward the task in front of them, as she began to walk ahead. [break][break]

"Well, now that we're all a group perhaps we can tackle this whole ordeal a lot easier," then a notification popped up in front of her, and she saw the blue holographic screen in front of her asking her if she'd like to create a party. It reminded her of those video game prompts that could be seen, so she clicked yes, then it asked her if she'd like to add anyone, more specifically it asked her if she'd like to add Olliver and Sebastian to the party so once again she clicked yes, then she saw two holographic blue screens pop up near them. Most likely asking them if they'd want to join the party as well.[break][break]

If they accepted Nubia would make her way into the forest with Sebastian as Olliver scouted from above.[break][break]
