Of moving like a river that courses over an ever-changing landscape, rippling and pouring through stones and earth to find and carve a path ever forward, let to stop moving would be the end of it all. It was his greatest strength really, to rely so little on pattern and the safety of certainty and a rigidly structured life that when he had to make adjustments, it was easy to leave behind what he knew for something new. What should have brought a sense of danger for most was a sense of opportunity for him - cautiously achieved with the knowledge that it could most certainly prove to be of great consequence if handled improperly, but enticing none the less. Fortune favors the bold so they liked to say, and while Xiang's life could be argued to be a product of a great deal of poor luck in it's origin...[break][break]

Xiang preferred to see himself as quite graced by Lady Luck, and quite favored by chance though. A destiny set for ruin was given just a sliver of hope to be better, relying on him to seize it.[break][break]

Once more before his plate was set that sliver of a chance, like so many years before as well. As many times before, Xiang's life had changed. He had seized it as always with eagerness though, with a drive and thirst born from ambition and instinct - one who desired more then anything to survive, and in that survival, to learn to thrive. To bloom fully and completely.[break][break]

The "New Earth" was nothing of the home Xiang had known. What was once his and those he once knew were gone now - destroyed and dead perhaps, or merely lost and moved in the translation of elements. But with it was so much more. A life defined on the razor's edge as monsters ran wild, quests invited reward, and dungeons thrummed with the promise of treasure for the daring and the brave. Like... one of those games. He had never had much time or interest to play such frivolous things, but he had heard here and there in passing. It was a strange choice for a new world - a ruleset and way of life that seemed to break from the reality and rules that had been so painstakingly uncovered and ironed into place and frivolously replaced now with logic that operated by a system with much a mind of it's own.[break][break]

But maybe that was the fun of it. Figuring out what the rules were now, and exploring how far one could move within them - or even if they could be bent. [break][break]

Far be it Xiang to complain about one change at least. Travelling the world had never been easier, and sampling a taste of all the different slices of life - half abandoned now with the tragic circumstances so many of those who loaded into this new life found themselves in. The loss was not to be laughed at most assuredly, but in it's own way it made what was left all the more beautiful to him - it spoke a story of the strength, cunning, or just strange little coincidences that led to someone making it to this side of things and staying alive in a world where no longer was humanity the top of the food chain.[break][break]

No, they were scavengers picking at the remains of their own carcass.[break][break]

Such a simple animal nature, but that's what they all once were, and with no society, no structure, no law and government, was it not back to the kingdom of animals?[break][break]

Philosophy though, was a waste of one's efforts. It amused Xiang to ponder it, but he was already plenty amused and intrigued sampling a vision of the Kingdom of Britain in repose, half-abandoned now and in disrepair. So gloomy, the hazy fog and streets that seemed to blur concrete with cobbled stone, hinting perhaps at the unstable nature of London. People lived here, most assuredly, but it teetered on a delicate balance betwixt salvation and sacrifice, humming with an uneasy feeling of things lurking in the fog and dark alleys even as lamplights shed warmth and light upon the open streets in the night hours. In the broad daylight now it just seemed so ancient, with grand towering structures in the distance and hollow roads carving out blocks of city-scape.[break][break]

And the quiet clicking of the heels of Xiang's boots.[break][break]

He paused, tilting his head slightly as silvered jewelry clinked slightly, one crimson eye glancing to the side at a crossroad. Silken black hair shifted and waterfalled down his shoulders at the tilt of his head, his figure half-shadowed by a red parasol that twirled ever so slightly in the grip of his hands. A faint smile twisted at tanned lips, and a slight shift, the white and silver-clad figure accented in scarlet - a stark change from his regal red and black, but fitting for a ghost town perhaps while he found his way - turning seemingly towards the path of another, catching sight of someone passing down a different street. Questions buzzed, a desire suddenly to know what drove someone here and what story they had to tell, and he found himself quickly closing the distance to catch up, his steps light and fast.[break][break]

A playful air, almost with an innocent childishness were it not for the mischief that played at his smile as Xiang hopped to step in front of the other man, his parasol closing and shifting with his hands as they clasped to hold it behind his back to let him lean forward on his tip-toes towards them - his presence announced by the faint jingle of a bell laced in those black boots. "Well well~" He purred, the system translating his words easily to the common language. "So it seems someone does still walk these streets." A flash for a moment of teeth, a grin, and his gaze moved down them then up in a swift gesture, before pressing on, a light tone of interest that seemed almost to speak as much to the other man as though to himself, leaving the question up in the air of it it was meant to be answered.[break][break]

"What would bring about that though one must wonder? Hello there my fine stranger~"[break][break]
